Good evening. Detectives in Essex are investigating the murder of a

man found stabbed in a stredt in Brentwood. He was found collapsed in

Tower Hill yesterday evening. Paramedics tried in vain to revive

him. Investigations have bedn continuing overnight and throughout

the day. Experts are searchhng for clues as to who stabbed a m`n in

Essex. Police were called on Saturday evening, weekend m`rks the

spot where they found the vhctim. Tower Hill is just the few hundred

yards from the high street. Most roads have now reopened. Officers

have been carrying out extr` patrols in the area as detectives try to

establish the circumstances of the attack. It is very serious `nd

Caddick, a young man has lost his life. At this point in time we do

not know the motive for the attack or how he actually died and we are

working that out today. The senior investigating officer is currently

with his team directing offhcers to find out what happened. Essdx Police

say it was a busy Saturday night in the town centre, they are urging

anyone with information or who may have seen the attack to get in touch

I: 101. An elderly pensioner has bedn raped

in her own home in Felixstowe and a teenager has been arrested. Police

believe someone broke into her flat at two a.m.. She is in Ipswhch

Hospital where she has been treated for a number of injuries. A

17`year`old boy is being qudstioned. The MP for Braintree, Brooks

Newmark, said he has been a complete fool and heard those he cards about

most. The resigned as a govdrnment minister following revelations that

he sent sexually explicit phctures to an undercover journalist.

This is highly embarrassing for an MP who is highly regarded at

Westminster and who was starting to move up the ministerial ladder.

Brooks Newmark is an expert on the Middle East and in economic. He has

fought against the over devdlopment of the countryside in his

constituency. The resigned `s a Cabinet Office minister as the paper

went to press. He has told friends he has been a complete fool. He has

asked for privacy for his f`mily and said he remains a supporter of the

government. I think if he h`s resigned from government he should

resign from his job as an MP as well. As you'd think he will stay as

an MP. Everyone has done th`t sort of thing. If he is fitting that

standard that this is respectful to others and the voters. At the party

conference are few people h`ve complained about the tactics used by

the Sunday Mirror. The partx hopes the story will go away as qtickly as

possible. Brooks has been vdry clear, he said this morning he made

a mistake and he has apologhsed He and his family needs time to move on

from there and move forward. Party sources point out that although this

is embarrassing for Mr Newm`rk he has not broken the law. No one

expects him to have to stand down as an MP of all he is likely to keep a

rather low profile for the next few months.
