been building enough homes in the capital. | :00:19. | :00:19.
Lloyd's of London calls time on day-time drinking | :00:20. | :00:22.
for its workers in the City, by imposing an alcohol ban. | :00:23. | :00:29.
Drinking at lunchtime has been part of tradition in Lloyds and the City | :00:30. | :00:34.
of London for many hundreds of years and I think so long as you are | :00:35. | :00:37.
sensible, why not be able to continue at? | :00:38. | :00:38.

Good evening and welcome to the programme with me, Asad Ahmad. | :01:03. | :01:06.
The government's Help to Buy Loan Scheme, | :01:07. | :01:08.
aimed at getting more people onto the housing ladder | :01:09. | :01:10.
Although 100,000 people have been helped across England | :01:11. | :01:17.
since its launch several years ago, there's at least one borough | :01:18. | :01:19.
in London, where the number of people helped is just two. | :01:20. | :01:25.
Our Political Editor, Tim Donovan has been | :01:26. | :01:27.
looking at the numbers, and can tell us more now, Tim. | :01:28. | :01:35.
With a Help to Buy: Equity Loan the Government lends you up to 20% | :01:36. | :01:48.
The Government brought in Help to Buy back in 2013. | :01:49. | :01:51.
Making available a loan of 20% to first-time-buyers of newly-built | :01:52. | :01:53.
homes across the UK, which was then last year | :01:54. | :01:55.
Sophie and Ollie bought a two-bedroom flat in Catford, | :01:56. | :01:59.
It cost 402,000 quid and they got a loan of more | :02:00. | :02:03.
We started looking at shared ownership, but the fact that we | :02:04. | :02:09.
would have had to have paid rent on a property that we didn't own would | :02:10. | :02:12.
mean that in the five years that the Government help to buy loan is | :02:13. | :02:14.
interest-free, we would've actually wrapped up about ?25,000 of rent in | :02:15. | :02:15.
that time. Not so lucky, not yet | :02:16. | :02:15.
anyway, is Rachael. She's 27, and is currently | :02:16. | :02:17.
paying ?900 a month She'd be interested in Help-to-Buy, | :02:18. | :02:20.
but you have to find a 5% deposit. Living in London, earning a wage | :02:21. | :02:36.
that you can live on untried and save and try and buy a property in | :02:37. | :02:42.
London, it is very difficult. If something else was to come into | :02:43. | :02:46.
play, that would be great. I will definitely try and get a help to buy | :02:47. | :02:48.
loan and see where that gets me. The BBC has analysed how | :02:49. | :02:49.
Help-to-Buy has worked Outside of London people made | :02:50. | :02:51.
use of it to purchase nearly 77,000 homes, | :02:52. | :02:54.
just under a third But in London, there | :02:55. | :02:56.
was a stark difference. 4,483 homes were bought | :02:57. | :03:03.
under the scheme. This is why, according | :03:04. | :03:05.
to one expert. The problem for most people in | :03:06. | :03:15.
London is there is a cap of ?600,000 which in London doesn't buy you a | :03:16. | :03:18.
great deal these days. New-build properties that have been put | :03:19. | :03:22.
forward in these schemes have been few and far between. Even people who | :03:23. | :03:25.
qualify for these loans and Phyllis Government assistance has found it | :03:26. | :03:29.
very hard to find properties they can indeed buy. | :03:30. | :03:31.
Well, the Department for Communities and Local Government didn't address | :03:32. | :03:34.
the point about the limited impact in London, except saying take up had | :03:35. | :03:37.
doubled since the loan had been increased to up to 40%. | :03:38. | :03:40.
A spokesman said more than 100,000 people had benefited | :03:41. | :03:42.
across the Uk from help-to-buy, and it was one of a number | :03:43. | :03:45.
A woman in east London has been left fighting for her life | :03:46. | :03:58.
after being stabbed in an apparently motiveless attack, | :03:59. | :04:00.
It happened near Castle Green Park, where the woman had | :04:01. | :04:05.
