I would love to say that at long last, the weather is settling down,

but it is not! Plenty more rain over the next couple of days. Most of us

are dry at the moment but we will see showers into Northern Ireland

and western parts of the mainland later tonight. Snow over high

ground. It will be a chilly night, and that is the problem because

within this band of rain will be hail, sleet and snow at lower

levels. As that clears at the end of the night, temperatures dipped

down. I see Northern Ireland, parts of Scotland and northern England and

North Wales. -- ice. And there will be thunder and lightning. But it

will not hang around, things will brighten up. Anti-of sunshine

through tomorrow and some of us will stay dry -- plenty. Further

showers, and a chilly wind. Further South, we will settle into a

reasonable day. It will be quite chilly, temperatures a couple of

degrees down on today. Highs of around five, six, seven degrees.

Calder further North. Wintry to low levels. -- Calder. Cold, three, four

degrees across the heart of Scotland. Temperatures will fall

overnight, frost across eastern areas, and rain will pile in from

the West later into the early hours. Very wet weather and that

will turn to snow over higher ground of northern Britain. Friday does not

look clever, a lot of rain, warnings in force, particularly across

Southern parts where we have seen so much rain. It will take some time

before it reaches other areas but it will do. It will dry up further

West, but a cold day further East, with the wind and rain. What about

the weekend? The front will clear eastwards and then we have strong

westerly winds, sunshine and showers. Winds could be quite

strong. You can see what is lining up for Sunday. Arguably, Saturday is

the better of the two days. Heavy showers in the West, watch out for
