warmth in our direction. But it will

still feel pretty chilly. Thanks.

Coming up on BBC London News:

0:00:070:00:09

The families facing

eviction before Christmas -

0:00:090:00:11

charities calls on councils

to intervene earlier.

0:00:110:00:12

Go and do a home visit,

see what's going on.

0:00:120:00:15

Actually understand

what the families are going through.

0:00:150:00:17

Plus, tackling the wider

housebuilding crisis in the capital

0:00:170:00:19

- the Mayor outlines his new plan.

0:00:190:00:24

Also on the programme: The yoga

centre offering classes specifically

0:00:240:00:27

to children with special needs -

we ask how it makes them feel.

0:00:270:00:32

Happier!

0:00:320:00:34

Like, definitely, I feel very happy.

0:00:340:00:38

I feel more energetic.

0:00:380:00:40

And getting Elvis fans all shook up

as London plays host

0:00:400:00:43

to Presley memorabilia -

some never seen before in the UK.

0:00:430:00:53

A very warm welcome

to the programme.

0:00:590:01:02

We start tonight with

some of the thousands

0:01:020:01:07

of families in the capital

facing eviction, some

0:01:070:01:09

just before Christmas.

0:01:090:01:10

They say they feel "helpless

and confused by the system".

0:01:100:01:13

Charities are now calling

for councils to intervene earlier

0:01:130:01:15

to support families in social

housing struggling to

0:01:150:01:18

manage their money before

it reaches the point

0:01:180:01:20

of homelessness.

0:01:200:01:21

Chris Rogers reports.

0:01:210:01:30

Tomorrow morning, this family could

be homeless. They have been evicted.

0:01:300:01:34

They have nowhere to go. This is all

of your belongings.

Yes.

And you

0:01:340:01:43

haven't unpacked. There is little

point and packing when you know an

0:01:430:01:46

eviction notice is coming.

This is

my eviction letter.

Your temporary

0:01:460:01:51

accommodation will end on Thursday

the 30th of November. Michael and

0:01:510:01:54

Alison were evicted from their

social housing home in Islington.

0:01:540:01:58

They fell thousands of pounds behind

in red. The council offered them

0:01:580:02:01

this house 20 miles away in Purfleet

in Essex. It says that it is your

0:02:010:02:08

fault that you are homeless. They

say they are struggling to

0:02:080:02:11

understand the system, their rights

and obtained the paperwork needed to

0:02:110:02:16

get housing benefit. Alison has

mental health problems, and can

0:02:160:02:19

rarely leave the house. Michael is

struggling to get work, and focuses

0:02:190:02:24

on taking care of the children.

Where do you think you will end up

0:02:240:02:29

next?

We are not sure what's going

to happen. We are only now looking

0:02:290:02:36

to bring other services like

Shelter.

We asked Islington council

0:02:360:02:40

why the family were being held

responsible for their homelessness.

0:02:400:02:43

They told us it could have done more

if it had been contacted earlier in

0:02:430:02:47

the process. Jim Stewart is an

outreach worker with the charity

0:02:470:02:52

school home support. Michael and

Alison are one of ten struggling

0:02:520:02:58

families her family has tried to

help this year.

Homelessness,

0:02:580:03:02

overcrowding and eviction.

In all

cases, the families need somewhere

0:03:020:03:10

to live, whether they have been

evicted or they need to find more

0:03:100:03:14

appropriate accommodation.

And these

are all families with young

0:03:140:03:16

children. It's very confined in this

place anyway. They can only play in

0:03:160:03:24

the corridors.

This is the second

time Kim has had to help Stacey, a

0:03:240:03:28

single parent with four children.

This room with no toilet or kitchen

0:03:280:03:32

is all she can afford. In rent

arrears, she was evicted from her

0:03:320:03:36

council house in August. Now this

landlord wants her out because of

0:03:360:03:40

her son's behaviour. They are giving

you an eviction notice because your

0:03:400:03:50

son?

Touch a fire extinguisher. And

he has ADHD.

Michael is determined

0:03:500:03:57

to keep his children in school here,

so he brings them in and to save

0:03:570:04:02

money, wait all day to take them

home. Collecting mail from the home

0:04:020:04:05

he was evicted from this

heartbreaking for Michael.

