Tonight in a special Look East, we're live overlooking the Olympic | :00:06. | :00:11.
Park in Stratford. It's one year to go to London 2012, but how is our | :00:11. | :00:21.
:00:21. | :00:27. | ||
region shaping up ahead of the Games? | :00:27. | :00:30.
As eight new routes to Europe are announced for Southend Airport, we | :00:30. | :00:32.
meet the people cashing in on the big event. We'll be talking to | :00:32. | :00:35.
Jonathan Edwards - once the triple jump king - now a key player in | :00:35. | :00:38.
promoting London 2012. And we catch up with William Sharman, one of the | :00:38. | :00:40.
region's top athletes, as he steps up his training. And in other news: | :00:40. | :00:43.
A man misses death by inches when his mobility scooter is hit by a | :00:43. | :00:53.
:00:53. | :00:56. | ||
train. With a year to go, what was once | :00:56. | :01:01.
Europe's biggest building site is well on the way to completion. | :01:01. | :01:05.
We're told the Olympic Park is on target and within budget. And | :01:05. | :01:08.
tomorrow, we get our first glimpse inside the Aquatic Centre. For our | :01:08. | :01:10.
region, the Olympics is bringing a once-in-a-lifetime influx of | :01:10. | :01:16.
visitors and business. 800 million worth of contracts have already | :01:16. | :01:20.
been awarded to companies in the East. This time next year, tens of | :01:20. | :01:22.
thousands of visitors will be flying into Stansted, Luton and now | :01:22. | :01:28.
Southend. So how is our region going to capitalise on all this and | :01:28. | :01:31.
get its share of Olympic gold? Our Chief Reporter, Kim Riley, has been | :01:31. | :01:35.
finding out. A new routes parade at London | :01:35. | :01:39.
Southend Airport, with a distinctive Olympics flavour. Gold | :01:39. | :01:43.
medalist, Sally Gunnell, leading a team of budding local athletes. | :01:43. | :01:45.
Today, Easyjet put tickets for eight new routes - incuding | :01:45. | :01:50.
Barcelona where Sally won gold - up for sale. The airport is undergoing | :01:50. | :01:59.
a multi-million pound revamp. London 2012 will be a driving force. | :01:59. | :02:05.
Reader believe it will be a platform that will help us in the | :02:05. | :02:11.
future. Our aim is to get to 2 million passengers and one day. | :02:11. | :02:14.
There is a local campaign to stop the expansion of the airport, but | :02:14. | :02:19.
Easyjet is confident its routes will take off as planned next April. | :02:19. | :02:21.
And there is Olympic gold for Stansted too. It'll be the gateway | :02:22. | :02:29.
to the games for tens of thousands. We have a lot of spare capacity so | :02:29. | :02:35.
we can definitely take the larger aircraft, and General Aviation as | :02:35. | :02:40.
well. From making seats for the Olympic stadium, to providing no | :02:40. | :02:43.
end of 2012 souvenirs, the region's companies have snapped up Olympics | :02:43. | :02:46.
contracts. Though a survey today by Lloyds Banking Group found almost | :02:46. | :02:48.
two thirds of the region's businesses believe they have | :02:48. | :02:53.
nothing to gain. The house you live in could be a nice little earner | :02:53. | :02:56.
during the Olympics. Michelle Tyler, here with 18-month-old daughter, | :02:56. | :03:02.
Lucia, came to Britain as a backpacker 15 years ago and stayed. | :03:02. | :03:03.
The family's four bedroomed Hertfordshire semi, with good links | :03:03. | :03:06.
to the Olympic park and Lee Valley, has been registered with website | :03:06. | :03:12.
accomodation for the Games. She's asking 3,000 for a week's rental | :03:12. | :03:22.
:03:22. | :03:24. | ||
and plans a family holiday back to Staying in someone's home is more | :03:24. | :03:29.
comfortable. You do not need to bring anything extra. Rex Batey set | :03:29. | :03:35.
up the website last October. 500 homeowers have registered so far. | :03:35. | :03:43.
