Helene welcome to Monday's Look North. Tonight, at the when accused | :00:07. | :00:14.
of catching a bus during a marathon breaks his silence and insists he | :00:14. | :00:22.
is innocent. Here in their right mind completes a 24 miles of a 26 | :00:22. | :00:27.
mile race running catches a bus? Jail for a year. The care home | :00:28. | :00:31.
worker who attacked two elderly women. | :00:31. | :00:36.
The council has come back. While local authority housing is being | :00:36. | :00:42.
built in one of our cities for 20 years -- why it is being built for | :00:42. | :00:49.
the first time in 20 years. And we are live in the home town of | :00:49. | :00:56.
Little Mix's David and Perrie. And the season starts here for | :00:56. | :01:06.
:01:06. | :01:14. | ||
Sunderland fans as the new boss He has broken his silence to | :01:14. | :01:18.
protest his innocence. Rob Sloan, the Sunderland runner who took part | :01:18. | :01:21.
in the Kielder marathon and was taking a short cut on the bus, | :01:21. | :01:24.
still maintains he did not cheat. The former soldier was thrown out | :01:24. | :01:28.
of his running club, ban from competition for six months, and | :01:28. | :01:32.
stripped of his their place in the Kielder event, after witnesses | :01:32. | :01:38.
reported seeing him on the bus. His defence is his sat nav system shows | :01:38. | :01:41.
him travelling at a constant pace until the last couple of miles of | :01:41. | :01:48.
the race when it went haywire. He has been speaking exclusively to | :01:48. | :01:52.
BBC Inside Out. The sounds incredible, unbelievable | :01:52. | :01:58.
that it was not you. Yes, something stinks. All I know is I came third | :01:58. | :02:05.
in the race, I have my sat nav... Someone might well say you have | :02:05. | :02:11.
done a fantastic job the day before, you have won the Ten Cate. The next | :02:11. | :02:16.
day, whatever reason, it is too much. A buzz comes along. You get | :02:16. | :02:22.
honest and say, I want to be let off just before the end. Because | :02:22. | :02:26.
you want to finish the race. By accident, you come in third, and | :02:26. | :02:31.
that is where it all falls apart. You tell a small fee and which then | :02:31. | :02:35.
gets difficult to get out of, it gets bigger and bigger, and that is | :02:35. | :02:43.
the situation you are in. A light that has just gone bonkers. It is | :02:43. | :02:51.
conceivable, but my sat nav cannot live. It goes fuzzy. From that | :02:52. | :02:59.
point is a mile and a half. It is just... But it also says you ran at | :02:59. | :03:05.
30mph. That is about the speed of a bus. It does, but it would not work | :03:05. | :03:11.
on a bus. You say that, but it could be next to the window... I | :03:11. | :03:14.
know you are adamant that there are plenty of people who could pick | :03:15. | :03:19.
holes in that. Yes, definitely. I am just here to give my side of the | :03:19. | :03:27.
story. And so, if on paper at least you're guilty, how do you | :03:27. | :03:31.
rehabilitate yourself in the sporting world? I want to come back | :03:32. | :03:38.
next year, run the marathon in the North and do it for Help For Heroes, | :03:38. | :03:44.
something close to my heart. He would like to be able to run in | :03:44. | :03:48.
his home town. Can he? Before we would consider having him in any of | :03:48. | :03:51.
our events, we would hope that he would come and apologise and | :03:51. | :03:57.
finally admits that his story does not bear any trees at all. Until he | :03:57. | :04:02.
does that, I am not sure we would consider him in any of our events. | :04:03. | :04:07.
Steve Cram speaking there. More on tonight's's Inside Out at 7:30pm | :04:07. | :04:11.
here on BBC One. A care home worker who attacked two | :04:11. | :04:15.
elderly women has been jailed for 12 months at Carlisle Crown Court. | :04:15. | :04:20.
