It's almost six thirty - you're watching East Midlands Today. | :00:00. | :00:00.
Our top story tonight - The man who saved the lives of two | :00:00. | :00:00.
people from a Derbyshire canal is hailed a hero. | :00:07. | :00:13.
After they plummeted from a bridge, he dived straight into rescue them. | :00:14. | :00:21.
Also, the latest and the search for Samantha Baldwin and her boys, | :00:22. | :00:27.
missing now since Monday. Also tonight, Rutland celebrates 20 years | :00:28. | :00:31.
of going it alone, but not everyone goes along with it. And a dream | :00:32. | :00:40.
takes shape. Former rugby start Matt Hampson's charity continues to grow. | :00:41. | :00:46.
It seems like last week it was just a big mud patch. Now it is actually | :00:47. | :00:48.
a physical building. Good evening and welcome | :00:49. | :00:58.
to Friday's programme - with Maurice Flynn and me, | :00:59. | :01:00.
Geeta Pendse. First tonight to an uplifting story | :01:01. | :01:01.
- the man who rescued two people It came after a collision saw them | :01:02. | :01:05.
plummet into the water. Billy Miller was on his way home | :01:06. | :01:14.
from work when he saw the car go over the side | :01:15. | :01:17.
of a bridge in Swarkestone. The Ambulance Service | :01:18. | :01:20.
says his actions were remarkable. Our reporter Navtej Johal | :01:21. | :01:22.
has been to meet him. I can't the brick and managed to | :01:23. | :01:32.
smash the glass. As I got to the car, I managed to get under her arms | :01:33. | :01:37.
and lift her out through the side of the car. I noticed there was another | :01:38. | :01:42.
man facing down in the Canal at that point, so I lifted the lady out and | :01:43. | :01:47.
managed to help with the man as well from underneath and push him out of | :01:48. | :01:52.
the water. The dramatic story of how this 42-year-old carpenter helped to | :01:53. | :01:57.
rescue two people from a Derbyshire canal after a collision which saw a | :01:58. | :02:02.
car and pedestrian fall into the water. At any point did you think | :02:03. | :02:05.
about your own safety, what might happen to you, before you jumped | :02:06. | :02:12.
into the water? Not really, no. Why do you think that is? The only thing | :02:13. | :02:17.
I can say is that I didn't really think about what I was doing. By the | :02:18. | :02:20.
time I even thought about whatever's doing, I was already in the water. | :02:21. | :02:26.
Billy has been described as a hero. Your actions made or job ten times | :02:27. | :02:31.
easier. And today his actions were reckoned as byes as Ambulance | :02:32. | :02:36.
Service. Think you very much. People don't usually jump into a canal and | :02:37. | :02:43.
rescue two people. I've been working for about 15 years and I can count | :02:44. | :02:46.
on one hand sort of the amount of times people have done the same as | :02:47. | :02:51.
his actions. His actions were Adam Wrobel, and they were appreciated, | :02:52. | :02:53.
but you have to look after yourself as well. -- admirable. What you make | :02:54. | :03:01.
of all this fuss? It's silly, really. It was just one of those | :03:02. | :03:05.
things. I was in the right place at the right time to be able to do | :03:06. | :03:10.
that, that's all it was. The pedestrians remains in hospital | :03:11. | :03:13.
while the elderly woman was discharged after suffering minor | :03:14. | :03:16.
injuries. Ellie says his thoughts are with them. -- Billy. | :03:17. | :03:22.
A judge has said he fears for the safety of two missing | :03:23. | :03:25.
Dylan and Louis Madge are thought to have been abducted | :03:26. | :03:30.
It's now been five days since the last sighting | :03:31. | :03:35.
of Samantha Baldwin in Nottingham City Centre. | :03:36. | :03:37.
Initially a missing persons appeal, it became an abduction | :03:38. | :03:39.
investigation on Wednesday, when it was revealed the Newark mum | :03:40. | :03:41.
We now know they were removed from her care | :03:42. | :03:45.
Ports and airports were put on alert as the investigation widened, | :03:46. | :03:54.
but yesterday, closer to home, officers began house to house | :03:55. | :03:56.
enquiries in Newark to build up a picture of Samantha's | :03:57. | :03:59.
A shortwhile ago, I spoke to the superintendent | :04:00. | :04:02.
leading the investigation, and asked - after so many days - | :04:03. | :04:05.
what scale the operation is at tonight... | :04:06. | :04:08.
