That's all from the BBC News at Six - so it's goodbye from me - | :00:00. | :00:00.
The Tories promise to cut Welsh government ministers' pay | :00:00. | :00:10.
If anyone would like to serve in a Welsh | :00:11. | :00:15.
Conservative Cabinet, they would have to take | :00:16. | :00:17.
It's usually one of the busiest roads in Wales. | :00:18. | :00:27.
Work to reduce the risk of flooding will begin in the next few months. | :00:28. | :00:30.
Growing calls from within Ukip for the party's leader | :00:31. | :00:32.
How much sugar is there in your food and drinks? | :00:33. | :00:37.
One Welsh MP wants it shown in spoonfuls on labels. | :00:38. | :00:40.
Well, it should have been done a long time ago, | :00:41. | :00:43.
Especially when my children were younger. | :00:44. | :00:45.
I don't really think many people look. | :00:46. | :00:51.
They just take it off the shelf, don't they? | :00:52. | :00:54.
Wales' women prepare to start their Six Nations campaign. | :00:55. | :00:58.
We'll catch-up with the army captain who's served in Afghanistan aiming | :00:59. | :01:00.
for success against Ireland on Saturday. | :01:01. | :01:14.
Welsh ministers could get their pay cut by 10% if the Conservatives win | :01:15. | :01:19.
Their leader, Andrew RT Davies, will say in a speech tonight that | :01:20. | :01:25.
giving his cabinet members ?90,000 each a year rather than ?100,000 | :01:26. | :01:29.
would save a quarter of a million over five years - | :01:30. | :01:34.
money he says he'd put towards getting young people | :01:35. | :01:37.
Our political correspondent Arwyn Jones has the details. | :01:38. | :01:45.
This man wants to be the next First Minister of Wales but if he gets the | :01:46. | :01:52.
top job after the election in May he wants a pay cut because if the | :01:53. | :01:56.
Conservatives form a government he and his Cabinet will take a 10% pay | :01:57. | :02:01.
cut to their ministerial salary, saving around a quarter of ?1 | :02:02. | :02:04.
million. We are actually saying where we would invest that money | :02:05. | :02:08.
because ultimately we believe that young people obviously for the | :02:09. | :02:10.
future of this great country and we believe that this institution is the | :02:11. | :02:15.
democratic will of lost democracy and we do want greater youth Welsh | :02:16. | :02:19.
participation here so instead of just talking about it we will be | :02:20. | :02:22.
making sure we put our money where our mouths are and invest that money | :02:23. | :02:29.
to develop youth participation. After the Assembly election day | :02:30. | :02:34.
First Minister salary is expected to increase to ?140,000 with ministers | :02:35. | :02:36.
of the worst government paying 100,000. That compares with 56,004 | :02:37. | :02:47.
headteachers, ?91,000 for top GPs, 147,004 council chiefs and 134,004 | :02:48. | :02:53.
MPs in David Cameron's Summit. This recruitment specialist says it is | :02:54. | :02:56.
not money that would attract executives politics. I would say for | :02:57. | :03:01.
people going into politics, there needs to be airway and it is usually | :03:02. | :03:07.
deep within them for another challenge for them, not all about | :03:08. | :03:12.
money, certainly wouldn't going in politics for that, it is about | :03:13. | :03:15.
making a difference. Last year an independent panel recommended that | :03:16. | :03:19.
they should be given a pay rise but with the current squeeze on public | :03:20. | :03:22.
spending many members said they couldn't take the squeeze and would | :03:23. | :03:27.
give the money to charity. But if we want the best and brightest | :03:28. | :03:30.
representing us in Cardiff Bay, isn't it right we paid top dollar? | :03:31. | :03:34.
On a High Street here it was a mixed response. If other people are either | :03:35. | :03:40.
having a pay cut or the wages are staying the same for just 1% for | :03:41. | :03:46.
something why should they not be in the same situation? It is a very | :03:47. | :03:50.
responsible job, you should have good pay. It is penny-pinching | :03:51. | :03:55.
otherwise to cut it. So is it a bit of a gimmick? Absolutely. It is a | :03:56. | :04:01.
gimmick. Considering I had ?1 80 last week, brilliant. Last year on | :04:02. | :04:06.
the pension. They need to, and live with the common people for a month | :04:07. | :04:10.
and see how we live and then they might have a different idea. So some | :04:11. | :04:13.
support here for cut-price politics, after all, everyone loves a bargain. | :04:14. | :04:19.
