That's all from the BBC News at Six, so it's goodbye from me,

:00:00.:00:00.

Welcome to Wales Today. Tonight's headlines:

:00:00.:00:00.

Vigils are held across Wales in memory of the

:00:00.:00:00.

Welsh colleagues and friends pay tribute.

:00:07.:00:13.

She was prepared to fight on every front for justice, fair play,

:00:14.:00:17.

common-sense and this was a woman that couldn't be suppressed.

:00:18.:00:39.

Stuart Bates and his son Fraser, died after being hit by a car.

:00:40.:00:44.

A 22-year-old man pleads guilty to causing death

:00:45.:00:46.

The call for a crackdown on taxi drivers who break the law

:00:47.:00:52.

by refusing to take guide dogs in their cabs.

:00:53.:00:56.

I asked, was it because of my guide dog?

:00:57.:00:59.

They then attempted to drive away while I was still leaning on

:01:00.:01:02.

We asked what you would do, if you were in charge of Wales.

:01:03.:01:09.

Now we're passing on your ideas to the First Minister.

:01:10.:01:13.

And following defeat against England, the Wales squad

:01:14.:01:16.

are back in Brittany preparing to face Russia on Monday night.

:01:17.:01:28.

Vigils have been held tonight to remember the Labour MP Jo Cox ,

:01:29.:01:32.

who died after being shot and stabbed in her west

:01:33.:01:35.

Politicians here have been paying tribute to the 41-year-old,

:01:36.:01:39.

described by former Labour leader Lord Kinnock as someone who fought

:01:40.:01:44.

Referendum campaigning across the country has been

:01:45.:01:49.

suspended as our political editor Nick Servini reports.

:01:50.:01:54.

She may have been tiny in stature but her determination, love and

:01:55.:01:58.

It happened in Yorkshire but the impact of the

:01:59.:02:03.

killing of Jo Cox has had much wider repercussions.

:02:04.:02:07.

Tonight, vigils were held in Swansea and Cardiff, the

:02:08.:02:10.

emotions were still raw for the former leader

:02:11.:02:13.

of the Labour Party, Lord Kinnock, as he gave this

:02:14.:02:16.

personal recollection of the 41-year-old.

:02:17.:02:22.

Steve, our son, her colleague, spoke of her last night.

:02:23.:02:27.

She would identify a problem and she would pursue it.

:02:28.:02:37.

She was prepared to fight on every front.

:02:38.:02:39.

Her constituency has lost a real champion for those people.

:02:40.:02:49.

Facing the public, the Pontypridd MP Owen Smith holds a

:02:50.:02:56.

The death of Jo Cox has sparked a wider debate about the security

:02:57.:03:02.

But he believes that can only go so far.

:03:03.:03:09.

This is my office, it is right in the middle on the Main Street

:03:10.:03:12.

People know exactly where that office is.

:03:13.:03:15.

I go to the rugby on a Saturday, my kids go to school

:03:16.:03:19.

here and in all of those ways I am a very public

:03:20.:03:22.

I wouldn't want that to change, not for a minute.

:03:23.:03:27.

If it did change it would fundamentally change the

:03:28.:03:29.

nature of the relationship between the MP and the people you represent.

:03:30.:03:33.

A number of MPs have warned that threatening and abusive behaviour

:03:34.:03:37.

Owen Smith says much of that is online.

:03:38.:03:43.

People were tweeting me yesterday saying, I'm surprised more

:03:44.:03:47.

of you don't get attacked in this fashion.

:03:48.:03:49.

What I do with those people is I just block

:03:50.:03:52.

them, I don't bother torespond to them.

:03:53.:03:54.

It is a pretty ugly thing for someone to think that

:03:55.:03:56.

