Welcome to Friday's Look North. In tonight's headlines — Work to clean | :00:18. | :00:22.
up Sellafield will continue under the management team accused of | :00:22. | :00:25.
wasting millions of pounds of taxpayers' money. | :00:25. | :00:27.
Derby day disorder. It's revealed a 15—year—old who took part had been | :00:27. | :00:31.
drinking at a bar owned by Newcastle United. | :00:31. | :00:32.
A warning that European restrictions over e—cigarettes could make smokers | :00:32. | :00:35.
return to their old habits. And a Teesside comedian and actor | :00:35. | :00:39.
prepares to take to the floor to stay in Strictly Come Dancing. I | :00:39. | :00:44.
think my little one will be upset if I get some bad comments, but it | :00:44. | :00:49.
should be OK. In sport — more honours for Durham's | :00:49. | :00:52.
Championship winning cricketers. And we look ahead to a tough weekend for | :00:52. | :00:56.
our Premier League bosses — could Ball still be in charge next week? | :00:56. | :01:08.
The private partnership which runs the Sellafield site in West Cumbria | :01:08. | :01:12.
had its contract renewed today despite widespread criticism of its | :01:12. | :01:15.
performance in the past. Nuclear Management Partners, which is made | :01:15. | :01:18.
up of French, American and British companies, is tasked with | :01:18. | :01:21.
decommissioning the site, a job that will cost an estimated £67.5 | :01:21. | :01:29.
billion. The group, which first won the contract to run Sellafield back | :01:29. | :01:33.
in 2008, will now stay in charge for another five years. Megan Paterson | :01:33. | :01:38.
sent us this report. 70% of the country's most hazardous | :01:38. | :01:41.
nuclear waste is stored here at Sellafield, and the contract to | :01:41. | :01:45.
clean this site up is worth billions of pounds. It'll stay with Nuclear | :01:45. | :01:49.
Management Partners, but improvements must be made. We've | :01:49. | :02:00.
decided that extending into a second five—year term was the best decision | :02:00. | :02:04.
at this time. It was the best opportunity to allow the improvement | :02:04. | :02:07.
programme that has been put in place to educate cold. Sanctions have been | :02:07. | :02:11.
imposed and they will continue be imposed. We will absolutely take | :02:11. | :02:17.
sanctions against poor performance. The Government hoped introducing | :02:17. | :02:19.
private sector expertise in Sellafield's operation would improve | :02:20. | :02:22.
the running of the site. But earlier this year the Public Affairs | :02:23. | :02:25.
Committee heavily criticised NMP for failing to deliver value for money | :02:25. | :02:31.
and for delay in completing work. Unions also raised concern about | :02:31. | :02:36.
communications with the consortium. They hope that will improve. It is | :02:36. | :02:42.
all about the future for us. But there are issues. We cannot deny | :02:42. | :02:46.
that. We have had issues with the major project on the Sellafield | :02:46. | :02:50.
site. We will need to see improvements in the future. At the | :02:50. | :02:56.
end of the day, we are still dealing with the same organisation. Only | :02:56. | :03:00.
time will tell. Craig and around 10,000 others work at the site — | :03:00. | :03:04.
it's crucial for the local economy but there's some doubt that | :03:04. | :03:06.
community investment by the management partners has reached | :03:06. | :03:14.
expectations. If they want to turn the page, if they want to be gained | :03:14. | :03:19.
the support of this community, it has got to do what it promised it | :03:19. | :03:23.
would do. I would like to see some of these investments. Let's stop | :03:23. | :03:28.
decisions about Zumbathon being made 5000 miles away in the United | :03:28. | :03:34.
States. —— Sellafield. We want to see a prosperous future this area. | :03:34. | :03:38.
Progress on the site will be reviewed before the end of the year. | :03:38. | :03:42.
NMP's chairman says the group is well placed to make improvements and | :03:42. | :03:45.
to take on challenges — the hope here is the next five years will be | :03:45. | :03:47.
brighter than the last. It's a match that a 50 new role by | :03:47. | :04:09.
who took part following the time/we're Derby —— Tyne—we're was | :04:09. | :04:19.
sinking in a bar owned by Newcastle United. | :04:19. | :04:24.
