Good evening. Those summer clothes you bought optimistically in the

spring are about to get a welcome reprieve from the wardrobe. Weather

patterns will take on a familiar look for July over the next few

days and a taste of summer is on the way. This is the temperature

trend. The black line represents the average for the time of year

across central areas. Not only do some of you get to that, a few of

you will hurdle it next week. We still have to get through tomorrow.

We have heavy showers again in the forecast. Roughly in the same areas

where we have them tonight, lively across northern England, North

Wales, the Midlands, East Anglia. One or two either side of that but

many will be dry through the night. 13-15 Celsius across central and

southern areas, cool across the North. Cooler in Scotland, five or

six Celsius. For Scotland, generally a dry start. A dry rush-

hour on Friday. Double digits in the towns and cities. A fair bit of

cloud but some sunshine bursting through. The same in Northern

Ireland and north-eastern England. A few showers in the North Channel

and North West England, very close to the Gulf first been in the

morning. It extends through the Midlands towards the south-east,

some of the show was getting close to the Oval later in the day. For

South West areas, dry, bright, the coast seeing the best of the

sunshine. Inland, a bit of cloud. Bright if anything for money in the

afternoon and the threat of showers. Greater Manchester and Merseyside,

parts of North Wales, the Midlands and central southern England, here

they will become slow-moving, heavy and thundery, causing problems for

the fries it -- Friday evening rush-hour. Temperatures mid- to

high teens. Through the night and into Saturday, a rare visitor to

our shores, high pressure returns killing off most of the showers.

One or two isolated ones in the south-west during the day. Decent

spells of sunshine and temperatures start the upward trend. There will

be one exception, the north-west of Scotland but given the fact they

run water restrictions, rain pushing and will probably be a