We have over 100 officers from the East | :04:09. | :04:12.
Midlands region out there in the search for Samantha | :04:13. | :04:14.
and the boys, following up lines of inquiry, | :04:15. | :04:20.
sightings and they are the length and breadth of the country. | :04:21. | :04:26.
And again I want to urge this appeal on a national basis. | :04:27. | :04:29.
Samantha could be anywhere and we need people to... | :04:30. | :04:31.
If they see anybody that they think fits that description, if you have | :04:32. | :04:35.
to have a double take, if you have to look twice, | :04:36. | :04:39.
check the photos and let us know and give us the | :04:40. | :04:42.
I am increasingly concerned for the welfare of those two boys and I want | :04:43. | :04:48.
them back safe and well as quickly as possible. | :04:49. | :04:54.
You have been appealing directly to Samantha to make | :04:55. | :04:57.
Is there a risk she has left the country with the boys? | :04:58. | :05:05.
Whilst there's no indication that Samantha | :05:06. | :05:09.
has left the country with the two boys, again, | :05:10. | :05:11.
We will put whatever resources we need to to continue | :05:12. | :05:16.
this search to find those two boys and get them back safely. | :05:17. | :05:19.
Wherever they are, they have been evading | :05:20. | :05:20.
How confident are you that someone may be helping them and | :05:21. | :05:24.
I think it's increasingly difficult to | :05:25. | :05:27.
evade capture for this long without getting help from somewhere. | :05:28. | :05:30.
I would urge those people to do the right | :05:31. | :05:32.
thing and give us the information that will help us get Dylan and | :05:33. | :05:35.
OK, Superintendent Richard Fretwell, thank you very much for your time. | :05:36. | :05:47.
You're watching East Midlands Today, and still lots ahead tonight. | :05:48. | :05:53.
Including the final hours of trading as Leicester's | :05:54. | :05:56.
oldest department store - Fenwick - closes for the last | :05:57. | :05:58.
In this age of going it alone, we'll be reminded tomorrow that | :05:59. | :06:12.
Rutland regained its independence twenty years ago when it became | :06:13. | :06:15.
A day of celebrations is planned for England's | :06:16. | :06:20.
But not everyone will be taking part. | :06:21. | :06:24.
Some are calling for Rutland to be reabsorbed into a bigger | :06:25. | :06:29.
20 years on and the flags are still flying proudly in Rutland. | :06:30. | :06:35.
The original was raised in April 1997 as | :06:36. | :06:37.
independence was met with a three hour peel | :06:38. | :06:39.
of bells and four days of | :06:40. | :06:40.
Oakham Castle was at the heart of the historic | :06:41. | :06:47.
announcement in 1997 and it will be the focal point of celebrations | :06:48. | :06:50.
tomorrow, with military displays, singing, dancing, and film | :06:51. | :06:52.
The headlines 20 years ago declared their approval and | :06:53. | :06:59.
We are taking control of our own destiny | :07:00. | :07:05.
and our politicians can make the decisions here, | :07:06. | :07:08.
rather than someone at a County Hall. | :07:09. | :07:10.
Rutlanders on the whole seem to agree. | :07:11. | :07:12.
We be better off going back to Leicestershire. | :07:13. | :07:18.
It's just an exclusive postcode where people have | :07:19. | :07:20.
to go shopping either to Corby, Stanford, Granthom or Leicester. | :07:21. | :07:26.
It's an expensive place to live because it's such a small authority, | :07:27. | :07:29.
Everything is well kept and clean and things | :07:30. | :07:37.
are done I think as they should be in a small community. | :07:38. | :07:47.
The critics say living somewhere small and | :07:48. | :07:49.
Band D council tax in Rutland is ?370 more than in neighbouring | :07:50. | :07:53.
Leicestershire and it's time to amalgamate with a bigger County. | :07:54. | :07:56.
I really think that we should go through the exercise of | :07:57. | :08:01.
amalgamating with a larger authority and we can | :08:02. | :08:03.
cut our costs and give a | :08:04. | :08:05.
We are a low-cost Council, third lowest cost per head | :08:06. | :08:12.
So we are very efficient with what we do and I | :08:13. | :08:16.
think if we were to be amalgamated into another county, that loss of | :08:17. | :08:19.
independence, that loss of direction, | :08:20. | :08:21.
not being able to be the | :08:22. | :08:22.
masters of our own destiny would be sorely missed. | :08:23. | :08:24.