Kimberley Walker had put David Low -- a pillow over the base of one | :04:20. | :04:25.
woman. As well as her jail sentence, she has also been banned for life | :04:25. | :04:29.
from working with elderly people. Kimberley Walker arriving for | :04:29. | :04:33.
sentencing this morning. It follows her conviction last month after a | :04:33. | :04:38.
week on trial. She knew she would most likely be leaving in a prison | :04:38. | :04:42.
van. She was working at his care home in Workington last year when | :04:42. | :04:45.
the incidents took place. A fellow care worker belatedly report is she | :04:45. | :04:50.
had seen Walker place a pillow over a woman's space. It was after a | :04:50. | :04:56.
second incident, when Walker pulled a fleece tightly over a dementia | :04:56. | :04:59.
sufferer's face and told her to shut up. Former colleagues gave | :04:59. | :05:03.
evidence and she was bound guilty of the ill treatment of the two | :05:03. | :05:07.
elderly women. The judge said the courts would not tolerate cruelty | :05:07. | :05:14.
to all people. The sentence imposed reflects the grave nature of the | :05:14. | :05:18.
actions, committed against vulnerable elderly people she was | :05:18. | :05:22.
paid to care for. Cases like these are extremely rare and where they | :05:22. | :05:28.
do happen, we will ensure that any such cases of were investigated. | :05:28. | :05:32.
She was in a position of trust. She abuse that position. And she abuse | :05:32. | :05:38.
the trust of the victims, their families and also her colleagues. | :05:38. | :05:42.
Kimberley Walker's QC pleaded mitigation, saying these were two | :05:42. | :05:48.
isolated incidents. It was not a campaign of abuse. The prosecutor | :05:48. | :05:52.
rejected that and said there were three aggravating circumstances. | :05:52. | :05:55.
She was in a position of trust. It could have been much worse. They | :05:55. | :05:59.
could have been subrogation or even brain damage. And it falls within | :05:59. | :06:04.
the remit of a disability hate crime under the Criminal Justice | :06:04. | :06:08.
Act. He sentenced her to 12 months in prison with six months on | :06:08. | :06:18.
:06:18. | :06:21. | ||
The chief executive of North Cumbria's Hospitals Trust has been | :06:21. | :06:27.
told he must find evidence over claims that changes have been made | :06:27. | :06:30.
over the running of the cash- strapped hospitals. He was | :06:31. | :06:34.
questioned this afternoon. The financial problems at the hospitals | :06:34. | :06:38.
are, according to some staff, now at breaking point. The scrutiny | :06:38. | :06:41.
committee will meet again in January when it hopes Doctor | :06:41. | :06:44.
Goodwin will provide evidence for his claims of improvements. | :06:44. | :06:48.
It has also emerged a senior consultant at the trust he claimed | :06:48. | :06:51.
the organisation was close to breakdown has resigned from his | :06:51. | :06:56.
role representing fellow doctors. Guy Broome appeared on the BBC's | :06:56. | :06:59.
Inside Out programme last month, raising concerns that staffing at | :06:59. | :07:04.
the trust was inadequate and Accident and Emergency departments. | :07:04. | :07:09.
He has resigned from his role as a chair of a committee. | :07:09. | :07:14.
They seemed to get out of fashion with flair trousers and they have | :07:14. | :07:17.
been kicked around like a political football ever since. But tonight we | :07:17. | :07:22.
can report back rows of houses are back. York City Council is building | :07:22. | :07:27.
its first estate in 20 years and that is not before time for the | :07:27. | :07:32.