Mark Ashdown is near the scene for us tonight, with more details. | :04:06. | :04:10.
Yes, even the police have been taken aback by the ferocity of this | :04:11. | :04:23.
seemingly random attack. It happened on Monday evening, the victim a | :04:24. | :04:27.
29-year-old woman, was on her way home from the job in the city when | :04:28. | :04:31.
she got up a bus just across there any other Mac 13. She walked through | :04:32. | :04:34.
this park and was found moments later slumped yards from her door | :04:35. | :04:41.
here. She suffered serious, severe, multiple standpoints to her head and | :04:42. | :04:47.
her body. She remained in hospital in a critical condition with | :04:48. | :04:50.
life-threatening injuries. This area is bus or CCTV. Police are baffled | :04:51. | :04:55.
as to who committed such a crime and why. | :04:56. | :04:57.
This really brutal and horrific stabbing of a young lady coming home | :04:58. | :05:00.
At about 9:40pm in this park, only yards from | :05:01. | :05:03.
That attack has left her in a terribly critical condition. | :05:04. | :05:10.
Currently in hospital with life-threatening injuries. | :05:11. | :05:13.
We're desperate to locate the person who committed those injuries | :05:14. | :05:15.
The scene of the crime officer has been here all day searching through | :05:16. | :05:27.
the undergrowth. At one point, they found what looked like the contents | :05:28. | :05:30.
of a bag which had been emptied out. The police dogs have been here as | :05:31. | :05:35.
well. There try to reassure the community that the area is safe, | :05:36. | :05:40.
extra patrols are here this evening. They are also appealing for the | :05:41. | :05:43.
communities it for help. We do not even know if it was a man or a | :05:44. | :05:46.
woman, but suspect they are looking for. They believe the community | :05:47. | :05:53.
holds the key to the suspects which has left a woman in critical | :05:54. | :05:58.
condition. -- suspect. After 300 years in the City, long, | :05:59. | :06:04.
boozy lunches are now off It's because the insurance market | :06:05. | :06:06.
has put a ban on staff drinking Lloyd's says drinking | :06:07. | :06:11.
accounts for over half of its disciplinaries, | :06:12. | :06:13.
so Tolu Adeoye has You can probably see quite a few | :06:14. | :06:22.
people enjoying a drink behind me. The issue here is drinking during | :06:23. | :06:30.
the day. Many people say it is unnecessary, if you are in certain | :06:31. | :06:35.
professions you wouldn't consider it, but the insurance sector, it | :06:36. | :06:37.
isn't uncommon. That is where there has been banned today. | :06:38. | :06:43.
Wednesday lunchtime, The Grapes pub in Leadenhall market. | :06:44. | :06:45.
The popular painter stopped for city workers | :06:46. | :06:47.
This pub and others could soon see fewer | :06:48. | :06:50.
The boozy lunch was once a staple of city life | :06:51. | :06:54.
where deals were done and contacts were made. | :06:55. | :06:57.
Gone are the days of the lunchtime pint and it wants to bring | :06:58. | :07:01.
itself in line with other companies that are already operating under | :07:02. | :07:04.
The corporation's 800 employees have been | :07:05. | :07:09.
banned from drinking between | :07:10. | :07:10.
Brokers or underwriters from other firms based | :07:11. | :07:14.
in the insurance market are unaffected. | :07:15. | :07:18.
In a memo to staff, Lloyds said more than half of | :07:19. | :07:20.
grievance and disciplinary cases over the last couple of years were | :07:21. | :07:23.
The culture now is certainly different to what it | :07:24. | :07:27.
One city commentator told me the ban was symptomatic of a | :07:28. | :07:31.
wider shift, but this took it too far. | :07:32. | :07:35.
I think it is a little bit over extreme. | :07:36. | :07:40.
You have two treat your employees like adults. | :07:41. | :07:42.
The days of nannying people, it is like being | :07:43. | :07:45.