We advise people to be sensible with their pricing. What you might | :03:43. | :03:48.
expect to rent your property for on a year in the for monthly basis, | :03:48. | :03:58.
:03:58. | :04:01. | ||
you are likely to get that for a week during the Olympics. | :04:01. | :04:05.
I am a Roman soldier from Colchester. Back at Stansted, he's | :04:05. | :04:08.
promoting Britain's oldest town. The hope is that visitors to the | :04:08. | :04:10.
Games next year will realise there's plenty to enjoy in our | :04:10. | :04:13.
region, and vow to return. They're calling it the Olympics tourism | :04:13. | :04:23.
:04:23. | :04:25. | ||
legacy. For the region's huge tourism industry, pure gold. | :04:25. | :04:35.
:04:35. | :04:36. | ||
You can see the main stadium behind me, not quite finished yet. 80,000 | :04:36. | :04:41.
seats in that stadium. I wonder how many of you have got tickets to | :04:41. | :04:45.
actually sit in those seats. We will talk about that in a minute. | :04:45. | :04:48.
Not everyone is feeling positive about London 2012. In fact, in a | :04:48. | :04:51.
poll out this week, more than one in three people say they're not | :04:51. | :04:53.
excited about the Games. One of the biggest criticisms is tickets and | :04:53. | :04:56.
the way they've been allocated. Here's a quick word from some of | :04:56. | :05:03.
you. I am quite excited but disappointed I was not able to get | :05:04. | :05:10.
a ticket. I just decided I was not going to because I was not sure | :05:10. | :05:16.
about the method of distribution. We missed out on the timing of the | :05:16. | :05:22.
tickets but now I wish we had. Because my friends are getting | :05:22. | :05:30.
tickets. I do have some tickets, thankfully. I will be wearing my | :05:30. | :05:38.
Taoiseach proudly. I just prefer to watch it on the television. And I | :05:38. | :05:45.
did not like the idea of applying and getting some strange sport when | :05:45. | :05:51.
I wanted to watch something else. would have liked more, everyone is | :05:51. | :05:55.
disappointed. Joining us now is Jonathan Edwards, former Olympic | :05:55. | :05:57.
and World triple jump champion, now working for London 2012 promoting | :05:57. | :06:05.
the games. Let's just start off with the ticket situation, how | :06:05. | :06:12.
damaging has it been? The simple truth was there was many more | :06:12. | :06:17.
people wanted tickets than we had tickets to sell. Looking at the way | :06:17. | :06:23.
they have been issued, there's no group of people who have cornered | :06:23. | :06:27.
the ticketing market. It is just that there was such a great | :06:27. | :06:31.
interest that there was only so much to go around. But in the | :06:31. | :06:36.
second phase of ticket sales, those who did not get a ticket originally | :06:36. | :06:45.
will be get him the pick of what is left. 1.3 million tickets across | :06:45. | :06:51.
all the events. And we will go to those people who did not get | :06:51. | :06:57.
tickets first of all. And get as many of those into the hands of | :06:57. | :07:02.
people who first applied and did not get anything. People who do not | :07:02. | :07:06.
get anything, it will they still be able to get into the Olympic Park | :07:06. | :07:12.
to sample the atmosphere? We were looking at axis to the Olympic Park. | :07:12. | :07:17.
I think on some days there are free events and people can come along | :07:17. | :07:23.
and see the marathon and the Road Cycling. And then in September we | :07:23. | :07:30.
have Paralympics tickets to go on sale. Again there will be millions | :07:30. | :07:35.
of tickets available to watch the Paralympics. What about the issue | :07:35. | :07:39.
of competitors's families. There has been some upset that there are | :07:39. | :07:43.
only getting two tickets, especially on home turf. Again | :07:43. | :07:52.
there has been some confusion here. We will allocate two tickets per | :07:52. | :07:59.
athlete for every session that they compete in. They are also tickets | :07:59. | :08:04.
