on in the programme. Hello and welcome to the programme. | :01:00. | :01:03.
A lorry driver is still being questioned on suspicion of causing | :01:03. | :01:08.
death by dangerous driving after an accident which killed a West | :01:08. | :01:11.
Yorkshire policeman yesterday. 41- year-old PC Mark Goodlad was hit by | :01:11. | :01:15.
the lorry as he helped a motorist on the hard shoulder of the M1 near | :01:15. | :01:19.
Wakefield. Today his Chief Constable paid tribute to his | :01:19. | :01:25.
officer and spoke of the dangers faced by police and motored days -- | :01:25. | :01:29.
motorways. We have two reports. John Cundy is overlooking the scene | :01:29. | :01:35.
of the accident. What can you tell This time last night, the section | :01:35. | :01:39.
of the M1 in West Yorkshire was silent and empty. Tonight, a normal | :01:40. | :01:44.
flowing motorway. It was shut completely just after four o'clock | :01:44. | :01:48.
yesterday afternoon after the death of PC Mark Goodlad. Today the | :01:48. | :01:58.
floral tributes are beginning to gather at the. Where he died. A | :01:58. | :02:02.
very sad and community for a man who had been serving the police for | :02:02. | :02:10.
10 years. Almost hidden from public sight, | :02:10. | :02:17.
the lorry that head PC Mark Goodlad yesterday. As he was tried to help | :02:17. | :02:23.
the motorist in distress. A tragedy which has left his colleagues tried | :02:23. | :02:31.
to come to terms with. Mark is a stellar traffic officer. He paid | :02:31. | :02:37.
the ultimate sacrifice last night. He was a married man. Our thoughts | :02:37. | :02:42.
and so that they have gone out to his wife. He was a dad. The fatal | :02:42. | :02:46.
crash happened just after four o'clock yesterday afternoon on the | :02:47. | :02:52.
M1 south of Wakefield, close to junction 39. The inquiry into | :02:52. | :02:58.
yesterday's tragedy at this spot will take a considerable time. But | :02:58. | :03:04.
what caught -- cause the lorry to crash and to PC Mark Goodlad as he | :03:04. | :03:08.
was working on the hard shoulder of the southbound carriageway trying | :03:08. | :03:12.
to fix a broken down car fire is stranded motorist? | :03:12. | :03:17.
A woman driver of the car was thrown clear in the impact. The | :03:17. | :03:22.
lorry driver escaped injury. Motorway patrol is a dangerous | :03:22. | :03:27.
place to do policing. We need to think and remember the officers, | :03:27. | :03:33.
his colleagues, that have got to cope with the loss of a friend. | :03:33. | :03:38.
They have got to deal with the incident themselves. PC Mark | :03:38. | :03:41.
Goodlad is the 4th West Yorkshire Police officer to be killed in the | :03:41. | :03:46.
last eight years. Most people are devastated. He was a committed | :03:46. | :03:50.
individual. He would have seen that Lady and realised she was in need | :03:50. | :03:55.
of help. He would have pulled over and tried to make sure that she was | :03:55. | :03:59.
not in danger. It is a sad day that as a result he has paid the | :03:59. | :04:05.
ultimate price. The M1 was fully reopened early -- only after | :04:05. | :04:11.
several hours. But few signs today of yesterday's horrific accident. | :04:11. | :04:15.
Tonight police have issued two numbers that any potential | :04:15. | :04:20.
witnesses could contact Lamont. They should be on your screen now. | :04:20. | :04:30.
:04:30. | :04:34. | ||
-- contact them on. There is the main police switchboard as well. If | :04:34. | :04:38.
you're passing this way around a quarter past for yesterday | :04:38. | :04:42.
afternoon, you may have vital information they can help police | :04:42. | :04:47.
solve this terrible tragic incident. Thank you very much. PC Mark | :04:47. | :04:51.
Goodlad is not the first person to be killed on the hard shoulder and | :04:51. | :04:55.
figure shock it is one of the most dangerous places to be on the | :04:55. | :04:58.
motorway. Nevertheless, hundreds of people have to work there every day, | :04:58. | :05:02.
not just bullies but breakdown mechanics and Highways staff. Danny | :05:02. | :05:06.
Carpenter reports on the dangers they all face. | :05:06. | :05:11.