Derby day in April this year, and the police moved swiftly to prevent | :04:24. | :04:28.
a full—scale riot. Troublemakers are identified and it is clear that | :04:29. | :04:32.
many, if not most of those arrested, have been drinking. We now know that | :04:33. | :04:37.
among those was a 15—year—old who had been drinking right here at St | :04:37. | :04:43.
James's Palace. The judge said this was a matter of grave concern, that | :04:43. | :04:47.
a young person to be jinking here when trouble was expected right | :04:47. | :04:54.
opposite —— drinking. He said he hoped his comments to be noted by | :04:54. | :05:00.
the owners. And the people who own it by Newcastle United football | :05:00. | :05:04.
club. It is a major embarrassment. After leaving here, the boy, and | :05:04. | :05:10.
Newcastle fan, was seen throwing bottles and trying to confront | :05:10. | :05:12.
Sunderland supporters. Two other boys were given six and eight months | :05:12. | :05:17.
detention and training orders will stop the 15 you're old admitted | :05:17. | :05:23.
violent disorder. The youth offender panel will now work with him to try | :05:23. | :05:27.
to improve his behaviour. What particularly concerned the judge was | :05:27. | :05:31.
that the 50 told him that nobody here checked his age and nobody | :05:31. | :05:36.
checked if he had ID. The club has failed to comment, but Northumbria | :05:36. | :05:40.
Police say they will be making further enquiries. | :05:40. | :05:49.
Over 20% of us still smoke in the North East, but increasingly | :05:49. | :05:54.
ex—smokers are turning to e—cigarettes. They produce vapour — | :05:54. | :05:58.
not smoke — and you can use them in places like bars and restaurants. | :05:58. | :06:00.
But next week, the European Parliament will vote on new | :06:00. | :06:02.
regulations for e—cigarettes, officially classifying them as | :06:02. | :06:05.
medicines. And one Euro MP says that'll simply drive people back to | :06:05. | :06:08.
smoking. Here's our Political Correspondent, Mark Denten. | :06:08. | :06:12.
It is a sight you don't see today. People smoking in a pub. But this is | :06:12. | :06:17.
today and it is absolutely legal. Add it up and astonishingly this | :06:17. | :06:20.
small group smoked cigarettes for a total of 170 years. Today they are | :06:20. | :06:27.
still smoking, but these are e—cigarettes. I breathe more easily, | :06:27. | :06:36.
certainly. I have got my sense of smell back. My wife tells me my | :06:36. | :06:41.
complexion is much nicer these days. I wouldn't care to comment on that. | :06:41. | :06:49.
I started this and five days later, I wasn't thinking of cigarettes at | :06:49. | :06:53.
all. It was that quick. E—cigarettes do contain nicotine. They produce | :06:53. | :06:58.
vapour rather than smoke. It's thought 1.3 million people in | :06:58. | :07:02.
Britain use them. But health campaigners say new restrictions are | :07:02. | :07:04.
needed. If new restrictions on e—cigarettes are agreed by the | :07:04. | :07:07.
European Parliament on Tuesday they could be introduced by 2016. People | :07:07. | :07:14.
here think that could lead to new restrictions. If they be classified | :07:14. | :07:21.
as a medicine, I would immediately need to be looking at taking action | :07:21. | :07:26.
next October as much as I possibly can. I don't want to go back, but if | :07:26. | :07:30.
I have to, I would have to go back down the smoking Brit. These | :07:30. | :07:36.
proposals would involve them being more tightly regulated, subject to | :07:36. | :07:42.
approval. My worry is that this will drive them underground and make it | :07:42. | :07:45.
more difficult for more smokers to get them, and make them less widely | :07:45. | :07:48.
available than conventional cigarettes and I think that would be | :07:48. | :07:53.
a mistake. But health campaigners seek new restrictions are needed. At | :07:53. | :07:58.
the moment they are not regulated at all. A smoker can buy them and there | :07:58. | :08:03.
may not even be nicotine in them, and others could have high levels. | :08:03. | :08:07.
But nicotine is still a toxic chemical, so let's put them under | :08:07. | :08:12.
regulation like other nicotine products. If the new regulations are | :08:12. | :08:18.
agreed by the European Parliament on Tuesday, they could be into just by | :08:18. | :08:22.
