That is all from the BBC News at Six. It's goodbye from me.

:00:00.:00:00.

Welcome to Wales Today. Our top stories.

:00:00.:00:00.

The Welsh Tory leader Andrew RT Davies says David Cameron's EU deal

:00:00.:00:08.

was not "robust" enough for him to vote for the UK to remain.

:00:09.:00:13.

There are very good arguments to stay in but I believe

:00:14.:00:16.

there are stronger arguments to come out of the European Union

:00:17.:00:19.

That is why I stuck to my guns and stuck to my principles.

:00:20.:00:38.

600 pupils, parents and teachers protest against plans

:00:39.:00:43.

If we don't even have a high school here, how is the town

:00:44.:00:50.

The battle over collecting your rubbish.

:00:51.:00:54.

The council piloting the collection of bins every four weeks.

:00:55.:01:00.

The former Conservative MP Neil Hamilton on the campaign

:01:01.:01:03.

against his bid to stand as a Ukip Assembly member.

:01:04.:01:08.

I was born in Wales, I grew up in Wales, I was educated

:01:09.:01:11.

in Wales both in school and university.

:01:12.:01:14.

Wales name their side to face France this Friday.

:01:15.:01:18.

He's one of three players brought into the team,

:01:19.:01:23.

Alex Cuthbert will start so too Jonathan Davies,

:01:24.:01:27.

The leader of the Welsh Conservatives says David Cameron's

:01:28.:01:35.

deal was not "robust" enough to convince him to vote to remain

:01:36.:01:39.

Andrew RT Davies will vote to leave the EU at the referendum on June

:01:40.:01:46.

23rd, but says his first priority is trying to win the

:01:47.:01:51.

Our political correspondent Daniel Davies reports.

:01:52.:01:59.

The most important election in a generation, he says.

:02:00.:02:04.

But this morning's questions were all about another vote.

:02:05.:02:07.

Politicians around here including Andrew RT Davies

:02:08.:02:11.

would rather the EU referendum was happening later

:02:12.:02:14.

The Assembly election would be overshadowed

:02:15.:02:21.

At that election the Tories hope to kick Labour out of office

:02:22.:02:27.

and occupy the corridors of power in the Welsh Government

:02:28.:02:30.

Between now and the Assembly election, your opponents will use

:02:31.:02:37.

every opportunity to remind voters that on Wales' place in Europe,

:02:38.:02:41.

Is that going to damage your Assembly election campaign?

:02:42.:02:47.

At the end of the day the Conservatives

:02:48.:02:50.

My vote, David Cameron's vote, is worth

:02:51.:02:54.

no more than your vote, than the lady or gentleman walking

:02:55.:02:57.

outside this building, than the lady or gentleman

:02:58.:02:59.

in Cardiff, Wrexham, Mold, the length and breadth of Wales

:03:00.:03:02.

The Tories united in celebration after last year's

:03:03.:03:09.

general election but now they are divided over Europe.

:03:10.:03:12.

Had Mr Davies discussed his views with the Prime Minister?

:03:13.:03:16.

Whatever those decision are taken, I will stand by them.

:03:17.:03:21.

Mr Davies is one of three Conservative AMs

:03:22.:03:24.

who have said they will vote to leave.

:03:25.:03:26.

Three more have confirmed that the remaining side.

:03:27.:03:30.

The other eight either haven't decided or are not saying.

:03:31.:03:34.

At the end of the day you have to decide what do you think

:03:35.:03:41.

is in the best interest of your constituency,

:03:42.:03:43.

your country and I've decided that I think we should go

:03:44.:03:45.

I think it is a good deal for Britain.

:03:46.:03:48.

On both sides of the debate, some declined to do interviews today

:03:49.:03:51.

but in the Senedd, Carwyn Jones was only too happy

:03:52.:03:54.

to comment claiming leaving the EU would take money out

:03:55.:03:57.

Where it is that money going to come from in the future?

:03:58.:04:03.

Where is it going to come from in the future?

:04:04.:04:05.

It cannot come from the Welsh Government,

:04:06.:04:07.

it is too much money for us to be able to afford.

:04:08.:04:10.

