Tributes have been paid for the former Middlesbrough

and England footballer, Ugo Ehiogu, has died.

He was 44 and suffered a cardiac arrest.

Boro chairman and owner, Steve Gibson, said Ehiogu was

"one of our heroes" for the part he played in helping the club

win its first major honour - the Carling Cup - in 2004.

He collapsed yesterday, while on the training ground

It was Boro's finest hour and just one of the reasons that Ugo Ehiogu