Extra space will have to be found on the castle walls for a new | :08:25. | :08:35.
ceremonial horseshoe to mark the 20th anniversary of independence. | :08:36. | :08:37.
Police are investigating a Derbyshire-based charity. | :08:38. | :08:43.
Kids N Cancer claims to have helped 150 children | :08:44. | :08:45.
The accounts reveal more than ?2 million | :08:46. | :08:55.
Mike Hyman is its CEO, founder and trustee. | :08:56. | :08:58.
He was arrested a fortnight ago over allegations of theft. | :08:59. | :09:00.
His lawyers say he denies any wrongdoing, and will be able | :09:01. | :09:03.
to speak to the media once Derbyshire police complete | :09:04. | :09:05.
In the first few weeks of 2017, a knife attack was reported | :09:06. | :09:09.
to Leicestershire police every 36 hours. | :09:10. | :09:10.
Figures revealed to the BBC also show that over the past year, | :09:11. | :09:13.
of domestic knife incidents, were investigated in Leicester, | :09:14. | :09:17.
This weekend the force launches a campaign to tackle knife crime | :09:18. | :09:29.
using targetted patrols and community engagement. | :09:30. | :09:32.
Holiday makers heading to East Midlands Airport | :09:33. | :09:34.
are being advised to leave more time for their journey as two major | :09:35. | :09:37.
Airport bosses are issuing their warning as construction | :09:38. | :09:42.
steps up on the nearby rail freight interchange. | :09:43. | :09:44.
It'll mean various restrictions on the A453, as well as affecting | :09:45. | :09:47.
At the same time, work to create a section of smart motorway also | :09:48. | :09:54.
starts on the M1 between Junction 23A and Junction 25. | :09:55. | :10:05.
Next we can reveal the Matt Hampson Foundation has now given out over | :10:06. | :10:13.
?1 million in grants to people who have suffered catastrophic | :10:14. | :10:15.
The foundation was set up five years ago by Matt | :10:16. | :10:18.
and if you watch our programme you are probably | :10:19. | :10:21.
A former Leicester Tigers player Matt was injured 12 years ago | :10:22. | :10:24.
A scrum collapsed and he was left paralysed from the neck down - | :10:25. | :10:28.
only able to breathe on a ventilator. | :10:29. | :10:30.
Since then he's dedicated his life to helping others | :10:31. | :10:32.
and as Natalie Jackson reports his latest project | :10:33. | :10:34.
It seems like last week, it was just a big mud patch. | :10:35. | :10:45.
Now it's actually a physical building and it's pretty impressive. | :10:46. | :10:49.
It has been years in the planning, but finally a landmark day | :10:50. | :10:59.
for Matt Hampson Get Busy Living Centre. | :11:00. | :11:01.
Some said it was a pipe dream, but now this feels real. | :11:02. | :11:09.
Having been with Matt since the start of his journey, | :11:10. | :11:11.
Without wanting to get too emotional, Natalie, | :11:12. | :11:17.
it's always been Matt's dream virtually since his accident to do | :11:18. | :11:20.
This Get Busy Living Centre will supply that need. | :11:21. | :11:23.
Now 32, Matt was just 20 when a scrum collapsed | :11:24. | :11:36.
We've given out now just over ?1 million worth of grants | :11:37. | :11:44.
to our beneficiaries to buy equipment and funding | :11:45. | :11:46.
their rehabilitation costs, so, yeah, five years and ?1 million | :11:47. | :11:48.
is a pretty good achievement, really. | :11:49. | :11:56.
The rehabilitation centre will be the only one | :11:57. | :11:58.
Former England rugby captain Mike Tindall is the centre's patron. | :11:59. | :12:06.
There were calls locally for Matt to be knighted | :12:07. | :12:08.
But seriously, what do you think about his achievements? | :12:09. | :12:22.
As I said during the little opening, I'm in on of him in terms of how | :12:23. | :12:26.
he has dealt with the cards he has been dealt and then how he's driven | :12:27. | :12:29.
that on and how he ends buyers other people. | :12:30. | :12:31.
At the centre contacted us a couple of years ago. | :12:32. | :12:36.
He got injured when he was 15, writing his motorcross bike. | :12:37. | :12:42.