This has shed light on a hidden part of the job of being an MP, the

:03:57.:04:12.

constituency work. Most of them have offices in busy town centres like

:04:13.:04:18.

this one in Pontypridd. Access to them from the public isn't just an

:04:19.:04:23.

add-on of the job but a fundamental part of what they do. It is

:04:24.:04:28.

representing their constituents. This has touched all parties. The

:04:29.:04:33.

conservative former Welsh Secretary David Jones was determined to carry

:04:34.:04:37.

on with business as usual at a care home summer party in his Clwyd West

:04:38.:04:44.

constituency. All MPs are being encouraged to review their own

:04:45.:04:47.

security arrangements. As you might imagine immediately after the

:04:48.:04:51.

incident yesterday would receive messages from the police and the

:04:52.:04:56.

Palace authorities to review our security. We are all aware of it but

:04:57.:05:01.

the most important thing is we should always strike a balance. In

:05:02.:05:06.

respect of Jo Cox campaigning in the referendum has been cancelled

:05:07.:05:08.

throughout the Daily Mail is like elsewhere in the UK. Tevez's BBC

:05:09.:05:14.

Wales television debate in Swansea and senior figures on both sides has

:05:15.:05:19.

also been cancelled. It is a day for paying respects at a formal level in

:05:20.:05:25.

Wales and at a personal one as well. After the death of a politician that

:05:26.:05:29.

many find shocking. The real as pouring of grief today

:05:30.:05:31.

across Wales as elsewhere. Because of the shocking nature of it

:05:32.:05:40.

and an attack on an elected politician is an attack on the

:05:41.:05:45.

system. It has certainly thrown up a range of talking points. One of them

:05:46.:05:52.

is how do we protect our politicians? Short of airport style

:05:53.:05:57.

security at constituency offices or near permanent presence by local

:05:58.:06:01.

police officers, it is difficult to do that. We all like the easy access

:06:02.:06:07.

they could have with our local MPs and AMs. Putting them in some

:06:08.:06:10.

security bubble is going to make that difficult. There is the

:06:11.:06:16.

secondary elements which is the tone in terms of public debate. MPs are

:06:17.:06:20.

complaining about increases in aggression towards them. What they

:06:21.:06:24.

see, Owen Smith and others telling me today, not just the tone from the

:06:25.:06:33.

public to politicians is aggressive and now acceptable but also the way

:06:34.:06:37.

politicians attack each other as we have seen in the referendum

:06:38.:06:40.

campaign, has become the norm. It would not have been acceptable in

:06:41.:06:44.

any of life. These are difficult questions to try to answer. Many

:06:45.:06:50.

people like vigorous debate at the same time how do we draw a line when

:06:51.:06:55.

things go over the top? Not easy. Campaigning for the

:06:56.:06:59.

referendum at a standstill. Will that continue? It will and its code

:07:00.:07:04.

change the dynamic and the momentum in the referendum campaign. We are

:07:05.:07:09.

unlikely to see anything substantive in terms of the Welsh campaigns this

:07:10.:07:14.

weekend. We have the recall of Parliament on Monday which will take

:07:15.:07:16.

the sting out of things. We are looking at a frenetic 48 hours of

:07:17.:07:24.

activity ahead of this huge decision on Thursday, an extraordinary time.

:07:25.:07:26.

A 22-year-old man has admitted causing the deaths of a father

:07:27.:07:29.

and son as they crossed a road after a Christmas party.

:07:30.:07:31.

43-year-old Stuart Bates and seven-year-old Fraser were hit

:07:32.:07:35.

by a car in Talbot Green, in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

:07:36.:07:37.

Joshua Staples from Tonyrefail pleaded guilty to causing death

:07:38.:07:40.

It was in December last year that father and son,

:07:41.:07:48.

They were making their way home in the early hours from a

:07:49.:07:53.

party, both wearing their Christmas jumpers.

:07:54.:07:56.

But when they tried to cross the dual carriageway

:07:57.:07:59.

here in Talbot Green they were struck by a car.

:08:00.:08:01.

That car was driven by 22-year-old

:08:02.:08:05.

Today, he admitted causing death by careless

:08:06.:08:11.

driving but pleaded not guilty to causing death

:08:12.:08:14.

Fraser became an organ donor saving the lives of four others and a new

:08:15.:08:22.

organ donation charity, Believe, was launched in his memory.