2016. —— introduced. And you can have your say on this | :08:22. | :08:26.
story on the Look North Facebook page. The address is on your screen | :08:26. | :08:33.
now. A lorry driver has been sentenced to | :08:33. | :08:36.
18 months in prison after being found guilty of causing the deaths | :08:36. | :08:42.
of two soldiers by dangerous driving. Colin Paterson, seen here, | :08:42. | :08:47.
was cleared of the more serious charge of death by dangerous | :08:47. | :08:49.
driving. The accident took place last year. A 40 old soldier and a | :08:49. | :08:55.
23—year—old soldier died when their army Land Rover was hit by | :08:55. | :09:03.
Paterson's HGV. A County Durham man has been ordered | :09:03. | :09:09.
back to prison after having his sentenced increase from 18 months to | :09:10. | :09:14.
five years. He was found with a pistol and ammunition. The Attorney | :09:14. | :09:17.
General referred the case to the Court of Appeal under the Unduly | :09:17. | :09:28.
Lenient Sentence Given. Conservative Lord Howell caused | :09:28. | :09:30.
outrage when he suggested the "desolate" North East could be the | :09:30. | :09:34.
right place for fracking. But it seems hydraulic fracturing is a | :09:34. | :09:36.
possibility in our region. Companies already have rights to explore for | :09:36. | :09:40.
the shale gas that fracking could unlock. Some think it could provide | :09:40. | :09:43.
jobs and cheap energy, but others fear environmental disaster. Our | :09:43. | :09:45.
Political Editor Richard Moss reports. | :09:45. | :09:47.
The North East has plenty of former coal fields, but actually this is | :09:47. | :09:50.
the most likely location for fracking — the North York Moors. | :09:50. | :09:54.
There are 11 licences to look for gas in the Thirsk and Malton | :09:54. | :09:57.
constituency. But its MP doesn't seem to be as keen on fracking as | :09:57. | :10:02.
some of her Conservative colleagues. I take the approach that those that | :10:02. | :10:07.
are recommending fracking as being the next dash for gas probably don't | :10:07. | :10:12.
have fracking possibilities in their constituencies. I do believe there | :10:12. | :10:15.
are very serious environmental issues and I don't believe that the | :10:15. | :10:18.
countryside will be left in the same state it currently is in. I think | :10:18. | :10:22.
the beauty of the countryside, to me, is absolutely paramount. And | :10:22. | :10:27.
others are worried too. This is part of a growing band of anti—fracking | :10:27. | :10:30.
protesters in the north. They say they're not eco—warriors, but just | :10:30. | :10:33.
ordinary people who've done their research. We've looked at what has | :10:33. | :10:39.
happened in the USA, Canada, Australia, and it has been and | :10:39. | :10:45.
unmitigated environmental disaster. It affects people 's health, it | :10:45. | :10:49.
affects the food chain, it affects the water. We don't feel there has | :10:49. | :10:54.
been enough research into this before it goes ahead. But the | :10:54. | :10:57.
industry and the Government believe those concerns are unfounded. And | :10:57. | :11:00.
one academic expert says the more dramatic claims don't stand up to | :11:00. | :11:06.
scrutiny. There isn't any evidence to support fracking itself causing | :11:06. | :11:11.
pollution of water supplies. It is not fracking we need to be concerned | :11:11. | :11:14.
about. It is all of the other processes, spillages, and the well | :11:14. | :11:19.
is that the drill that need to be sealed properly. Fracking itself, | :11:19. | :11:23.
the cracking of rock underground, almost certainly does not cause | :11:23. | :11:26.
water contamination. As yet there are no planning applications to | :11:26. | :11:29.
frack in the north, but if the Government remains keen on the idea, | :11:29. | :11:33.
it does seem we could be part of a new dash for gas. | :11:33. | :11:36.
And there'll be more about fracking on this weekend's Sunday Politics at | :11:36. | :11:42.
11am on BBC One. Every year about 50,000 people in | :11:42. | :11:45.
the UK are told they have breast cancer. It's the world's most common | :11:45. | :11:51.
cancer in women. Well this month is National Breast Cancer Awareness | :11:51. | :11:54.