Recently he got a pair of rewalk robotic legs, | :12:43. | :12:44.
He's an ambassador for the foundation and he is, like Matt, | :12:45. | :12:48.
The centre opens in September and will be an extension of Matt's | :12:49. | :12:52.
We'll be able to offer people in the same situation as myself | :12:53. | :12:56.
a hope and a purpose for the rest of their lives. | :12:57. | :13:13.
What a dues bump moment. I think he should get a knighthood. | :13:14. | :13:21.
Your Majesty, I hope you're listening. | :13:22. | :13:23.
Still to come on the programme - when crime DOES pay. | :13:24. | :13:25.
The final touches are being applied at the newly named | :13:26. | :13:28.
National Justice Museum - we'll be taking a good look around. | :13:29. | :13:36.
Two bosses have been extolling the virtues of export | :13:37. | :13:39.
life OUTSIDE the EU, as the process of leaving | :13:40. | :13:41.
Europe begins in earnest with the triggering, | :13:42. | :13:45.
Their comments come as the Secretary of State | :13:46. | :13:48.
for International Development visited the East Midlands. | :13:49. | :13:54.
Not surprisingly, as a long-standing Brexiteer, Dr Liam Fox was keen | :13:55. | :13:57.
to emphasise the opportunities for firms to export | :13:58. | :13:59.
Like a Phoenix, Norton has risen again. The motorbike company, now | :14:00. | :14:13.
based in Leicestershire, has seen phenomenal growth since its relaunch | :14:14. | :14:18.
in 2008. 80% of its bikes are exported, so not surprisingly, the | :14:19. | :14:22.
national trade secretary Liam Fox was looking for a firm already with | :14:23. | :14:27.
trade things outside the EU. 90% of global growth is now outside the | :14:28. | :14:32.
European Union. That is where the markets are going to be in future, | :14:33. | :14:36.
because in future we have got a pretty flat European economy | :14:37. | :14:40.
compared to the far east, compared to its of the golf. So we need to go | :14:41. | :14:46.
and selling our goods where there are growing markets. And Norton is | :14:47. | :14:49.
looking exactly in that sector, hoping to tie it deals with China | :14:50. | :14:52.
and India soon, which would boost the jobs here. We launched our | :14:53. | :14:57.
latest models last November, that sold out. We are looking to deliver | :14:58. | :15:01.
those later this year, we have a fantastic order book. They will go | :15:02. | :15:06.
to the far east as well. We are looking at 40 or 50% jump growth | :15:07. | :15:14.
over the next 18 months. EPM technologies biggest European order | :15:15. | :15:17.
has already boosted jobs, but the boss believes there was a wider | :15:18. | :15:21.
world out there now. Our staff numbers have gone from 70 to 160 | :15:22. | :15:26.
really quickly. From your budget you, export is great and export to | :15:27. | :15:30.
Europe is great. I think businesses have to export, whether you are in | :15:31. | :15:34.
Europe or not. We are transporting this project to Europe and its first | :15:35. | :15:38.
uses in America. We've just got to be out there and we've got to work | :15:39. | :15:44.
hard, whether we are in Europe were not in Europe. It's all about hard | :15:45. | :15:45.
work. Leicester's oldest department store | :15:46. | :15:49.
shut for the last time today Fenwick has been trading since 1962, | :15:50. | :15:51.
replacing its predecessor Joseph Johnson which opened | :15:52. | :15:57.
in Victorian times. The store's closure was announced | :15:58. | :15:59.
in January, with the owners blaming the popularity of online shopping | :16:00. | :16:01.
plus a fall in passing trade. Shutting up shop for the final time. | :16:02. | :16:18.
After trading on this corner for decades, Fenwick has become more | :16:19. | :16:23.
than a department store, it's a much loved Leicester landmark. Today, the | :16:24. | :16:27.
last of its stock was sold off, in transactions that will and many long | :16:28. | :16:32.
careers. A member of staff has been here for 42 years. I myself have | :16:33. | :16:36.
been here 21 years. It's a very sad day for everybody. Very mixed | :16:37. | :16:42.
emotions. But I'm so proud of my staff and what we have achieved. But | :16:43. | :16:48.
Fenwick wasn't the first department store to occupy this building. In | :16:49. | :16:52.
