Where the sunshine broke through to the North of Cornwall temperatures

rose to 17 degrees under the blue skies. For many of us the cloud

didn't break up through the day, keeping temperatures pegged at

around about 13 degrees. That was the high today in the London region.

Mild over night with the blanket of cloud around. Most places dry. Rain

will work into parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland through the

early hours of Saturday. It will be mild. Temperatures six to ten

degrees. Frost-free to start off your weekend. Saturday will be a

decent day to many parts of the country. There will be sunshine to

the western isles of Scotland in the morning. Elsewhere in Scotland it

will be cloudy and damp first thing. Northern Ireland should see brighter

skies, perhaps drizzle first thing for Belfast. For Dumfries and

Galloway, for instance. England and Wales will be dry, but a cloudy

start. Sunshine to the south, but hill fog, mist and murk into

Cornwall and Pembrokeshire, too. Through the day we have this frontal

system, it is slow moving across southern Scott la land and northern

England bringing splashes of rain. There will be lots of dry weather

either side of that and 17, 18 he degrees likely. A return to sunshine

for Northern Ireland and for Scotland. As for the Six Nations

rugby on Saturday fairly similar weather in Rome and London. Looking

dry, pretty mild, 15, 16 degrees with sunshine on offer, too.

Saturday evening then, a change to the weather. This rain, this frontal

system, will pep up. Heavier bursts of rain developing wildly across the

country. Another front moving in during the early hours of Sunday.

Many of us will see some spells of rain through the day. The bulk of

the rain clears towards the east, but I think East Anglia and the

south-east holding on to wet weather for much of the day. Further west a

return to sunnier skies, just a few scattered showers. It will feel

fresher by Sunday. We are looking at temperatures between 10-12 degrees.

With high pressure not far away into the new working week plenty of dry

weather through Monday and Tuesday and remaining pretty mild for the

time of year, 14, 15 degrees or so. A mixed bag. Whatever