It is part of the job. Patrolling the motorway, looking for trouble. | :05:11. | :05:17.
In this case, tyre trouble. lady has had a blow-out. Her wheel | :05:17. | :05:23.
is here on the main carriageway. We need to get that moved as soon as | :05:23. | :05:33.
:05:33. | :05:33. | ||
possible. We need to get out. sergeant and his partner art in | :05:34. | :05:37.
South Yorkshire Police. Like everybody who works on the motorway, | :05:37. | :05:43.
they have to be constantly aware of the dangers and act accordingly. | :05:43. | :05:46.
has gone to the passenger side of the vehicle to talk to the driver. | :05:46. | :05:50.
He is looking past the people and I am always checking the murders for | :05:50. | :05:54.
anything that might be happening behind us. Residents on the hard | :05:55. | :06:00.
shoulder are comparatively rare. In the last five years, they accounted | :06:00. | :06:05.
for just 1.6% of the total number of motorway accidents. But they are | :06:05. | :06:10.
comparatively serious. 31% resulted in death or serious injury. In | :06:11. | :06:16.
accidents on other parts of the motorway, that figure is 12%. Which | :06:16. | :06:22.
is why safety is has taken -- is taken so seriously. The utmost | :06:22. | :06:28.
priority is safety. You do not have to be on the motorway or out of the | :06:28. | :06:33.
vehicle for very long to realise it is it dangerous situation and you | :06:33. | :06:37.
switch on very quickly. Mechanics from motoring organisations receive | :06:37. | :06:41.
similar training to the police. They are all too aware of the | :06:41. | :06:46.
dangers. Even taking absolutely the best safety precautions possible, | :06:46. | :06:53.
it can happen because you cannot build in what is going to happen | :06:53. | :06:57.
with an accident. You cannot help it. Motoring organisations and the | :06:57. | :07:02.
police now consider that they had sold up is such a dangerous place | :07:02. | :07:07.
that their advice is that if you do break down, get out of the car on | :07:07. | :07:11.
the left-hand side, cross the barrier and got the verge. -- the | :07:11. | :07:15.
hard shoulder. But for those looking to help, that is not an | :07:15. | :07:20.
option. They know the risks and choose to take them. It is their | :07:20. | :07:26.
job. Thank you. Not surprisingly, thos | :07:26. | :07:31.
and sentiments echoed throughout the day by lots of day -- was of | :07:31. | :07:35.
people. The former head of the Metropolitan Police called for | :07:35. | :07:42.
people to tweeted general salute to PC Mark Goodlad. Mickey Le-Walpole | :07:42. | :07:47.
wrote, as a retired policeman, I know the daily dangers of the job. | :07:47. | :07:52.
What a cruel way to lose a life. Jan Thomson described Mark as one | :07:52. | :08:00.
of her finest. As sentiments shared by the whole of South Yorkshire. | :08:00. | :08:04.
Coming up: Called to account. After last night's story about massive | :08:04. | :08:11.
utility bills, you have been in touch with your own tails. -- | :08:11. | :08:15.
stories. First, traders say plans by a local | :08:15. | :08:20.
council to move out of town and sell its offices to a supermarket | :08:20. | :08:24.
could finish them off. Bolsover Council wants to move its staff to | :08:24. | :08:28.
a new site in the village of Clowne and sell its current building to | :08:28. | :08:34.
Morrisons. Bolsover, a market town with every | :08:34. | :08:39.
street lined with independent traders. So plans to turn a nearby | :08:39. | :08:44.
council building into a supermarket chain have not gone down well. | :08:44. | :08:49.
into their car and do the shop. As far as I'm concerned, it is a | :08:49. | :08:53.
disastrous idea. He has been running his three-shot for two and | :08:53. | :08:56.
a half years and is worried he will not survive if all shoppers are | :08:56. | :09:02.
directed away from the town centre. You could build this on redevelop | :09:02. | :09:07.
land at the bottom of the hill. There would be no impact whatsoever | :09:07. | :09:10.
on the town centre and the tourists but come here and the local people | :09:10. | :09:15.
that come up here. It is a ludicrous idea. Bolsover Council | :09:15. | :09:19.
have been based there for 25 years but have now decided to sell up. | :09:19. | :09:23.