Arwyn is at the Senedd tonight where the Conservative leader | :04:20. | :04:21.
Arwyn, an election is on the horizon - this is just an easy | :04:22. | :04:26.
I think every political party knows that when the Welsh Assembly | :04:27. | :04:33.
election begins in a few weeks' time, voters will dodge them on | :04:34. | :04:37.
plans for hospitals, schools, support they can give businesses. | :04:38. | :04:41.
Mike but I think the Conservatives know full well there are an awful | :04:42. | :04:47.
lot of voters have either seen pay freezes or pay cuts. Also there is | :04:48. | :04:50.
the residual feeling that politicians tend to be in it for | :04:51. | :04:54.
themselves will stop so, any sort of plan a can outline which seeks to | :04:55. | :05:01.
address that will certainly be good for them. Andrew RT Davies will also | :05:02. | :05:04.
be outlining a package that will include fewer holidays for Assembly | :05:05. | :05:07.
members, they should be in this place more often and that perhaps | :05:08. | :05:11.
trying to address that feeling that all voters are not all that keen on | :05:12. | :05:16.
politicians. What has been the reaction from other parties? But a | :05:17. | :05:21.
lot from the other parties. Perhaps that is understandable because we | :05:22. | :05:24.
would want to be seen to be opposing it cut to the cost of politics? But | :05:25. | :05:29.
as I was saying in the report, last year when we got that independent | :05:30. | :05:34.
panel which recommended the salary for Assembly members should go up | :05:35. | :05:40.
from ?54,000 to ?64,000, a lot of Assembly members crossed the | :05:41. | :05:42.
political divide and said they couldn't accept that increase and | :05:43. | :05:46.
would give to charity. There is a consensus that this idea of cutting | :05:47. | :05:49.
the cost of politics. The Conservatives certainly have taken | :05:50. | :05:53.
the lead on that today but not a lot of reaction today because we get | :05:54. | :05:57.
closer to that election campaign you can rest assured that an awful lot | :05:58. | :06:00.
of politicians will have an awful lot to say an awful lot of issues. | :06:01. | :06:05.
I'm sure they will. Thank you very much. | :06:06. | :06:06.
Work to reduce the risk of flooding on one of the busiest roads in Wales | :06:07. | :06:10.
The Welsh government has announced an extra half a million pounds | :06:11. | :06:14.
to improve drainage on and around the A55 near Bangor - | :06:15. | :06:17.
which was badly affected over Christmas. | :06:18. | :06:18.
A major highway, or a dual carriageway canal. | :06:19. | :06:23.
This was the A55 on Boxing Day as flood water closed the road | :06:24. | :06:30.
and left places like Bangor partially cut off from the rest of | :06:31. | :06:32.
It wasn't the first time in the last few years it had happened. | :06:33. | :06:36.
Water also flowed into the village of Talybont, alongside the A55, | :06:37. | :06:41.
Today the First Minister came to North Wales to announce that work | :06:42. | :06:45.
will begin soon to deal with both problems. | :06:46. | :06:51.
The A55 is the major gateway to Wales across the northern coast and | :06:52. | :06:57.
it needs to be as resilient as possible. So, what we are doing is | :06:58. | :07:01.
making sure that the money is available to move forward, it | :07:02. | :07:07.
schemes in Talybont and also bringing the work between junctions | :07:08. | :07:10.
12 and 13. Both areas were affected by flooding over Christmas. | :07:11. | :07:13.
The response to that flooding and other emergencies on the A55 | :07:14. | :07:15.
is co-ordinated from this control room near Conwy. | :07:16. | :07:17.
Staff here also get a good view of the many cones | :07:18. | :07:20.
which are currently on the carriageway. | :07:21. | :07:27.