The reality is, Welsh farmers know where they stand at the moment

:04:11.:04:12.

and they will resist being invited to jump

:04:13.:04:15.

off the edge of the cliff in the hope there is a net

:04:16.:04:18.

on the other side as they have been invited to do by the Leader

:04:19.:04:21.

Mr Davies says he would fight for ways

:04:22.:04:24.

to get money from Westminster if funding was cut

:04:25.:04:26.

He paid tribute to the Prime Minister for negotiating hard

:04:27.:04:31.

on EU reform but in the end the deal on offer wasn't robust enough

:04:32.:04:35.

so he is following his instincts and voting to leave.

:04:36.:04:42.

Well, Daniel, is at the Senedd in Cardiff Bay.

:04:43.:04:47.

What motivated Mr Davies to make this announcement now?

:04:48.:04:53.

He felt he had to say something. The timing isn't ideal, a election in

:04:54.:04:59.

May and the referendum in June. Once the referendum was called it was

:05:00.:05:03.

inevitable people would ask Mr David Howie intended to vote. There will

:05:04.:05:08.

be some nervousness in the Tory party about losing votes to Ukip in

:05:09.:05:12.

the Assembly elections. The polls say they are on course to win seats

:05:13.:05:19.

here. It would do no harm for the Conservative leader to say he is a

:05:20.:05:23.

Eurosceptic as well. As he said today, he is following his

:05:24.:05:26.

instincts, sticking to his guns. He has always been a Eurosceptic and

:05:27.:05:31.

despite David Cameron's attempts to change the UK's status in the EU

:05:32.:05:37.

you, Mr Davies hasn't changed his mind. But he wants to fight the

:05:38.:05:42.

election without distractions. He is facing a big distraction all of his

:05:43.:05:43.

own making. What effect would remaining

:05:44.:05:45.

or leaving the EU have on business? Well some large companies employing

:05:46.:05:47.

over 14,000 people in Wales are calling for the UK to remain

:05:48.:05:51.

part of the European Union. Airbus, BT and Ford are among those

:05:52.:05:56.

who've told BBC Wales that jobs and growth will be better

:05:57.:06:00.

served by being in the EU. Those campagning for us

:06:01.:06:04.

to leave the EU say trade will continue

:06:05.:06:08.

even if the UK left. Here's our business

:06:09.:06:10.

correspondent, Brian Meechan. The sum of Wales 's biggest

:06:11.:06:24.

employers. The Basque government identifies these anchor companies as

:06:25.:06:28.

global organisations with a headquarters based here. -- the

:06:29.:06:34.

Welsh Government. Airbus wings are made in Broughton on the side and

:06:35.:06:38.

transported to Toulouse where the planes are assembled. The company's

:06:39.:06:42.

boss is one of those who signed the letter that King EU membership. We

:06:43.:06:47.

are committed to our operations in the UK whether we're or out. The is

:06:48.:06:53.

you about is investment for the future. Where do the new jobs come

:06:54.:06:59.

from? Where does the growth happen? It is about creating the

:07:00.:07:05.

environment, the operational competitiveness. Airbus employs 6000

:07:06.:07:14.

people in Wales. BT has 3000 workers well Centrica, which owns British

:07:15.:07:22.

Gas, employs 2200. Ford has nearly a thousand people. Toyota which

:07:23.:07:27.

employs nearly 500 has also said being in the EU is best for the

:07:28.:07:32.

business. None of the anchor companies have argued they would

:07:33.:07:35.

like the UK to leave although some decline to comment. Today's letter

:07:36.:07:39.

in the Times was signed by some of the biggest companies operating in

:07:40.:07:43.

the UK. What a large percentage of the Welsh workforce is employed by

:07:44.:07:49.

small and medium-sized companies like the ones operating on this

:07:50.:07:53.

industry and state income Brown. It seems they have a slightly divided

:07:54.:07:58.

view on the benefits and drawbacks of EU membership. They will be those

:07:59.:08:03.

that are benefiting from access to the European market. There will be

:08:04.:08:07.

those who are benefiting from the supply of labour but there are those

:08:08.:08:12.

who are struggling with European regulation. They want to the facts

:08:13.:08:16.

of the arguments both for and against.

:08:17.:08:19.