Most responsible employees will drink responsibly, if | :07:46. | :07:50.
they feel the need to drink at lunch time. | :07:51. | :07:53.
Ultimately, when you are in the city, sometimes you will have to | :07:54. | :07:56.
go out with a client and potentially have a drink at lunch time. | :07:57. | :07:59.
Drinking at lunchtime has been part of | :08:00. | :08:04.
tradition at Lloyd's and the City of London | :08:05. | :08:07.
I think as long as we are sensible, why not be able to continue at? | :08:08. | :08:12.
In general, it is a good idea to say to | :08:13. | :08:14.
You certainly don't want employees coming back trunk, but the's nothing | :08:15. | :08:19.
wrong in having a drink now and again. | :08:20. | :08:26.
Productivity goes down if you have had a drink in the afternoons. | :08:27. | :08:29.
I would be happy if we weren't allowed. | :08:30. | :08:33.
Lloyds say a band removes any ambiguity on what is acceptable. | :08:34. | :08:35.
If someone is found to have broken the rule, it will be down to their | :08:36. | :08:39.
manager to decide the best course of action to take. | :08:40. | :08:41.
Joining me now is Laura Willoughby from 'Club Soda' which helps | :08:42. | :08:45.
businesses encourage their employees to drink less. | :08:46. | :08:52.
Is this an overreaction? Are not sure. We consider stats that they | :08:53. | :08:59.
are having issues about disciplinary. They're coming in line | :09:00. | :09:02.
with other businesses in the city. They clearly feel it is affecting | :09:03. | :09:06.
the work they do. It is a job that requires lots of fine detail. They | :09:07. | :09:10.
hold people's lives in their hands on the insurance sector. It is not | :09:11. | :09:13.
as a price that they may want to make some changes in the way the | :09:14. | :09:18.
culture works in the industry. Can't staff be trusted to not drink too | :09:19. | :09:21.
much during the working hours? They have been doing it forever 300 | :09:22. | :09:25.
years. That is true. They are seeing it affect their business. Were | :09:26. | :09:29.
importantly, you know what is like when your mates put pressure on you | :09:30. | :09:33.
to have a drink. It doesn't take a lot of that to go over the top at | :09:34. | :09:37.
lunchtime and for that to affect your performance. You are there to | :09:38. | :09:42.
do a job, with detail, in the financial sector. Clearly, Lloyds | :09:43. | :09:45.
have decided that now is the time to say that that is not acceptable. I | :09:46. | :09:50.
do drive 12 months of the year, but in terms of how the city is | :09:51. | :09:56.
concerned, it is one of the more successful financial sectors. I know | :09:57. | :10:03.
others like me go out and do a business deal. People might have a | :10:04. | :10:11.
dream they do the deal. There's not drinking for an hour really kill | :10:12. | :10:17.
you? I am not sure it does. There is a myth that you can only do business | :10:18. | :10:21.
over an alcoholic drink. On the other side, you meet the clients | :10:22. | :10:24.
that go I wish that our brokers wouldn't go out and get a strong | :10:25. | :10:28.
corporate time. Maybe we need to just give everyone a break and say | :10:29. | :10:31.
it is not compulsory to drink any more. You helped to blow that myth. | :10:32. | :10:33.
Thank you. Well the story has | :10:34. | :10:35.
certainly got many of our Lots of comments and opinions | :10:36. | :10:37.

on our Facebook page, or maybe while you | :10:41. | :10:43.

on both tubes and trains next week. Members of the RMT Union on parts | :10:54. | :10:56.

conductors on Southern Rail will also go on strike, | :11:00. | :11:03.
for 24 hours, in the long running dispute over | :11:04. | :11:05.
driver-operated doors. The Women's cycling | :11:06. | :11:09.
tour is coming to London Mayor of London, Sadeeq Khan | :11:10. | :11:11.
made the announcement alongside Olympic Gold Medalist, | :11:12. | :11:15.