It could

0:04:050:04:14

mean that you evict four children

out of these premises, and today in

0:04:140:04:20

the same premises, it is totally

empty.

By foot, by tube, by train,

0:04:200:04:26

by bus. It's a two-hour commute

twice a day to keep his children at

0:04:260:04:32

their school.

I have two young

children experiencing this difficult

0:04:320:04:40

journey daily.

High rents, welfare

reform and life choices all play

0:04:400:04:46

their part, but is eviction always

necessary?

There is a lack of

0:04:460:04:50

communication. If you had done a

home visit, if the housing

0:04:500:04:56

association or council had done a

home visit when things started

0:04:560:04:59

building up, if you have a debt, you

get people write new letters. The

0:04:590:05:03

debts are building up, do a home

visit, see what is going on.

0:05:030:05:08

Understand what the families are

going through.

On average, 100

0:05:080:05:13

families are evicted every day.

Tomorrow, we revisit the emergency

0:05:130:05:20

housing where the evicted and

homeless end up.

Take it hour by

0:05:200:05:24

hour.

Described by charities and

families as modern-day slums.

0:05:240:05:32

Social housing under pressure there,

and the bigger picture we know is

0:05:320:05:36

that a shortage of homes is one

of the biggest challenges

0:05:360:05:38

facing our city.

0:05:380:05:44

Today the Mayor outlined how

he plans to tackle it.

0:05:440:05:46

And it could mean bigger housing

developments being built

0:05:460:05:48

in suburban town centres.

0:05:480:05:49

Sadiq Khan says he'll "rip up"

existing planning rules

0:05:490:05:52

in order to meet his target to build

65,000 homes a year.

0:05:520:05:57

That's double the current rate

of housebuilding in the capital.

0:05:570:05:59

And he wants half of his target

to be "genuinely" affordable.

0:05:590:06:02

So what does it all mean in reality?

0:06:020:06:04

Here's our Political

Editor Tim Donovan.

0:06:040:06:09

The station at Twickenham, home

of English rugby, is finally being

0:06:090:06:12

redeveloped, but of the 115

homes to be built here,

0:06:120:06:14

precisely none will be affordable.

0:06:140:06:16

A concession granted so the scheme

could be finished in

0:06:160:06:19

time for the World Cup in 2015.

0:06:190:06:25

At the time, the planning committee

were pressured to accept a scheme

0:06:250:06:34

that was not affordable

because they wanted

0:06:340:06:39

to be completed in time

for the Rugby World Cup.

0:06:390:06:41

But we are not quite on schedule.

0:06:410:06:43

So very disappointing,

very disappointing.

0:06:430:06:44

It seems absurd to me that

you couldn't provide some level

0:06:440:06:47

of affordability on a site this big.

0:06:470:06:52

It just really is a question of,

are you prepared to build at a high

0:06:520:06:55

enough density?

0:06:550:06:59

Are councils like Richmond,

with among the lowest

0:06:590:07:08

building rates in the capital,

now in the mayor's sights?

0:07:080:07:11

You've got to make more

of opportunities like this

0:07:110:07:13

when they arise, believes the mayor.

0:07:130:07:14

Build higher, certainly

here in the suburbs,

0:07:140:07:16

create more density.

0:07:160:07:17

And because this

is a station, it is a

0:07:170:07:19

chance to change behaviour.

0:07:190:07:20

You can insist on fewer

cars by allowing

0:07:200:07:22

fewer car parking spaces.

0:07:220:07:23

Today, he chose Barking

Riverside, the biggest

0:07:230:07:25

regeneration project in Europe,

to outline his plans.

0:07:250:07:27

Experts have told him the capital

needs 43,000 affordable new

0:07:270:07:29

homes to be built each year.

0:07:290:07:33

He wants more small-scale developers

involved, and the current

0:07:330:07:35

restrictions on density -

how many homes that can be

0:07:350:07:38

squeezed onto sites - lifted.

0:07:380:07:41

But to his opponents,

it's a threat to the suburbs.

0:07:410:07:46

Outer London is going to be made

to look like inner London.