:08:23.:08:26.

His father also donated tissue to help others.

:08:27.:08:29.

Since their deaths thousands of pounds has been raised

:08:30.:08:33.

Fraser's mother has described them as inspirational,

:08:34.:08:38.

saying she draws comfort from knowing they live on in others.

:08:39.:08:42.

Today at Cardiff Crown Court Staples was banned from driving and granted

:08:43.:08:46.

bail until sentencing which is expected to take place next month.

:08:47.:08:52.

A 29-year-old man has appeared before Cardiff Magistrates' Court

:08:53.:08:55.

charged with murdering another man in the Llanedeyrn area of the city.

:08:56.:08:59.

Lynford Brewster, who was also 29, died following an incident

:09:00.:09:03.

Dwayne Edgar has been remanded in custody to appear

:09:04.:09:06.

National Museum Wales workers will be balloted on a new pay

:09:07.:09:12.

offer which could end a long-running dispute.

:09:13.:09:15.

PCS union members have been involved in an all-out strike

:09:16.:09:18.

since April over changes to weekend working allowances.

:09:19.:09:21.

The Museum said additional financial support from the Welsh Government

:09:22.:09:25.

has allowed it to improve its previous offer.

:09:26.:09:29.

There's continuing disruption to services in and out of Paddington

:09:30.:09:33.

station after an empty rain derailed at the station yesterday evening.

:09:34.:09:36.

Services from Cardiff, Swansea and Carmarthen to London

:09:37.:09:39.

Passengers are being urged to check for updates before they travel.

:09:40.:09:46.

A growing number of blind and partially sighted people

:09:47.:09:49.

in Wales are being turned away by taxi drivers because

:09:50.:09:52.

they have a guide dog, according to a charity.

:09:53.:09:54.

Although it's illegal to refuse a fare from passengers

:09:55.:09:57.

with assistance dogs, Guide Dogs Cymru is warning that

:09:58.:10:00.

incidents are on the rise and is calling for tougher sentences

:10:01.:10:04.

He relies on his guide dog Lloyd to be his eyes and ears.

:10:05.:10:15.

Last month, after a shopping trip, he made his way to this taxi rank

:10:16.:10:19.

I opened the passenger door of the car

:10:20.:10:25.

and asked the driver if they would take me home.

:10:26.:10:27.

They refused saying they didn't want to take me.

:10:28.:10:32.

I asked was it because of the guide dog?

:10:33.:10:34.

They then attempted to drive away while I was

:10:35.:10:37.

still leaning on the car and I fell flat on my face.

:10:38.:10:40.

I felt quite humiliated and embarrassed and a

:10:41.:10:43.

complete loss of confidence in my personal independence.

:10:44.:10:46.

Under the Equality Act, it is illegal for a taxi

:10:47.:10:49.

driver to refuse a fair just because the customer has a guide dog.

:10:50.:10:52.

Unless the driver has a medical reason why

:10:53.:10:56.

they can't have a dog in the car, in which case they will have

:10:57.:10:59.

to apply for an exemption certificate from

:11:00.:11:01.

But according to the charity Guide Dogs Cymru,

:11:02.:11:05.

taxi refusals in Wales are on the rise.

:11:06.:11:08.

Individuals are telling as they can stand and wait

:11:09.:11:11.

for a taxi in a queue and not know the taxi drivers are ignoring them.

:11:12.:11:18.

Even with the Equality Act the problem does seem to be

:11:19.:11:21.

What we would like to see is stiffer penalties so that taxi drivers

:11:22.:11:28.

understand the need to comply with the law.

:11:29.:11:31.

Drivers can be fined up to ?1,000 for refusing

:11:32.:11:36.

But research by the charity Guide Dogs showed that prosecutions

:11:37.:11:42.

In the Welsh capital all private hire and Hackney Carriage drivers

:11:43.:11:48.

must undergo disability awareness training,

:11:49.:11:51.