Katie Archibald, just days after a protest demanding safer | :11:16. | :11:18.
cycling on London's roads. Last week, three cyclists | :11:19. | :11:23.
died in the capital One cyclist getting injured is one | :11:24. | :11:25.
too many, let alone one dying. And there have been | :11:26. | :11:32.
too many injuries and fatalities of | :11:33. | :11:34.
cyclists in London. We have got to have more | :11:35. | :11:35.
segregated cycling. We have got to get more | :11:36. | :11:40.
cycleways across London and we have got to encourage more girls | :11:41. | :11:42.
and more women to cycle, as well. We have got to make | :11:43. | :11:46.
it easier and safer. How will London businesses, | :11:47. | :11:48.
reliant on EU workers, They'll be fine, | :11:49. | :11:55.
according to a new report. Migration Watch, who have long been | :11:56. | :12:01.
campaigning for lower migration to the UK, | :12:02. | :12:03.
say their new survey shows that EU workers will stay and the UK | :12:04. | :12:06.
could reduce migration But critics of the survey | :12:07. | :12:08.
say that the picture is far more complicated, | :12:09. | :12:11.
as Alex Bushill explains. This is one of the most diverse | :12:12. | :12:23.
places anywhere in the country. It is a community that has been shaped | :12:24. | :12:28.
by mass immigration. Now a campaign group, migration watch UK, says that | :12:29. | :12:33.
so many people have come to settle here and elsewhere in London that | :12:34. | :12:37.
any end to mass immigration would have no effect whatsoever on our | :12:38. | :12:42.
economy. What we know is that 335,000 more people immigrated to | :12:43. | :12:46.
the United kingdoms and left it last year. Half of those people or more | :12:47. | :12:53.
were from as the EU. This could be reduced by 100,000 without hurting | :12:54. | :12:59.
the economy. Growing the economy through immigration is the wrong | :13:00. | :13:03.
type. More people here means the economy is going to grow. If you | :13:04. | :13:06.
look at GDP per head, that has remained pretty much stationery from | :13:07. | :13:13.
any years now. We really have two wean ourselves off cheap European | :13:14. | :13:20.
particularly east European labour. That cannot go on. His view is not | :13:21. | :13:25.
popular here and this million resident here disagree. If we need | :13:26. | :13:33.
beta, we're going to apply for these. If we need work permit, we | :13:34. | :13:41.
are going to apply for it. You're not going anywhere? Know. I will be | :13:42. | :13:47.
here, no matter what. Alex has just arrived here from Transylvania. I | :13:48. | :13:52.
came because I want to work. Deserve that right. That opportunity. Others | :13:53. | :13:58.
pointed that assumption that other EU nationals working here will | :13:59. | :14:02.
either choose or be allowed to stay. There is also the problem of an | :14:03. | :14:06.
ageing population. The working age population may strike and certainly | :14:07. | :14:08.
of migration reduces essentially, it could strengthen significantly. That | :14:09. | :14:13.
would mean that either people have to work longer, later and later. | :14:14. | :14:19.
Retirement ages later. The Government might have do start | :14:20. | :14:21.
borrowing more on the public finances will get worse. This is a | :14:22. | :14:27.
report about immigration that is contested. But then this is Brexit. | :14:28. | :14:36.
With the time now at 6.43, let's take a look at what's | :14:37. | :14:39.
A multi billion pound sewer project is halted by one man and a tree. | :14:40. | :14:43.
And the Russian Revolution lands in London. | :14:44. | :14:46.
And we get to see how it changed the art-world 100 years ago. | :14:47. | :14:58.
Unquestionably saving lives every day, by making London's | :14:59. | :15:02.
They don't get paid much for their important role, | :15:03. | :15:06.
but nevertheless, their jobs are under threat due to changes | :15:07. | :15:08.
Gareth Furby has been to Hounslow where hundreds of parents | :15:09. | :15:13.
Janine Harwood has been working as a school crossing patrol | :15:14. | :15:20.
But twice a day, in term time, she is on duty at this | :15:21. | :15:29.
crossing in Isleworth, west London, even though it | :15:30. | :15:31.
