Production work is expected to resume shortly following a dramatic

fire at a wood processing factory in Northumberland. Firecrews fought

through the night to control the blaze at the Egger plant, the

biggest manufacturing employer in the county. Sharuna Sagar reports.

This was the scene that greeted fire crews as they arrived at

Egger's Weyroc site in Hexham at around 10.30 last night. The blaze

broke out in the energy plant where wood chips are dried and the oil

systems are heated. It was difficult to control because

it was in a large building and they did not want to put crews into that

building for the safety of the firefighters. We have got the fire

from outside. -- we fought. heat was so intense it took more

than six hours before crews could even enter the building. Although

the factory has had a history of fires, the last one was in 2009,

this kind of emergency is considered rare by Northumberland

Fire and Rescue. It is an unusual fire. This type of incident does

not come along a lot. It is quite a tricky fire for us to deal with an

place. The safety systems worked and no one was reported hurt. It's

now time for the investigators to do their job. Fire crews on the

Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. The Northumberland County Show has

got underway at a new and bigger venue. For years, the show has been

held at Corbridge, but now it's been decided to move it a few miles

up the Tyne valley to a much larger site at Bywell, on land owned by

Lord and Lady Allendale. As well as the usual livestock shows and horse

eventing, the crowds were treated to impressive stunts from a

motocross team. It has exceeded everyone's

expectations. It's a natural fit here, it works well on the site.

Everyone has an amazing time and we hope that it will be something that

will develop in the future. We hope to grow with the show and maybe

expand. And keep attracting big crowds.

Paloma Faith will be closing Evolution, Tyneside's biggest music