Mathab Khan knows his obligations when it comes to picking up

:11:52.:11:57.

passengers with guide dogs and feels other cabbies should too.

:11:58.:12:01.

If any taxi driver refuses to take a guide dog

:12:02.:12:05.

If he still does it his licence should be revoked.

:12:06.:12:13.

Powys County Council says it's carrying out an investigation

:12:14.:12:16.

into the taxi driver who refused to take Nick's fare.

:12:17.:12:20.

The majority of cabbies do comply with the law,

:12:21.:12:23.

but the actions of those who don't can have a real impact on people,

:12:24.:12:27.

like Nick, who want to take a taxi without fear of refusal.

:12:28.:12:34.

Still to come in the programme: Can the voices of these children stop

:12:35.:12:39.

people smoking outside a Pembrokeshire hospital?

:12:40.:12:44.

And Wellington is the setting for Wales second Test

:12:45.:12:47.

Coach Warren Gatland is hoping for an improved performance.

:12:48.:12:59.

During the run-up to last month's Assembly Election you may remember

:13:00.:13:02.

that we asked you to tell us what you would do if you

:13:03.:13:05.

Well, after the dust settled and with Carwyn Jones in place,

:13:06.:13:10.

I recently met the First Minister to hand over My Manifesto 2016.

:13:11.:13:20.

What would you do if you were First Minister?

:13:21.:13:23.

We travelled the length and breadth of Wales to find out.

:13:24.:13:28.

If I was First Minister I would reorganise the NHS.

:13:29.:13:31.

If I was First Minister I would ensure that all

:13:32.:13:33.

We promised we would pass on all your

:13:34.:13:38.

I've come to the Senedd to do just that.

:13:39.:13:44.

Hundreds of you got in touch about what matters to you.

:13:45.:13:47.

We have worked out what topics most of you

:13:48.:13:53.

contacted us about and it is those issues I am going to put the First

:13:54.:13:56.

Starting with better transport links.

:13:57.:14:01.

If I were First Minister I would build a

:14:02.:14:04.

Jeffrey Solomon from Carmarthen thinks better roads

:14:05.:14:09.

between north and south Wales would help his business.

:14:10.:14:13.

We're not going to have a dual carriageway north to south.

:14:14.:14:15.

What we will look to do is improve sections

:14:16.:14:24.

of the main roads, north/south, over the next few years.

:14:25.:14:26.

Carwyn Jones insists there is money for those

:14:27.:14:28.

improvements as well as the South Wales Metro and the M4 relief road.

:14:29.:14:31.

We do need a relief road, there is no getting away from it.

:14:32.:14:34.

The tunnels at Brynglas are terrible.

:14:35.:14:36.

If the Severn tolls go at some point all

:14:37.:14:38.

that traffic that sits at the tolls will just end up sitting in Brynglas

:14:39.:14:41.

It has got to be tackled and we will move forward with that now.

:14:42.:14:46.

Lots of people got in touch with us concerned about care for

:14:47.:14:50.

If I were the First Minister I would enact a holistic Bill of Rights

:14:51.:14:55.

that would protect elderly, disabled and former double

:14:56.:15:00.

people in their own homes, in hospitals and in care homes.

:15:01.:15:05.

Ken Mack in Wrexham will be pleased to know the First Minister

:15:06.:15:08.

is meeting the Older People's Commissioner next month to

:15:09.:15:10.

discuss what can be done during the next Assembly term.

:15:11.:15:14.

With more people living longer too, Carwyn Jones is

:15:15.:15:20.

considering the options to fund care.

:15:21.:15:22.

If we want to go to a situation where we say, right,

:15:23.:15:25.

people have a right to free care in future above a certain age

:15:26.:15:29.

it is going to cost and that means raising taxation.

:15:30.:15:32.

Again, people need to understand what the costs are

:15:33.:15:34.

I met Annie Mulholland from Cardiff who was terminally ill with

:15:35.:15:41.

Annie died three weeks ago but throughout her illness

:15:42.:15:46.

she fought for fair access to drugs for all patients.

:15:47.:15:50.