0:07:460:07:49

Now, people live in

the suburbs because

0:07:490:07:51

they like it, because it's greener,

because there's more space, and what

0:07:510:07:58

he's actually done is,

he's declared war on outer

0:07:580:08:00

London, and as a result

of all these policies,

0:08:000:08:02

it's going to be browner,

0:08:020:08:04

more overcrowded and

hard to get around.

0:08:040:08:14

The mayor has pledged

to strengthen protection

0:08:150:08:17

for the green belt.

0:08:170:08:18

That went down well in Ilford today.

0:08:180:08:20

What we did here, we got

loads and loads of

0:08:200:08:22

people, thousands

of people involved.

0:08:220:08:23

Chris led a campaign to fight off

plans to turn the 60 acres

0:08:230:08:27

of playing fields

into a housing estate.

0:08:270:08:28

As far as we are concerned,

it's now saved.

0:08:280:08:30

The council have taken

the plan off the shelf and

0:08:300:08:33

said, "That's no good.

0:08:330:08:43

We are saving Oakfield for sport

and for the community."

0:08:430:08:46

But the local council, Redbridge,

still wants to reclassify

0:08:460:08:48

and build on a tenth

of its green belt,

0:08:480:08:50

saying it's the only way

to

0:08:500:08:51

provide houses needed.

0:08:510:08:52

And one former

Transport Secretary now

0:08:520:08:54

advising the Government on

infrastructure says it's a case for

0:08:540:08:56

sacrificing some green belt.

0:08:560:08:57

I think we can have a win- win here.

0:08:570:08:59

What we can have is

denser developments

0:08:590:09:01

around stations, which are highly

accessible, whilst protecting

0:09:010:09:03

virtually all of the green belt.

0:09:030:09:04

The issue is where the

areas are immediately

0:09:040:09:06

around stations, where you can have

dense developments with excellent

0:09:060:09:09

transport connections,

whether they should be

0:09:090:09:10

open to development.

0:09:100:09:15

At the moment, they often

are developed, and they are called

0:09:150:09:17

exceptional developments

within the green belt.

0:09:170:09:19

And I think we should be open

to more of those in the future,

0:09:190:09:22

but making absolutely clear that

London's famous parks and valuable

0:09:220:09:25

open spaces will be

defended at all costs.

0:09:250:09:26

Every available means should be used

to build new homes, says the

0:09:260:09:29

mayor.

0:09:290:09:30

Clashes over location, type,

and scale seem certain to follow.

0:09:300:09:37

So can the mayor

achieve what he wants?

0:09:370:09:39

Tim Donovan spoke to him

earlier and asked him how

0:09:390:09:42

he could build more densely

whilst ensuring quality.

0:09:420:09:49

What I'm saying to developers,

what I'm saying to councils,

0:09:490:09:52

what I'm saying to housing

associations is, it is possible

0:09:520:09:54

with good design to meet

the needs of Londoners,

0:09:540:09:56

that means high density,

high quality homes.

0:09:560:09:59

How much is this focused on outer

London and the suburbs?

0:09:590:10:04

Do you think they have been building

enough in the last few years?

0:10:040:10:07

I think all across London

we need to see more homes,

0:10:070:10:09

good quality homes.

0:10:090:10:14

The reality is, many councils have

had one arm tied behind their back

0:10:140:10:17

because the Government has failed

to give them the powers

0:10:170:10:19

to borrow to build.

0:10:190:10:20

Many housing associations have

wanted to build more homes.

0:10:200:10:22

Problems around land allocation,

problems around investment

0:10:220:10:24

from the Government,

developers want certainty.

0:10:240:10:27

What about outer

London in particular?

0:10:270:10:34

Is that where there's been

the failure until now?

0:10:340:10:36

All councils will have targets.

0:10:360:10:37

All councils will know

what the expectations are on them.

0:10:370:10:39

Outer London as well as in London.

0:10:390:10:43

Outer London, the problem

is around infrastructure.

0:10:430:10:47

One of the reasons we are here

in Barking Riverside is to see

0:10:470:10:54

the difference infrastructure can

make, and if outer London boroughs

0:10:540:10:56

have the assistance they need,

I'm sure they can build good

0:10:560:10:59

quality, high density homes.