available through the National Olympic teams. So there is actually | :08:04. | :08:08.
more allocation for friends and family then there has ever been. | :08:08. | :08:12.
the press today there is talk about the transport issues. People | :08:12. | :08:16.
commuting from our region into London already know that it can get | :08:16. | :08:21.
congested. People are now being told perhaps not to go to work | :08:21. | :08:24.
during the Olympics, is that an admission that there will be some | :08:24. | :08:30.
serious transport problems? It is a major city and in where you go in | :08:30. | :08:34.
the world with the Olympic Games, it is going to be a challenge. But | :08:34. | :08:38.
we have an incredibly good transport infrastructure within | :08:38. | :08:42.
London. Hundreds of millions of pounds have been invested because | :08:42. | :08:47.
of London 2012. They are 12 train lines serving the Olympic Park | :08:47. | :08:51.
whereas in Sydney there was just one. So I think we are well served. | :08:51. | :08:57.
And also we are trying to educate people for the time of the game's | :08:57. | :09:04.
saying, do not make non-essential journeys, do your bit. Allow London | :09:04. | :09:08.
to move freely. This is a massive team effort and we ask everyone to | :09:08. | :09:12.
play their part in making it a success. Still to come on tonight's | :09:12. | :09:15.
programme: We're talking to Mark Foster, star of the pool and a | :09:15. | :09:18.
veteran of five Olympic games. Plus we catch up with one of our "Ones | :09:19. | :09:27.
to Watch". My name is William Sharman. We are | :09:27. | :09:31.
a year away from the Olympics but there's much for athletes like me | :09:31. | :09:40.
to be doing. Find out more after it news from your region. | :09:40. | :09:42.
A disability charity wants safety regulations for mobility scooters | :09:42. | :09:45.
to be tightened up after a man came within inches of being hit by a | :09:45. | :09:49.
train travelling at 100 miles an hour. The accident happened on a | :09:49. | :09:59.
level crossing at Kelvedon in Essex. The mobility scooter mangled but | :09:59. | :10:03.
emergency services say it is incredible there's anything left at | :10:03. | :10:07.
all. This is how fast trains go through the crossing where it was | :10:07. | :10:13.
hit. Police still cannot believe that the man riding the scooter | :10:13. | :10:19.
survived. He is lucky to be alive, before I arrived, I expected the | :10:19. | :10:25.
worst. He was lying just there and the Skoda was over here with the | :10:25. | :10:31.
front taken off it. The man was conches and breeding and we found | :10:31. | :10:35.
out that the front of the Skoda had been hit by the train. The near- | :10:35. | :10:40.
miss has triggered fresh calls for stricter mobility scooter safety. | :10:40. | :10:46.
Disability Essex run courses but even here, but scoters can prove | :10:46. | :10:52.
difficult to handle. We believe there should be proper training for | :10:52. | :10:56.
mobility scooter users so they can demonstrate their proficiency and | :10:56. | :11:02.
in order to achieve that, we need and that work of competent, trained | :11:02. | :11:07.
instructors. The incident here was the second involving a mobility | :11:07. | :11:10.
scooter in the last two weeks. Another was involved in a road | :11:10. | :11:16.
collision. British Transport Police said that the man who was so lucky | :11:16. | :11:20.
to escape from his life in this crossing may now be prosecuted for | :11:20. | :11:24.
trespassing on the railways. A man has appeared in court accused | :11:24. | :11:27.
of murdering a woman in Southend. Jeanette Goodwin was found with | :11:27. | :11:29.
stab wounds at a house in Quebec Avenue. She died later in hospital. | :11:29. | :11:32.
43-year-old Martin Bunch has been charged with murder. An interim | :11:32. | :11:35.
Chief Executive has been appointed at Suffolk County Council. Lucy | :11:35. | :11:38.
Robinson will do the job for six months, on a salary of 150,000 a | :11:38. | :11:42.
year. Her appointment follows the departure of Andrea Hill, who was | :11:42. | :11:49.
widely criticised for her salary of 218,000. | :11:50. | :11:52.
