One big changes to come later this week in particular into the

Christmas weekend. Parents of seriously ill children

who were born in hospital in Boston say planned cuts to the maternity

unit there will put mums Hospital bosses want to centralise

specialist care in Lincoln and scale back services in the town as part

to the BBC and later confirmed show key maternity services

could be centralised. That means that women

with complicated pregnancies and premature babies will have

it at our convenience. This is about us wanting to keep it

because it is our local hospital. And it's not just used

by the people of Boston. It's used by mums in Spalding,

in Skegness, maybe even in Louth, in all these little

towns and villages. Last week county councillors voted

against the health plans, which could also see

There werer claims that Hull Prison was on the "brink of a riot"

after 15 prisoners were moved from Birmingham Prison.

The Justice Secretary said the dispersal policy was needed.

What has been happening there today?

The focus as you say over the weekend was the culling of the

turkeys. Today it is all about the investigation into the source of the

virus. Lots of theories about this including the theory that it is

transmitted by wild birds on their migration route over the East Coast,

but it is something scientists will want to investigate. Lots of

concerns about the virus because of what it is doing in Europe,

spreading quickly. Just over the weekend, 20,000 turkeys had to be

culled in Germany. The watchword here in Lincolnshire is

bio-security. Once it's in the country

it is of great concern and what we all do is we all have

to up our bio-security. We keep everybody we can

away from our farms, we make sure we have dedicated

wellingtons for every shed, we have buckets full

of disinfectant there to make sure that we can't walk

it into the sheds. So we all need to be very careful,

and keep it out of all the So in terms of that bio-security

therein out to exclusion bones around this farm. A three climate

zone prohibiting all movement of poultry, pod poultry products and

wastes and a wider surveillance zone where scientists can keep an eye on

neighbouring poultry units. Everything is being done to try to

stop the spread. And they are very reiterating the fact that though the

virus is deadly to birds it does not pose a risk to human health.

People living in East Yorkshire and Hull could be forced to wait

for routine operations if they smoke or are overweight.

Health bosses are looking at copying similar restrictions placed

of say go on an exercise regime just to lose a bit of weight and if they

can't do it they should give them the operation anyway.

Recently a similar idea in the Vale of York was criticised by some

surgeons who said delays could may worsen health problems.

The East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group told us

it's "looking at a number of measures to improve the health

and wellbeing of patients and address the financial challenges

A debate remains as to whether delaying treatment

There has been much debate on this, this evening.

Earlier I spoke to Ian Eardley from the Royal College of Surgeons.

I asked him if delaying operations for six months is a good idea.

I think people who are smokers, who are overweight,

certainly should stop smoking or being overweight,

but that shouldn't prevent them from seeing a surgeon

who may be able to offer them an operation to

But if that is a non-urgent operation, and we're talking about

non-urgent, why shouldn't they cut down on smoking or eat less to make

themselves more healthy and give themselves a better chance of a full

Well, some of those people will be in pain, and unnecessary

Some of them will have conditions that

And the third group of people may not be

able to lose weight because of lack of mobility, so...

Are you saying that somebody who's in pain, who's

got a body mass index of over 35 should get their treatment

there and then and not have to wait six months?

They should certainly be seen and assessed to determine

whether the treatment would get rid of their pain, absolutely.

If a smoker is being forced to give up

before a non-urgent operation, is that fair enough or is it none of

the business of the CCG if someone smokes?

We would feel that they should be assessed on an individual basis.

I'm sure we'd all agree that stopping smoking is a good thing to

do, and the CCG rightfully has an interest in that.

But to use it as a blanket ban to stop them seeing a

Do you see this as about health care or do you

see it about saving money for a few months?

I think the worry is that this is rationing.

There are other CCGs round the country that

have done similar things, and we were always

example of the weird and This is a mallard duckling,

and he was found in the cell at the immigration centre at

Morton Hall near Swinderby. One of the inmates had

taken him in from outside. The hospital will continue to take

animals until the end of December, but will close in March once they're

all fully recovered. So perhaps it just remains

on behalf of all the wildlife that survived because

Hull City will spend Christmas at the bottom of the Premier League

Grimsby dancer Joanne Clifton win Strictly Come Dancing

with her partner sports presenter Joanne beat her big brother Kevin

in Saturday night's final. Watching in the audience

were their proud parents - Is everyone in the town

talking about the win? They certainly are. And in fact this

dance floor here is going to be packed with all the members of the

Clifton dance Academy tonight. There will be only one subject around the

dinner party at their tech Christmas party. This is her Joanne's winners

trophy. She was up against her big brother. But the night was all hers.

It was the moment the glitter ball was given to Grimsby. Joanne Clifton

and her partner stole the strictly show from the first moment. Made me

gasp again. Of a different class altogether. I can't bear it, you're

so good. Joanne's brother Kevin also wowed the judges with his partner

Louise Redknapp. But he could not have been prouder of losing out to

his little sister. He calls she calls him her inspiration. I have do

say a huge comic huge thank you from the bottom of our hats to all of you

who supported us throughout the series, all of you who voted, even

just a little messages on social media, it has all meant so much to

us and we hope to make you proud. And in Grimsby it is clear they

have. I loved it. We were team Joanne in our house. I think

one-year Kevin just might get the win. My Gran watches it. She loves

the show. It's good for Grimsby. Awesome. Kevin is a record-breaking

four-time finalist. Joanne is a champion. This pair have put Grimsby

well and truly on the showbiz map. What a night it was on Saturday. I

had a tear in my eye editing that this afternoon. Not as many as this

pair though. Keith and Judy Clifton. Kevin's dad. Had you feel at the

weekend? Exhilarated. We quarried much more than you did. It was

exhilarating, emotionally draining, it was every emotion you could think

of, to be honest. It was a sensational night. The dancing was

thrilling. But as a mum that must have been tough for you, your baby

is up against each other? It was dreadful. How can you choose between

your babies. I was anxious, nervous, happy. Really frightened in case

they went wrong because that could hinder their celebrity. And then Joe

one. And she was sad for her brother, wasn't she? Afterwards,

when the press weather, she kept crying and I asked her why. And she

said it was because Kevin had been in the final for and never won it

and she had won it. But she earned it. You must be excited. You have

bred two of the best current dancers in the country. We are very happy of

course. They are true professionals and they did their job. They were

asked to do a job for their celebrities, make them the best they

could and they got both of them to the finals, so we are proud of that.

They are proud of that. And we are proud of them as well. And at some

point I might give this trophy back but not just now.