0:10:590:11:00

You know councils, including Labour

councils like Redbridge,

0:11:000:11:02

want to designate,

want to build on a lot

0:11:020:11:04

of green belt.

0:11:040:11:05

Do you support that?

0:11:050:11:07

No, I don't support

the designating of greenbelt land.

0:11:070:11:09

There's got to be

an exceptional reason.

0:11:090:11:11

If it was the case,

hypothetically speaking,

0:11:110:11:12

that it wasn't possible to meet

the needs of London,

0:11:120:11:15

then that would be an argument

that is worth exploring,

0:11:150:11:17

but that argument isn't there.

0:11:170:11:18

They say they can't meet

their local housing needs.

0:11:180:11:21

In other words, you will be standing

in the way of progress.

0:11:210:11:23

They have not seen the draft plan.

0:11:230:11:25

The draft plan sets out

the blueprint and the route map

0:11:250:11:28

for how we meet the needs

of Londoners without

0:11:280:11:30

building on green belt.

0:11:300:11:31

The Mayor also discussed fire safety

as part of his plan,

0:11:310:11:34

something that has sharply been

brought under the spotlight

0:11:340:11:36

after the Grenfell Tower fire.

0:11:360:11:37

Since then, BBC London has

highlighted several safety

0:11:370:11:39

issues with tower blocks

around the capital.

0:11:390:11:41

Well, now structural problems have

been found in another estate,

0:11:410:11:43

this time in Fulham.

0:11:430:11:44

Gareth Furby has this

exclusive report.

0:11:440:11:45

Two 1960s tower blocks

in Fulham, but are they safe?

0:11:450:11:48

Perhaps not.

0:11:480:11:49

In an empty flat, structural

engineers have now cut away concrete

0:11:490:11:51

to expose cracking where

the floors join the walls.

0:11:510:11:54

A fire safety expert says this

is an alarming discovery,

0:11:540:12:04

because such cracking,

if seen throughout the blocks,

0:12:060:12:08

may mean a fire could not be

contained inside a flat.

0:12:080:12:13

Instead, he says, it could rapidly

spread throughout the building.

0:12:130:12:23

What could happen here is,

because of the lack of

0:12:250:12:28

fire-stopping, the smoke and fire

can spread from flat to flat

0:12:280:12:30

vertically.

0:12:300:12:31

Following this structural

investigation and the discovery

0:12:310:12:33

of the cracking, fire safety wardens

have now started patrolling

0:12:330:12:35

the tower blocks 24 hours a day.

0:12:350:12:37

Their brief is to get

residents out as quickly

0:12:370:12:39

as possible if a fire starts.

0:12:390:12:44

And it is safe.

0:12:440:12:45

The guys are patrolling,

and no issues to report so far.

0:12:450:12:48

But some residents are concerned.

0:12:480:12:51

All of us have been told to stay

put when that's been

0:12:510:12:54

the incorrect information.

0:12:540:12:55

Hammersmith and Fulham Council

insists that with wardens in place,

0:12:550:12:57

the residents are safe.

0:12:570:12:59

But last night, they faced

some tough questions.

0:12:590:13:03

How many of the doors did

you check had self-closures?

0:13:030:13:08

And for this woman, it was repeating

a scene that the BBC

0:13:080:13:11

filmed back in 1984.

0:13:110:13:16

How does this message get back that

some of us want out?

0:13:160:13:20

Even then, she was worried

about the safety of these blocks.

0:13:200:13:22

Are you telling me these flats

are completely safe?

0:13:220:13:26

In July, after the Grenfell

disaster, she wrote

0:13:260:13:28

to the London Fire Brigade demanding

an urgent investigation

0:13:280:13:30

into the safety of the blocks.

0:13:300:13:35

Now fire wardens are

patrolling outside her flat.

0:13:350:13:39

It always takes a disaster before

anything's done anywhere,

0:13:390:13:44

doesn't it, whatever it may be,

whether it be a fire or whatever.

0:13:440:13:48

Do you think you'll be safe now?

0:13:480:13:50

Hopefully.

0:13:500:13:52

I believe we've done everything

we can to keep residents safe.

