A man's appeared in court charged with the murder of Craig Eade,

whose body was found in a Wheelie bin in Gateshead.

And this afternoon police said they have arrested

a 30-year-old man on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

Officers were called to this back lane in Gateshead on Wednesday.

This morning Paul Watkins, who's 36 and from Northbourne Street,

appeared before magistrates here at Newcastle Crown Court.

He was charged with murdering Craig Eade between Sunday and Tuesday.

to confirm his name, age and address.

Mr Watkins was also charged with carrying out

He's also accused of theft and fraud in December of last year.

He was remanded in custody and will next appear in court

This afternoon Northumbria Police said they had arrested a second man

An investigation is underway after a woman in her 30s was raped

Union leaders have raised concerns after assaults on staff at two

Teesside hospitals doubled in the past six years.

The North Tees and Hartlepool Trust say 179 assaults

Health managers say it refers every case where the assaults are deemed

Hartlepool but in the last six years the number of assaults has more than

they are compassionate and there to help people in the last thing they

want is somebody attacking them in the workplace. The North Tees and

Hartlepool trust says it treats every assault very seriously but it

says the majority are deemed non-intentional, that is they are

committed by people with mental health problems and dementia. Of the

179 assaults only 18 were referred to the police. The trust says it

offers its staff conflict resolution training and it says some abusive

patients have had their access to hospital services restricted because

of their violent behaviour. Around 500 people turned out

Hello. I could have put almost anything in this sphere today such

was the variety. Some of you saw showers but the cloud is sitting

lower in the atmosphere. It was nice enough this morning across the

Midlands, not just here in Birmingham, but in that slot, it

filled in disappointingly, the showers were always there in Wales

and the South West and they crept further into the yeast, and further

into the North. All of that is driven by this low pressure, we have

had wind rain and snow in Scotland which becomes confined to the

Shetland Islands overnight making room for another band of weather in

the South West and in between, a touch of frost and perhaps a bit of