A new scheme encouraging victims of hate crime to talk about their | :11:52. | :11:56.
experience is being launched in Suffolk today. The group of | :11:56. | :11:58.
volunteers, many of them victims themselves, will listen and advise | :11:58. | :12:03.
those who come forward. Community groups say many hate | :12:03. | :12:07.
crimes go unreported out of fear or ignorance of where to report them. | :12:07. | :12:11.
Hate crime can take many forms. It can be because of someone's faith, | :12:11. | :12:19.
sexuality, gender or as in Kumar's case, race. I have had bad | :12:19. | :12:25.
experiences were people have shouted at me saying, go home. Also | :12:25. | :12:29.
people throwing things at me. even received death threats, all of | :12:29. | :12:34.
which have had a terrible impact on both him and his family. It makes | :12:34. | :12:40.
me feel really sad and makes me think, I am a British citizen but | :12:40. | :12:44.
society does not accept me. Kumar has now begun to get his life back | :12:44. | :12:47.
on track, helped in part by a new scheme being launched in Ipswich | :12:47. | :12:50.
today. The buddy training scheme is a pilot. It pairs victims of hate | :12:50. | :12:59.
crime with members of the community trained to listen and advise. | :12:59. | :13:03.
a shoulder to cry on but it is also ongoing support and we think it | :13:03. | :13:08.
will grope long-term and also make sure that the criminal justice | :13:09. | :13:12.
agencies have particular responsibilities around hate crime | :13:12. | :13:19.
and will make sure that victims get there just as they deserve. -- the | :13:19. | :13:23.
justice they deserve. Official police figures have shown a fall in | :13:23. | :13:25.
reported hate crime. But some community groups here believe many | :13:25. | :13:27.
victims chose to ignore or suppress what's happened to them. It's hoped | :13:27. | :13:30.
the buddy scheme will help them come forward. | :13:30. | :13:33.
The Armed Forces minister paid a visit to RAF Honington in Suffolk | :13:33. | :13:41.
today. Nick Harvey met troops who'd recently served in Afghanistan. The | :13:41. | :13:45.
Minister for armed forces getting a close look at the fire support for | :13:45. | :13:53.
a cop. -- fire support recall. The job for the Royal Air Force is to | :13:53. | :13:57.
provide what is called for his protection. For five years they | :13:57. | :14:07.
made sure that Kandahar airfield in Afghanistan was secured. Air bases | :14:07. | :14:12.
are big, Studdick targets. A lot of our effort is involved in | :14:12. | :14:17.
mitigating that particular threat. The armed forces minister was full | :14:17. | :14:23.
of praise for 15 Squadron. It is vital to our maintaining air power | :14:23. | :14:27.
over Afghanistan that the movements can operate as safely as we can | :14:27. | :14:33.
make them. This has been a rather unsung role on the part of what | :14:33. | :14:36.
really art heroes of the entire effort. The hardware might be | :14:36. | :14:42.
impressive but the most important thing in the armoury - as support | :14:43. | :14:47.
of comrades. It is like brothers, but there's nothing else like it. | :14:47. | :14:53.
You are altogether. Looking forward to going back prison at definitely, | :14:53. | :14:59.
can't wait. The Essex cricket festival starts | :14:59. | :15:01.
tomorrow with a county championship match against Leicestershire. | :15:01. | :15:03.
During the festival, Essex will play in Colchester and this week, | :15:03. | :15:06.
at Garon Park in Southend. The ground is next door to the new | :15:06. | :15:08.
swimming and diving centre which will be a training venue for the | :15:08. | :15:17.
Olympic Games. We're coming into the school holiday period. For a | :15:17. | :15:21.
family day out, it is a good day. It is reasonably cheap for the | :15:21. | :15:26.
whole family to come along and watch the cricket. | :15:26. | :15:29.
In football, Ipswich Town have made two signings from the Premiership. | :15:29. | :15:32.