3,000 families waiting. A building site in York but not of | :07:32. | :07:36.
a type that has been seen in the city for more than 20 years. Have a | :07:36. | :07:41.
closer look at that contractor's's board. These are council houses and | :07:41. | :07:46.
this is the kind of development that York has gone in for since | :07:46. | :07:50.
pre- Mrs Thatcher days. -- has not gone in for. We first got funding | :07:50. | :07:54.
for these after the general election in 2010. Some more funding | :07:55. | :08:00.
came forward soak this project has been around for some time. We are | :08:00. | :08:07.
on this last leg now. Residents have been surveyed and we have had | :08:07. | :08:12.
massive support. It is a small step for we're very proud. There are 19 | :08:12. | :08:17.
family homes here, being built to the highest standards, with full | :08:17. | :08:20.
insulation and the solar panels. York is an expensive city to live | :08:20. | :08:26.
in. The average cost of a privately rented three-bedroom house is 650 | :08:26. | :08:30.
a month. These houses will cost about half that in rent but they | :08:30. | :08:39.
are really just a drop in the ocean. There are currently 3,000 families | :08:39. | :08:43.
on York's housing waiting list. Steve and Kirsty, living in a one- | :08:43. | :08:49.
bedroom flat and expecting a baby in March, are one of them. We did | :08:49. | :08:54.
have a private flat before this one, with a private letting company and | :08:54. | :09:00.
for a one-bedroom flat just for rent it was 495 a month. And then | :09:00. | :09:04.
you have all your bills on top. It is about 700 a month. With the | :09:04. | :09:10.
baby on the way, we are going to be stretched with money. These houses | :09:10. | :09:14.
should be ready early in the New Year but funding for future | :09:14. | :09:21.
projects is uncertain. You're watching Look North. Still | :09:21. | :09:26.
to come: Dawn joins me for Team Talk, looking back at the weekend's | :09:26. | :09:31.
sport. Plus... I am in said Shields, home of X | :09:31. | :09:36.
Factor winners, and tonight I will talk to two of the most important | :09:36. | :09:40.
people behind Little Mix, and that is their mothers. | :09:40. | :09:44.
There is a different weather warning for every day this week. | :09:44. | :09:52.
Tonight there is a yellow warning for heavy rain. The details shortly. | :09:52. | :09:56.
Here is someone who must be studying the weather forecast, | :09:56. | :09:59.
Newcastle student Bryony Balen, hoping to become the youngest | :09:59. | :10:03.
Briton to ski across Antarctica to be South Pole. She has completed | :10:03. | :10:07.
the first quarter of her journey. She is part of an international | :10:07. | :10:11.
team of six but one of them, an American, has abandoned the attempt | :10:11. | :10:15.
and has had to be taken off the ice by a rescue plane. | :10:16. | :10:20.
Bryony, 21 next week, has taken a year out of the geography caused a | :10:20. | :10:22.
university and spent many hours training for the expedition which | :10:23. | :10:27.
will last more than two months. Despite suffering from a cold, she | :10:27. | :10:30.
is making good progress. She has been overwhelmed by the beauty of | :10:31. | :10:35.
Antarctica. It is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. | :10:35. | :10:42.
You cannot call it white. It is silver, shades of blue... There is | :10:42. | :10:47.
not a lot to look that so you spend a lot of time staring at the snow. | :10:47. | :10:52.
At the moment, where we are, there is no horizon at all really. We are | :10:52. | :10:56.
on a bit of a slope and all around us it is exactly the same in every | :10:56. | :11:01.
direction. It feels very isolated but it is quite nice. I have never | :11:01. | :11:06.
been anywhere like it before. Brainy and the team are hoping to | :11:06. | :11:10.
complete the track for by the middle of next month, on the 100th | :11:10. | :11:13.
anniversary of the first successful British team to reach the South | :11:13. | :11:17.
Pole. If we are talking long car journeys, | :11:17. | :11:23.
what about this? They had never met before and there were brought | :11:23. | :11:27.
together by The X Factor but Little Mix are celebrating as the first | :11:27. | :11:33.
group to win the show. It has all gone down well in South Shields, | :11:33. | :11:38.
home to two of the girls. The town had already given us expect to win | :11:38. | :11:41.
at Joe McElderry and now it has happened all over again. Our | :11:41. | :11:47.
reporter is there. What is the atmosphere like? Everybody I have | :11:47. | :11:51.
spoken to has been absolutely overjoyed with the success of | :11:51. | :11:54.
