Thursday morning. There will be heavy showers but also sunny spells.

Maybe some showers for the weekend. Good evening, yet again we are

finishing the day with some thunderstorms clustered across parts

of Cumbria, some torrential downpours at the moment, and flashes

of lightning. Along the front of this weather system, showers have

developed. They are pushing their way northwards, and will continue to

do so, taking the downpours into Scotland. Behind that, clearer skies

with temperatures dipping down into single figures, particularly in the

south-west. Much chillier night last night. Tomorrow much of the country

should be dry with some bright spells. There are some showers to

contend with an first thing in the morning it does look overcast in the

southeastern part of the country, where we have these showers. The

cloud and rain will keep going through much of the day for the

northern and western isles, and a cold day here, but there will be a

change in wind direction clearing away the mist and cloud from the

coast. We have got a good deal of dry weather for Northern England

with some sunny spells, and again for Wales. Some bright spells to the

south, but the risk of some showers through the afternoon. Despite that,

temperatures could reach 20 degrees. However, on Wednesday evening the

rain starts to gather pace, moving up from northern France. The

potential for some torrential downpours first thing on Thursday

morning, so some concerns about the rush-hour - we could have some

difficult travelling conditions. That heavy, potentially thundery

rain is only going to move its way slowly northwards throughout

Thursday. Ahead of that, we have a mixture of bright spells and

showers. Behind that system, there is some warmth and sunshine, but

mixed in with that we could see some thunderstorms again. With the

golfers at Wentworth on Thursday, there is the risk of some

thunderstorms. By Friday it should be dryer. The forecast is not