Month, and one of the people backing the campaign is singer Michelle | :11:54. | :11:58.
Heaton from Gateshead. It's a cause which is very close to her heart and | :11:58. | :12:02.
tonight she's hosting a Zumbathon in Newcastle. | :12:02. | :12:09.
So you out there tonight in Newcastle by the name back there —— | :12:09. | :12:17.
Zumbathon there... Yes, I have been involved in Manchester, Newcastle, | :12:17. | :12:19.
and I am in Glasgow tomorrow personally. There are thousands | :12:19. | :12:27.
around the UK. For those people who don't know, you have a very personal | :12:27. | :12:33.
reason for raising awareness. Last year added my own thing to prevent | :12:33. | :12:38.
breast cancer. I was diagnosed with the gene that gives me an 85% risk | :12:38. | :12:43.
of breast cancer and in November I decided to do this exhibition to | :12:43. | :12:48.
prevent that risk being so high. I did that pretty quickly. The risks | :12:48. | :12:55.
were so high. I was under the impression that I didn't want to | :12:55. | :13:00.
wait for cancer to get me, I wanted to get it fast. So that was my | :13:00. | :13:06.
fight. That was last year. You had a baby, you had a double mastectomy, | :13:06. | :13:10.
you are pregnant again. Don't you feel exhausted? I have to admit, I'm | :13:10. | :13:17.
getting close to being exhausted! I am just so excited to be involved. | :13:17. | :13:20.
Last year when I went through, I knew about the gene before October, | :13:20. | :13:28.
and October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There were so many | :13:28. | :13:32.
charities and different organisations there for me, so this | :13:32. | :13:37.
is the least I could do. I hesitate to say it was part of your identity, | :13:38. | :13:41.
but you are glamorous woman and it must have been difficult to make | :13:41. | :13:46.
that decision. Do you know what, it was such an easy decision. It was | :13:46. | :13:52.
one of the easiest things I've ever done. When you are faced with such a | :13:52. | :13:59.
high risk and you have just had a baby and you are married and you | :13:59. | :14:02.
want to have more children and be done for your family, why did you | :14:02. | :14:05.
have this dark cloud over your head and over your family's Ed? But you | :14:05. | :14:10.
are doing something really positive now. It is quite something. It is | :14:10. | :14:17.
very high energy and great fun. I think the great thing about it is | :14:17. | :14:21.
that in the month of October, if you did come to a Zumbathon as a way | :14:21. | :14:24.
in, you will soon get attached to the dancing. I might see you there, | :14:24. | :14:34.
then! Please do. My word! Michelle, all of the best you. Thank you. | :14:35. | :14:44.
If you need cheering up after all this rain, you could probably do | :14:44. | :14:48.
worse than head for the Quayside in Gateshead this weekend. Some big | :14:48. | :14:51.
names are lined up at the Jesterval comedy festival on Baltic Square, | :14:51. | :14:53.
including Marcus Brigstocke and Ed Byrne. But there's plenty of local | :14:54. | :14:57.
talent — tonight it's Geordie Gala Night and tomorrow it's the turn of | :14:57. | :15:01.
the Sunderland Psychic, as Damian O'Neil reports. ??NEWLIN If this is | :15:01. | :15:05.
the first you've heard of the Jesterval festival, it's because | :15:05. | :15:08.
it's all a bit low—key and there's not a huge advertising budget, but | :15:08. | :15:12.
that doesn't mean it's just a tent full of nobodies. I'm hosting the | :15:12. | :15:20.
Gallatin, Bobby Patterson will be on. He is a fantastic north—east | :15:20. | :15:28.
comic. And then later tonight we have Ed Byrne. And then on Saturday | :15:28. | :15:33.
I have my own show. There is a website, go and check it out. Jason | :15:33. | :15:39.
Cook, creator of the hit TV series Hebburn, is one of the acts in a | :15:39. | :15:43.
line—up that wouldn't look out of place at any comedy club. Hebburn, | :15:43. | :15:47.
now in its second series, will be recognisable to a lot of people but | :15:47. | :15:50.
Jesterval is about showing there's a lot more coming out of the | :15:50. | :15:52.