Little Mix. South Shields is getting quite used to producing | :11:54. | :12:00.
expect to winners. In a moment, I will chat to two of the most | :12:00. | :12:04.
important people behind Little Mix, their mothers. They have some great | :12:04. | :12:07.
stories to tell but firstly, let's have a look at the story of last | :12:07. | :12:14.
night. Little Mix! They had done it, and | :12:14. | :12:19.
few people seemed as surprised as they were. The girl band maybe a | :12:19. | :12:24.
little mixed, but they have won a huge accolade in the world of pop. | :12:24. | :12:31.
They have become the first band to take the expats title. Two of the | :12:31. | :12:36.
girls, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards, from South Shields, are | :12:36. | :12:42.
both 18 and the overwhelmed. Congratulations! Jade, how are you | :12:42. | :12:48.
feeling? I want to thank everybody! All of the expected team have been | :12:48. | :12:52.
so brilliant and we are so grateful. With millions tuning in to watch | :12:53. | :12:59.
the girls win or across the country, back in South Shields, total joy. | :12:59. | :13:04.
At this college, trade's talent as a sin there was apparent, excelling | :13:04. | :13:12.
in her music exams. -- Jade's talent was apparent. She sang in | :13:12. | :13:19.
these very studios. Here are a couple of girls who sang with her. | :13:19. | :13:23.
Rebecca and Kirsty used to sing with Jade. How do you feel about | :13:23. | :13:28.
her win? Very proud and she is a great singer. A great inspiration | :13:28. | :13:34.
for others. Yes, definitely great. It shows people from South Shields | :13:34. | :13:40.
can have an opportunity to be a big star. Absolutely delighted. It is a | :13:40. | :13:43.
fantastic break for her and we are so pleased she was one of our | :13:43. | :13:49.
students. If you had a message for David what would it be? To keep on | :13:49. | :13:53.
going and make the most of it. has been a tough X Factor. | :13:53. | :13:57.
Surrounded in controversy, and a roller coaster ride for the likes | :13:58. | :14:01.
of Amelia Lily from an Thorpe in Middlesbrough, voted out on | :14:01. | :14:06.
Saturday. It was like having my heart ripped out. I suppose I am | :14:06. | :14:10.
disappointed that she was not the one chosen as the finalist, as the | :14:10. | :14:14.
winner, but she was there in the final, a tremendous achievement. | :14:14. | :14:20.
Thoroughly deserved. A huge amount of talent. But for Little Mix, a | :14:20. | :14:25.
total delight. They have won up a recording contract are -- and are | :14:25. | :14:33.
now among the favourites for the Two of the people who have been | :14:33. | :14:37.
with those girls throughout their journey is their mums, and of | :14:37. | :14:40.
course particularly for Jade and Perrie from South Shields here. Let | :14:40. | :14:44.
us join them. If I can come to you, what you're was your first reaction | :14:44. | :14:48.
when you heard they were the winners?. Absolutely elated. Over | :14:48. | :14:55.
the moon. So chuffed. I don't have to ask if you cried? I didn't. I | :14:55. | :14:59.
was quite calm. It was after. Debbie burst out crying didn't you. | :14:59. | :15:04.
How did you react? I broke down crying. I was overwhelmed with the | :15:04. | :15:08.
whole thing. It was such a long process from the beginning to the | :15:08. | :15:12.
end, and at the end of it, and they came home, they are going to come | :15:12. | :15:17.
home with the title it was fantastic. You have spoken to them. | :15:17. | :15:20.