1962, it took over from Joseph Johnston which opened in 1880. It | :16:53. | :16:58.
had aspirations for the people of Leicester to give them a taste of | :16:59. | :17:02.
good living, goods that were possibly more expensive than | :17:03. | :17:07.
elsewhere, but were well designed. And well that ethos may have endured | :17:08. | :17:10.
during the generations, shopping habits have changed. The owners of | :17:11. | :17:16.
Fenwick blame its closure on the rise of online shopping and loss of | :17:17. | :17:19.
footfall in this area as customers move to other more convenient | :17:20. | :17:23.
shopping locations will stop as you can see, it's not the only casualty | :17:24. | :17:27.
here. There are three other empty units on the street. Do you feel the | :17:28. | :17:32.
Council is perhaps let this area down, neglected it which has some | :17:33. | :17:36.
way lead to disclosure? Definitely not. There are millions literally | :17:37. | :17:41.
being invested into this area. There is a massive office scene that is | :17:42. | :17:45.
coming on here as well, and there are many more residents here. Retail | :17:46. | :17:50.
experts say that Fenwick did not move with the times. It's not about | :17:51. | :17:55.
the location or area, it's a retail brand itself. Have they got | :17:56. | :17:59.
something that appeals to me, creative to me and can I get it at a | :18:00. | :18:04.
time that is convenient for me? They haven't really addressed those | :18:05. | :18:09.
needs. The closer of Fenwick will leave a gaping hole here, but the | :18:10. | :18:12.
building has been sold and we understand the lower floor could | :18:13. | :18:17.
still be used for retail. As for Fenwick, there will be a new online | :18:18. | :18:20.
offering, allowing Leicester customers to continue shopping. | :18:21. | :18:29.
It is online, but it will be sorely missed. Time for sport now. | :18:30. | :18:35.
Yes, we start with football and at Leicester City. | :18:36. | :18:38.
One more league win tomorrow could see Craig Shakespeare set | :18:39. | :18:40.
If he guides Leicester to a much-needed home | :18:41. | :18:43.
win against Stoke City, he'll become just the FIFTH manager | :18:44. | :18:45.
to win his first four Premier League matches. | :18:46. | :18:51.
And if he does he'll be in fine company too. | :18:52. | :18:53.
The only four to have done it previously are Pep Guardiola, | :18:54. | :18:56.
Jose Mourinho, Guus Hiddink and Carlo Ancelotti. | :18:57. | :18:57.
But Shakespeare is certainly NOT getting carried away. | :18:58. | :19:04.
We know that it wasn't so long ago that our form was being questioned. | :19:05. | :19:12.
I know at the moment we are in good form, we're playing with a lot of | :19:13. | :19:15.
confidence, but I think that word humility to be important form my | :19:16. | :19:20.
point of view to put it towards the players, keep them level-headed. To | :19:21. | :19:23.
also make sure there was no complacency. | :19:24. | :19:26.
But how has he made the Foxes Fearless again? | :19:27. | :19:28.
Angela Rafferty is live tonight in Derby with a man who knows | :19:29. | :19:31.
Yes, he's a face who is familiar at both Leicester | :19:32. | :19:40.
and here at Derby County - assistant coach Kevin Phillips. | :19:41. | :19:45.
You knew Craig very well as your time as player and coach here. I | :19:46. | :19:53.
surprised that his start? No, I'm not. I worked closely with him, I | :19:54. | :19:58.
know what his qualities are, it is no surprise to me that he has | :19:59. | :20:00.
galvanised the squad and got some results. Let's talk about here at | :20:01. | :20:06.
Derby County now. It's his first game in charge, how big of an | :20:07. | :20:12.
occasion is it for him tonight? It is a huge occasion for him. Lived in | :20:13. | :20:16.
the area for 23 years, watched from afar the going on here, would have | :20:17. | :20:21.
loved to be a part of it. Now he is as the manager. He had a good | :20:22. | :20:24.
response from the players against Nottingham Forest, I'm sure the | :20:25. | :20:27.
players will put in a good performance for him to see me and | :20:28. | :20:30.