North—East's comedy circuit. Geordies are quite popular at the | :15:52. | :15:55.
moment. Ross Noble has always been a legend. He's not a Geordie. Oh, come | :15:55. | :16:05.
on, he's a Geordie. He's like our Andy Murray. Do you know you look | :16:05. | :16:14.
dangerously like Barry? I try to do that. Tomorrow is Marilyn Monroe | :16:14. | :16:21.
day. Do you drive a Dodge Charger? I will! I will net clung on the | :16:21. | :16:25.
quayside, just to keep up with the Geordie spirit. If you're watching | :16:25. | :16:29.
this you've just missed the start of the first show but there's still | :16:29. | :16:33.
time to get to the Geordie Gala and to see Mickey Hutton and Ed Byrne | :16:33. | :16:41.
among others at the late show. I don't know about the Sunderland side | :16:41. | :16:45.
kick, but I predict there will be some football in the sport tonight. | :16:45. | :16:47.
Well done! Newcastle pay their first top—flight | :16:47. | :16:50.
visit to Cardiff in over half a century tomorrow. The Magpies are | :16:50. | :16:53.
looking to bounce back after successive league defeats, whilst | :16:53. | :16:56.
Cardiff go into the match on the back of an impressive win at Fulham. | :16:56. | :16:58.
Andrew Hartley reports. Alan Pardew described his team's | :16:58. | :17:01.
performance in Monday's 3—2 defeat by Everton, as unacceptable. The | :17:01. | :17:06.
Magpies were comprehensively outplayed in the first half at | :17:06. | :17:09.
Goodison Park before restoring some pride with two goals after the | :17:09. | :17:13.
break. But they could not avoid going down to a second straight | :17:13. | :17:16.
league loss — and are currently ranked a lowly 16th in the table. | :17:16. | :17:20.
Rumours persisted earlier in the week that Pardew was on the verge of | :17:20. | :17:24.
being dismissed but he has insisted it remains business as usual as he | :17:24. | :17:27.
focuses on reviving the fortunes of his team. We have got to make sure | :17:27. | :17:35.
that we are tighter as a team, that we work as a unit and that we work | :17:36. | :17:40.
as one. If we can do that they may have got goals, and that is the only | :17:40. | :17:43.
real thing I am leaning on this year. We are looking at the | :17:43. | :17:48.
difference in as between the back end of last year. Trust me, the | :17:48. | :17:51.
hardest thing in the Premier League scoring goals. Cardiff can also | :17:52. | :17:55.
claim to know where the back of the net is — and they're are expected to | :17:55. | :17:59.
be unchanged from the team that won at Fulham last time out. Newcastle | :17:59. | :18:02.
have no fresh injury worries ahead of the game, and welcome back their | :18:02. | :18:05.
Argentinian midfielder Jonas Gutteriez who's not played since the | :18:05. | :18:08.
opening match of the season because of a hamstring injury. | :18:08. | :18:12.
Caretaker boss Kevin Ball takes charge again this weekend as | :18:12. | :18:15.
Sunderland take on Manchester United in tomorrow's early evening | :18:15. | :18:19.
kick—off. The Black Cats are still bottom of the Premier League but | :18:19. | :18:22.
might have their best chance yet of beating the Manchester giants who've | :18:22. | :18:28.
had their worst start for 24 years. The last time Kevin Ball was | :18:28. | :18:31.
Sunderland's caretaker boss he came away with a point against Man Utd — | :18:31. | :18:35.
no doubt fans would settle for that this time around. But after winning | :18:35. | :18:38.
just three league games under David Moyes and losing their last two many | :18:38. | :18:41.
will feel there's never been a better time to play United. But | :18:41. | :18:45.
Kevin's not playing ball on that one. What Manchester United have | :18:45. | :18:51.
done or doing is nothing to do with me. All I am concerned with is what | :18:51. | :18:58.
we do. Whatever Manchester United have to do, I am sure they will do | :18:58. | :19:02.
it in time. It's thought Sunderland owner Ellis Short will appoint a new | :19:02. | :19:05.
boss during next week's international break — a result | :19:05. | :19:08.
against Man Utd might swing the pendulum in Ball's favour although | :19:08. | :19:11.
he's still had no formal interview for the job. And while his focus is | :19:11. | :19:15.
tomorrow's game, like the fans, he'd like to know what's happening sooner | :19:15. | :19:18.
rather than later. I am literally seriously just thinking, forget all | :19:18. | :19:22.
about everything and just concentrate on Saturday's game. I | :19:22. | :19:27.
will take the opportunity then to speak with the board and find out | :19:27. | :19:30.
what is happening going forward. That will be the right time. We have | :19:30. | :19:34.
got training to plan next week as well. We have to be aware of that. | :19:34. | :19:39.
