Good evening. We're not quite at the

four seasons in one day end of the

spectrum just yet but it's a

changeable fare. Cloudy to start

with across much of southern Britain

and the sun came through, 14 or 16

Celsius in a number of spots.

Further north are very squally sort

of day.

Wild and dare I say, woolly sort of

day. More of the same overnight,

some of the gusts and squally

showers, around 50-60 miles an hour

over Scotland. Further south, rain

getting into South and West England

and western Wales and the centre of

Wales. It won't rain until quite

late on further south and east,

probably closer to the commute time,

the school run time. The rain is

patchy across the southern counties.

It won't be around for very long

either, by mid-morning it should

have gone into the channel. The

Southern counties will join the rest

of the British Isles and a mixture

of sunny spells and showers. That's

the nature of the beast with these

sorts of things, the eastern side of

the Pennines won't see many showers

and if you are fully exposed to the

direction of wind, Northern and

western Scotland, Northern Ireland,

you will see of fair share of the

showers, quite wintry across the

higher ground of Scotland. You get

the sense that a lot of areas will

be really quite dry for the greater

part of the day. There will be some

showers coming through the North

Channel, down towards the north-west

of England. In the south, double

figures. Further north, are bracing

sort of day to say the least.

Temperatures never best to them

6-9dC. Overnight the weather front

comes back with a lot of mild

tropical origin air, bringing quite

a bit of rain from Northern Ireland,

then into the southern half of

Britain. It's going to stick around

for a good part of the day,

especially in the south-western

quarter. Quite how much of the

brighter weather percolates its way

down towards the east of England

Co-op into doubt at the moment. But

what a difference it makes. You see

some sunshine but it does nothing

for your temperatures. To the south

the payoff of the cloud and rain is

13-15, which sticks around for a

greater part of the day, we think,

before the front gradually pulls

away into the start of Sunday. It

opens the gates to the cold air to

plunge across the British Isles.
