evening. Eventually it was not a bad

day. In the south you had to wait,

but further north it really has been

a better day. As I say, you had to

wait in the south because it took a

while before this weather front

worked its way down across England

and Wales. It has now moved off into

the near continent and the skies are

clear in England and Wales and as a

consequence the temperatures have

dipped away. Further north and west

too much cloud and breeze around for

there to be a widespread frost. But

inland it could be quite a hard

frost. We started the day on Tuesday

with quite a widespread frost. More

cloud in the Isles of Scilly and in

the western side of Cornwall. Not

too much in the way of breeze. A bit

more cloud across the top end of the

Pennines into Northern Ireland and

southern Scotland. It will be wet

and windy in the northern and

western isles and much of western

Scotland and that is the way it will

stay for the greater part of the

day. Elsewhere for England and Wales

it is a decent morning, but as time

goes on there will be some cloud in

Wales and the South West and

eventually there will be some murky

conditions in the south and west of

Wales. The best of the sunshine

further east in the Midlands, East

Anglia and the South East. Nowhere

near as mild as it has been in

recent days. Through Tuesday night

into Wednesday there are two sets of

France. The second one is the more

active one because behind it it is

more a windy and there is much

colder air. It really will feel cold

and it will be exacerbated by the

strength of the wind. Wet and windy

across southern parts and that moves

away in lunchtime, following on

behind is sunshine. Further north

and west I would not be surprised to

see some wintry showers. We expect

to see four or 5 degrees across

northern parts. Thursday it will be

blustery on the eastern side