If I were First Minister I would stop the NHS

:15:51.:15:53.

Two things we are going to do, firstly,

:15:54.:15:57.

we are going to introduce a new treatments from.

:15:58.:15:59.

When a drug is approved for a life-threatening condition

:16:00.:16:02.

including cancer but not chest cancer, the money will be

:16:03.:16:05.

available to rule that out across Wales regardless of health board

:16:06.:16:09.

The second thing we're going to look at is, the current

:16:10.:16:15.

system we have means where people need to access a non-approved drug

:16:16.:16:18.

they have to go through a panel in the health board area they live.

:16:19.:16:22.

People have told us it is difficult to see the consistency.

:16:23.:16:25.

One of the things we're looking at is whether we

:16:26.:16:27.

can put in place a national system and whether that would give is the

:16:28.:16:32.

We were overwhelmed by your response to

:16:33.:16:37.

My Manifesto 2016 and so was the First Minister.

:16:38.:16:41.

The sheer number of ideas, the fact you've got all these

:16:42.:16:44.

responses show people are interested in politics.

:16:45.:16:47.

They don't think of it as politics but if you want something

:16:48.:16:50.

fixed in the road, you want a good school for your children, you want

:16:51.:16:54.

to have treatment in the health service it is politics

:16:55.:16:59.

It shows people far from being apathetic and not interested

:17:00.:17:05.

in what is going around them are very interested.

:17:06.:17:08.

Will you be taking the suggestions of people across the country

:17:09.:17:10.

We get a lot of our ideas from what we pick up

:17:11.:17:16.

We are nothing without the public to electors.

:17:17.:17:22.

The opinions of those people can help us to be able to do

:17:23.:17:26.

So many of you got in touch and we didn't have time

:17:27.:17:29.

to tell all your stories during the election campaign.

:17:30.:17:32.

If you have a story you want us to tell, or an issue you want us

:17:33.:17:36.

to investigate get in touch with My Wales Today.

:17:37.:17:39.

Tweet us @BBCWalestoday using the hashtag #mywalestoday.

:17:40.:17:42.

Or write to us - the address is on the screen now.

:17:43.:17:48.

We're looking forward to hearing from you.

:17:49.:17:55.

If you started smoking outside the doors of a hospital

:17:56.:17:58.

in Pembrokeshire you could be in for a shock.

:17:59.:18:00.

Hywel Dda has become the first health board in Wales to launch

:18:01.:18:04.

a new push-button public address system using children's voices,

:18:05.:18:07.

Hospitals have long been cigarette-free, but enforcing that

:18:08.:18:17.

Not everyone pays attention to the signs so perhaps it's time

:18:18.:18:23.

Launched by the children of Wolfcastle primary theirs

:18:24.:18:34.

This is a smoke-free site, please do not smoke here.

:18:35.:18:40.

For free support to become smoke-free...

:18:41.:18:43.

We thought it was an excellent idea to have a button that somebody

:18:44.:18:46.

could press when they entered the hospital if they

:18:47.:18:49.

just walked past somebody that was smoking outside the entrance.

:18:50.:18:53.

We felt hearing a child's voice outside

:18:54.:18:54.

the hospital was something you don't hear very often.

:18:55.:18:58.

It is more likely to get people's attention and

:18:59.:19:01.

hopefully it will seem more supportive rather than threatening.

:19:02.:19:04.

With their catchy message now up and running

:19:05.:19:08.

across all the hospitals in Pembrokehire, Carmarthenshrie

:19:09.:19:10.

campaigners are in no doubt about why their mission is so important.

:19:11.:19:17.

It is because you can cause lung cancer.

:19:18.:19:24.

I am on the school council so we speak to the government and we

:19:25.:19:30.

make school decisions about health and we go to the community.

:19:31.:19:34.

Hospitals are supposed to help people with problems not to create

:19:35.:19:38.

Other hospitals will now be looking at how effective this

:19:39.:19:43.

new public health persuasion proves to be and if it is, it could be

:19:44.:19:48.

