Now on BBC One, it's time for the news where you are.

:00:00.:00:13.

With your news now for the East Midlands, I'm Maurice Flynn.

:00:14.:00:16.

A hunt's underway in Nottingham tonight for the man who

:00:17.:00:19.

sexually assaulted two people in separate parts of the city,

:00:20.:00:22.

The attacks happened just mhnutes apart in Wollaton and Lenton,

:00:23.:00:27.

Both crime scenes have been cordoned off all day today,

:00:28.:00:32.

as the police make a meticulous search for evidence.

:00:33.:00:37.

The first attack was here on Hillside, which links thd back

:00:38.:00:39.

of the Queen's Medical Centre to Derby Road in Lenton.

:00:40.:00:43.

Then, at 8:30am, just half `n hour later and two miles away,

:00:44.:00:51.

the second woman was assaulted here at Woodyard Lane, in Wollaton.

:00:52.:00:56.

Detectives believe that both of the alleged

:00:57.:00:59.

serious sexual assaults werd carried out by the same man.

:01:00.:01:03.

Now, he's described as being mixed-race,

:01:04.:01:06.

in his late teens or early 20s, and was wearing a hoodie,

:01:07.:01:09.

and it is believed he may h`ve been travelling by bicycle.

:01:10.:01:15.

There is CCTV at this second location, but anyone who saw

:01:16.:01:19.

anything at either seen is trged to contact Nottinghamshire Police.

:01:20.:01:25.

The coming together of thred police forces to share resources won't see

:01:26.:01:31.

a complete merger but could lead to some job losses.

:01:32.:01:33.

That's according to one of the region's police commisshoners.

:01:34.:01:36.

He was speaking on today's Sunday Politics, after

:01:37.:01:38.

the Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire

:01:39.:01:40.

forces announced plans to combine even more resources

:01:41.:01:43.

Across the five East Midlands forces, there is a lot

:01:44.:01:48.

of collaboration on serious organised crime, on murder,

:01:49.:01:51.

on forensics and all of that works extremely well.

:01:52.:01:55.

Now, this is a, kind of, practical step, to collabor`te a bit

:01:56.:01:58.

Let's be honest, the public purse is tight,

:01:59.:02:04.

We are bringing in a new cadre of recruits next month in November,

:02:05.:02:09.

and that is really exciting, because it has been two years now,

:02:10.:02:17.

that we have had to stop recruiting because it has not been affordable.

:02:18.:02:20.

And one of the reasons why we can now afford to recruit is because of

:02:21.:02:24.

the level of cooperation th`t has saved the money.

:02:25.:02:27.

There was a full report and studio discussion on this in today's

:02:28.:02:30.

Sunday Politics for the East Midlands.

:02:31.:02:31.

That edition is available now on the BBC iPlayer.

:02:32.:02:34.

A heritage railway says it now has ambitious plans to expand its main

:02:35.:02:38.

It's the latest stage in the 15-year development

:02:39.:02:42.

of the Ecclesbourne Valley line and follows the opening

:02:43.:02:44.

of a new booking hall and w`iting room at its southern termints

:02:45.:02:48.

in Duffield, as James Roberson reports.

:02:49.:02:51.

This is how Duffield Station on the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway

:02:52.:02:54.

looked 12 years ago, and this is how it looks today,

:02:55.:02:57.

with the new booking hall the crowning glory.

:02:58.:03:01.

Officially open at last, it has taken 18 months of h`rd graft

:03:02.:03:06.

by a team of dedicated volunteers to build the hall.

:03:07.:03:10.

We have got a very resolute band of brothers here that

:03:11.:03:13.

in all weathers, it matters not - they turned up and did the work

:03:14.:03:17.

and the team have done a prdtty dam good job.

:03:18.:03:20.

Our trains connect to the E`st Midlands Trains services.

:03:21.:03:22.

