A man has been arrested in connection with the death

:00:15.:00:17.

of a man who's body was found by the side of a Lincolnshire road

:00:18.:00:21.

on the A1104 at Ulceby near Louth in January.

:00:22.:00:27.

A 56-year-old man from the Peterborough area has been

:00:28.:00:29.

arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving,

:00:30.:00:31.

and failing to stop after a road traffic collision.

:00:32.:00:33.

Hull City Council has admitted it got it wrong by closing the city's

:00:34.:00:37.

Visitors to the UK City of Culture said they were disappointed to find

:00:38.:00:42.

places like the Maritime Museum and the Ferens Art Gallery shut.

:00:43.:00:45.

They will be able to see the attractions for the rest

:00:46.:00:51.

of the Easter weekend, but the council says

:00:52.:00:52.

it is likely to open them on Good Friday from next year.

:00:53.:00:55.

In Hull, the UK City of Culture, there is plenty to see and do.

:00:56.:01:00.

But for those wanting to visit the museums

:01:01.:01:02.

and art gallery today, they were left disappointed.

:01:03.:01:06.

Obviously I work full-time and I've come

:01:07.:01:09.

today to see the museums, thought I'll take in

:01:10.:01:11.

Hull City of Culture on a bank holiday so it is quite disappointing

:01:12.:01:14.

We were expecting to go to the Maritime Museum and other

:01:15.:01:17.

museums in Hull at the present time so, yes, we were disappointed to

:01:18.:01:21.

The schools are on holiday so you'd think

:01:22.:01:24.

It's a shame when there's a lot of people about

:01:25.:01:30.

but maybe there's other things that they can go

:01:31.:01:32.

The King family had travelled from Headon for their visit.

:01:33.:01:35.

It's a shame because that's what we'd planned to do, hadn't we?

:01:36.:01:38.

To come and see the poppies and the Lego daffodils and

:01:39.:01:41.

to go in the museum so it is a shame that it's closed.

:01:42.:01:44.

Yeah, it was really a shame, I was hoping to go in

:01:45.:01:47.

Hull City Council says that Hull's museums and art gallery

:01:48.:01:50.

are closed every Good Friday but they'll reopen tomorrow

:01:51.:01:53.

for the rest of the bank holiday weekend.

:01:54.:01:55.

In fact, they're open 360 days a year and for longer on

:01:56.:01:57.

But it's admitted that having them closed today was a mistake.

:01:58.:02:01.

Obviously it's Good Friday today and they're shut so

:02:02.:02:03.

probably we got that wrong, we need to look at that for next year.

:02:04.:02:07.

But I think the thinking was that probably

:02:08.:02:09.

there's both rugby teams are at home today, there's

:02:10.:02:11.

lots of other things going on

:02:12.:02:12.

But what fantastic news that people were

:02:13.:02:18.

so desperate to use our cultural facilities so we'll learn the lesson

:02:19.:02:21.

So while families still have the Easter to enjoy the city's

:02:22.:02:25.

attractions, many feel let down to have a wasted trip today.

:02:26.:02:28.

Staff at one of Lincoln's oldest shops say they feel

:02:29.:02:41.

like they are grieving as the store prepares to close for good.

:02:42.:02:43.

Ruddocks has been run by the same family

:02:44.:02:45.

It'll shut it's doors for good this weekend blaming poor

:02:46.:02:50.

trade because of Brexit, internet shopping

:02:51.:02:51.

It's been in the same place on the high street

:02:52.:02:55.

We are all feeling very sad and it's a very difficult time.

:02:56.:03:03.

I would call it, we are actually grieving.

:03:04.:03:05.

Above all, the staff have been absolutely incredible.

:03:06.:03:08.

You know, to maintain that professionalism and discipline in

:03:09.:03:13.

the face of that is just unbelievable.

:03:14.:03:14.

In sport it was a good day for our football teams.

:03:15.:03:20.

There were wins for Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Lincoln and North Ferriby.

:03:21.:03:27.

In rugby league, there was defeat for Hull FC but a win for Hull KR.

:03:28.:03:31.

More details on the BBC sport website.

:03:32.:03:32.

A music festival is taking place in Hull next month which celebrates

:03:33.:03:35.

The two countries were at loggerheads over fishing

:03:36.:03:38.

rights for many years, in a dispute known as the cod wars.

:03:39.:03:42.

But they also have a positive shared history.

:03:43.:03:45.

Kofi Smiles has been to Iceland to find out more.

:03:46.:03:49.

Home of fjords, trolls and an unexpectedly

:03:50.:03:53.

But what has it got to with Hull, the UK City of Culture?

:03:54.:04:06.

Well, for one thing, Reykjavik is one of Hull's sister cities.

:04:07.:04:08.

Through the fishing industry, they traded

:04:09.:04:10.

with each other for 700 years, sometimes peacefully, sometimes

:04:11.:04:12.

They were both listed in the world's top

:04:13.:04:15.

ten cities to visit by Rough Guides in 2016.