The Wales squad are back in their Brittany training camp

:19:49.:20:03.

following yesterday's last-gasp defeat against England.

:20:04.:20:05.

Attention is now firmly fixed on Monday evening's match

:20:06.:20:08.

against Russia which will determine if Wales make it into the knock-out

:20:09.:20:14.

Let s head to Dinard and join Iwan Griffiths.

:20:15.:20:23.

Good evening. Yes, after the bustle of Bordeaux, the loss in -- Lens, it

:20:24.:20:35.

is back to Britain. Those who played yesterday have had a rest. We're

:20:36.:20:40.

looking forward to that big game against Russia. Let's look forward

:20:41.:20:43.

to the importance of that game in the company of the former Wales

:20:44.:20:49.

midfielder. More than 24 hours after that defeat to England, did they

:20:50.:20:55.

deserve to win? England played well. Their second-half performance showed

:20:56.:20:59.

their power in bringing on Sturridge and Jamie Vardy and Wales couldn't

:21:00.:21:04.

quite hold on. We were 60 seconds away from a heroin point which

:21:05.:21:09.

almost would've got as through to the next round. Let's look at the

:21:10.:21:15.

calculator. What do Wales need to do now on and a night against Russia?

:21:16.:21:18.

Quite simply, if we win we are through. If we are beaten and lose

:21:19.:21:25.

the game, we are struggling. We are dependent on other results. If it is

:21:26.:21:29.

a draw, we need England to win. Which isn't something we say often!

:21:30.:21:35.

The players need to be ready and looking to win the game against the

:21:36.:21:39.

Russians. What should Chris Coleman expect from the Russians? A stubborn

:21:40.:21:44.

side it isn't going to be a pretty game. We want to look to release

:21:45.:21:52.

Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale. It could go deep into the second half,

:21:53.:21:56.

it will be nervy but I am confident we will get the job done. What does

:21:57.:22:03.

Chris Coleman need to do now? It is all about recovering, making sure

:22:04.:22:06.

the energy levels are Rob and making sure physically they are ready and

:22:07.:22:13.

mentally. Thank you very much. They will be training at 11 tomorrow

:22:14.:22:17.

morning. A press conference at 1:30pm. I will bring you the latest

:22:18.:22:21.

tomorrow night. But for now, axed EU. -- back to you.

:22:22.:22:25.

After defeat in the first Test, Wales take on the New Zealand

:22:26.:22:29.

Coach Warren Gatland will be hoping for a much improved performance

:22:30.:22:33.

following the midweek thrashing by provincial side the Chiefs.

:22:34.:22:35.

From Wellington, here's Ross Harries.

:22:36.:22:36.

The nation's capital, Wellington, is the setting for the second Test,

:22:37.:22:39.

But Wales have had little time for sightseeing as they seek

:22:40.:22:45.

to restore pride to the jersey after Tuesday's mauling

:22:46.:22:49.

It was quite an embarrassing defeat for us, an embarrassing performance.

:22:50.:22:54.

But I suppose the nature of these things, you have to

:22:55.:22:58.

dust it off pretty quickly and get on with it.

:22:59.:23:01.

We're playing the All Blacks on Saturday so it isn't one

:23:02.:23:04.

we can dwell on for longer than half a day, really.

:23:05.:23:08.

As soon as we landed here in Wellington the boys

:23:09.:23:10.

were on their laptops reviewing the Chiefs game but all eyes

:23:11.:23:13.

Wellington is known as the Windy City and here in the

:23:14.:23:18.

Westpac Stadium the swirling winds can create havoc for the kickers.

:23:19.:23:22.

They are putting in an extra bit of practice today and for that man

:23:23.:23:25.

there on Saturday night, it is set to be a real baptism.

:23:26.:23:30.

Really exciting thing to look forward to.

:23:31.:23:31.

I'm sure Saturday night it will be bouncing and it will be a great

:23:32.:23:36.

Last weekend was a really good game to

:23:37.:23:42.

listen to on the radio, I'm sure it was great to watch.