There are scheduled to be sorted out and I need to be knowing who is | :19:39. | :19:44.
going to do that. That is why I said so tight Saturday, then look at the | :19:45. | :19:48.
future. And from five o'clock you can hear commentary on Sunderland v | :19:48. | :19:51.
Manchester United with Nick Barnes and Gary Bennett. | :19:51. | :19:56.

In the Championship Middlesbrough are just four points above the | :19:59. | :20:03.
relegation zone and need a win at home to third bottom Yeovil to ease | :20:03. | :20:06.
pressure on Tony Mowbray. Carlisle, who've won their last three games | :20:06. | :20:09.
under new manager Graham Kavanagh, could jump up to 11th in League One | :20:09. | :20:14.
if they beat Shrewsbury. And in League Two strugglers Hartlepool | :20:14. | :20:17.
have a tough test away at third place Mansfield while York make the | :20:17. | :20:21.
long trek to Torquay. Two of Durham's cricketers picked up | :20:21. | :20:25.
national awards last night on the back of club honours this week. | :20:25. | :20:28.
Ashes—bound all—rounder Ben Stokes was named Young Player of the Year | :20:28. | :20:31.
by the Professional Cricketers Association. While his team—mate, | :20:31. | :20:35.
Graham Onions, won the County Championship Player of the Year | :20:35. | :20:39.
award after taking 70 wickets. Meanwhile Durham captain Paul | :20:39. | :20:41.
Collingwood says next season could be his last as a player. The former | :20:42. | :20:46.
England one—day and T20 skipper will coach Scotland this winter as he | :20:46. | :20:54.
looks to the future off the field. Scotland have to qualify for the | :20:55. | :21:02.
World Cup and the one at home, so a lot to do. One month in Dubai and | :21:02. | :21:07.
one month in New Zealand. To me it is a great opportunity. I have got | :21:07. | :21:10.
to look at different avenues for what I want to do further down the | :21:10. | :21:18.
line. I will be 38 next season, so it probably will be time to hang the | :21:18. | :21:21.
bits up and stop but you never know what will happen. We will wait and | :21:21. | :21:26.
see how the year goes, C had the body is responding. | :21:26. | :21:29.
In Rugby Union's Premiership Newcastle Falcons have a huge game | :21:29. | :21:32.
away at bottom side Worcester. The Falcons, who narrowly lost to | :21:32. | :21:35.
Gloucester last weekend, could drop into the bottom spot if they come | :21:35. | :21:38.
away from Sixways empty handed — it's proved an unhappy hunting | :21:38. | :21:42.
ground in the past. And thousands are heading up to | :21:42. | :21:45.
Kielder in Northumberland for the Run Bike Run event tomorrow and the | :21:45. | :21:48.
fourth Kielder Marathon on Sunday — and so far the weather's set fair! | :21:48. | :21:56.
So far. He describes himself as an unlikely | :21:56. | :22:00.
dancer. Not many big men from Grangetown near Middlesbrough, he | :22:00. | :22:03.
says, are known for their tango and salsa skills. But Teesside actor | :22:03. | :22:07.
Mark Benton has already wowed the judges in this year's Strictly Come | :22:07. | :22:10.
Dancing. This weekend it gets serious as the first competitors are | :22:10. | :22:15.
voted off the programme. Our reporter Stuart Whincup was allowed | :22:15. | :22:18.
behind the scenes at Strictly and caught up with Mark and his partner. | :22:18. | :22:28.
When I stood by that little screen for the tangle, I was just | :22:28. | :22:35.
petrified. There are so many things going through your head. It was all | :22:35. | :22:41.
a blur, really. It's a whirlwind, and then before you know it, you | :22:41. | :22:51.
are. —— you are off. My partner is great. "Left, Right, left. Have fun. | :22:51. | :23:01.