But now, Janine is facing possible redundancy. | :15:32. | :15:41.
She's been written to, along with other crossing patrol | :15:42. | :15:50.
officers working for Hounslow Council. | :15:51. | :15:51.
I believe that at the meetings, we're only going to be told | :15:52. | :15:56.
Jaswinder has also been written to by Hounslow Council, | :15:57. | :16:05.
but at the moment, she's off sick because her foot was run over | :16:06. | :16:08.
by a car while she was on duty on this road. | :16:09. | :16:11.
And now she's also dealing with the possibility of redundancy. | :16:12. | :16:16.
So they're asking schools around us that if you want your lollipop | :16:17. | :16:19.
or lollipop man, you need to pay their wages. | :16:20. | :16:25.
So, are school crossing patrols starting to | :16:26. | :16:27.
BBC London has discovered that as well as Hounslow, | :16:28. | :16:31.
where around 12 posts are understood to be under review, a further | :16:32. | :16:34.
six councils have seen or are expecting possible reductions | :16:35. | :16:40.
This adds up to more than 80 posts that no longer exist | :16:41. | :16:52.
Janine believes that if posts are lost in Hounslow, | :16:53. | :16:55.
then children could die crossing the road. | :16:56. | :16:56.
It's very hard for me to stop drivers, and I am in full hi-viz | :16:57. | :17:01.
and with a lollipop stick in my hand. | :17:02. | :17:03.
Around 250 people have now signed a petition. | :17:04. | :17:07.
It asks the council to reconsider the proposed withdrawal of funding. | :17:08. | :17:11.
It's just children's safety and potentially lives at risk. | :17:12. | :17:14.
Hounslow Council says a decision hasn't yet been made, | :17:15. | :17:25.
but it's facing a spending reduction of ?23 million for | :17:26. | :17:29.
The Government says the funding settlement will give the council | :17:30. | :17:33.
?700 million to spend between now and 2020, allowing it | :17:34. | :17:35.
to deliver services local people value the most. | :17:36. | :17:48.
A man and a tree in Deptford have managed to do something | :17:49. | :17:51.
which hundreds of other Londoners have failed to do, | :17:52. | :17:53.
stop a multi-billion pound Super-Sewer from being built. | :17:54. | :17:58.
Admittedly, the court injunction Mr Hellings has won, | :17:59. | :18:03.
doesn't last long, but it's still a victory | :18:04. | :18:05.
in the ongoing David versus Goliath battle. | :18:06. | :18:06.
John Hellings has lived in the area for 20 years. | :18:07. | :18:15.
As long as he has been here, so have these trees and he | :18:16. | :18:18.
says he is not going to let that change. | :18:19. | :18:34.
It has taken 60 years of growing for these magnificent | :18:35. | :18:36.
structures to come about and it is the only natural beauty we have got | :18:37. | :18:40.
He was granted an emergency injunction from a High | :18:41. | :18:44.
Court judge which stopped the process of cutting back and removing | :18:45. | :18:47.
When the judge at 2am signed the order, I was just | :18:48. | :18:50.
You don't think the law is going to give you that much of a big | :18:51. | :18:55.
favour on Valentine's Day and save all your trees. | :18:56. | :18:57.
This neighbour is backing him all the way. | :18:58. | :18:59.
Everybody will have their opinion and they are | :19:00. | :19:01.
Thames Tideway has released a statement explaining that | :19:02. | :19:10.
one tree needed to be cut down for access | :19:11. | :19:12.
to the site here at the | :19:13. | :19:13.
A number of others needed to be cut back for their own protection. | :19:14. | :19:18.
They have also added for every tree they removed, | :19:19. | :19:26.
they will plant two more in its place. | :19:27. | :19:28.
This is one of the sites along the route of | :19:29. | :19:31.
the new super sewage system aiming to clean up the river for | :19:32. | :19:34.
It is a major overhaul of the original network | :19:35. | :19:43.
designed by Sir Joseph Basiljet around 150 years ago. | :19:44. | :19:46.