0:13:520:13:56

The worst thing we could do is cause

panic amongst our own residents

0:13:560:13:59

and put them out of a home if we can

make them safe with fire wardens

0:13:590:14:03

and extra precautions,

which is what we've been doing.

0:14:030:14:06

The council says next week,

a new alarm system will be fitted

0:14:060:14:10

in the blocks and the Fire Brigade

is going to check every

0:14:100:14:12

flat for fire safety.

0:14:120:14:22

The police watchdog is investigating

a complaint about the way a police

0:14:230:14:26

helicopter was used to respond

to the Grenfell fire.

0:14:260:14:28

It was made by a man who lost six

family members in the blaze.

0:14:280:14:31

Our Home Affairs Correspondent Nick

Beake joins me with more details.

0:14:310:14:36

Nearly six months on, how has this

come about?

Many people will

0:14:360:14:40

remember the constant noise of the

police helicopter hovering above

0:14:400:14:44

Grenfell Tower in the hours after

the fire took hold. Of course, it

0:14:440:14:48

provided a different perspective for

the emergency services looking down

0:14:480:14:51

at the horrendous scene unfolding.

We can now look at a still

0:14:510:14:57

photograph of the helicopter that

morning in June, when 81 people lost

0:14:570:15:01

their lives. But now we hear that

the police watchdog is investigating

0:15:010:15:05

the helicopter that morning. That is

because of the concerns of one

0:15:050:15:12

survivor, a man called Nabil

Choucair. He lost six embers of his

0:15:120:15:16

family in the fire. They were all on

the 22nd floor, and he has now heard

0:15:160:15:22

harrowing 999 calls that they made

to the authorities, begging for

0:15:220:15:25

help. He believes that the

helicopter's presence gave them the

0:15:250:15:28

impression that they might be

winched to safety. This was what he

0:15:280:15:32

told me earlier.

0:15:320:15:37

They thought it was an emergency

helicopter and they thought they

0:15:370:15:41

were going to be rescued. Unlike

many other families in the building

0:15:410:15:44

on the upper floors, they were given

the false impression that they were

0:15:440:15:48

going to be rescued and they never

did.

They made a request on the 999

0:15:480:15:56

calls?

More than several times, yes.

They requested help from the

0:15:560:16:00

helicopter specifically.

0:16:000:16:04

And what has the police watchdog

said?

The deputy chair has said that

0:16:040:16:08

although there is no indication that

any police officer had committed

0:16:080:16:12

misconduct or a criminal offence,

she thought it was appropriate that

0:16:120:16:14

this complaint is now investigated.

This is interesting, because there

0:16:140:16:23

is already a criminal investigation

and the role of the helicopter will

0:16:230:16:29

now be incorporated into this. So

the Met will read this, but the

0:16:290:16:33

police watchdog will be controlling

this from afar and directing what

0:16:330:16:37

happens here. We also know that they

will be looking to another concern

0:16:370:16:40

of Nabil Choucair that the

helicopters specifically created a

0:16:400:16:47

downdraught which may have fanned

the flames and made the situation

0:16:470:16:50

worse. Talking to him this afternoon

and his legal team, it is clear that

0:16:500:16:54

they don't want this to distract

from other issues they are concerned

0:16:540:16:57

about like the cladding and the

refurbishment of Grenfell Tower, but

0:16:570:17:01

they want the police to look at this

so that it can be fed into the

0:17:010:17:04

public inquiry which is looking at

the wider picture.

0:17:040:17:15

Still to come before 7:

0:17:150:17:20

At first, it was challenging, but

now I can do it. I'm proud of

0:17:200:17:24

myself.

0:17:240:17:24

How yoga is changing the lives

0:17:240:17:26

of children with disabilities.

0:17:260:17:29

And eldest is back in the building.

Albee taken on a tour of the new

0:17:290:17:35

exhibition at the O2 with a rather

special guide.

0:17:350:17:41

Two stewards in hospital

and six arrests.

0:17:410:17:43

"The worst disorder in more

than a decade" is how Sussex police

0:17:430:17:47

have described last night's trouble

at Crystal Palace's

0:17:470:17:48

away game in Brighton.