:04:16.:04:21.

It'S even said that the cobblestones in Hull's old town were

:04:22.:04:24.

But there's cultural links too and that's what I'm here for.

:04:25.:04:28.

Voyage by Steinunn Thorarinsdottir leads proudly out to sea

:04:29.:04:30.

What many people don't realise though is that it has

:04:31.:04:35.

a sister statue 1,000 miles away in Vik, Iceland.

:04:36.:04:38.

There is one sculpture on the south coast of Iceland and there is Voyage

:04:39.:04:45.

in Hull kind of looking over the ocean,

:04:46.:04:49.

North Atlantic Flux, one of the major music festivals

:04:50.:04:59.

of the City of Culture programme will celebrate

:05:00.:05:01.

I think you're going to be seeing a good

:05:02.:05:10.

mixture of what Hull has to offer but also things from the North

:05:11.:05:14.

Atlantic, you know, it's quite Scandinavian

:05:15.:05:18.

and then just some of my favourite things from around Britain

:05:19.:05:21.

because Britain has been instrumental, pun intended, I guess,

:05:22.:05:28.

in forming my musical DNA and my musical vocabulary throughout

:05:29.:05:31.

my life so it's a very, very important place for me.

:05:32.:05:34.

The sea separates us but it also gives us this shared history

:05:35.:05:39.

and this natural understanding of each

:05:40.:05:40.

Historically, men from both cities would trawl for fish

:05:41.:05:46.

in these waters which led to overfishing and a breakdown in

:05:47.:05:49.

But now through music and art, there's a friendship that thrives on

:05:50.:05:55.

so many levels, that is what John Grant and his friends

:05:56.:05:58.

will be celebrating in Hull at North Atlantic

:05:59.:06:00.

Flux and that is why I will be there at the front of the crowd.

:06:01.:06:07.

To see more from Iceland, don't miss the second episode

:06:08.:06:10.

of Britain's City of Culture show on the BBC News channel tonight

:06:11.:06:14.

There are plenty of chances to see it over the Easter Weekend.

:06:15.:06:20.

Here are the details on your screen now.

:06:21.:06:22.

And we'll make sure that's on our Facebook page too.

:06:23.:06:26.

Let's get the weather forecast now, here is Paul.

:06:27.:06:31.

Well, it's the typical mixed bag for the bank holiday weekend.

:06:32.:06:34.

A fair few showers around this evening, they'll tend to die away

:06:35.:06:37.

as we head into the night time with clear spells becoming more

:06:38.:06:40.

widespread and lighter winds as well.

:06:41.:06:42.

So temperatures will drop down to a fairly chilly four

:06:43.:06:44.

Bit of a chilly start tomorrow then and it's a day

:06:45.:06:49.

One or two showers coming through on a

:06:50.:06:52.

Having said that, I think most places will

:06:53.:06:54.

probably stay dry and hang onto some brighter weather tomorrow.

:06:55.:06:57.

It's never going to feel that warm though,

:06:58.:06:59.

we will see temperatures typically around 11

:07:00.:07:00.

or 12 Celsius through the afternoon

:07:01.:07:02.

and those numbers tempered by that brisk north-westerly breeze.

:07:03.:07:04.

So, that's the way it's looking for tomorrow.

:07:05.:07:08.

Another cold night tomorrow night, maybe even a touch of frost

:07:09.:07:11.

And then for Easter Sunday, a lot of cloud around.

:07:12.:07:14.

Outbreaks of rain spreading in from the north-west to affect

:07:15.:07:17.

most parts through the course of the day with temperatures

:07:18.:07:19.

Then it's all change again as that rain clears away

:07:20.:07:24.

on Sunday night and we're back into sunshine and showers

:07:25.:07:27.

So most places see some bright spells,

:07:28.:07:31.

and a cool northerly breeze for Easter Monday.

:07:32.:07:35.

Remember you can keep up-to-date with the forecast

:07:36.:07:38.

Thank you. That is all from Look North tonight. There is that British

:07:39.:07:52.

city of culture programme on the news channel at 8:30pm this evening.

:07:53.:07:57.

We are back at 10:20pm tonight. Until then, have a good evening.

:07:58.:07:59.

Goodbye. To think that this time last

:08:00.:08:12.

weekend, temperatures were in the 20s. They got up to 25.5. Much

:08:13.:08:19.

cooler across the country this weekend. And this headline is true

:08:20.:08:25.

for the weather next week. That cool air stream from the north will

:08:26.:08:29.

persist. The mild air tries to get in, but never really wins. What have

:08:30.:08:35.

we got for the rest of today? The rain we had across Wales earlier

:08:36.:08:40.

will move southwards, but once the rain reaches you, it will be much

:08:41.:08:44.

lighter. Across many northern areas, the skies will clear up altogether.

:08:45.:08:49.

It will be a nippy night. Certainly a touch of frost northern areas, but

:08:50.:08:56.

not in the south. There will be wintry showers

:08:57.:08:58.