The tunnel will start here in Hammersmith, | :19:47. | :19:47.
finishing in Abbey Mills having passed near to | :19:48. | :19:49.
Covering 15 miles, it will cost around ?1.2 billion. | :19:50. | :19:54.
It will take seven years to construct which has | :19:55. | :19:56.
angered some residents along the route. | :19:57. | :19:57.
As for John, his trees are only safe for the next few days | :19:58. | :20:02.
before he goes back to court to continue his fight. | :20:03. | :20:19.
West Ham United's owners say the rising costs | :20:20. | :20:21.
of converting the Olympic stadium into their new home can be blamed | :20:22. | :20:24.
on the people who built it in the first place. | :20:25. | :20:27.
The Mayor has ordered an independent inquiry into why converting | :20:28. | :20:29.
the venue will now cost over ?320 million. | :20:30. | :20:31.
Emma Jones was at London Stadium today. | :20:32. | :20:35.
Smiles from families as West Ham fans enjoy a fun day at their new | :20:36. | :20:41.
stadium. The move to the Hammers new home has not been without problems. | :20:42. | :20:47.
Supporters clashed at early games at the ground. Fans feel that they have | :20:48. | :20:52.
been resolved. It is got better, the stewarding. The last few games I've | :20:53. | :20:58.
come to its been better. No issues at all really. I'm quite happy. | :20:59. | :21:04.
Plenty of questions about the rising cost of converting the Olympic | :21:05. | :21:08.
Stadium into a home for a football club. The mayor has ordered an | :21:09. | :21:14.
independent enquiry. West Ham's owners believe they will find the | :21:15. | :21:17.
problems at the planning stage. I'm sure he would have liked it to be | :21:18. | :21:25.
cheaper, but really he should be looking at the people who built in | :21:26. | :21:28.
the first place. They built it in such a way that it became the | :21:29. | :21:34.
conversion and costly. Had they had built it sensibly, properly, then | :21:35. | :21:44.
this would not have been favourable Stadium. There is a mistake. It took | :21:45. | :21:50.
awhile for the players to to their new team to. The team will head to | :21:51. | :21:54.
warm weather training in to buy in the top half of the Premier League | :21:55. | :21:58.
table. It is always difficult to move to another stadium. It is hard | :21:59. | :22:01.
to actually call it home. It will take its time. The fans are starting | :22:02. | :22:06.
to come round to it. We are coming round to it definitely. Will keep | :22:07. | :22:11.
ill dig on it and keep moving forward. Their manager 's most | :22:12. | :22:15.
recent memory of the stadium won't be a fun one. He has accepted a FA | :22:16. | :22:22.
misconduct charge after this last weekend and been fined ?8,000. | :22:23. | :22:28.
It's 100 years since the Russian Revolution ended | :22:29. | :22:30.
To mark the anniversary, the Royal Academy is presenting | :22:31. | :22:36.
an exhibition which shows how Russian art flourished | :22:37. | :22:38.
during those years and the impact it had | :22:39. | :22:40.
Our Arts Correspondent Brenda Emmanus has been | :22:41. | :22:43.
With over 200 works, many never seen in the UK before, | :22:44. | :22:55.
The Royal Academy latest exhibition explores the complex | :22:56. | :23:00.
interaction between art and politics in the turbulent, yet dynamic period | :23:01. | :23:03.
Russian Revolution wasn't only relevant for | :23:04. | :23:10.
Russian history, but also for the rest of the world. | :23:11. | :23:13.
Especially now at the time of uncertainty and | :23:14. | :23:15.
political upheavals, I think a lot of people turn back | :23:16. | :23:22.
to Russian Revolution and hopefully trying to learn some lessons. | :23:23. | :23:32.
Through paintings, photography films and sculpture, the | :23:33. | :23:33.
exhibition focuses on the period of 15 years between 1917 and 1932, | :23:34. | :23:36.
