It's now time for the news where you are.

:00:00.:00:00.

Welcome to BBC London News, I'm Louisa Preston.

:00:00.:00:15.

More now on the discovery of the bodies of five former

:00:16.:00:18.

A tomb containing lead coffins which is believed to date back

:00:19.:00:23.

to the 1660s was found by builders renovating the church next

:00:24.:00:27.

to the official London residence of the head of the Anglican Church.

:00:28.:00:30.

Lambeth Palace has been the London residence of Archbishops

:00:31.:00:33.

of Canterbury since the 13th century, but a chance discovery

:00:34.:00:38.

during recent renovation work next door yielded a startling discovery.

:00:39.:00:41.

It's a very interesting day, actually.

:00:42.:00:47.

We were exposing the ground as part of the job and we were lifting

:00:48.:00:50.

the slabs in the ark area and we uncovered an entry

:00:51.:00:53.

We put a camera on the end of a stick and discovered numerous

:00:54.:01:00.

coffins and one of them had a gold crown on top of it.

:01:01.:01:04.

We knew the archbishops had been buried there

:01:05.:01:06.

but all the other bodies - 20,000 - had all been taken

:01:07.:01:09.

away by the Victorians when they rebuilt the church,

:01:10.:01:12.

so it was just this one vault that was left, to our surprise.

:01:13.:01:16.

Among the 30 lead coffins, they believe there are five

:01:17.:01:18.

I came in thinking, this sounds like bad news, problem.

:01:19.:01:24.

And, wow, it's the crown, it's the mitre of an archbishop

:01:25.:01:28.

We know there are five archbishops buried here.

:01:29.:01:33.

The first is Archbishop Bancroft, who chaired the committee that wrote

:01:34.:01:36.

What we don't know, still don't know, is who else is down there.

:01:37.:01:42.

The redeveloped Garden Museum where they were discovered is due

:01:43.:01:44.

You're going to get a glimpse of the steps leading down

:01:45.:01:53.

and we will hopefully put on a little exhibition but it is

:01:54.:01:56.

For now, the coffins will remain where they are.

:01:57.:01:59.

The vault in which they sit is simply too fragile to explore.

:02:00.:02:03.

It's London's first community fridge - a public fridge where people can

:02:04.:02:12.

give spare food and those who need it can take it, free of charge.

:02:13.:02:15.

Caroline Davies went along to Brixton to see how it works.

:02:16.:02:18.

Whether it's cakes or wonky fruit and veg, leaving fruit in this

:02:19.:02:23.

Here in Brixton restaurants, shops and residents are contributing

:02:24.:02:30.

People who then want or need it can take it for free.

:02:31.:02:35.

It's been open for two months, so what did the people

:02:36.:02:38.

What sort of stuff have you taken out of there?

:02:39.:02:43.

Mostly fruit and vegetables, it's quite fresh, otherwise

:02:44.:02:49.

I think it's a brilliant idea because it cuts food waste

:02:50.:02:53.

and hopefully helps the people who really need food

:02:54.:02:56.

But how many people who really need it will be walking

:02:57.:03:00.

They probably won't wander through of their own accord

:03:01.:03:03.

but we do know they come in and we intentionally want

:03:04.:03:12.

the fridge to be open for everybody, we want it to be

:03:13.:03:15.

so that when someone takes food out of the fridge we aren't thinking,

:03:16.:03:19.

that person's had a hard day or they are poor, it's

:03:20.:03:21.

And they are trying to get the word out in any way they can.

:03:22.:03:26.

Just the other day a homeless person was walking around asking for change

:03:27.:03:29.

and I said we have the fridge inside, want to come and check it

:03:30.:03:32.

out, you can take food whenever you like and the first thing he said

:03:33.:03:36.

I said yes of course, just come down and have a look.

:03:37.:03:41.

I think it is about showing people that it's OK, you know,

:03:42.:03:44.

some things are free, some things are done

:03:45.:03:46.

They've had interest from volunteers across London who want to set

:03:47.:03:53.

up their own fridges, so less food in the capital will get

:03:54.:03:56.

Photographs detailing life in the East End in the 1940s

:03:57.:04:06.

and '50s have been published by the Tate.

:04:07.:04:09.

Nigel Henderson took the photos in Bethnal Green.

:04:10.:04:11.

The pictures include a funeral cortege, hop-scotching children

:04:12.:04:13.

and street parties celebrating the Queen's Coronation.

:04:14.:04:16.

Let's get a check on tomorrow's weather with Georgina Burnett.

:04:17.:04:19.

It's a bit of a soggy end to Easter Sunday but we've had

:04:20.:04:24.

a good deal of dry weather and should do tomorrow as well.

:04:25.:04:27.

That rain is going to be making its way off as we head

:04:28.:04:30.

through the night but still some remnants left behind in the morning.

:04:31.:04:33.

Quite a lot of cloud as well and we could see showers

:04:34.:04:36.

But some bright and sunny spells with highs of 12 Celsius.

:04:37.:04:39.

A northerly wind, so quite chilly when you're out of the sunshine.

:04:40.:04:42.

But as we head through the week, high pressure is in control,

:04:43.:04:45.

so we're seeing a lot of settled weather but also some frosty nights.

:04:46.:04:50.

That's it - we'll be back tomorrow morning during Breakfast.

:04:51.:04:52.

If today's conditions were great and stamp, tomorrow's weather offers

:04:53.:05:17.

more promise, clear skies and some flower -- cloud showers compared to

:05:18.:05:21.

today. The cloud reducing rain through the south-east overnight

:05:22.:05:24.

although some rain will be welcome in a garden and mostly dry later

:05:25.:05:29.

along with the clearest conditions for Scotland and Northern Ireland

:05:30.:05:34.

and the coldest weather meaning a touch of frost for the morning of

:05:35.:05:38.

the brightest weather to start eastern Monday. Showers developing

:05:39.:05:41.

through the day, particularly for northern Scotland, they will be

:05:42.:05:45.

wintry over the hills with rain at lower levels pushing through eastern

:05:46.:05:50.

in Scotland to northern England. Northern Ireland stays dry and after

:05:51.:05:53.

a cloudy start for Wales and southern England, showers to come

:05:54.:05:57.

through the day with more sunshine and

:05:58.:05:58.
