Some of us woke up to a covering of snow this morning and will again

tomorrow. The end result is the same, the morning journey will take

longer and be more difficult because of it. Towns and cities

will be below freezing. It will be even colder in the countryside.

Severe frost in Scotland, 10 below in the Highlands. Wet weather is

coming in overnight. That means more snow. In Scotland there is an

amber warning in force for the morning. Very badly timed for the

rush-hour. Be prepared for the likelihood of travel disruption. On

the west coast it could be rain but inland it will be snow. As much as

15 centimetres in the Highlands. It will not just be snowing in the

hills, even the lower levels as well. The central belt will be high

risk. It will be nasty into the morning. Potentially icy. Really

difficult morning driving in Scotland. To the south, it will be

a dry start. It is frosty, and I see. The East of England, where we

have had showers of snow, they will leave ice. Anywhere, if it starts

dry you could encounter ice. Increasing cloud in the West,

outbreaks of rain, in Northern Ireland, it could turn icy. There

could be a spell of Hill snow. The wet weather will move south during

the day. It will lead it to lower levels. It will be sleet and snow

before turning into rain. It is snowing in the afternoon throughout.

That will make difficult driving here into the afternoon. It will be

windy and cold. Increasing cloud in south-east England could bring

patchy sleet. The rain will come in the evening. For Wales and south-

west England, unwanted heavy rain. It will clear south on Thursday