Some drivers fear this means more are to come. | :07:28. | :07:30.
Back in Talybont, one resident has welcomed the scheme | :07:31. | :07:32.
The people of Talybont will be very pleased with this. It has been a | :07:33. | :07:43.
long time coming but only people in Talybont Worle rest peacefully | :07:44. | :07:47.
knowing that the A55 warm up not fund again and that homes are safe. | :07:48. | :07:52.
People in Talybont also welcomed the scheme to protect their homes but | :07:53. | :07:56.
some wish it could have been done sooner before the house was flooded | :07:57. | :07:59.
by the second time in just a few years. | :08:00. | :08:01.
A jury at the Old Bailey has retired to consider its verdict in the case | :08:02. | :08:05.
of three men accused of helping a teenager from Cardiff to join | :08:06. | :08:07.
militants from the Islamic State group in Syria. | :08:08. | :08:09.
The men, including Kristen Brek from the Grangetown area | :08:10. | :08:12.
of the city, are charged with assisting in the preparation | :08:13. | :08:14.
Tata Steel has reported a net loss of ?215 million in the last quarter | :08:15. | :08:20.
of 2015 across its business in Europe and India. | :08:21. | :08:26.
Last month the company announced hundreds of job losses at its works | :08:27. | :08:29.
The Indian company said that despite rising demand for steel, | :08:30. | :08:33.
it has been hit by a flood of cheap imports. | :08:34. | :08:37.
An inquest in Cardiff has heard how a father-of-three choked to death | :08:38. | :08:41.
while trying to eat a McDonald's cheeseburger in one go. | :08:42. | :08:54.
burger following a night out drinking with friends. | :08:55. | :08:58.
A verdict of death by misadventure has been recorded. | :08:59. | :09:06.
The headmaster of a Newport secondary school has criticised | :09:07. | :09:08.
the way the Council has handled the planning of a new Welsh language | :09:09. | :09:11.
Parents are meeting tonight to discuss the rejection of plans | :09:12. | :09:15.
to build a new Welsh school on the site of Duffryn High School. | :09:16. | :09:18.
The headmaster, Jon Wilson, says the whole situation | :09:19. | :09:20.
is a "mess." Newport Council says it's committed to investing | :09:21. | :09:22.
A new report on cancer in Wales has shown that an estimated 40% of cases | :09:23. | :09:27.
could have been prevented by tackling smoking, | :09:28. | :09:29.
The figures show a 14% rise in new cancer cases in the ten years | :09:30. | :09:33.
to 2014, mainly due to people living longer. | :09:34. | :09:35.
It also found a clear link between lung cancer and inequality | :09:36. | :09:38.
in Wales, with survival rates among the lowest in Europe. | :09:39. | :09:42.
Getting older is the main risk factor for most cancers, | :09:43. | :09:45.
but also we've noticed that there are increases beginning | :09:46. | :09:51.
in middle age and younger pensioners and many of these are partly | :09:52. | :09:54.
preventable cancers, so that's important. | :09:55. | :10:00.
Four general election candidates for Ukip Wales are calling | :10:01. | :10:02.
for the party's leader here, Nathan Gill, to resign. | :10:03. | :10:06.
Joe Smith - the party's best performer in Wales at last year's | :10:07. | :10:10.
election - says he's been "weak" during the party's controversial | :10:11. | :10:14.
selection process ahead of the upcoming Assembly election. | :10:15. | :10:16.
Many in the party are also unhappy that the former Conservative MPs | :10:17. | :10:19.
Neil Hamilton and Mark Reckless are seeking seats. | :10:20. | :10:27.
I want Nathan Gill to resign as leader in Wales because of | :10:28. | :10:30.
the mess that we are in at the moment. | :10:31. | :10:32.
He has shown no leadership whatsoever. | :10:33. | :10:34.
He should have not allowed the situation to get as it is now. | :10:35. | :10:37.
He never listened to the members, activists and candidates in Wales, | :10:38. | :10:39.
Our political reporter Paul Martin is here. | :10:40. | :10:43.
It all centres on just how sought after the most winnable seats for | :10:44. | :10:56.