What did Perrie say? We were waiting because obviously after the | :15:20. | :15:24.
show, we didn't get to see them straight away, because they had to | :15:24. | :15:29.
talk to a lot of people. She rang to say mam, where are you, I said | :15:29. | :15:35.
we are downstairs and she say, mam, I said what? She says I've just won | :15:36. | :15:40.
the X Factor. I said pardon? Really? There is thousands of | :15:40. | :15:44.
people want to come down and celebrate it with you. She was | :15:44. | :15:47.
taking it all in her stride. I think she was shocked. They have | :15:47. | :15:52.
been shocked all the way through. Jade was sobbing. Absolutely | :15:52. | :15:58.
couldn't breathe and I was telling her to take deep breaths and she | :15:58. | :16:04.
was saying "We've won the X Factor "It means a lot to the whole of | :16:04. | :16:09.
South Tyneside, but let us go back to you in the studio. Thank you. We | :16:09. | :16:13.
will go straight from the studio down to London, because we can join | :16:13. | :16:19.
the girls now. All of Little Mix, Jade and Perrie. Jade, you probably | :16:19. | :16:29.
:16:29. | :16:30. | ||
haven't had any sleep have you? you hear anything? What has it been | :16:30. | :16:36.
like the last few hours since you won? Oh it's been amazing, we can't | :16:36. | :16:42.
believe we won, it still hasn't registered. We were just today it's | :16:42. | :16:46.
been so busy, and we can't believe et. We are so grateful for | :16:46. | :16:50.
everybody who voted. Great for the North East, especially good for | :16:50. | :16:59.
South Shield, what is it about the place? What do we what? Love about | :16:59. | :17:02.
the place? South Shields is such a proud place. We couldn't be happier | :17:02. | :17:06.
to be from there. If we hadn't got the support from the north we | :17:06. | :17:11.
probably wouldn't be here now. We are grateful. We can't wait to go | :17:11. | :17:15.
home and see the families and supporters. What next now girls? | :17:15. | :17:24.
What is next for you? Interesting... I can't hear you. Is this Jeff | :17:24. | :17:29.
Brown? It is jait, it's Geoff! think at the minute, we don't know | :17:29. | :17:35.
what is going on. We have been thrown into this different world. | :17:35. | :17:39.
We have the tour after Christmas and then we have recording the | :17:39. | :17:44.
album but we hope we get a number one for Christmas. We hope so too. | :17:44. | :17:54.
:17:54. | :17:57. | ||
Jade, Perrie and all the girls Monday night is teem talk night and | :17:57. | :18:01.
after one game in charge Martin O'Neill has got them smiling again | :18:01. | :18:10.
on Wearside. Kicking off his career with a win. They left it a bit late. | :18:10. | :18:15.
O'Neill said it was surreal, the way Sunderland won it with the two | :18:15. | :18:18.
late goals. It was amazing. He brought something to the club. I | :18:18. | :18:28.
:18:28. | :18:51. | ||
Wells it wasn't looking like it was going to be Sunderland's day or | :18:51. | :19:00.
night. Blackburn took the lead, but a soft goal for the man of the very | :19:00. | :19:04.
strange mask. It could have been worse, because this should have | :19:04. | :19:11.
been a goal. Yes. Couldn't see a lot wrong with that. Blackburn got | :19:11. | :19:17.
away with this. Kieran Richardson. But this is the man who changed it | :19:17. | :19:25.
all. James McGinn. Signed from Derry City last August. Bruce never | :19:25. | :19:30.
played him. When he came on he made a difference. He set up Larsson and | :19:30. | :19:35.
the crowd lifted. The noise levels went up straight away. Right attend, | :19:35. | :19:39.
these two cracking goals. This one came out of nowhere. It was a | :19:39. | :19:44.
rocket of a shot from Vaughan. The fans knew then something special | :19:44. | :19:51.
was going to happen It did. Larsson curling one in enjoyed by this fan | :19:51. | :19:54.
former chairman Niall Quinn enjoyed by the players of course and I | :19:54. | :20:00.
think the manager enjoyed it as well! I enjoyed the equalising goal | :20:00. | :20:05.
and the winning Goal goal. The rest? Would you call it enjoyment? | :20:05. | :20:09.
