Drones are being increasingly used in our skies, but there's been

a rise in complaints about them to police.

Wales goes to the polls in the fifth National Assembly election.

And, images of the First World War battle where so many Welshmen fell.

The exhibition marking 100 years after Mametz Wood.

BBC Wales has learned that complaints to police about drones

have increased in most parts of the country.

There were more than 50 incidents over the past year, but no serious

A so-called task force to look at the issue across Europe

No near misses involving drones have been reported in Wales,

and while complaints are low, they are increasing in most places.

Gwent Police reported no incidents between 2011 and 2014,

but in the past year there were 19 complaints.

None which led to injury, and there were no prosecutions.

South Wales Police have received 38 complaints in the past year,

five warnings handed out about flying in prohibited areas.

Dyfed-Powys Police has had nine complaints in the past year,

Only North Wales Police did not see an increase,

The battle of Mametz Wood was one of the bloodiest

of the First World War, killing and injuring thousands

July this year is the 100th anniversary of the battle,

and as part of the commemorations a new exhibition is displaying some

They are the images of a battle where so many Welshmen died.

At Mametz Wood, 4,000 were killed or injured in a war that

would eventually claim 8 million lives.

The National Museum in Cardiff has brought together the art inspired

by Mametz Wood to remind a new generation about

War's Hell is the name of the exhibition, and this painting

by the pacifist Christopher Williams aimed to convey the real hell

It was painted shortly after the battle.

The artist from Maesteg was not a soldier, but travelled

to the Somme to paint a canvas that would hang in Downing Street

He was a lifelong pacifist and member of the Fabian Society.

To take on a commission like this was a big thing for him,

but he had something he wanted to say.

There are modern war artists, like Dan Peterson, who was a TA

with the Parachute Regiment and who painted the Queen's Tribune Guards

More recently he was with the Royal Navy as they rescued

migrants in the Mediterranean, giving his own interpretation

It is really important in the same way that poetry needs to be written,

certain types of documentaries need to be made, and certain artists need

to be allowed to give a different perspective.

In military terms the battle of Mametz Wood was a success,

gaining the ground for the British and forcing the Germans

But the huge sacrifice paid by men from Wales remained among

the darkest moments of the war and survives in art to remind

us of the lives lost a hundred years on.

We can expect much more of the same. If anything, it is getting warmer as

we head into the weekend. It stays dry today and tomorrow. Lots of

sunshine as we go through the afternoon. The wind is light, it

feels pleasantly warm, but we have high UV levels. Take care with that.

The temperature is responding to the sunshine. We can look forward to

some fine evening sunshine, but we have some high pollen levels.

Tonight, it is sunny for a time. Once the sun sets, clear skies, the

wind remains light, but it should not be as cold as the last few

nights. Most of us will get away with a frost free night. Tomorrow,

low-pressure starting to approach from the south. We can look forward

to plenty of dry weather. First thing tomorrow, sunshine around,

cloud will increase from the south, that will make the sunshine hazy,

but it is another fine and warm day. The wind is like. Another quiet

night to come tomorrow night. The odd coastal shower, but most of us

can look forward to a dry night. Look at the overnight temperatures.

We have some thundery showers in the forecast through Saturday, but by

the afternoon, they will ease, looking hot and humid by the time we
