With your news now for the East Midlands, I'm Maurice Flynn.

:00:13.:00:14.

Detectives investigating the death of a man in Nottingham

:00:15.:00:18.

on Good Friday have confirmed the victim was a teenager.

:00:19.:00:21.

He'd been found injured at a property on Woodborough Road,

:00:22.:00:28.

was taken to hospital, but died a short while later.

:00:29.:00:31.

Police say they're following up several lines of enquiry,

:00:32.:00:33.

A race at Donington Park had to be stopped today,

:00:34.:00:39.

as two young drivers were injured in a crash.

:00:40.:00:41.

It involved several cars in round six of

:00:42.:00:43.

A statement from the circuit confirms 17-year-old Billy Monger

:00:44.:00:49.

had to be cut from his vehicle, having suffered leg injuries.

:00:50.:00:52.

He and fellow driver Patrik Pasma were taken to hospital.

:00:53.:00:56.

A street in Derby was partly closed today as police investigated

:00:57.:00:58.

They were called to Rutland Street early this morning.

:00:59.:01:02.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident.

:01:03.:01:06.

A Derbyshire farmer has put up a wooden cross

:01:07.:01:09.

in his field to remind people of Christianity this Easter.

:01:10.:01:14.

At the Highfield Happy Hens Farm in Etwall anyone

:01:15.:01:18.

of the Christian faith - or who is simply curious -

:01:19.:01:21.

is invited to hammer a nail into the cross or take one from it.

:01:22.:01:26.

The farmer says it's to remind people of the meaning of Easter.

:01:27.:01:28.

One by one they have been so full of nails that they've

:01:29.:01:35.

It's about Jesus dying on the cross for us.

:01:36.:01:41.

The fact is, the cross is empty, that's the key.

:01:42.:01:44.

The cross is actually empty apart from the nails.

:01:45.:01:46.

And coinciding with Easter this year were

:01:47.:01:48.

Crowds joined a procession in Nottingham earlier to mark

:01:49.:01:52.

the start of the Sikh New Year, which also celebrates

:01:53.:01:54.

It's usually marked on the weekend following April 13th,

:01:55.:01:59.

which is why this year it's coincided with Easter Sunday.

:02:00.:02:03.

Organisers say it's a great way to show our similiarities.

:02:04.:02:08.

The whole human race is one so recognise everybody as one.

:02:09.:02:13.

We may be different colours, different faith but at the end

:02:14.:02:16.

of the day our blood is the same colour and we come to the earth

:02:17.:02:19.

in the same way and we are going to leave the same way.

:02:20.:02:23.

Apprentices at an East Midlands bus company are learning modern skills

:02:24.:02:28.

The bus was one of a fleet that used to serve routes around

:02:29.:02:33.

Leicester back in the 1950s, as Helen Astle reports.

:02:34.:02:36.

In its heyday the 154 carried thousands of

:02:37.:02:37.

But by 1981 it had fallen into disrepair and was found

:02:38.:02:44.

It was brought back to Leicester, where it was fully restored.

:02:45.:02:57.

Gary was one of the engineers who worked on the bus.

:02:58.:02:59.

He is now teaching new apprentice Liam his knowledge.

:03:00.:03:02.

It's a lot of old skills which were taught in those days

:03:03.:03:05.

which I would say are not been used these days.

:03:06.:03:07.

So it's nice to keep them going for the new lads.

:03:08.:03:10.

It is fascinating to work on such a project.

:03:11.:03:12.

Personally, I've always liked working with old vehicles.

:03:13.:03:15.

I've always liked the idea of working with old vehicles

:03:16.:03:17.

Today the bus is used by the Leicester Transport Heritage Trust,

:03:18.:03:23.

It's what attracts the most interest from the general public.

:03:24.:03:33.

People associate it with going to school in the past,

:03:34.:03:36.

It's one of the traditional type of vehicles where you get on and off

:03:37.:03:41.

at the back and you would have had a conductor.

:03:42.:03:44.

The bus doesn't take fee-paying passengers any more.

:03:45.:03:45.

It's used at local events and rallies to promote the city

:03:46.:03:48.

and to give people an insight into a bygone era.

:03:49.:03:55.

Let's check on the weather for the Bank Holiday now -

:03:56.:03:58.

After some brighter intervals this morning

:03:59.:04:05.

we did see some rain this

:04:06.:04:06.

afternoon but as we move through tonight that will largely

:04:07.:04:09.

Variable amounts of cloud, one or two showers but most of us

:04:10.:04:16.

seeing a dry night with overnight lows between five and six Celsius.

:04:17.:04:19.

As we move into tomorrow, Easter Monday, we're looking

:04:20.:04:21.

at a largely cloudy day, although there will be

:04:22.:04:23.

some brighter intervals, the odd sunny spell,

:04:24.:04:25.

particularly the further east you are, but one or two

:04:26.:04:27.

showers to look out for, particularly into the afternoon.

:04:28.:04:30.

Highs of 11 Celsius with a gentle north-westerly breeze.

:04:31.:04:35.

Overnight into Tuesday we are looking at a chilly one,

:04:36.:04:38.

so a touch of frost to begin the day.

:04:39.:04:41.

Then it's going to be largely dry with some sunny spells.

:04:42.:04:44.

Again our temperatures not up to much but in any sunshine

:04:45.:04:46.

A largely cloudy day on the way tomorrow,

:04:47.:04:50.

From me and the weekend team this Easter, good night.

:04:51.:05:09.

If today's conditions were great and stamp,

:05:10.:05:13.