Goalkeeper David Stockdale is on loan from Fulham. And midfielder | :15:32. | :15:35.
Jay Emmanuel Thomas has signed for three years from Arsenal. They | :15:35. | :15:39.
could both play tonight in a pre- season friendly at Colchester. | :15:39. | :15:41.
Also at Ipswich, their award winning groundsman is leaving to | :15:41. | :15:46.
become head groundsman at the National Football Centre in Burton. | :15:46. | :15:49.
Alan Ferguson has been at Portman Road for 12 years and says he's sad | :15:49. | :15:59.
:15:59. | :16:01. | ||
to be leaving. He admits the new role will be an enormous challenge. | :16:01. | :16:04.
There will be more news from Look East at 10:30, but for now, it's | :16:04. | :16:11.
back to Susie at the Olympic Park in Stratford. | :16:11. | :16:15.
Welcome back to the Olympic Park. Tomorrow officially marks one year | :16:15. | :16:19.
to go to the opening ceremony of London 2012. But for athletes and | :16:19. | :16:24.
organisers, the countdown has been going on for six years. In a moment, | :16:24. | :16:26.
we'll be talking to Mark Foster, Cambridgeshire's former world | :16:26. | :16:29.
champion swimmer, who's been to five Olympic games. First, our | :16:29. | :16:31.
Olympics reporter, Shaun Peel, on how our region is rising to the | :16:32. | :16:35.
challenge. The region's footprint is all over | :16:35. | :16:39.
the Olympic Park. The gardens were designed by a woman from Colchester, | :16:39. | :16:41.
the water plants were grown in Norfolk and the seats in the | :16:41. | :16:49.
stadiums were made in Luton. 12 countries have already decided | :16:49. | :16:51.
to base themselves at our training camps, including the Canadian and | :16:51. | :16:54.
Australian gymnasts, who'll be based in Lowestoft. Every county so | :16:55. | :17:00.
far, bar Norfolk, will be hosting foreign teams. | :17:00. | :17:05.
We've got two Olympic venues in our region. Both are ready and this | :17:05. | :17:07.
weekend the mountain biking course at Hadleigh in Essex and the White | :17:07. | :17:09.
water course in Hertfordshire will be staging international Olympic | :17:09. | :17:16.
test events. The region has also done well out of the torch relay. | :17:16. | :17:18.
It'll pass through for seven consecutive days, with overnight | :17:18. | :17:19.
stops and big celebrations in Petebororough, Norwich, Ipswich, | :17:19. | :17:24.
Chelmsford, Cambridge and Luton. The full route should be known in | :17:24. | :17:33.
November. We're also playing a big part in | :17:33. | :17:35.
the Olympic volunteer programme. 35,000 people from the East have | :17:35. | :17:38.
applied to be involved and they'll find out if they've made it in | :17:38. | :17:42.
October. Our schools are also getting on | :17:42. | :17:46.
board in a big way. Nearly 3,000 have registered to take part in the | :17:46. | :17:49.
offical London 2012 education programme. The largest number in | :17:49. | :17:54.
the UK outside of London. We're also playing our part in the | :17:54. | :17:58.
cultural side of the olympics. More than 200 events were held in the | :17:58. | :18:03.
region last weekend to celebrate one year to go. And events like the | :18:03. | :18:05.
Luton carnival and the fireworks spectacular in Chelmsford have been | :18:05. | :18:13.
included in the London 2012 festival. | :18:13. | :18:16.
One man who's lived and breathed the Olympics for many years is Mark | :18:16. | :18:21.
Foster. You're amongst the most successful British swimmers of all | :18:21. | :18:31.
:18:31. | :18:35. | ||
time. I am actually swimming in the pool tomorrow evening, marking one | :18:35. | :18:45.
:18:45. | :18:46. | ||
year to go. That that is an end to my comeback! I you disappointed not | :18:46. | :18:51.
to take part on home turf? I think any athlete would love to race in | :18:51. | :18:59.