UKIP at the Assembly election are. There was fury amongst Welsh actress | :10:57. | :11:00.
last summer when it was decided that an Executive committee in London | :11:01. | :11:03.
would have the final say on selections. Nathan Gill announced | :11:04. | :11:07.
earlier this week that after old local members here will now get a | :11:08. | :11:11.
vote on ranking those selections but it hasn't satisfied everyone. There | :11:12. | :11:15.
are four now on the record all going for him to go over how he has | :11:16. | :11:19.
handled this and others are saying so privately. There is still support | :11:20. | :11:24.
for Mr Gill in the party. I spoke to one long-standing member is | :11:25. | :11:27.
happening and he said this. Nathan has not been week. Absolutely not. | :11:28. | :11:35.
Nathan will be leading this party, I can after you, into the Assembly | :11:36. | :11:39.
elections and he will be a very effective leader. So where does all | :11:40. | :11:44.
this leave the party? There are two immediate problems. Firstly getting | :11:45. | :11:48.
the members united behind Nathan Gill. Clearly at this age of the | :11:49. | :11:52.
electoral cycle this kind of position is not helpful. From an | :11:53. | :11:56.
organisational perspective is not as a thing. Secondly, getting these | :11:57. | :12:00.
selections finally sorted so the party can appoint sportspeople in | :12:01. | :12:04.
areas like health, education and inequality and get focused on | :12:05. | :12:08.
finalising the men's first to and focusing on the campaign. There is a | :12:09. | :12:11.
meeting of the Welsh committee this Saturday. I think it is going to be | :12:12. | :12:15.
very lively. We will hear more of that I am sure. Paul, thank you very | :12:16. | :12:17.
much. 150 jobs are under threat near Risca | :12:18. | :12:24.
after an American-based company confirmed its factory | :12:25. | :12:27.
there will close next year. Penny Giles in Cwmfelinfach makes | :12:28. | :12:29.
sensors and control equipment. Business as usual, at this | :12:30. | :12:31.
industrial estate here, workers, tightlipped, | :12:32. | :12:46.
but disappointed. Penny Giles was taken over | :12:47. | :12:47.
by the American group The company makes everything | :12:48. | :12:50.
from joysticks and censors to parts for control desks, it's equipment | :12:51. | :13:02.
used in a variety of industries Most of the sites are in America | :13:03. | :13:05.
but 1 is here in Wales. The workforce here have been told | :13:06. | :13:09.
to divert any questions about the future of this factory | :13:10. | :13:11.
to the company's headquarters From there a spokesman | :13:12. | :13:16.
told BBC Wales that this site will close | :13:17. | :13:24.
at some point next year. We asked about the possibility | :13:25. | :13:26.
of people transferring to other parts of the business, | :13:27. | :13:28.
a spokesman said he couldn't provide The company blames economic | :13:29. | :13:31.
conditions for this disappointing news, 9000 employees globally, | :13:32. | :13:37.
it seems few of that total will come Use it or lose it - | :13:38. | :13:40.
the message from Tenby Museum And Wales' women prepare | :13:41. | :13:49.
for their Six Nations opener against the reigning | :13:50. | :13:55.
champions Ireland. How much sugar is there | :13:56. | :14:03.
in a can of pop? A Welsh MP thinks we should be told | :14:04. | :14:06.
- and he's trying to change the law to force food and drinks companies | :14:07. | :14:11.
to reveal how many spoonfuls Here's our parliamentary | :14:12. | :14:14.
correspondent David Cornock. Obesity, it's a growing problem. One | :14:15. | :14:30.
in four Welsh children now overweight or obese risking their | :14:31. | :14:34.
health and an expensive bill for the NHS. One Welsh MP dings this may be | :14:35. | :14:39.
because they and their parents don't realise how much they eat. They | :14:40. | :14:44.
don't know there is nine spoonfuls in a can of fizzy drink and seven in | :14:45. | :14:49.
this yoghurt, which is more than a man and a woman are supposed to it. | :14:50. | :14:53.