All these brave new arts were created at | :23:37. | :23:53.
the time of political upheaval, at the time of food shortages where | :23:54. | :23:56.
When people were supposed to have a rationed | :23:57. | :24:00.
same time for all of the demonstrations, all the festivals, | :24:01. | :24:04.
avant-garde artists would decorate cities with beautiful art. | :24:05. | :24:06.
It was a time when artists and writers were | :24:07. | :24:09.
caught up in the revolutionary spirit and believed their work had a | :24:10. | :24:12.
As well as this amazing amazing range | :24:13. | :24:15.
of paintings and photographs and sculptures, you've recreated this | :24:16. | :24:18.
It was a good example of artists being actually useful to workers | :24:19. | :24:25.
rather than just feeding them spiritually, producing all this | :24:26. | :24:28.
By the end of 1920s artists decided to produce | :24:29. | :24:37.
apartments, some useful porcelain that workers can actually use in | :24:38. | :24:39.
Revolution not only introduces to audiences to a host of | :24:40. | :24:50.
little-known Russian artists, but reveals the stories | :24:51. | :24:51.
of the chaotic but creative period in modern | :24:52. | :24:53.
'S Wii has arraigned today. This is the wettest it is going to beaver | :24:54. | :25:11.
the next few days. A lovely picture by what of our weather watchers | :25:12. | :25:19.
showing that rain. Here is the broadband of rain. It moved much | :25:20. | :25:22.
more slowly through the south of England and we were expecting. Heavy | :25:23. | :25:26.
bursts of rain. Left is with some amazing sunsets. This one taken in | :25:27. | :25:32.
Mitcham. There is the last bit of rain. In the next two hours, that | :25:33. | :25:37.
will clear. Then there will be some breaks in the cloud for a while, but | :25:38. | :25:41.
we have got still there overnight and it will turn quite chilly. We | :25:42. | :25:45.
will probably escape frost, but more chilly than it was last night. That | :25:46. | :25:48.
could lead to some pockets of mist or fog as well. They will turn into | :25:49. | :25:57.
a decent day. Still on the mild side. A slow start. Mist or Ram, | :25:58. | :26:04.
patchy start. It may linger in the morning but then we get some good | :26:05. | :26:13.
sunshine in the afternoon. Sunshine and light winds. That will feel | :26:14. | :26:16.
pretty good at this time of year. Running into tomorrow evening and | :26:17. | :26:19.
tomorrow night, we have got little or no breeze at all. Probably a bit | :26:20. | :26:26.
more fog around. Grey start to the day on Friday. Here are the | :26:27. | :26:30.
temperatures. A little bit lower, nothing to worry about. Mist and fog | :26:31. | :26:34.
around on Friday. Things will brighten up through the day. Some | :26:35. | :26:38.
sunshine coming through and that will boost the temperatures to | :26:39. | :26:41.
above-average at this time of year. About 8 degrees at this time of | :26:42. | :26:45.
year. We will get up to about 11 or so. High pressure is going to be | :26:46. | :26:50.
close enough by to us to stop these weather fronts coming in with | :26:51. | :26:54.
anything much at all. We can expected to stay dry. A lot of cloud | :26:55. | :26:56.
around. Before we go tonight, let me just | :26:57. | :27:06.
remind you of the headlines The government's 'Help | :27:07. | :27:09.
to Buy Loan Scheme', aimed at getting more people | :27:10. | :27:16.
onto the housing ladder, In one London borough just two | :27:17. | :27:18.
people have been helped. And a woman is fighting | :27:19. | :27:23.
for her life tonight after being attacked by a stranger | :27:24. | :27:25.
near her home in Dagenham. The stabbing is believed | :27:26. | :27:28.
to have been unprovoked. It'll be nice if you | :27:29. | :27:30.
can join me again. Or just tune in at | :27:31. | :27:36.
the same time tomorrow. when farmers leave | :27:37. | :27:39.
their daily routines behind... Right, here we come, Dorset! | :27:40. | :27:58.
..for a show day. | :27:59. | :28:01. |
