Hello there, some big changes on the

way this week specially towards the

end of the week. Today we had some

sunshine. Some showers. Took a while

to clear from the south-east of

England. But we had a lovely end to

the day at Newquay in Cornwall. But

it is here in western areas that the

weather is starting to change now.

Through the night the winds will

continue to strengthen and blow in

more cloud and we will see some rain

arriving in Northern Ireland, and

perhaps the extreme south-west.

Further east, we will have clearer

skies and lighter winds. Colder with

a touch of frost in Scotland and

some northern and eastern parts of

England. The big picture for

Wednesday is this, dominated by a

large area of low pressure rotating

to the west of the UK, but throwing

ahead bands of cloud and rain. Ahead

of that, we draw up a strengthen

wind from Spain and will draw in

milder air as well. But a change for

Wednesday, this time the wetter,

windy weather in the wests, in the

east it is likely to be dry and

there will be some sunshine. But we

have the strongest winds in the

west, strong to gale force in the

south-west and turning wetter in the

south-west in the afternoon. Some

rain pushing into Wales too. Windy

through the Irish Sea, rain and

could be heavy in Northern Ireland

and just glancing western Scotland.

Remaining parts of Scotland dry with

some sunshine. That goes for the

Midlands and the eastern side of

England. Sunnier skies in the

south-east and up to 15 degrees. On

Thursday the rain's moved, still not

far from Northern Ireland. But

moving more quickly, north and

eastwards across England and Wales.

To the south we will get some

sunshine. That could trigger some

showers. Some could be heavy.

Temperatures 12 degree in the South

West. North of the rain it is

chillier in Scotland. That rain as

we head into Friday, starts to turn

to sleet and snow in Scotland and

north-east England. To the south

still a number of showers.

Everything getting blocked off by a

big area of high pressure across

Scandinavia and that means just in

time for the weekend an easterly

wind - cold and strong