People have the right to know what they are eating and they are | :14:54. | :14:56.
becoming ill and the graphics and deceit is going down. The cost of | :14:57. | :15:01.
obesity and diabetes is costing the nation billions. So is he right? | :15:02. | :15:05.
Would better labelling make a difference, we as some of the | :15:06. | :15:08.
constituents. Definitely should have been done a long time ago. I aways | :15:09. | :15:12.
check even if I buy some but something for the grandchildren. It | :15:13. | :15:17.
would make me think twice if it was a lot and if it said, it is beans | :15:18. | :15:22.
but if it was just a few, then it probably would get it. The proposed | :15:23. | :15:27.
law would force manufacturers to state how many teaspoons of sugar | :15:28. | :15:30.
the put in food ordering. The industry is not keen. I think it is | :15:31. | :15:33.
a really bad idea. For a number of reasons. Firstly obesity is caused | :15:34. | :15:40.
by excess calories, those could come from alcohol, saturated fat, five, | :15:41. | :15:45.
protein. Or they could come from sugar. So why would you single out | :15:46. | :15:50.
one particular nutrient? Better labelling is one idea. Plaid Cymru | :15:51. | :15:58.
say they've would also put a tax on sugary drinks and spend the cash | :15:59. | :16:03.
raised on the NHS. If more people are aware of the health impacts on | :16:04. | :16:09.
what was perceived to be healthy, if they believe it is going towards | :16:10. | :16:14.
something like more doctors and not into the general public purse. That | :16:15. | :16:18.
is also winning growing support at Westminster. The bill stands no | :16:19. | :16:23.
chance of becoming law due to lack of parliamentary time, but he does | :16:24. | :16:26.
hope it may yet become government policy. | :16:27. | :16:30.
Councillors in Carmarthenshire have rejected a proposal to build | :16:31. | :16:32.
a new waste processing and energy generation plant at Cwmgwili | :16:33. | :16:34.
Clean Power Properties wanted to turn people's rubbish | :16:35. | :16:38.
But planners recommended the proposal be refused, | :16:39. | :16:43.
saying emissions from the plant could impact the health of people | :16:44. | :16:45.

The latest audience figures show both of BBC Wales' radio stations | :17:04. | :17:06.

target. On her debut last year, Wales beat champions England for | :18:07. | :18:10.
only the second time in the history. She picked up the title of Army | :18:11. | :18:16.
sportswoman of the year. It's a far cry from when she spent the 2013 six | :18:17. | :18:23.
Nations. Back then she was a trip commander in Afghanistan, in charge | :18:24. | :18:26.
of 30 men, working in the surveillance, watching over patrols | :18:27. | :18:31.
and lookout for potential danger. Despite 18 hour days she told me she | :18:32. | :18:36.
still managed to find the time to train. Eager to continue playing | :18:37. | :18:42.
rugby on her return home. It's an experience I wouldn't trade for | :18:43. | :18:45.
anything because I learn a lot from myself and I'd grew as a person. | :18:46. | :18:49.
Being able to handle pressure, worked as a team leader, lead a | :18:50. | :18:56.
team, it all transfers to a rugby pitch. Probably hand in hand but | :18:57. | :19:01.
helpfully. Her team faces Ireland on Saturday. Both sides met last week | :19:02. | :19:06.
in a warm up match. Wales finished on top, 15-5. While the current | :19:07. | :19:11.
squad is preparing for the immediate task of facing Ireland, work to find | :19:12. | :19:14.
the next generation of players is already underway. Summer leagues and | :19:15. | :19:18.
more girls only teams have helped the growth of the game. A couple of | :19:19. | :19:26.
seasons ago just 179 to 15-year-olds were playing at special hobs set up | :19:27. | :19:31.
across the country. But that figure was up to more than 1300. Those | :19:32. | :19:36.
running the game here say a successful senior side will also | :19:37. | :19:39.
help raise the profile of this board. Performances have helped. We | :19:40. | :19:43.
had a good crowd last week against Ireland. Over 1000 I believe were | :19:44. | :19:46.
there to watch a good standard of rugby. It will draw in the crowds | :19:47. | :19:53.
moving forward. This year's six Nations is more important than | :19:54. | :19:57.
usual. Results will help decide who qualifies for the World Cup. Two | :19:58. | :20:01.
wins in the championship will guarantee Wales a place at the | :20:02. | :20:05.
tournament next year. We wish them well. | :20:06. | :20:06.