We have got that. This industrial estate is expanding but that has

:08:20.:08:23.

nothing to do with the EU. According to his critics. Ken is a former Ukip

:08:24.:08:29.

candidates who runs a printing firm. He says it is the bigger companies

:08:30.:08:34.

that are benefiting. Some companies can gain from cheap foreign labour.

:08:35.:08:40.

We are not one of them. The cheap foreign labour has done damage to

:08:41.:08:47.

the employment market in the UK. People are fearful of it again. We

:08:48.:08:51.

have heard from some of those with an interest in the outcome of the

:08:52.:08:55.

referendum today but they will be more companies getting involved in

:08:56.:09:00.

the debate in the coming months. Now the rest of the day 's news.

:09:01.:09:02.

cancelled some operations because of high numbers of patients.

:09:03.:09:06.

80 additional beds have been put in place across its hospitals to try

:09:07.:09:09.

Other hospitals across Wales say they're extremely busy

:09:10.:09:13.

and are urging people to visit emergency departments

:09:14.:09:15.

An ex-Scoutmaster who was jailed for 12 years in 2014 for abusing

:09:16.:09:24.

boys, was back in court today where he admitted to charges

:09:25.:09:28.

Martyn Tucker pleaded guilty at Caernarfon Crown Court to 28

:09:29.:09:33.

offences of indecent assault spanning an 18 year period.

:09:34.:09:40.

More than 600 schoolchildren, parents and teachers have been

:09:41.:09:43.

protesting at plans to re-organise secondary education in Powys.

:09:44.:09:48.

The council wants to close Llandrindod and Builth Wales High

:09:49.:09:51.

School and build a new school in Builth Wales.

:09:52.:09:54.

It also wants to replace two schools in Brecon

:09:55.:09:57.

The cabinet has voted for a full consultation to be carried out.

:09:58.:10:05.

Rather than double maths it was a silent demonstration

:10:06.:10:10.

They were protesting against Powys Council's shake up

:10:11.:10:14.

Llandrindod and Builth Wales High School and a new school being built

:10:15.:10:22.

A petition with more than 1,300 signatures on it was handed

:10:23.:10:28.

What I'm particularly concerned about is the impact

:10:29.:10:31.

At the moment there are three schools in special measures in this

:10:32.:10:37.

Indeed, I haven't got a problem with that.

:10:38.:10:41.

What I have got a problem with is the school being sited

:10:42.:10:44.

The impact on this town and the students who are here

:10:45.:10:47.

would be highly negative, in my opinion.

:10:48.:10:49.

Over 600 pupils, teachers and parents have turned up here

:10:50.:10:51.

this morning to protest and handing in a petition

:10:52.:10:54.

This the secondary school here for well over 50 years

:10:55.:11:01.

and these people don't want to lose it.

:11:02.:11:03.

Llandrindod Wales is a small-town of a

:11:04.:11:04.

population of just under 6,000 people.

:11:05.:11:06.

If it even didn't have a high school here how is that town

:11:07.:11:09.

If it goes it'll be a great loss to the community.

:11:10.:11:15.

It is a major thing in the town and I

:11:16.:11:18.

feel very passionate about it and so do other people.

:11:19.:11:21.

At a packed meeting councillors approved a recommendation to consult

:11:22.:11:23.

on a merger of Llandrindod and Builth Wales high schools,

:11:24.:11:25.

as well as a consultation on the closure of Brecon High

:11:26.:11:29.

and Gwernyfed school, to establish a new English medium

:11:30.:11:31.

The council says with three schools in special measures and pupil

:11:32.:11:36.

numbers dropping by around 800 in four years they had

:11:37.:11:40.

We can't offer a sustainable curriculum and a satisfactory

:11:41.:11:49.

The consultation will start in September but these pupils

:11:50.:11:55.

protesting already fear this could be beginning of the end

:11:56.:11:58.

How often do your black bins get collected?

:11:59.:12:03.

Every week? Every two weeks?

:12:04.:12:04.

Well some people living in the Conwy council area are set to move

:12:05.:12:08.

to black bin collections once every four weeks.

:12:09.:12:11.

Councillors there voted today to trial the idea in an attempt

:12:12.:12:15.

Roger Pinney is at Conwy's Council headquarters now.

:12:16.:12:29.