London. Walking into that stadium. I have not yet seen the swimming | :18:59. | :19:05.
pool but I have seen pictures and it looks amazing. The ones that | :19:05. | :19:10.
meant the most to me in my career were the ones on home turf. What | :19:10. | :19:14.
would you be looking for from the a aquatics centre if you wear a | :19:14. | :19:19.
competitor? If you walk into a competitive environment you're | :19:19. | :19:24.
looking for something that excites you. It gives you the kind of well | :19:24. | :19:31.
factor. Walking into that environment, it is just exciting. | :19:31. | :19:37.
World championships, a Olympic Games, it is 15,000 people and an | :19:37. | :19:43.
opportunity to race in front of the big crowd. Being once every four | :19:43. | :19:47.
years just makes it mean that much more. In Beijing you let out the | :19:47. | :19:51.
British team. There has been some controversy over whether the | :19:51. | :19:54.
athletes this year will be allowed to take part in the opening | :19:54. | :19:59.
ceremony. What you think will happen? I think it is down to the | :19:59. | :20:09.
athletes themselves. It is not an environment like it was in Beijing, | :20:09. | :20:13.
it will be a lot cooler at night. You do not actually walk a lot, | :20:13. | :20:20.
there's a lot of sitting around. So some athletes will not really want | :20:20. | :20:28.
to do it. I carried the flag at the last Olympic Games and I like to | :20:28. | :20:32.
think that it allowed the others to win medals because they were able | :20:32. | :20:37.
to relax in their rooms. Let's take a look at some of the | :20:37. | :20:39.
hot favourites from our region hoping to bring home medals next | :20:39. | :20:41.
year. All this week we are showcasing our "Ones to Watch". | :20:41. | :20:43.
Yesterday it was Nic Asher, the Lowestoft sailor battling against a | :20:43. | :20:45.
serious medical condition to fulfill his Olympic dream on the | :20:45. | :20:49.
water. Tomorrow it's Paralympic sprinter, Jonnie Peacock, from | :20:49. | :20:54.
Cambridge. Later in the week we'll see our young tri-athlete from | :20:54. | :20:57.
Northamptonshire, Hollie Avil. And on Friday, eventer Sharon Hunt from | :20:57. | :21:07.
:21:07. | :21:09. | ||
Suffolk. Tonight though, it's the turn of William Sharman. | :21:09. | :21:14.
London 2012 maybe a year away but at the training base in (must feel | :21:14. | :21:24.
:21:24. | :21:26. | ||
like a lifetime. Corby's Will Sharman is not short of confidence. | :21:26. | :21:34.
But he has been plagued by injury. You are injured, you have a time | :21:34. | :21:38.
constraint, they are not going to move a race back because you're | :21:38. | :21:45.
injured. Life goes on. At his first race in June he finished last, | :21:45. | :21:50.
lacking race sharpness and being cruelly left behind. It is kind of | :21:50. | :21:54.
good that I was so far behind because that motivated me a lot. | :21:55. | :21:59.
How many times have you been at the back of a race like that? Very | :21:59. | :22:05.
seldom can smack exactly, very few times. For me it was a bit | :22:05. | :22:09.
embarrassing. But these things happen, it is part of being an | :22:09. | :22:14.
athlete. I suppose it is how you take your losses that counts. | :22:14. | :22:21.
one thing he is not short of his self-belief. He finished 4th in the | :22:21. | :22:25.
world championships in 2009. Will is one of six athletes who have | :22:25. | :22:28.
been signed up by BP ahead of the Olympics. His profile has increased. | :22:28. | :22:35.
Now he needs the results. Do you dare think about London 2012 yet? | :22:35. | :22:41.
do, but it is not my immediate focus. I'm thinking more about the | :22:41. | :22:45.
process, the processes which will lead me to London, rather than the | :22:45. | :22:50.
outcome. Thursday has to focus on the here and now. The UK trials | :22:50. | :23:00.
:23:00. | :23:01. | ||
this weekend, the qualifiers for the World Championships in August. | :23:02. | :23:09.
