Hello, I'm Simon Newton. Detectives searching for a Suffolk teenager say

they've found human remains. Luke Durbin, who was 19, vanished in 2006

after a night out in Ipswich. Police say a piece of bone has now been

found near his former home. The fragment's now being forenshcally

tested. In a moment we'll speak to the officer leading the inqtiry But

first this from our Suffolk reporter Kevin Burch. White suits in the

trees ` it's patient, painstaking work. Detectives say this w`s a spot

that Luke used to visit. It was here two weeks ago that this fragment of

bone was discovered. Luke disappeared in 2006 after a night

out in Ipswich. He was capttred on CCTV in the early hours. Thd next

day there were two reports of him being seen in a car in Woodbridge.

Late last year the case featured on the BBC Crimewatch programmd, where

detectives revealed Luke's name and date of birth had been used in an

attempted front in Brixton. `` fraud. After that TV appeal, his

mother spoke of her ongoing quest for answers. It's such a mixed range

of emotions. You're thinking this could be it... Finally be it. There

are answers we're desperate for Officers said today their fhrst

priority had been to update the family on developments. Thex've

cordoned off a large area of woodland between The Avenue and

Parklands. They've appealed for people to stay away to avoid

hampering their work. This woman lives nearby and knew Luke Durbin.

She says they've seen policd activity for days. One of the

neighbours asked and they s`id it was just a training exercisd. But I

turned up today and it's all been cordoned off. It's quite a few years

down the line now. It would be nice to close the book, as one mhght say.

Police say they'll be relying on the expertise of forensic

anthropologists. They'll ex`mine the bone to determine whether it's male

or female and how old it is. They say it could take up to thrde weeks.

They expect to remain here on site for some time. Well, joining us now

is Detective Superintendent John Brocklebank. Just explain the

process please? We have a tdam of officers and that includes forensic

officers. They are examining key areas and we are looking for further

remains. This area was once landfill and near to a former hospit`l? It

makes it a little difficult. We have to look at all the options of why

the bone may be there. Another awful day for Luke's mother ` how is she

coping? I've spoken to her. She is very apprehensive. We need to try to

get a resolution as fast as possible. Their could be an innocent

explanation but our objective is to get it sorted. The search whll

continue for some days yet. We will put dogs in the location. Then we

will have forensic examinathon of any finds. That could take `round

three weeks. Ten members of a drugs gang which

operated from a house near Norwich have been jailed. The gang ran a

network of cocaine dealers `nd were caught after a lengthy survdillance

operation by police. These `re the faces of the gang who supplhed vast

quantities of Cocaine across the streets of Norfolk. And this is the

man who led them ` 32`year`old Anthony Yallop. He ran his drug

business from this quiet residential street in Bowthorpe. He had a taste

for designer clothes and was caught on camera boasting that he could

make around ?150,000 a year from his network of dealers. It took police

nine months of surveillance before busting the gang. The cocaine seized

has an estimated street valte of ?100,000. This is a significant

group of individuals who have been taken off the streets of Norfolk.

The supply route, as we've heard, was through Cambridgeshire hnto

north Norfolk and then the Xarmouth area. Today at Norwich Crown Court

the gang was sentenced to jtst over 65 years. Yallop got 16. Nicholas

Grady, who supplied cocaine in the Great Yarmouth area, was jahled for

13. William Haddow, Yallop's second in command, got eight years. The

judge said class A drugs were a problem in all cities. Herohn and

crack cocaine a great probldm in Great Yarmouth. His message `

Norfolk is nowhere for anyone who takes part in this evil trade.

Police have been pulling ovdr motorists in Ipswich tonight,

looking for witnesses 24 hotrs after a woman was raped. The 27`ydar`old

was dragged into the alley off Cromer Road around 8:30pm. She's

described her attacker as bding in his late 30s with short black hair

and dressed in black. A man in his 60s has been rdscued

after being trapped ten feet underground in two feet of slurry in

Suffolk. He'd been standing on the lid of a slurry tank when it

collapsed underneath him at a farm near Otley. He suffered injtries to

his feet when the concrete lid fell on him.
