The emphasis has changed from rain

to cold weather with temperatures on

the downward trend in the coming few

days. The coldest weather today in

Scotland. A wintry, snowy scene in

the Highlands. Further south, across

the north-west of England, the rain

has eased off. Still a number of

flood warnings on some of the rivers

here. The wettest weather over the

south-east corner of England with

rain coming in off the English

Channel. It will be replaced by some

showers in the south-west. Further

north, though, Scotland and Northern

Ireland, perhaps north-west England,

wintry flavour. It'll be cold and

frosty across the North, potentially

icy. Further south, those numbers

held up by more cloud. Into the cold

air, showers, wintry showers,

continue across northern and western

Scotland. Dry but still cold in

East. Icy patches around those

showers, even into Northern Ireland

and the north-west of England,

perhaps north-west, too. Further

south across many parts of England

and Wales, a dry start. Misty in the

Southeast first thing after the

early rain. Still a few showers to

the English Channel and south-west

of England. Those will tend to fade

during the afternoon. We'll see a

good deal of sunshine developing

across England and Wales. Not many

showers around here. Some sunshine

and more for Scotland and Northern

Ireland. Breezy here. Those showers

will be wintry. For many, much

lighter than today. It won't the

temperatures. Lower than we had

during this afternoon. It gets

colder Sutil after widespread frost

on Saturday. We got strengthening

winds adding to the chill, pushing

those wintry showers further south.

Perhaps if you getting into the

Midlands. Across southern and

eastern parts it may well be dry and

sunny. Getting colder. Four degrees

in Glasgow, seven at best in London.

Quite a strong wind adding to that

chill. Stays blow into the second

half of the weekend, too. Some

slight change, a ridge of high

pressure out of the weather system.

A lot of the showers will get killed

off, so more places will be dry.

Sunshine and on across the eastern

side but further ahead of the

weather system we will see cloud

increasing. Strong winds around.