I'm sure the crowd will put in a good reception for him this unit. He | :20:31. | :20:37.
is not ruled out the possibility of making the playoffs. It's a huge | :20:38. | :20:41.
challenge, but I have certainly learned in football but you never | :20:42. | :20:44.
say never. Anything is possible. What we have to do is each game as | :20:45. | :20:50.
it comes, and against a tough QPR team, if we managed to get a wind, | :20:51. | :20:55.
we go into Tuesday against Fulham optimistic. Anything is possible, we | :20:56. | :20:58.
have seen teams come late with a good run, why can't it be yes delete | :20:59. | :21:05.
macros? Not long took it off, you probably need to get back to the | :21:06. | :21:08.
dressing room. If they wind tonight, it would leave them just six points | :21:09. | :21:12.
to lead my place is off of the spot they want. Thank you very much. | :21:13. | :21:19.
Onto Nottingham Forest and their new manager Mark Warburton | :21:20. | :21:21.
has his first away game as the Reds boss tomorrow at Preston. | :21:22. | :21:24.
Forest are just one point above the relegation places | :21:25. | :21:27.
It will be a nervy end to the season for Warburton as Forest have a tough | :21:28. | :21:32.
run in and he's taking nothing for granted. | :21:33. | :21:38.
A lot of very good teams have been relegated, it's too easy to say | :21:39. | :21:44.
you're too good to go down. It's a very dangerous game. All we have to | :21:45. | :21:48.
do is show are quality, work hard, prepare well for every single game, | :21:49. | :21:52.
take one game at a time. Focus on delivering the performance is that | :21:53. | :21:55.
we need to get the right results to keep us in the division and that's | :21:56. | :21:56.
what we have to do. Into League Two and Meadow Lane | :21:57. | :21:57.
is a great place to be nowadays. Notts County are flying and looking | :21:58. | :22:00.
for their fifth home win under They welcome Colchester | :22:01. | :22:03.
United this weekend. Steve Evans super Stags | :22:04. | :22:07.
could leapfrog Exeter into a playoff And in ice hockey - | :22:08. | :22:15.
Nottingham Panthers head into the end of season | :22:16. | :22:18.
play offs this weekend - and it doesn't get much more | :22:19. | :22:25.
exciting - or tricky - than a two legged home and away | :22:26. | :22:28.
quarter final against Sheffield The old enemy finished one place | :22:29. | :22:30.
but many points above Nottingham Those games can be pretty | :22:31. | :22:38.
explosive and pretty fun. You see a lot of goals | :22:39. | :22:43.
and I don't want to see either team on the power play all night | :22:44. | :22:46.
long, I want a nice, pure, clean playoff game and those | :22:47. | :22:49.
games are the best to watch because everyone | :22:50. | :22:52.
is Yes, there's a little bit | :22:53. | :22:53.
of extra pressure, but I think when there's that extra | :22:54. | :22:57.
pressure, you rise to that occasion and you want to fuel that and take | :22:58. | :23:00.
that energy onto the ice. Enjoy your sport, whoever you are | :23:01. | :23:10.
watching this evening. With everything from | :23:11. | :23:14.
an authentic trapdoor to crime inspired exhibitions - | :23:15. | :23:16.
the former Galleries of Justice in Nottingham will re-open | :23:17. | :23:18.
to the public from tomorrow. Newly named the National Justice | :23:19. | :23:23.
Museum - the site has undergone a ?1 million refurbishment | :23:24. | :23:27.
and hopes to put crimes past Step into a world dedicated | :23:28. | :23:30.
to all things crime and punishment. The former Galleries | :23:31. | :23:39.
of Justice Museum in Nottingham has undergone a major | :23:40. | :23:41.
revamp, funded by the national From opening up more space | :23:42. | :23:44.
in the centuries' old building two We have become the | :23:45. | :23:57.
National Justice Museum. This is part of the | :23:58. | :24:03.
county jail, but it We've got popular and | :24:04. | :24:05.
topical issues about immigration, how it breaks the law, | :24:06. | :24:10.
and then a holding exhibition about It's opening the whole thing up | :24:11. | :24:13.
and giving it a whole This former cell is now | :24:14. | :24:16.
a gallery full of artwork We whitewashed all the walls | :24:17. | :24:20.
to give it a kind of Lots of new exhibitions, | :24:21. | :24:23.
the crime gallery exhibition, the condemned | :24:24. | :24:26.
exhibition, we've also got a theatre So when you go in the court room | :24:27. | :24:28.
now, you're going to get a kind So it's to give it | :24:29. | :24:33.
a historical flavour, but This room is a new | :24:34. | :24:36.
addition to the museum. Underneath my feet is the original | :24:37. | :24:41.