The players were fantastic. The crowd was super. You couldn't ask | :20:09. | :20:13.
for any more. You can see when the crowd are behind the seam, the | :20:13. | :20:18.
players were talking about it after, what an amazing feeling that was, | :20:18. | :20:23.
it was very very positive from everything today. It had a positive | :20:23. | :20:27.
effect on their league position, lifting them out of the relegation | :20:27. | :20:31.
and the pack just above them. Newcastle are still one the top | :20:31. | :20:34.
bunch but they are losing ground after taking one point from their | :20:34. | :20:38.
last four matches. As we feared injuries are starting to catch up | :20:38. | :20:43.
with them. They went down 4-2 at Norwich. Their team was a Little | :20:43. | :20:49.
Mixed up. Like it. Best we could do. Apologies for that. It was a good | :20:49. | :20:55.
one. Without any of their central defenders from the first team | :20:55. | :20:59.
Norwich made them pay All four goals came from crosses and all | :20:59. | :21:05.
headers. Got to mention Grant Holt, started his career with Workington, | :21:05. | :21:09.
now he is Norwich captain and a folk hero at Carrow Road. They | :21:09. | :21:13.
couldn't handle him. No Coloccini, Mike Williamson injured. Still | :21:13. | :21:17.
showed a lot of spirit but that will only get you foor if you don't | :21:17. | :21:24.
have the squad to fill the gaps. Tim Krul made his point. I think | :21:24. | :21:29.
they probably knew that. I think they did. There will be no Dan | :21:29. | :21:34.
Gosling against Swansea, a straight red card on his debut but the one | :21:34. | :21:38.
bright spot Demba Ba. He has scored more than half their Premier League | :21:38. | :21:42.
goals this season. That is 11 out of 21. He has to be one of the best | :21:42. | :21:47.
buys by any club this season. a great goal. They will need a few | :21:47. | :21:52.
more signings in January. They have hit a bad patch but the manager is | :21:52. | :21:55.
optimistic You have to remember where we are. We have done | :21:55. | :22:00.
tremendous, you know, I am sure that when you lose a couple of | :22:00. | :22:05.
games like we have there will be oh, the bubble's burst, etc, it is a | :22:05. | :22:09.
bit harsh. Once we get our players back and we have a full squad to | :22:09. | :22:13.
select from we are a very good side. Spl Middlesbrough closed the gap on | :22:13. | :22:17.
Southampton after a good win against Brighton. They would be | :22:17. | :22:22.
third in the league if their goal difference was better. Marvin Emnes | :22:22. | :22:29.
hasn't scored since November 1 but it wasn't going to be his day. | :22:29. | :22:36.
Borrow had the chances. After that, it was pretty much all | :22:36. | :22:39.
Middlesbrough. Scott MacDonald making the most of a mistake from | :22:39. | :22:44.
the Brighton keeper. That is his fifth goal of the season. It still | :22:44. | :22:49.
counts. It wasn't a classic. Borrow kept pushing for a second but they | :22:49. | :22:56.
kept on trying, the ball would not go in. Some terrific efforts. | :22:56. | :23:01.
Worryingly Emnes pulled up with an injury but they held on for three | :23:01. | :23:07.
well deserved points. We would like one more to make the last five, ten | :23:07. | :23:13.
minutes less apprehensive for the supporters. It is tortures a times. | :23:13. | :23:17.
Yet, at the end of the game it's a great relief. In my mind we | :23:17. | :23:21.
deserved to win the match. We did enough to win it. Could have scored | :23:21. | :23:25.
one or two more but the points are all-important, and we are delighted | :23:25. | :23:31.
to get them. I bet they are. In League One a couple of 2-1 score | :23:31. | :23:37.
lines. One good, one not so good. Carlisle didn't look to be head | :23:37. | :23:42.
nierg first win when Scunthorpe took an early lead. The Cumbrians, | :23:42. | :23:46.
had a hoves chances to equalise, hitting the woodwork at least three | :23:46. | :23:54.
times. So what more do you have to do to score? But in the end, they | :23:54. | :23:59.
were rewarded. James Berrett levelling the scores at 1-1 then | :23:59. | :24:02.
