patches of mist and murk. If you are
travelling further afield in the | 0:00:00 | 0:00:00
coming days, | 0:00:00 | 0:00:00
travelling further afield in the
coming days, here is Phil with the | 0:00:01 | 0:00:04
wider picture. | 0:00:04 | 0:00:06
Good evening. The fog will be an
issue over the next couple of days. | 0:00:09 | 0:00:14
Not without its artistic side, as
witnessed here in Newry. The day was | 0:00:14 | 0:00:19
by no means a write-off. Once the
cloud cleared from the south-east, | 0:00:19 | 0:00:22
it was a glorious day in many spots.
Having said that, as the day came to | 0:00:22 | 0:00:28
a close, certainly here across the
West Midlands, the fog was back with | 0:00:28 | 0:00:32
a vengeance. It's going to be, I
suspect, forming most extensively in | 0:00:32 | 0:00:37
this area that saw some of the best
of the sunshine through the course | 0:00:37 | 0:00:41
of the day. There you see it, across
the western side of Scotland, the | 0:00:41 | 0:00:46
north-west of England, Northern
Ireland, the West Midlands, down to | 0:00:46 | 0:00:49
Wales, and into the southern
counties of England too. Into the | 0:00:49 | 0:00:53
east, the weather front has some low
cloud associated with it too so | 0:00:53 | 0:00:57
there could be some hill fog getting
into Lincolnshire and East Anglia, | 0:00:57 | 0:01:01
so just in time for the commute and
school run tomorrow, there could | 0:01:01 | 0:01:05
well be some extensive fog, some of
it really quite dense. Let us see | 0:01:05 | 0:01:09
how it shapes up on Thursday
morning. The additional factor in | 0:01:09 | 0:01:14
the weather for western Scotland
certainly and central Scotland is | 0:01:14 | 0:01:18
the prospect of some frost. Once you
come that little further south, this | 0:01:18 | 0:01:21
is where we pick up on the fog
theme. For Northern Ireland, the | 0:01:21 | 0:01:25
borders of Scotland, the north-west
of England, Midlands and Wales and | 0:01:25 | 0:01:28
down into the south-west. Then a
lull in proceedings where the fog | 0:01:28 | 0:01:32
may be that little bit more remote.
Then out towards the east, the old | 0:01:32 | 0:01:35
weather front, a lot of cloud here,
bits and pees of rained and a supply | 0:01:35 | 0:01:40
of fog coming in off the North Sea
could give a lot of hill fog and fog | 0:01:40 | 0:01:45
to lower levels too for a good part
of the morning, certainly to the | 0:01:45 | 0:01:49
west and east. I'm hopeful much of
the fog will pop away in western | 0:01:49 | 0:01:53
parts and you will see some
sunshine. Further east, ledden | 0:01:53 | 0:01:57
skies, one of those January days,
eight degrees yes possibly. Where | 0:01:57 | 0:02:01
the sunshine comes through, but the
fog sticks in the west, could be | 0:02:01 | 0:02:05
down to two. We do it all again on
Friday with the fog not necessarily | 0:02:05 | 0:02:14
in the aim areas. Not an issue with
the fog over to Northern Ireland | 0:02:14 | 0:02:20
because the breeze is freshening up
here. A weather | 0:02:20 | 0:02:28 |