Wandsworth trap door. If you were consigned | :24:42. | :24:43.
to be executed, then there would be | :24:44. | :24:45.
a noose around your neck and these doors | :24:46. | :24:51.
would have opened as he | :24:52. | :24:52.
plunged to your death. The trap door is just one of 40,000 | :24:53. | :24:54.
crime related artifacts that mean the newly named National | :24:55. | :24:58.
Justice Museum houses the largest The aim is to bring this | :24:59. | :25:01.
to life whilst also exploring contemporary | :25:02. | :25:04.
criminal issues. And, at the end of the day, | :25:05. | :25:07.
just make sure you are on the right side of the door when | :25:08. | :25:11.
the lights go out. That is creepy! | :25:12. | :25:23.
But that trapdoor... Nightmare stuff, isn't it? I am not | :25:24. | :25:29.
afraid of heights, but... Well, hopefully the weather won't be | :25:30. | :25:31.
so much of a nightmare. It's not looking like such a | :25:32. | :25:37.
nightmare, but it is kicking off with a few April showers. Today we | :25:38. | :25:42.
did see some sunshine is removed through the afternoon. You can see | :25:43. | :25:46.
that on the visible satellite here. East was definitely best is removed | :25:47. | :25:50.
through the afternoon. As we move into the weekend, it will feel | :25:51. | :25:54.
slightly fresher. Temperatures dropping down a couple of degrees | :25:55. | :25:58.
further. Saturday kicking off with some showers, but some sunny spells | :25:59. | :26:03.
in the mix as well, high-pressure moving in on Sunday, settling things | :26:04. | :26:06.
down but still dry and bright. Here is what is going on in the bigger | :26:07. | :26:10.
picture. He had seen the cold front to shooting off to the east, that | :26:11. | :26:14.
has drawn in some cooler air. Showers on Saturday before we see | :26:15. | :26:18.
that ridge of high pressure building in an settling things down. But in | :26:19. | :26:21.
the detail onto the map as we go through this evening and overnight, | :26:22. | :26:25.
one or two showers to look out for through this evening, but then it | :26:26. | :26:29.
looks largely dry. Clear spells, more in the way of cloud building | :26:30. | :26:33.
and from the west into the early hours. Overnight lows of nine | :26:34. | :26:37.
Celsius. Into tomorrow, it'll be a fairly cloudy start the day first | :26:38. | :26:43.
thing. A few outbreaks of rain, but as we move into the afternoon, | :26:44. | :26:46.
starting to see some sunny spells developing, one or two showers the | :26:47. | :26:49.
lookout for that you have the potential to be quite happy, | :26:50. | :26:52.
contained the odd grumble of thunder, some lightning and me the | :26:53. | :26:59.
Clee -- maybe even a bit of hail. The breeze is easing today. Pleasant | :27:00. | :27:05.
and any sunshine, that high-pressure is pushing in. It will be fairly | :27:06. | :27:10.
dry. Write a chilly start the day, but temperatures reaching a maximum | :27:11. | :27:14.
of 13 Celsius. Brightness around, not looking too bad as we move | :27:15. | :27:18.
through the weekend. Saturday, some shadows showers the lookout for, | :27:19. | :27:22.
Sunday looking the more lively of the two. | :27:23. | :27:29.
Sounds lovely. I am back with your update through the weekend. And then | :27:30. | :27:34.
and and Dominic are back after that. We hope you have a wonderful | :27:35. | :27:37.
weekend. Thank you for joining us. Goodbye. | :27:38. | :27:55.
For full sets and more from the weekend, | :27:56. | :28:10.
I expect you'll want to become a schoolmaster? | :28:11. | :28:15.
That's what most of the gentlemen does that get sent down for | :28:16. | :28:18.
indecent behaviour. Evelyn Waugh's classic novel. | :28:19. | :28:21.
Have you ever been in love, Mr Pennyfeather? No, not yet. | :28:22. | :28:23.
The fire escape is very dangerous and never to be used, | :28:24. | :28:26.
And also just awesome. That's what you want to eat. | :28:27. | :28:34.
MasterChef is back, to find the country's best home chef. | :28:35. | :28:38.
The MasterChef kitchen is alive once more. Come on, let's go! | :28:39. | :28:44.
That's one of the hardest things I've ever had to do in my life. | :28:45. | :28:50.
And also just awesome. That's what you want to eat. | :28:51. | :28:55. |