0:17:490:17:52

However police, and Brighton

football club, have been criticised

0:17:520:17:54

by many of the law-abiding Palace

fans who were refused

0:17:540:17:57

entry to the stadium.

0:17:570:17:59

We can join our sports reporter

Chris Slegg, who's got

0:17:590:18:01

the latest on this.

0:18:010:18:03

Chris. Well, Crystal Palace have

condemned what they called the

0:18:030:18:12

anti-social and criminal behaviour

by a small group of fans who tried

0:18:120:18:16

to force their way into Brighton

Stadium without tickets. It was

0:18:160:18:21

their first-ever Premier League

meeting and it may have ended 0-0

0:18:210:18:24

but it was eagerly awaited by so

many fans. 150 slashed 200 fans did

0:18:240:18:30

not get to see any of it. Many of

them did have tickets and were not

0:18:300:18:33

causing any problems but after that

small group did try to get in and

0:18:330:18:46

injured two stewards, they were

locked outside. Brighton decided

0:19:060:19:08

they all had to be locked outside.

The police kept them there for 45

0:19:080:19:11

minutes and then took them back to

the station were some claim they

0:19:110:19:13

were forced onto any train,

regardless of the destination. The

0:19:130:19:15

Sussex Chief investigator Simon

Nelson has said today, "I have been

0:19:150:19:17

involved in policing at all levels

and have been a match commander at

0:19:170:19:20

Albion for 12 years, but I have

never co me across such concerted

0:19:200:19:23

efforts to cause disorder and engage

in violent ground with pyrotechnics

0:19:230:19:25

we are aware a significant number of

people tried to enter the ground

0:19:250:19:27

with pyrotechnics, incidents

throughout the evening. One was

0:19:270:19:29

witnessed by the three youngsters in

knuckle-dusters drew fire exit doors

0:19:290:19:31

in the South stand, and there were

also other isolated incident

0:19:310:19:33

throughout the evening.

One was

witnessed by the three youngsters in

0:19:330:19:36

broke in and then the police came

and we heard glass run across the

0:19:360:19:42

road over traffic and stuff and then

just kicked off and started having

0:19:420:19:44

fights.

It was between a few people

and then other people broke in and

0:19:440:19:47

then the police came and we heard

glass and so among all of this,

0:19:470:19:55

there were fans with genuine tickets

concerned about how it was all yes,

0:19:550:19:59

and Crystal Palace say they will

calm after the incident. Some fans

0:19:590:20:04

have questions of why they were not

allowed in when they can prove they

0:20:040:20:07

were not doing anything wrong. Why

were they made to wait for 45

0:20:070:20:10

minutes if they weren't we can see

that there was relative, after the

0:20:100:20:14

incident. Some fans have questions

of why they were not allowed in when

0:20:140:20:17

they can prove they were not doing

anything wrong. Why were they made

0:20:170:20:19

to wait for 45 minutes if they

weren't allowed one Palestine is

0:20:190:20:22

also a London assembly and this is

what he had to say to me earlier

0:20:220:20:25

this afternoon chair of the police

and crime committee, and this is

0:20:250:20:27

what he had to say to me earlier

this afternoon.

Some young lads

0:20:270:20:30

tried to get in. They should be

nicked and we must feel for the

0:20:300:20:33

people who were injured, but then a

decision was made by Brighton

0:20:330:20:35

football club to shut all the rest

of the Palace stands out, 95% of

0:20:350:20:38

them I am sure had tickets. It was

young lads tried to get in.

They

0:20:380:20:43

for the people who were injured, but

0:20:430:20:45

then a decision was made by Brighton

0:20:450:20:48

0:20:480:20:51

this graceful. I should were found

on some of the that weapons were

0:20:510:20:54

found on some of the additional

security met measures will be put in

0:20:540:20:56

place when Brighton come in April.

OK, many

0:20:560:21:01

Now, you can find yoga

classes all over London -

0:21:010:21:03

and many who rave about how

it's improved their

0:21:030:21:05

health and fitness.

0:21:050:21:06

But for some children,

it's changing their lives.

0:21:060:21:08

A new centre in Islington

is offering yoga therapy classes

0:21:080:21:10

specifically tailored for children

with special needs.

