heavy outbreaks of rain and an

After such a wintry week, something

very different on the way for a time

next week.

Much milder, with

temperatures bouncing back into

double figures for some of us. But

it has been another difficult day

for travelling across western and

southern parts of Scotland and snow

showers in northern parts of England

as well. They are slowly fading now,

although some will still be

peppering western parts of Scotland

overnight. And where you have these,

it will be turning icy. There is a

widespread frost out there and you

will notice an area of wet weather

coming towards the south-west later

in the night. This is the most

notable weather system for Saturday.

There are some uncertainty about how

far north it will reach. It may just

spread a bit further north in two

parts of Northern Ireland with the

risk of sleet and snow. But far

fewer wintry showers in Scotland.

Further south, plenty of cloud. We

are back into this weather system.

the day. It is there from morning

will make for a dank, cold day

in north-east England and Scotland.

But foremost, it is cold day and

on Sunday. This is the leading edge

of milder air, but pushing wet

weather in. That is a recipe for

more snow and icy conditions of some

of us, particularly Scotland and

northern England for a time on

Sunday. If you are travelling on

Sunday, keep across the forecast.

Here it comes - heavy rain across

southern parts. It will ease away

from Northern Ireland in the

afternoon, but it's a messy picture

on Sunday, with a big range of

temperatures from the cold air still

in place and the milder air trying

to come in. But the mild air doesn't

win out on Sunday night into Monday.