To the men's game, and after selecting Tom James | :20:07. | :20:08.
to start on the wing against Ireland this weekend, | :20:09. | :20:10.
Wales coach Warren Gatland says Hallam Amos isn't quick enough to be | :20:11. | :20:13.
Amos is being released back to the Dragons for tomorrow's game | :20:14. | :20:17.
at Ulster and Gatland says he sees him more as a fullback | :20:18. | :20:20.
I know he can cover on the wing and does play there, | :20:21. | :20:24.
but we do see his long-term position being full-back | :20:25. | :20:31.
and gave him the opportunity to exploit and work on improving | :20:32. | :20:34.
He is quick but he wouldn't be an international winger. | :20:35. | :20:44.
Swansea City's new striker Alberto Palosgi is expected | :20:45. | :20:47.
to start his first game for the club against Crystal Palace on Saturday. | :20:48. | :20:51.
The Italian, who cost ?8 million, came on from the bench in Tuesday's | :20:52. | :20:54.
draw against West Brom and nearly scored on his debut. | :20:55. | :20:57.
Manager Francesco Guidolin says he was impressed by his performance. | :20:58. | :21:05.
Alberto played well against West Brom. | :21:06. | :21:13.
Normally I decide the last day before the match, | :21:14. | :21:19.
but I think Alberto is ready for a game. | :21:20. | :21:23.
Tenby on the Pembrokeshire coast attracts plenty of visitors every | :21:24. | :21:26.
year but one of its oldest attractions has a blunt message - | :21:27. | :21:29.
come and visit us or we will be forced to close. | :21:30. | :21:32.
Wales' oldest independent museum opened in the town in 1878, | :21:33. | :21:38.
but following cuts to its funding it could be forced to shut its doors | :21:39. | :21:41.
Perched high above the sea, Tenby's Museum reigns over the history and | :21:42. | :21:57.
heritage of this town. Tenby Museum has got great collections. The | :21:58. | :22:02.
wonderful Augustus Gwen John collection which are really | :22:03. | :22:06.
unparalleled in the county. Those famous Welsh names helped draw in | :22:07. | :22:10.
17,000 visitors a year. But it is also a line on local authority | :22:11. | :22:16.
funding. That is drying up. It costs about 100,000 a year. We are going | :22:17. | :22:20.
to suffer a cut in funding of 10,000 from next year which is a big lump, | :22:21. | :22:26.
about 10%, of our overall income year-on-year. Councils don't have to | :22:27. | :22:30.
fund their local museums but most do. There are around 120 in Wales. | :22:31. | :22:36.
76 are run will receive some help from their local authority. With | :22:37. | :22:41.
councils across Wales spending ?9.3 million financing them. A Welsh | :22:42. | :22:45.
Government review into this sector found many were in a state of real | :22:46. | :22:50.
decline. To survive, there needs to be real reform. These challenges are | :22:51. | :22:55.
not going to throw people off their game. Museums will find new | :22:56. | :22:58.
collaborations, partnerships and a new way of working to still deliver | :22:59. | :23:02.
services in a really positive way. To the benefit of communities. Tenby | :23:03. | :23:08.
has cut staffing costs but is now making a direct appeal to the | :23:09. | :23:13.
community. Use it or lose it. If everybody who lives in Tenby bought | :23:14. | :23:18.
a ticket and came up here and that ticket is valid for a whole 12 | :23:19. | :23:21.
months. They can come back as often as they like and bring children into | :23:22. | :23:25.
for nothing, that would be such a big help. Pembrokeshire Council says | :23:26. | :23:30.
they least the building to the museum to peppercorn rent and they | :23:31. | :23:34.
cannot comment yet on what the next budget will bring. | :23:35. | :23:37.
Well, let's see how the weather is looking over the next few days. | :23:38. | :23:40.
