Hundreds of villagers gathered in Derbyshire today to fight


People in Newton near Alfreton say the announcement


of a connecting line to Sheffield, which would run through the village,


has already seen property prices plummet by tens


HS2 says it will consult on the plans.


But villagers say they're determined to unite against them.

Elite swimming clubs in Derby have been told they can no longer use


The council had re-opened it for them while repairs took place


at Derby's other pool, the Queens Leisure Centre.


But now it says it's costing too much.


The clubs have agreed to find other venues by the end of the month.


An acting school that develops and trains young people


in Nottingham is having to move after more than 30 years.


The Television Workshop's got until the end of

The Television Workshop's former students include Samantha Morton,


Jack O'Connell and Vicky McClure, who all cut their teeth in this

But it's our space and it belongs to everybody that's worked in it.


If you want a place here, the competition's certainly fierce.


For the 1,000 or so people who audition here every year,

Director and patron here, Shane Meadows, was so impressed


with the talent on show at this workshop, he actually created roles


The Workshop planned to move this summer so that it could expand,


but now the building's been sold, it's left with two

Onto football, and Nottingham Forest fans are calling for its owner


to reconsider the club's failed takeover deal.


Fawaz Al Hasawi announced last night that long negotiations

Today, they won their second game in the Continental Cup final.