Francois Zoko's injury time winner and that lifted Carlisle to seventh | :24:02. | :24:09.
place. Not bad. On their travels and Hartlepool who sacked their | :24:09. | :24:14.
head coach last week. Caretaker Micky Barron knows their away form | :24:14. | :24:19.
is better than home form. Dreadful run at home which probably cost | :24:19. | :24:23.
Mick Wadsworth his job. They went one behind then brought it back | :24:23. | :24:29.
with a nice equaliser there, but what about this? Penalty at the end | :24:29. | :24:33.
for Brentford. Gary Alexander spoiling Micky Barron's first game | :24:33. | :24:37.
in charge, at the second time of asking. Great save by Stuart | :24:37. | :24:41.
Flinders. And that it is. Right. Time for the weather now. It is | :24:41. | :24:44.
getting Parky out there and a bit getting Parky out there and a bit | :24:44. | :24:47.
blustery. The last seven days brought stormy weather. The next | :24:47. | :24:52.
seven don't look quieter. Yes, some, the dramatic weather to come over | :24:52. | :24:57.
the coming few days. We start off with a taste of winter, thanks to | :24:57. | :25:01.
Peter Elliott for that. As we head through the working week, we are in | :25:02. | :25:07.
for wet and windy weather. A taste of winter at times with snow | :25:07. | :25:11.
showing its hand. So as we head into this evening the first weather | :25:11. | :25:16.
warning is a warning of heavy rain and into the night. The ground very | :25:16. | :25:22.
wet, so the Environment Agency have a lot of flood warnings in force in | :25:22. | :25:30.
Cumbria. You can get the latest information on the floodline number. | :25:30. | :25:34.
As we head through this evening the rain spreads quickly across the | :25:34. | :25:40.
region. There will be heavy bursts in among it, and maybe even the odd | :25:40. | :25:44.
rumble of thunder. The rain clears away to leave the second half of | :25:44. | :25:49.
the night a mixture of clear intervals. There will be snow, more | :25:49. | :25:53.
especially up over the high ground of the Pennines. Temperatures dip | :25:53. | :25:58.
down close to freezing. Down one or two so as well some wintry showers, | :25:58. | :26:03.
could havisey patches to contend with. Tomorrow is a cold day, a | :26:03. | :26:08.
windy one, and the warnings change from rain to snow, because as well | :26:08. | :26:10.
as a cold wind there will be freecked frequent showers. There | :26:10. | :26:14.
will be some bright spells but there will be a right old rash of | :26:14. | :26:19.
showers from the west. Any high ground will turn those to sleet and | :26:19. | :26:26.
snow. Might even see slushy wet snow, Newcastle or Middlesbrough | :26:26. | :26:34.
could see a light slushy covering. Temperatures will be A at best. As | :26:34. | :26:38.
we head through the middle part of the week it stays change b. | :26:38. | :26:42.
Tomorrow we might see prolonged spells of snow drifting down | :26:42. | :26:47.
through the early part of the fight. It stays unsettled through | :26:47. | :26:51.
Wednesday. The showers fewer and further between, then we are | :26:51. | :26:58.
keeping an eye on the tail end of the week. Where the centre will be | :26:58. | :27:02.
still in doubt, so that means the wind direction is in doubt. It | :27:02. | :27:06.
looks like a very endy -- windy spell to end the week. After a | :27:06. | :27:10.
showery day, as I say, a fair amount of cloud round on Wednesday | :27:10. | :27:14.
but not as many shower, then the warnings change again to the strong | :27:14. | :27:17.
wind warnings for Thursday and Friday, with that low coming in | :27:17. | :27:20.
from the west. Some windy conditions and wet conditions as | :27:20. | :27:25.
well to end the week. That is your weather. Thank you very much. | :27:25. | :27:30. |
