Hello, I'm Tom Williams. for the team for | :00:00. | :00:15.
The first privately-funded search operation for the missing airman | :00:16. | :00:18.
Corrie McKeague has taken place today | :00:19. | :00:20.
near to RAF Honington in Suffolk where he was based. | :00:21. | :00:24.
Corrie went missing after a night out in Bury St Edmunds | :00:25. | :00:26.
Today's search was paid for by the McKeague family, | :00:27. | :00:31.
and was nothing to do with Suffolk Police. | :00:32. | :00:33.
Corrie's mum gathered her army of volunteers together to set out | :00:34. | :00:39.
in search of Corrie, a search entirely paid for by donations. | :00:40. | :00:44.
The amount of people that have contacted me, | :00:45. | :00:48.
hundreds of people have contacted me saying they wanted to come out | :00:49. | :00:52.
and search and hundreds more have said they can't do it this time | :00:53. | :00:55.
but they want to come another time and it absolutely blows me away. | :00:56. | :01:00.
Today's search covered an area of 50 square miles, | :01:01. | :01:04.
locations not yet searched by the police. | :01:05. | :01:08.
There are around 60 people out looking for Corrie this morning | :01:09. | :01:13.
and so they can cover as much ground as possible, they've now split up | :01:14. | :01:16.
It's now been 12 weeks since Corrie Mckeague went missing | :01:17. | :01:23.
and despite sightings on CCTV, officers are no nearer discovering | :01:24. | :01:26.
So today's search is testing one theory about his disappearance. | :01:27. | :01:33.
The scenario we are working out today is that he has been hit | :01:34. | :01:37.
by a car, somebody has put him in a car and maybe quite genuinely | :01:38. | :01:42.
thought he was injured but unfortunately it has | :01:43. | :01:45.
turned out worse than that and they've dumped him somewhere. | :01:46. | :01:48.
They are all areas throughout the Kings Forest that you can get | :01:49. | :01:52.
to with a vehicle that you could quite easily get rid | :01:53. | :01:56.
But there is no evidence to support any theory | :01:57. | :02:01.
Corrie's family admit hope is fading but while there is hope, | :02:02. | :02:08.
On to the football today and David McGoldrick came off | :02:09. | :02:16.
the bench to score the winner for Ipswich at Wigan. | :02:17. | :02:20.
McGoldrick's goal came two minutes from time. | :02:21. | :02:23.
Brett Pitman scored Town's other goals to lift them to 15th | :02:24. | :02:26.
Meanwhile Norwich manager Alex Neil insists he won't quit despite a 7th | :02:27. | :02:31.
defeat in nine Championship games last night. | :02:32. | :02:34.
Huddersfield took an early lead but Jonny Howson made it 1-1 before | :02:35. | :02:38.
the visitors wrapped up the points before half-time. | :02:39. | :02:40.
Neil was booed by sections of fans at the final whistle. | :02:41. | :02:43.
In League One today, victory for Peterborough | :02:44. | :02:47.
maintained their place in the play-offs. | :02:48. | :02:48.
Hot on their heels are in-form Southend, | :02:49. | :02:51.
The Blues are up to 7th are beating Oldham. | :02:52. | :02:55.
Elsewhere MK Dons and Northampton were both beaten. | :02:56. | :02:58.
And in League Two it'll be a merry Christmas | :02:59. | :03:00.
Luton are 5th after winning at Blackpool. | :03:01. | :03:06.
Cambridge, who were in the relegation zone not long ago, | :03:07. | :03:09.
have roared into a play-off place after a 2-1 win over Crewe. | :03:10. | :03:13.
Colchester saw off Notts County, also 2-1. | :03:14. | :03:17.
On to rugby, in a couple of hours Northampton will kick off | :03:18. | :03:19.
in Dublin against Leinster in the European Champions Cup, | :03:20. | :03:24.
hoping to make amends after last week's thrashing. | :03:25. | :03:26.
Saints lost 37-10 last Friday at home. | :03:27. | :03:30.
They also lost Dylan Hartley to a six-week ban after his dismissal, | :03:31. | :03:33.
so the boss is under the microscope. | :03:34. | :03:35.
It's challenging, lots of pressure, lots of different | :03:36. | :03:37.
And the main one is we are not winning games and that is | :03:38. | :03:49.
what I have to try to address to really get those lads getting out | :03:50. | :03:53.
there, improving the way that we are playing. | :03:54. | :03:57.
And one result, defeat for Bedford in the British and Irish Cup. | :03:58. | :04:00.
They lost to Ealing by 40 points to 23. | :04:01. | :04:05.
It has been dry so far this weekend and we are expecting it to be dry | :04:06. | :04:11.
Overnight we will see some fog forming. | :04:12. | :04:14.
Through this evening and overnight, some patches of fog already | :04:15. | :04:17.
starting to form and that fog becomes dense by the early | :04:18. | :04:19.
That could make for some very tricky driving conditions first thing, | :04:20. | :04:25.
so do take care if you're out and about on the roads. | :04:26. | :04:28.
Fog will lift through the day, we will see a little bit | :04:29. | :04:31.
On balance, it will certainly feel a little bit chillier than recently | :04:32. | :04:35.
and highs of no more than 7 or 8 Celsius. | :04:36. | :04:39.
Over the next couple of days, we do actually hang onto a lot | :04:40. | :04:42.
of dry weather, but it always stays on the chilly side. | :04:43. | :04:45.
On Sunday we see highs of 8 Celsius, on Monday highs of just 6 Celsius | :04:46. | :04:49.
and as we head towards the middle of the week, | :04:50. | :04:51.
we can see those night-time temperatures starting to drop | :04:52. | :04:53.
OK, that's it. We're back tomorrow at 5:30pm and 11:20pm, enjoy your | :04:54. | :05:04.
Saturday night, goodbye. | :05:05. | :05:07. |
