Good evening. We've got a few more days of October to go, but enough

weather information to mark 2013 as weather information to mark 201 as

a very wet and windy -- wet and windy month in October. It has been

very mild both by day and by night, so tonight's weather coming a bit of

a shock, because it is turning cold out there. We have clear skies and a

risk of frost. A little bit more cloud in western areas, but

foremost, a dry night. Under those starry skies, temperatures tumble.

In towns and cities, Lowes will be five or six, but the countryside,

two or three will be the temperatures to start tomorrow

morning. The risk of freezing across more sheltered parts of northern

England and Scotland. Tomorrow morning, the cloud will quickly

increase across Northern Ireland, as a weather system brings heavy rain

and strong winds, which will then move into Scotland, north-west

England, Wales and south-west England. Ahead of that, we will hold

onto some dry and bright weather. Fairly breezy, and one or two

showers on the south coast. Inland, keeping the sunshine throughout the

afternoon. Always much more cloud as we had across north-west England,

with some outbreaks of rain, heavy at times across Scotland. Gales just

to around 60 mph in the north-eastern corner of Scotland for

a time. Things are improving for Northern Ireland as that weather

front clears through. Sunshine in the afternoon, and highs of around

12. Cloudy, wet and windy for Wales and south-west England, with highs

around 14 degrees. That band of cloud and rain moves Southeast

overnight on Wednesday, and it looks like it will be fairly stubborn to

clear the south-east corner at first on Thursday. Eventually, it should

do so, leaving behind a day of sunshine, showers, and another windy

day. Temperatures around average. The forecast for Friday and the

weekend looks like we are going to stick with this wet and windy theme,

with more though pressure systems developing out in the Atlantic. The