After a couple of colder and brighter days we are back into mild | :23:41. | :23:51.
and unsettled weather. Turning wet and windy tomorrow. This evening | :23:52. | :23:55.
rain will continue on and off. Cloudy, Misty and murky. Spells of | :23:56. | :24:00.
drizzle especially in the hills. Dry by Don but strengthening winds. It | :24:01. | :24:06.
or 10 Celsius. Tomorrow starts tribe but this cold front pushing | :24:07. | :24:11.
south-east across Wales later on and through the night. Tomorrow will be | :24:12. | :24:14.
mostly cloudy. Some really bright spells and patchy drizzle. That | :24:15. | :24:19.
heavier rain will arrive from the north-west through the afternoon | :24:20. | :24:24.
slowly spreading south-east. Strong winds in the West, Gail possible | :24:25. | :24:30.
along the coast. Top temperatures of nine on Anglesey and 11th in | :24:31. | :24:34.
Newport. That cold fund will continue to bring a spell of heavy | :24:35. | :24:36.
rain clearing through the early hours of Saturday but further rain | :24:37. | :24:42.
arriving from the west by Don. Temperatures more like 4- yet | :24:43. | :24:48.
Celsius, cold behind that front. On Saturday further wind and rain from | :24:49. | :24:52.
this area of low pressure as these from Spanish in from the Atlantic. | :24:53. | :24:56.
The exact track of these is uncertain but it brings some very | :24:57. | :25:02.
unsettled weather. Some dry spells further east on Saturday but it | :25:03. | :25:05.
deteriorates through the day turning wet and windy. A Met Office warning | :25:06. | :25:12.
for heavier rain later on Saturday. The risk of gales. These are the | :25:13. | :25:17.
mean wind speeds. 29 or 30 mph but we could see ghosts of 50, 60 or | :25:18. | :25:22.
even 70 along the exposed coasts. Low pressure systems with this | :25:23. | :25:28.
unsettled Atlantic influence will make it changeable on Sunday. | :25:29. | :25:32.
Remaining windy. There could be a mix of sunny spells and blustery | :25:33. | :25:36.
showers on Sunday morning which could be wintry on high ground. More | :25:37. | :25:40.
rain is likely by Sunday night. Stronger winds again. And unsettled | :25:41. | :25:46.
weekend ahead. Very windy with some heavy rain at times, particularly on | :25:47. | :25:51.
Saturday. It could be potentially very windy on Monday stop quite | :25:52. | :25:56.
stormy conditions. Today's picture is from Mike Davis, a rainbow over | :25:57. | :26:01.
the Vale of Neath and we could see a few of these of the next few days. | :26:02. | :26:05.

latest video forecast online. Some very changeable weather to come over | :26:35. | :26:44.
the next few days. Lucy. A reminder of our main stories. World leaders | :26:45. | :26:49.
have spent nearly ?7 billion to help refugees displaced by the Syrian | :26:50. | :26:53.
conflict. David Cameron announced the funding at an international | :26:54. | :26:57.
conference but it was overshadowed by the extension of peace talks and | :26:58. | :26:59.
intense fighting on the ground. And Welsh ministers could get | :27:00. | :27:00.
their pay cut by 10% if the Conservatives win | :27:01. | :27:03.
the Assembly election in May. Their leader, Andrew RT Davies, | :27:04. | :27:05.
says the money saved would go towards getting young people | :27:06. | :27:08.
involved in politics. We'll have a quick update at 8pm, | :27:09. | :27:09.
more after the BBC News at Ten. We are being honest. We are being up | :27:10. | :27:23.
front. We are saying what we would do. If anyone would like to serve on | :27:24. | :27:26.
a Welsh Conservative Cabinet they would have to take a 10% pay cut, | :27:27. | :27:31.
plain and simple. No ifs, no buts, that is the measure. We will have a | :27:32. | :27:36.
quick update for you at 8pm and more after the BBC News at ten but that | :27:37. | :27:41.
is it for now. Thank you. Good evening and I will see you a bit | :27:42. | :27:43.
later, | :27:44. | :27:44. |
