Here, on BBC One, it's time for the news where you are.

:00:00.:00:20.

It's feared young cancer patients could be missing out on the support

:00:21.:00:22.

available to them because Welsh Government policy

:00:23.:00:24.

The Teenage Cancer Trust says it's concerned hundreds of young people

:00:25.:00:29.

aren't being referred to its Cardiff unit from other parts of Wales,

:00:30.:00:32.

It's sometimes just a smile that'll do it -

:00:33.:00:40.

that'll make the day a little more normal, and less about the cancer.

:00:41.:00:44.

Anna organises activities for the patients on the Teenage Cancer Unit

:00:45.:00:48.

I can talk to them about any issue they're having with uni

:00:49.:00:57.

If they've ben a bit anxious that day I can help

:00:58.:01:11.

This social space on the unit is a little more social

:01:12.:01:16.

Extra cash has been invested by the Teenage Cancer Trust

:01:17.:01:19.

But they fear too many young people are missing out

:01:20.:01:23.

on the support available to them, simply because Welsh Government

:01:24.:01:25.

The policy states each patient be referred to a teenage cancer

:01:26.:01:29.

unit - of which this is the only one in Wales.

:01:30.:01:33.

We know 120 are referred to us but I think there's another 120

:01:34.:01:36.

or 130 patients out in the community who could be referred to us

:01:37.:01:39.

Young people usually have rarer cancers and they'll have no one else

:01:40.:01:50.

They'll be suffering alone with no peer support or

:01:51.:01:54.

The guidance says that patients should be referred

:01:55.:01:57.

to you or that you should be aware of them.

:01:58.:01:59.

We know from our experience that's not happening.

:02:00.:02:04.

Here, support is available alongside treatment, for patients like Hannah,

:02:05.:02:07.

from Pontypridd, who was diagnosed with leukaemia in December.

:02:08.:02:10.

She finished her treatment yesterday, in time

:02:11.:02:12.

You just don't feel like you're on a ward.

:02:13.:02:20.

I've been on other wards, but we are all very similar age

:02:21.:02:23.

I couldn't have got through cancer without this unit.

:02:24.:02:29.

The Welsh Government say they've received nothing from the health

:02:30.:02:35.

service to indicate there's a problem, but will seek assurances

:02:36.:02:38.

that rigorous standards are being met.

:02:39.:02:43.

Eleven people arrested in connection with alleged match fixing

:02:44.:02:46.

of a Welsh Premier League game between Port Talbot Town and Rhyl

:02:47.:02:49.

Police arrested eight men and three women on suspicion of conspiracy

:02:50.:02:53.

to defraud, including players, staff and associates.

:02:54.:03:00.

BBC Wales understands that Tata Steel is set to invest around

:03:01.:03:03.

?7 million in a new generation of steel coating equipment

:03:04.:03:05.

It comes despite uncertainty over the future of the

:03:06.:03:09.

A coach company in Ceredigion, which runs the service

:03:10.:03:20.

from Aberystwyth to Carmarthen and Cardiff, is going

:03:21.:03:22.

Lewis Coaches in Llanrhystud says it'll close on 12th August

:03:23.:03:25.

due to business issues beyond its control.

:03:26.:03:37.

Work is under way to remove the wreckage of an RAF helicopter

:03:38.:03:40.

which burst into flames after an emergency landing

:03:41.:03:42.

The aircraft was involved in a training exercise

:03:43.:03:45.

yesterday afternoon when a fault forced it to land.

:03:46.:03:47.

Six people were rescued from the mountainside.

:03:48.:03:49.

This is a makeshift base for the REF which is overseeing the

:03:50.:04:07.

investigation in what happened to the helicopter.

:04:08.:04:11.

Eyewitnesses who were walking the footpaths on and happened

:04:12.:04:13.

yesterday described plumes of thick black smoke and flames coming

:04:14.:04:18.

from the aircraft soon after it landed.

:04:19.:04:20.

All five crew and passengers and a sixth on the ground

:04:21.:04:22.

After a frenzy of activity with the police and coastguard

:04:23.:04:26.

helicopter working alongside the air ambulance and dozens of search

:04:27.:04:28.

and rescue teams the scene has been cordoned off to preserve

:04:29.:04:31.

What will happen now is we have a team

:04:32.:04:36.

on site at the moment, the hazardous material team.

:04:37.:04:38.

When the aircraft has been doubt on site they

:04:39.:04:41.

will check the aircraft and know everything that is hazardous on that

:04:42.:04:44.

We have cordoned the aircraft at a safe distance to make sure it

:04:45.:04:48.

The next stage will be a clear up operation.

:04:49.:05:04.

The helicopter crew members are being interviewed back

:05:05.:05:06.

Getting it town is likely to take several days and could involve a

:05:07.:05:09.

lifting the wreckage from the mountain.

:05:10.:05:11.

Crew members are being interviewed to give their version of

:05:12.:05:13.

A potential tragedy was averted by a rapid response from them

:05:14.:05:17.

and their rescuers - working out what went wrong may

:05:18.:05:19.

To the Olympics where Welsh cyclist Geraint Thomas says it

:05:20.:05:24.

He came in ninth in the time trial - ending his chances

:05:25.:05:28.

It comes after he crashed out of the road race on Saturday.

:05:29.:05:41.

Not my day today. I didn't feel I had that 10% to win. It felt I

:05:42.:05:49.

wasn't going quick enough. But you've just got to bite the bullet

:05:50.:05:51.

and get it all out and that's what I Sam Cross and James Davis were part

:05:52.:06:04.

of the Team GB side that made it to the semifinals. The first to score

:06:05.:06:08.

the go through to the semifinals tomorrow.

:06:09.:06:09.

In the pool, Chloe Tutton is through to the 200m breaststroke

:06:10.:06:11.

semi-final in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

:06:12.:06:13.

And Penarth's Ieuan Lloyd made it through the heats

:06:14.:06:16.

Time for a look at the weather now and, Derek, it's warming up a bit?

:06:17.:06:24.

It will get warmer over the next few days. Overnight, most of the country

:06:25.:06:43.

will be dry. Seal -- still some rain in the far north Wiest. Mostly dry

:06:44.:06:50.

tomorrow and the best of the sunshine in the South. Across the

:06:51.:06:55.

rest of the UK, rain and drizzle in the north-east will ease. Bright

:06:56.:07:01.

spells developing but staying wet in the North West of Scotland with the

:07:02.:07:05.

warning of heavy rain there. The best of the sunshine in the south

:07:06.:07:08.

and south-west and warmer than today. In Wales tomorrow afternoon,

:07:09.:07:14.

much of the country will be dry. Cloud in the North. That will spread

:07:15.:07:22.

later in the afternoon. Temperatures are little higher than today. On

:07:23.:07:27.

Friday, more dry weather with sunshine but cloudy at times as well

:07:28.:07:31.

with one or two spots of rain but no more than that. A south-westerly

:07:32.:07:37.

breeze. Saturday may start Gray and stamp but improving from the North

:07:38.:07:44.

and becoming dry and brighter. Some sunshine. Sunday looks nice. No

:07:45.:07:50.

heatwave next week but south-easterly winds will send

:07:51.:07:52.

temperatures soaring for a date or two.

:07:53.:07:54.

We're back with updates in Breakfast from 06:25.

:07:55.:07:57.

From me, Derek, and everyone on the late team, good night.

:07:58.:08:03.