:23:43.:23:45.

For 60 minutes the boys really went at it and it is important

:23:46.:23:48.

we build on those 60 minutes and see where that takes us

:23:49.:23:53.

These All Blacks have become the masters of closing out games.

:23:54.:23:57.

During that final quarter when the body tires and the mind

:23:58.:24:00.

becomes less sharp, these players always find another gear.

:24:01.:24:05.

If Wales are to record their first away win

:24:06.:24:08.

over the All Blacks, they will have to stay

:24:09.:24:10.

in the fight until the final whistle.

:24:11.:24:17.

Tributes have been paid to the sports journalist

:24:18.:24:19.

Peter Corrigan from the Vale of Glamorgan, who's

:24:20.:24:21.

He started his writing career at the south Wales Echo

:24:22.:24:25.

when he was just 16 before eventually becoming the sports

:24:26.:24:28.

editor for The Observer newspaper and chief sports columnist

:24:29.:24:31.

A number of properties have been flooded in Rhyl following heaving

:24:32.:24:39.

The worst affected areas were Vale Road and Ffordd Derwen.

:24:40.:24:44.

After the water receded residents began drying out their homes.

:24:45.:24:47.

Denbighshire Council said drains overflowed due to the high

:24:48.:24:50.

We're in for some better weather this weekend.

:24:51.:25:02.

The best of the sunshine on Saturday.

:25:03.:25:06.

Some sunshine in Rhaeadr today but not everywhere stayed dry.

:25:07.:25:13.

The radar shows torrential downpours in parts of mid and south Wales

:25:14.:25:18.

Langland Bay on Gower was hit by flash flooding this afternoon.

:25:19.:25:25.

This evening heavy showers in the south and southeast

:25:26.:25:28.

And a fresher night with lowest temperatures ten to 13 Celsius.

:25:29.:25:37.

So here's the picture for eight in the morning.

:25:38.:25:40.

Some patchy cloud but some sunshine as well.

:25:41.:25:46.

And it will feel quite pleasant with just a light breeze.

:25:47.:25:49.

So the weather in better shape tomorrow.

:25:50.:25:55.

Most places dry with a mix of cloud and sunny spells.

:25:56.:26:00.

The air more stable so any showers in the Marches will be light.

:26:01.:26:04.

15 to 19 Celsius but with light winds it will feel warm.

:26:05.:26:11.

Now, Snowdon Rocks is taking place tomorrow.

:26:12.:26:14.

The weather dry with light winds but with mist and fog on the summit.

:26:15.:26:18.

17C in Barrybados with a westerly breeze.

:26:19.:26:28.

Tomorrow evening dry with some sunshine.

:26:29.:26:31.

Overnight dry but later in the night increasing cloud may bring a few

:26:32.:26:34.

So a ridge of high pressure will bring drier, more settled

:26:35.:26:39.

weather over the weekend but these fronts over the Atlantic

:26:40.:26:42.

So for Sunday a bright start in the east otherwise cloudy.

:26:43.:26:47.

Some dry weather but a few spots of light rain and drizzle.

:26:48.:26:50.

And then during the evening it looks like we'll all see some rain.

:26:51.:26:54.

So Saturday the best day of the weekend.

:26:55.:26:59.

Next week, a damp start on Monday but brightening-up.

:27:00.:27:01.

Tuesday drier and fresher with some sunshine.

:27:02.:27:03.

The weather in Toulouse mixed and warm this weekend.

:27:04.:27:05.

But for the match on Monday evening it should be dry.

:27:06.:27:10.

Vigils have been held to remember the Labour MP Jo Cox,

:27:11.:27:14.

who died after being shot and stabbed in her

:27:15.:27:17.

Politicians here, have been paying tribute to the 41-year-old,

:27:18.:27:21.

described by former Labour leader Lord Kinnock as

:27:22.:27:24.

"someone who fought for justice and fair play".

:27:25.:27:31.

We'll be back with our next update after the BBC Ten o'clock news.

:27:32.:27:35.

For now, from all of us on the programme,