Conwy Council in common with other local authorities facing pressures

:12:30.:12:36.

here. The recycling target and shrinking budgets. The initial

:12:37.:12:40.

proposal was to introduce four weekly bin collections right across

:12:41.:12:44.

the county. That would keep 3000 tonnes of waste and save half ?1

:12:45.:12:52.

million a year. There was opposition to that so instead the council has

:12:53.:12:58.

opted for a compromise. Green beans, recycling bins, will be collected

:12:59.:13:05.

once a week but black bins come a non-recyclable is, will move from

:13:06.:13:08.

being collected once every two weeks to once every three weeks. They will

:13:09.:13:14.

be this pilot area, the very first in Wales, where black bins,

:13:15.:13:18.

non-recyclable is, will only be collected once every four weeks.

:13:19.:13:23.

Dave Cowans is the council cabinet member responsible for waste

:13:24.:13:24.

collection. It demonstrates that

:13:25.:13:26.

Conwy is a transparent A guarded approach was adopted

:13:27.:13:27.

by Cabinet, one which I think on reflection will

:13:28.:13:31.

provide the data we will need to justify

:13:32.:13:34.

a four weekly collection. We cannot, and I emphasise

:13:35.:13:39.

this, we cannot continue to sustain using ?1.5 million

:13:40.:13:41.

of taxpayers money in a hole You say there was opposition will

:13:42.:13:56.

stop there was. Council officials here believe that

:13:57.:13:59.

four weekly bin collections in the long term are inevitable right

:14:00.:14:04.

across the county. Not just here in Conwy. The opposition is worried

:14:05.:14:07.

about things like fly-tipping, smells, dog waste, sanitary waste.

:14:08.:14:14.

Among those voicing the concerns is the Conservative Assembly Member for

:14:15.:14:15.

Clwyd West, Darren Millar. A lot of people will be pleased

:14:16.:14:18.

that they have abandoned the wholesale introduction

:14:19.:14:20.

of four weekly collections for the time

:14:21.:14:22.

being but there will still be a lot of concern amongst families

:14:23.:14:25.

with children and amongst other people who produce lots of pet

:14:26.:14:27.

waste, for example, that even a three weekly collection is taking

:14:28.:14:29.

those collection periods for too The council says it all into dos

:14:30.:14:47.

mitigating measures in the pilot area including things like extra

:14:48.:14:51.

bins for large families, weekly nappy collections. As to where the

:14:52.:14:55.

pilots will be, that has yet to be decided.

:14:56.:14:55.

Much more to come before seven o'clock.

:14:56.:14:58.

28 all girls teams to be set up across the country.

:14:59.:15:09.

The adventurer from Old Colwyn is the first person to walk

:15:10.:15:14.

The former Conservative MP Neil Hamilton has

:15:15.:15:22.

defended his attempt to stand for Ukip at this summer's

:15:23.:15:26.

The party has launched an investigation after an anonymous

:15:27.:15:30.

leaflet criticising Mr Hamilton was sent to party members.

:15:31.:15:33.

In an email to members, leaked to BBC Wales,

:15:34.:15:36.

a Ukip official says the matter may be referred to the police.

:15:37.:15:40.

Here's our political reporter Paul Martin.

:15:41.:15:44.

Most experts agree Ukip is on course for a handful of seats this summer

:15:45.:15:50.

but is Neil Hamilton in line for one of them?

:15:51.:15:53.

Clearly recognisable, he and his wife, Christine,

:15:54.:15:57.

They may soon be spending a lot more time here.

:15:58.:16:01.

Many people in Ukip Wales have had some pretty

:16:02.:16:05.

brutal things to say about Neil Hamilton over

:16:06.:16:07.

They say he has been parachuted into this contest

:16:08.:16:11.

and that he is an outsider when it comes to Welsh politics.

:16:12.:16:15.

I was born in Wales, I grew up in Wales, I was educated

:16:16.:16:22.

in Wales both at school and university.

:16:23.:16:24.

My father was the chief engineer for the coal board in Wales.

:16:25.:16:28.

He had an office just across the water there

:16:29.:16:30.

in the early 1970s before he retired.

:16:31.:16:33.

I am just as Welsh now as I was then.

:16:34.:16:36.

