St George's Day today saw people living near a Nottingham Park

celebrate their efforts to restore it and save it from closure.

People living near Onchan Park in Carlton say they won't let it

fall back into disrepair despite vandals again targeting it

Give them all a massive round of applause for all the hard

That's what the focus has been on today.

Over the past year, the park's future seemed under threat

as the local council considered whether to sell part of it off

Residents helped to save it, but recently they've faced

a new threat as vandals damaged the roof and smashed

The message to them, however, is one of unity.

We're doing it for the children of all ages.

The people here today celebrating St George's Day,

along with the revival of the park, were also united in their love

Even though it's little, all the children like it

and it's the perfect place for making memories.

It's nice to have something that's out of school

where you can still keep in touch with your friends.

It's really special to you, isn't it?