Well Jonathan Edwards and Mark Foster R Witney. -- are wig me. | :23:09. | :23:15.
What are you most looking forward to in a year's time? I'm tempted to | :23:15. | :23:20.
see the closing ceremony of the Paralympics so I can put my feet up | :23:20. | :23:26.
and have a rest! I think this year's qualifying -- this year's | :23:26. | :23:34.
critical. We have a lot of Test events. I am looking forward to | :23:34. | :23:39.
seeing what British athletes can do in their home environment. And long | :23:39. | :23:43.
term seeing what impact it will have on young people around the | :23:43. | :23:50.
country. Trying to get more people involved and participating in sport. | :23:50. | :23:52.
Well we heard earlier in the programme that some people are not | :23:52. | :23:57.
quite sure, is that what you expect at this stage, a lot of negative | :23:57. | :24:02.
press about transport and staff. Do you expect the enthusiasm to grow | :24:02. | :24:08.
in the next year? I do and I think we are in good places in terms of | :24:08. | :24:18.
:24:18. | :24:20. | ||
the public perception. We do not have any budget or time issues. As | :24:21. | :24:24.
people find out more about volunteering, I think the | :24:24. | :24:29.
excitement will grow. The momentum will grow and when you get to the | :24:29. | :24:33.
opening ceremony itself I think the country will be overtaken by | :24:33. | :24:37.
national pride and Olympic fervour. There's nothing quite like an | :24:37. | :24:43.
Olympic Games. Thank you both for joining Bass. Now our weather | :24:43. | :24:47.
joining Bass. Now our weather report. | :24:47. | :24:54.
It has been another day of very cloudy conditions. It looks like | :24:54. | :24:58.
we'll be stuck under that cloud all through tomorrow as well. The | :24:58. | :25:03.
reason for that is the low pressure. You see that marked on the chart. | :25:03. | :25:08.
Also some heavy showers developing over Holland which could end up on | :25:08. | :25:15.
the Essex and Suffolk coastline through tomorrow. But this evening | :25:15. | :25:24.
is mainly dry, just the odd spot of rain in parts of Norfolk. Most | :25:24. | :25:33.
places staying cloudy at possibly the odd missed patched forming. The | :25:33. | :25:41.
wind is mainly light, North to north-westerly. And for tomorrow we | :25:41. | :25:50.
have another cloudy day. Turning a little brighter in the West. And | :25:50. | :25:58.
that cloud could produce the odd spot of light rain or drizzle. But | :25:58. | :26:02.
here is some brightness further west and that is where we have the | :26:02. | :26:10.
best of the temperatures through tomorrow. Further east, | :26:10. | :26:20.
:26:20. | :26:21. | ||
temperatures at around 17 degrees. And the wind, mainly light. Through | :26:21. | :26:27.
the afternoon, still a lot of cloud around. But it does break in parts, | :26:27. | :26:31.
the West getting the best of any brightness towards the end of the | :26:31. | :26:37.
day. For the rest of the week, going back to the pressure John | :26:37. | :26:42.
White, a high pressure is starting to build which promises some fine | :26:42. | :26:47.
are conditions. But you will notice this front, that is where it is on | :26:47. | :26:51.
Thursday. So there's day itself looks like a fine day but by the | :26:51. | :26:56.
time it reaches as it could bring some showers for Friday. So here is | :26:56. | :27:04.
the line-up for the next five days. Although we start off fine on | :27:04. | :27:10.
Friday, we could get some showers later on in the day. But to cloudy | :27:10. | :27:15.
conditions once more to start the weekend. We should hope police seek | :27:15. | :27:19.
some more sunshine by Sunday and temperatures climbing up to 23 | :27:19. | :27:24.
temperatures climbing up to 23 degrees Celsius. | :27:24. | :27:28.
That's it from the Olympic Park. Tomorrow we'll have a special | :27:28. | :27:32.
report from inside the new Aquatics centre. And on Friday we're live | :27:32. | :27:35. |
