Good evening. Quite a few coasts had sunshine today. The west coast

of Scotland, east coast of Northern Ireland. Parts of the west coast of

Wales and Cornish coast, but the south coast of England simply had a

dismalday. A wet day after a very, very wet night. This is the radar

showing how that heavy rain continued to affect Hampshire and

Sussex, well over a month's worth of rain falling in 24 hours. The

rain continued through the day. Further west, there was sharp

showers across Devon and parts of west Wales. The showers are easing

off. We will keep some across west Wales and Northern Ireland and

Cornwall. We keep this zone of wet weather, too. Not as intense as

last night, but still further rain falling on to wet ground, could

cause further problems. Temperatures staying in double

figures across the south. Further north, where it's largely dry with

clear spells t will turn chilly. A fresh start for the Olympic torch

as it leaves Aberdeen and heads towards Dundee. It should be a dry

day but it's not going to be warm. Generally a cool day across

northern Britain but much of northern England dry. Showers later

across Northern Ireland. We still have this wet weather smothering

the south-east corner, not as intense, but still a damp and

dreary start. South-west England and west Wales, again it's in this

zone where we need to keep an eye out for heavy showers developing

during the day. The risk of hail and thunder. Gradually that rain

peters out, taking most of the day before it clears from Hampshire and

Kent. Showers in Northern Ireland, may be brighter skies here. Much of

northern England and Scotland will stay dry and if we get sunshine

temperatures may reach 16 or 17. Overall, just 13 or 14. Lower still

across north-east Scotland. Feeling fresh here. Chilly start on

Wednesday. Many eastern areas looking dry. Again, we have to

watch for heavy thundery showers for Wales and south-west England.

Some places getting a further soaking. Thursday could be dry, but

this is what you don't want to see if you are looking for warm weather,

another area of low pressure marching towards the UK, promising

a further batch of heavy rain and strong winds. With that in mind,

and still the potential for heavy rain tonight and tomorrow, a nod