0:21:100:21:12

And the one-on-one sessions

are making quite an impact

0:21:120:21:14

on some youngsters,

as Charlotte Franks reports.

0:21:140:21:18

Nine-year-old Daniel

has found the secret

0:21:180:21:19

to happiness, and it comes

in

0:21:190:21:23

the shape of yoga.

0:21:230:21:30

Well, it tests my flexibility

and it always tries to

0:21:300:21:32

put me to the limit.

0:21:320:21:34

He has special needs

and started practising it two

0:21:340:21:37

and a half years ago to help

with his confidence.

0:21:370:21:40

At school now, I want

to try everything.

0:21:400:21:46

Like, every sport and it's

help me be more active,

0:21:460:21:55

helped me get better at lots

of stuff, like lots of sports.

0:21:550:21:58

The centre in Islington

is the only place in the

0:21:580:22:00

UK to offer yoga therapy,

running one-on-one

0:22:000:22:02

sessions tailored to

the

0:22:020:22:03

needs of the individual.

0:22:030:22:04

It's not only supports

them physically, but

0:22:040:22:06

it also helps them

mentally and emotionally.

0:22:060:22:08

It's a specific practice

developed by an incredible

0:22:080:22:10

woman who herself had

a child with special

0:22:100:22:12

needs, and that's how

the

0:22:120:22:13

practice got found, a mum trying

to help a child to reach their full

0:22:130:22:17

potential.

0:22:170:22:18

So how does Daniel feel

after his session?

0:22:180:22:20

Happier.

0:22:200:22:25

Like, definitely I feel

very happy, I feel

0:22:250:22:27

more energetic.

0:22:270:22:33

At first it was challenging,

and now I can do it.

0:22:330:22:36

Like, I'm proud of myself.

0:22:360:22:38

It's believed youngsters

like Daniel are

0:22:380:22:40

testament to the success of this

type of therapy for those with

0:22:400:22:43

special needs.

0:22:430:22:48

As a result, it's hoped more classes

like it will be adopted

0:22:480:22:51

by centres across the country.

0:22:510:22:52

There is a beautiful

light inside my heart

0:22:520:22:54

that was given to me

when I was born, and

0:22:540:22:56

because of that light

I do

0:22:560:22:58

not fear anyone or anything.

0:22:580:23:03

From his trademark jumpsuits

to the many dry cleaning receipts

0:23:030:23:07

and repair bills, a new exhibition

of Elvis Presley's close

0:23:070:23:09

up and personal items

is about to open in London.

0:23:090:23:14

It's been put together

by his ex-wife Priscilla,

0:23:140:23:16

some 40 years since the singer died.

0:23:160:23:19

And according to the woman

who knew him best back then,

0:23:190:23:24

the king of rock n'roll almost made

it the capital himself,

0:23:240:23:27

as our reporter Caroline

Davies has been finding out.

0:23:270:23:30

at Selhurst Park in April. OK, many

thanks. MUSIC PLAYS: Jail House Rock

0:23:300:23:37

by Elvis Presley.

He left such a

lasting impression, when you watched

0:23:370:23:49

him he left such a lasting

impression, when you watched him the

0:23:490:23:53

King has returned to London.

The O2

never seen a new exhibition on Elvis

0:23:530:24:00

Presley, with 200 items never seen

before in wanted to come here.

He

0:24:000:24:06

always wanted to perform here. He

was literally thinking about

0:24:060:24:09

planning to come here a few months

before he. Even if Elvis never made

0:24:090:24:12

it to the capital. He always wanted

to come here. He always wanted to

0:24:120:24:14

perform here. He was literally

thinking about planning to come here

0:24:140:24:17

a few months before he guitars, to

materials, and of course the

0:24:170:24:19

guitars, poor materials, and of

course the quite wide. This is a

0:24:190:24:22

beautiful black leather belt, quite

wide days, bought it for him to wear

0:24:220:24:28

on his casual he then got it copied

for his suit because he of what I

0:24:280:24:35

bought him so much.

