The grandparents of

a four-year-old girl

who was found just over a week ago

after going missing for 8

months, say they are over

the moon to have her home.

Elliana Shand was taken

by her mother and maternal

grandmother to Jamaica,

America and Europe before she was

eventually tracked down in Spain.

Caroline Davies has been

speaking to the family.

Elliana

Shand was taken from the UK in May

last year. Her grandparents have

been searching for her ever since.

We were in the court trying to get

more information about where they

were, what they were doing, and they

literally got a phone call. At first

we thought, because you think, is it

good news or bad news? The lady come

up and said, I hope you've got a

passport. Because they found her.

Eight months ago a judge was

considering whether Elliana should

stay with her mother or be put in

Sean and Eileen's care. Her mother

Jessica Richards has schizophrenia.

Before the decision was made,

Elliana was taken to Jamaica by her

maternal grandmother, she travelled

to America, Europe, eventually

ending up in Spain with her mother.

She was tracked down last week.

We

never thought for one minute we

would have been involved in

something like this. Missing child,

having to try and find her. It's

strange when she's back, isn't it?

Because she's back and it's back to

normal now. Our main focus now is

that she's not stressed in any way.

A judge was so concerned for her

safety he allowed her picture to be

released to help find her. UK and

international police were on the

case but Sean didn't want to leave

it to them.

Are used social media,

my Twitter account, and Facebook. We

used your good selves to find her.

But it was social media which

ultimately found her.

In December,

through social media, Sean found out

that Elliana's mother was in Spain.

Now Elliana is home he hopes to help

others.

I'm like a dog with a bone.

My phone never stops beeping every

time it is a missing child.

The

family hopes they can be reunited

doesn't immediately sounds

like a box office hit.

The film was inspired by this man,

Arunachalam Muruganantham,

and the 20 year journey to make

a cheap sanitary pad

for his wife after he found out

she was using a dirty rag

as a replacement.

More than 5000 of his machines

are now in operation across India,

giving 40 million women access

to cheap pads for the first time.

Among the lives he changed are

a group of campaigners from London.

Period poverty charity,

Binti, who's been working

with him for three years.

And today they've got

a very special visitor.

Padman's producer, Twinkle Khanna.

It's a compelling story,

it was so compelling that

I abandoned my second book,

I was halfway through that,

and I started writing about him.

And then I chased him

for eight months.

I called him every single day till

finally he agreed to meet me.

The team behind the movie say

they hope it will put an end

to the stigma and shame that some

women are made to feel every month.