But some feel the Hamiltons carry baggage stemming from the cash

:16:37.:16:41.

for questions saga of the 90s which cost Mr Hamilton

:16:42.:16:44.

The Guardian newspaper alleged he had taken money

:16:45.:16:49.

Years of litigation followed and Mr Hamilton has always

:16:50.:16:55.

A lot of stuff has been said about me, which is untrue,

:16:56.:17:00.

My probity has been questioned and yet I've been through a massive

:17:01.:17:07.

investigation by the Inland Revenue, all my finances over ten separate

:17:08.:17:09.

tax years and I came out of it whiter than white.

:17:10.:17:12.

Now the party has launched an investigation into this anonymous

:17:13.:17:15.

leaflet sent to members last week urging them not to vote

:17:16.:17:19.

for Neal Hamilton as a regional candidate.

:17:20.:17:22.

Mr Hamilton says the leaflet is libellous.

:17:23.:17:25.

It is the latest twist in a messy selection

:17:26.:17:28.

process that has been going on for months.

:17:29.:17:31.

Every week seems to bring a different bad news story for Ukip.

:17:32.:17:35.

That said, they are still doing incredibly well in the polls.

:17:36.:17:37.

They could win as many as nine seats at

:17:38.:17:39.

But if this culture of infighting continues it might be difficult

:17:40.:17:43.

for those Assembly Members to work together

:17:44.:17:46.

and bring about the change that Ukip wants to see in Wales.

:17:47.:17:49.

We still don't know who will be picked for

:17:50.:17:51.

the most winnable regional seays for Ukip at the election.

:17:52.:17:54.

Members have until a week Friday to vote for their favoured candidates.

:17:55.:17:57.

Once the votes are in, we will have a better idea

:17:58.:18:00.

of the Hamiltons chances of making Cardiff Bay

:18:01.:18:03.

The Welsh Government has agreed to route a planned bypass away

:18:04.:18:10.

News of the Wales team to face France now.

:18:11.:18:12.

Here's Tomos with all of tonight's sport.

:18:13.:18:15.

There are three changes from the side that beat Scotland,

:18:16.:18:17.

one forced on Wales because of an injury

:18:18.:18:19.

Centre Jonathan Davies is fit to start.

:18:20.:18:22.

Coach Warren Gatland says he's looking for the players

:18:23.:18:24.

to step-up their performance against France.

:18:25.:18:26.

A win would send them to the top of the Six Nations Championship.

:18:27.:18:30.

He picked up his 50th cap against Scotland.

:18:31.:18:33.

The injury Jonathan Davies picked up in that game won't keep

:18:34.:18:36.

him out of the France game this Friday.

:18:37.:18:38.

He joins a backline largely unchanged.

:18:39.:18:41.

Gareth Davies and Dan Biggar start again.

:18:42.:18:46.

It'll be Jonathan Davies and Jamie Roberts's 42nd game

:18:47.:18:48.

together in the centre, a record for Wales.

:18:49.:18:51.

The only change in the back sees Alex Cuthbert handed a first start

:18:52.:18:55.

in this year's Six Nations, replacing his team-mate

:18:56.:18:58.

at the Blues, Tom James, who isn't on the bench either.

:18:59.:19:02.

James came close to scoring against Scotland, his failure

:19:03.:19:08.

to cross the line is partly the reason

:19:09.:19:10.

he has been dropped according to one former winger.

:19:11.:19:14.

I think he has played exceptionally well for Cardiff Blues.

:19:15.:19:18.

He's put his hand up and come out very well.

:19:19.:19:20.

But that opportunity, I think, at international level you probably

:19:21.:19:22.

got to finish them off and I think that is what has taken a bearing

:19:23.:19:26.

In the forwards, the front row remains the same.

:19:27.:19:29.

Bradley Davies comes into the second row replacing Luke Charteris.

:19:30.:19:34.

He hasn't recovered from a knee injury.

:19:37.:19:39.

switching to a more familiar role of open side flanker.

:19:40.:19:42.

France training in Paris today will name their side tomorrow.

:19:43.:19:50.

They are unbeaten so far after wins over Ireland and Italy.

:19:51.:19:53.

But they haven't got the better of Wales since a World Cup semifinal

:19:54.:19:57.

The roof will be closed for the match.

:19:58.:20:02.