In fact, it is quite possible to buy a ticket from St Pancras,

:03:23.:03:26.

change at Derby, to Duffield and you are here.

:03:27.:03:28.

So, yeah, most importantly, this is a real gateway.

:03:29.:03:30.

Having taken the railway from derelict fully operational

:03:31.:03:35.

in 15 years, the volunteers now have ambitious plans

:03:36.:03:38.

to do some more for its northern end at Wirksworth.

:03:39.:03:45.

We already have work in hand to build the maintenance facilities

:03:46.:03:48.

for not only these rail-cars that you see here but also for

:03:49.:03:51.

Ultimately, we want to rebuhld Wirksworth Station do have something

:03:52.:03:54.

is equally magnificent as we have here today.

:03:55.:03:58.

They hope to achieve those plans in the next few years.

:03:59.:04:01.

James Roberson, BBC East Midlands Today, Derbyshire.

:04:02.:04:06.

Now, you'll remember that after the 2012 Olympics in London,

:04:07.:04:10.

postboxes were painted gold in the home area of each

:04:11.:04:12.

It was such a popular idea that this weekend there was a similar tribute

:04:13.:04:17.

for Kirkby-in-Ashfield's dotble gold-winning Paralympian Ollie Hynd.

:04:18.:04:21.

His friends, neighbours and family all gathered,

:04:22.:04:24.

to surprise him with a golddn road sign on the street where he grew up.

:04:25.:04:30.

Yeah, it is a little bit surreal, really.

:04:31.:04:31.

I definitely was not expecthng it, but of course I am very

:04:32.:04:35.

proud to be from Kirkby, so to have this honour...

:04:36.:04:38.

Yeah, I am just a little bit speechless.

:04:39.:04:41.

Thank you to everyone on thhs street who has supported me over

:04:42.:04:44.

Everyone has been fantastic in the journey from London to Rio,

:04:45.:04:50.

I think it is great that it is there for everybody.

:04:51.:04:59.

Bit a golden afternoon for most of us today,

:05:00.:05:01.

With details of what's coming our way next,

:05:02.:05:04.

It was a cool and cloudy start to the day today,

:05:05.:05:10.

but we did see some brightndss into the afternoon.

:05:11.:05:13.

As we move through this evening and overnight,

:05:14.:05:14.

I think we will see plenty of clear spells, and a bit

:05:15.:05:18.

of patchy cloud around, with temperatures falling

:05:19.:05:20.

Now, as we move into tomorrow morning, we will still see

:05:21.:05:24.

We have a bit in the way of cloud pushing up from the south,

:05:25.:05:30.

There will be some bright spells in the mix as well,

:05:31.:05:34.

with temperatures at a maximum of 12 Celsius,

:05:35.:05:37.

It is a cool start to the wdek as we start tomorrow,

:05:38.:05:42.

but as we move the week, we will see those temperatures

:05:43.:05:44.

creeping up slightly by a couple of degrees.

:05:45.:05:47.

More from us at 10.20pm, when we'll have results

:05:48.:05:50.

from the Tigers and Panthers games for you too.

:05:51.:05:53.

Hello. More details coming up in Countryfile, but there are changes

:05:54.:06:17.

over the week ahead. A quiet start, old, patchy frost and sunshine. From

:06:18.:06:23.

midweek onwards, the temperatures rise a little, because we get a

:06:24.:06:28.

westerly wind. For the moment, we still have an easterly, more cloud

:06:29.:06:33.

coming in as well. Not as cold as last night. There could be some rain

:06:34.:06:37.

along the south coast, mainly clipping the south-west of England,

:06:38.:06:42.

and showers on an easterly breeze. Where we have brakes, patchy frost

:06:43.:06:47.

and fog. We see the contrast, North and south. The fault will lift, for

:06:48.:06:52.

sunshine. Fewer showers on Monday. Further south, more cloud, and there

:06:53.:06:55.

could

:06:56.:06:56.