The jumpsuit is

a prototype of that, of what I

0:24:350:24:40

bought there is sheet music from one

famous you never told him what you

0:24:400:24:47

could I wondered how I could get it

across had it in a bag and he asked

0:24:470:24:51

me what it was and then he put it on

and he played it over and over again

0:24:510:24:56

and then he said, I have to do it so

that he would sing it, and I had it

0:24:560:25:03

in a bag and he asked me what it was

and then he put it on and he played

0:25:030:25:07

it over and over again and then he

said, I have to do so I want if you

0:25:070:25:11

the second exhibition in the O2 for

Elvis, so why 40 years after his

0:25:110:25:14

death is he still drawing the this

is the second exhibition in the O2

0:25:140:25:19

for Elvis, so why 40 years after his

death is he still drawing he had

0:25:190:25:22

such an impression on our culture,

that people don't want to let go.

0:25:220:25:26

And this will be in the building, in

spirit at least, until February next

0:25:260:25:35

they don't want to let go. And this

will be in the building, in spirit

0:25:350:25:38

at least, until February next

0:25:380:25:39

Time to see how the weather's

shaping up and Darren Bett

0:25:390:25:42

is the man to tell us.

0:25:420:25:43

is the man to tell us.

0:25:430:25:46

and his songs just don't seem to

have a northerly wind blowing which

0:25:460:25:50

will add to the chilly fuel. There

will be some sunshine around and

0:25:500:25:53

with a bit of luck we may actually

stay dry this time. We had those

0:25:530:25:57

cold winds blowing today, blowing in

the cloud. You can see the speckled

0:25:570:26:01

blue. 12 of those showers heading

down towards the London area earlier

0:26:010:26:05

on today, but I think overnight any

showers that we have towards Essex

0:26:050:26:10

and maybe Hertfordshire will fade

away. Skies were clear. The wind

0:26:100:26:24

will as we head into tomorrow, we

will still have a northerly wind

0:26:240:26:27

blowing which will add to the chilly

fuel. There will be some sunshine

0:26:270:26:30

around and with a bit of luck we may

actually stay dry this time. We had

0:26:300:26:33

those cold winds blowing today,

blowing in the cloud. We can see the

0:26:330:26:35

speckles of blue. 12 of those

showers heading down towards the

0:26:350:26:38

London area earlier on today, but I

think overnight any showers that we

0:26:380:26:40

have towards Essex and maybe

Hertfordshire will fade away. Skies

0:26:400:26:42

were clear. The wind will ease down

a little bit. And it will be colder

0:26:420:26:45

than it was last night. A and it

will be down to minus four Celsius.

0:26:450:26:48

You can see the shower is getting

quite close, but probably staying

0:26:480:26:51

dry, I suspect. There will be some

more cloud during the afternoon, but

0:26:510:26:53

still some spells of it will be a

cold get some showers overnight

0:26:530:26:56

Thursday night into Friday morning,

and there will be a mixture of rain,

0:26:560:26:58

hail, sleet and even possibly we are

more likely to get some showers

0:26:580:27:01

overnight Thursday night into Friday

morning, and there will be a mixture

0:27:010:27:03

of rain, hail, sleet and even

possibly. Those showers turning to

0:27:030:27:06

rain through the day and then easing

away through the afternoon, so more

0:27:060:27:08

sunshine in the afternoon.

Temperatures up at around 65 and

0:27:080:27:11

seven Celsius. The cold wind finally

tending to ease away. We will see

0:27:110:27:15

the cold air finally getting pushed

out out towards the near continent

0:27:150:27:21

and instead milder Atlantic air will

be heading our way. It does because

0:27:210:27:24

of the cloud, the temperatures will

not be so low, but there is the risk

0:27:240:27:27

of some icy patches into the morning

rush hour on Friday. Those showers

0:27:270:27:30

turning to rain through the day and

then easing away through the

0:27:300:27:32

afternoon, so my sunshine in the

afternoon. Temperatures up at around

0:27:320:27:35

6007 Celsius. The cold wind finally

tending to ease away. We will see

0:27:350:27:37

the cold air finally getting pushed

out out towards the near continent

0:27:370:27:40

and instead milder Atlantic air will

be heading our way. It we will see

0:27:400:27:42

temperatures of cloud around as

0:27:420:27:43

That's all from us for now.