Staying with rugby, and the girls game here is about to be transformed

:20:03.:20:05.

with the creation of a new season in the summer.

:20:06.:20:08.

28 teams, based at centres around the country, will be set up

:20:09.:20:12.

and will help cater for the recent demand from girls to play rugby,

:20:13.:20:15.

Gemma Rollins, centre. Tyler Clark, neutered rugby. Karen, centre,

:20:16.:20:35.

women's rugby team. The current stars mixing with the

:20:36.:20:40.

potential talent of tomorrow. With the experienced grand slam winning

:20:41.:20:44.

format Wales captain, Ryan Jones, leading the way it is spring and

:20:45.:20:48.

summer all girl rugby initiative has been launched. It is fantastic to

:20:49.:20:53.

see these girls who have come here today. We have had a great time and

:20:54.:20:57.

enjoyed themselves. They want to know when they can do it again. That

:20:58.:21:01.

is what rugby is about. We are engaging whole new generation of

:21:02.:21:05.

boys and girls. But there is work to be done. Girls playing organised

:21:06.:21:10.

rugby in Wales has not played a prominent part in club and school

:21:11.:21:14.

sports culture. Their clubs are few and far between. We've got some

:21:15.:21:18.

pockets of excellence were going on between either consolidated effort

:21:19.:21:22.

so girls can play rugby in format of their choice and having enough

:21:23.:21:26.

members to play fixtures, festivals, competitions. We need to make sure

:21:27.:21:29.

that growth happens in a sustained way. The season will start after

:21:30.:21:34.

Easter and run from April to July. With girls only team set up by 28

:21:35.:21:38.

cluster centres around the country. From Monmouth, to mould,. I'm glad

:21:39.:21:47.

they don't think it is just for boys. It is fair bet some people

:21:48.:21:52.

will think girls are not capable of doing it because they are not strong

:21:53.:21:56.

enough. I think we are. We had a strong as boys. It is good that boys

:21:57.:22:02.

and girls can do it was due think you carry on as Mac probably.

:22:03.:22:07.

Women's rugby is expediency huge growth around the world. Rugby

:22:08.:22:11.

sevens will be an Olympic event and the Wales team at the Six Nations

:22:12.:22:14.

are preparing to welcome the French this Sunday on the back of a win

:22:15.:22:18.

over Scotland. That game was a must win for us. We are happy to get the

:22:19.:22:23.

result. Knowing we didn't play as well as we could have, we are

:22:24.:22:26.

confident we can put on a show against France was not successful

:22:27.:22:30.

the national team is sure to attract more talented sportswomen which in

:22:31.:22:33.

turn will help secure a bright future for the game.

:22:34.:22:40.

It has been confirmed within the last few minutes that Cory Allen is

:22:41.:22:47.

out for the rest of the season after injuring his leg against Leinster on

:22:48.:22:49.

Saturday. That just then. Last summer we brought you the story

:22:50.:22:55.

of a young adventurer about to embark on his latest

:22:56.:22:58.

incredible journey. Well, six months and 1,600 miles

:22:59.:23:00.

later, Ash Dykes has become the first person to walk the entire

:23:01.:23:03.

length of Madagascar solo. The 25-year-old from Old Colwyn

:23:04.:23:05.

in Conwy worked with a number People have walked the length of the

:23:06.:23:23.

island before. But that is to evidence that anyone has walked the

:23:24.:23:25.

mountains rage of the island. Having trecked through Mongolia last

:23:26.:23:26.

year, 2016 saw Ash climbing the spine of the African

:23:27.:23:29.

island, Madagascar. It was tough, it was much

:23:30.:23:31.

tougher than I expected. I think the Mongolia

:23:32.:23:33.

expedition gave me confidence and I

:23:34.:23:35.

underrated Madagascar. To complete Madagascar

:23:36.:23:36.

it was just so difficult. The toughest bit was probably up

:23:37.:23:46.

north in the jungles. Putting your back through it,

:23:47.:23:49.

crawling on your hands and knees. I caught malaria

:23:50.:23:56.

which was terrifying. My temperature was 40 Celsius,

:23:57.:24:00.

the doctors believe I only had But she got on the case,

:24:01.:24:06.

gave me medication when He came back fighting

:24:07.:24:10.

fit ready to go again. When he wasn't avoiding crocodiles,

:24:11.:24:14.