Have fun!" She's great. From Waterloo Road, Dr Who and | :23:01. | :23:04.
Hustle, Mark's used to big primetime productions — but nothing like this. | :23:04. | :23:09.
Now surrounded by pop stars, models, glitz and glamour, you have to ask, | :23:09. | :23:19.
why did he sign up for Strictly? I have asked myself that many times. I | :23:19. | :23:24.
think it was a few things, really. I have always steered clear of reality | :23:25. | :23:30.
television because I am a bit shy about the celebrity part of all. I | :23:30. | :23:38.
just stop, why not, have a go. Also, you have to learn to do something. | :23:38. | :23:44.
Mark is partnered by the Lithuanian world champion. He is a really, | :23:44. | :23:52.
really funny guy. No matter what had hit him, he tries and does it, he | :23:52. | :24:00.
never complains. He says, OK, I will do it. It is a pleasure working with | :24:00. | :24:06.
them. I have really enjoyed it. But I be ready for the judges? —— are | :24:06. | :24:18.
ready. Craig... His comments, it's all part of the programme. I think I | :24:18. | :24:27.
will just take it on the chin. After all of that time training together, | :24:27. | :24:30.
they are actually beginning to sound like each other. Hi, my name is Mark | :24:30. | :24:39.
Benton. I am an actor. This is my tangle face. She is now a fully | :24:39. | :24:55.
fledged football fan. There you go. I have not introduced to | :24:55. | :25:00.
Middlesbrough pies yet. What's that? A delicacy. Already, the | :25:00. | :25:09.
outsiders have become unlikely challengers. | :25:09. | :25:17.
Well, when he is not eating pies, he is the voice of ABC radio Tees and | :25:17. | :25:23.
will be on their morning show every morning during Wrigley. Is it going | :25:23. | :25:32.
to be nice this weekend? Yes, it is! It took this photographer all | :25:32. | :25:41.
summer to get this beautiful long exposure shot of the sun as it rose | :25:41. | :25:46.
and set from June to October over the skies in Newcastle. It shows | :25:47. | :25:50.
what a great summer we had. And there will be more warm sunshine | :25:50. | :25:55.
over the weekend, settling with some sunshine on Saturday. This evening, | :25:55. | :26:01.
the rain finally clears away. It will stay quite cloudy in the West | :26:01. | :26:06.
and it will be mild. Temperatures will be low, around 11 degrees. I'll | :26:06. | :26:12.
start to Saturday and increasingly, a sunny day to come, especially | :26:12. | :26:17.
across North Yorkshire and the north—east. A little bit cloudy at | :26:17. | :26:21.
times, possibly up here as well, but some brightness should break through | :26:21. | :26:26.
as well. Do tomorrow afternoon, it is likely that it is going to be the | :26:26. | :26:32.
most sunny in North Yorkshire. 17 degrees possible, feeling very | :26:32. | :26:37.
pleasant. Mostly light winds, and as we go north and west, it is settled | :26:37. | :26:41.
as well, average of high pressure keeping the weather pleasant. So, | :26:41. | :26:46.
across the region, it stays dry through Saturday, things will be | :26:46. | :26:52.
starry overnight, but then increasingly cloudy on Sunday, | :26:52. | :26:54.
especially in Cumbria, with outbreaks of drizzle. Possibly | :26:54. | :27:01.
heavier rainfall on Monday as low pressure takes over from high. A | :27:01. | :27:06.
bright weekend across much of the north—east, a little bit cloudy on | :27:06. | :27:10.
Monday, but it stays dry. And notice the temperatures. It is mild for | :27:10. | :27:15.
this time in early October. 18 Celsius, 64 in Fahrenheit. Starry | :27:15. | :27:20.
skies tomorrow, so if you like to take advantage of them, head to | :27:20. | :27:26.
Morpeth for the Astronomy Open Mind. The conditions could not be better, | :27:27. | :27:31.
light and clear with low wins for all of those stargazers. | :27:31. | :27:34.
light and clear with low wins for Thank you. That is all from Look | :27:34. | :27:38.
North today. We'll be back at half—past ten for our late bulletin. | :27:38. | :27:40.
Have a great weekend! | :27:40. | :27:45. |