Ash was having other We had to build a raft

:24:15.:24:18.

using natural resources We all gathered on the raft

:24:19.:24:23.

to get ourselves across. We almost lost the camerawoman

:24:24.:24:29.

at night time to a really strong river crossing

:24:30.:24:33.

which was probably the most We were lucky to survive

:24:34.:24:35.

that, all of us. Ash regularly stayed overnight

:24:36.:24:40.

with the locals he met Always nice to wake up

:24:41.:24:42.

to a tribal community. The people were amazing,

:24:43.:24:46.

so hospitable, so helpful. There was a section in the middle

:24:47.:24:49.

of the island where they have not seen a westerner before

:24:50.:24:54.

and when they saw me and a local Madagascee,

:24:55.:24:56.

they would sprint for their lives. He even picked up

:24:57.:24:59.

a travelling companion. Our last hour together

:25:00.:25:02.

before I set him free. I carried a male white chicken,

:25:03.:25:14.

named Gertrude, for two and half weeks.

:25:15.:25:14.

The locals say you have to, it keeps away the bad spirits

:25:15.:25:17.

He was set free at the top of the summit.

:25:18.:25:21.

Adjusting to life back home, Ash won't be settling

:25:22.:25:23.

I'm planning my next big adventure which is just as crazy.

:25:24.:25:29.

I can't give anything away, unfortunately.

:25:30.:25:33.

There are a few different ideas and each one of them

:25:34.:25:35.

It has been a lovely day here for many of us. What has the forecast

:25:36.:25:46.

install? Chilly but dry.

:25:47.:25:50.

Lovely sunshine. This picture taken by our weather

:25:51.:25:54.

watcher Ann Riggs in Pembrokeshire shows blue sky and cumulus

:25:55.:25:57.

clouds over Trefin Bay. While in Rhyl, there was hardly

:25:58.:25:59.

a cloud in the sky this afternoon. The air over us has come

:26:00.:26:02.

from the Arctic and with a clear sky this evening temperatures

:26:03.:26:05.

are dropping quickly. Colder than last night.

:26:06.:26:07.

Around freezing on the coast. Minus five in central Wales

:26:08.:26:09.

with a widespread sharp frost. Tomorrow's chart shows high pressure

:26:10.:26:14.

to the west of Ireland. So here's the picture

:26:15.:26:18.

for eight in the morning. Cold and frosty but dry,

:26:19.:26:20.

bright and crisp. A few clouds over the Irish Sea

:26:21.:26:22.

with the odd shower on Anglesey. During the day, a few clouds

:26:23.:26:30.

will develop inland. The odd light shower in the north

:26:31.:26:33.

and on the west coast. But no more than that.

:26:34.:26:38.

Most places dry with sunny spells. Temperatures a little lower

:26:39.:26:43.

than today after a colder start. Reaching five to eight Celsius

:26:44.:26:46.

with a mainly light winds. In Denbighshire dry

:26:47.:26:51.

with sunny spells. The odd light shower

:26:52.:26:53.

possible in the afternoon. After a frosty start

:26:54.:26:57.

temperatures will reach In Bridgend tomorrow,

:26:58.:26:59.

frost then fine and mostly sunny. Tomorrow night a few showers,

:27:00.:27:04.

heavy and wintry in places, Some dry, clear weather as well

:27:05.:27:10.

with frost and one or two A few scattered showers

:27:11.:27:14.

but still some dry, bright Low pressure near Cornwall may bring

:27:15.:27:20.

a little rain and snow on high ground but there is a chance

:27:21.:27:30.

it could stay dry. The forecast for the weekend is more

:27:31.:27:33.

certain with a cold north easterly wind and it

:27:34.:27:36.

should be mostly dry. So after all the wind and rain

:27:37.:27:40.

this winter, the next couple of days much more settled with sunshine,

:27:41.:27:43.

frost and a few showers. It's coming up to seven o clock,

:27:44.:27:47.

the main stories from the BBC. The Leader of the Welsh

:27:48.:27:50.

Conservatives says David Cameron's deal was not "robust" enough

to convince him to vote to remain I'll have an update for you here