With Morrisons the preferred buyer. Firm plans have not been drawn up | :09:23. | :09:29.
but the council says it is expected to create 200 jobs. They say the | :09:30. | :09:33.
public can businesses will have every opportunity to comment upon | :09:33. | :09:38.
any proposals, both informally at the exhibitions and formally | :09:38. | :09:41.
through any planning application submitted. The council planned to | :09:41. | :09:48.
move on to the Clowne campus of Chesterfield College. He does not | :09:48. | :09:53.
have the support of local people. It is going to be taking part in | :09:53. | :09:56.
the termination of a college and the most important thing for our | :09:57. | :10:00.
community must be to offer opportunities to young people, not | :10:00. | :10:06.
to take them away. Not everyone disagrees with the plan. It is a | :10:06. | :10:11.
good idea. It will bring employment into the area. Employment is not | :10:11. | :10:17.
good around this area. My opinion is, a good idea. No, I think it is | :10:17. | :10:24.
wrong allowing big ships -- shops into areas like this. I am all for | :10:24. | :10:28.
a competition effort brings prices down. While not a done deal, owners | :10:28. | :10:37.
are waiting to see what the future has in store. | :10:37. | :10:40.
Interesting to see these a firm market moving into the council | :10:40. | :10:45.
headquarters. -- the supermarket. This summer, eight year-old Matthew | :10:45. | :10:49.
Cartwright fell into a canal in South Yorkshire. He was arrested | :10:49. | :10:53.
and taken to hospital but later died. Today a petition has been | :10:53. | :10:57.
handed into British Waterways calling for better of waterside | :10:57. | :11:02.
city along the canal. In his first interview, Matthew's father spoke | :11:02. | :11:09.
to our reporter about the campaign. He was a happy-go-lucky lad. Full | :11:09. | :11:12.
of life. He liked to be outside and on the goal. | :11:12. | :11:17.
It is barely two nonsense Matthew Cartwright drowned. Now his father | :11:17. | :11:21.
and grandparents want to ensure no other family faces the ordeal. If | :11:21. | :11:28.
need be, by direct action. We were blackberry picking. He went to | :11:28. | :11:33.
close some Slapton. If it had been fenced off, this would not have | :11:33. | :11:38.
happened. -- he slipped 10. If there had been danger signs, | :11:38. | :11:45.
Matthew would have been aware of it. If there had been a sign their... | :11:45. | :11:51.
He would not have climbed down there. Since Matthew drowned, the | :11:51. | :11:55.
committee has gathered together 1000 signatures on a petition. The | :11:55. | :11:59.
one British Waterways to take some action, possibly putting some signs | :11:59. | :12:04.
up and maybe fencing this area off. But the locals say that that does a | :12:04. | :12:08.
start, all this education should be cleared to make it in at -- clear | :12:08. | :12:16.
that there is a command here. -- a canal here. | :12:16. | :12:20.
You have been very instrumental. Why? It is the first time since I | :12:20. | :12:24.
have lived down here that something like that has happened. It is an | :12:24. | :12:27.
awful tragedy and we do not want something like that to happen again. | :12:27. | :12:31.
This afternoon there has been a meeting with British Waterways and | :12:31. | :12:35.
the family said it was positive. But they do what action and they | :12:35. | :12:38.
are fully prepared to put up the road signs or anything else to | :12:38. | :12:44.
prevent another accident. Maybe some sort of bench or a memorial | :12:44. | :12:52.
for Matthew, just for her children, if they see it they will think, | :12:52. | :12:56.
this is where that little lad fell into the water. I am not going near | :12:56. | :13:03.
that. Just select its beware. difficult two months that have | :13:04. | :13:07.
passed since Matthew drowned have done nothing to ease the pain of | :13:07. | :13:11.
his loss. But perhaps positive action now may go some way to | :13:11. | :13:19.
ensure his death was not in vain. Thank you. There has been some | :13:19. | :13:22.
response. The family were asking for all that undergrowth to be | :13:22. | :13:26.
cleared. There as an alternative suggestion from British Waterways. | :13:26. | :13:30.
They have told us this afternoon that the plan to fill in all the | :13:30. | :13:34.
gaps in the vegetation on the canal bank and form be better bad year to | :13:34. | :13:40.
the water. We will keep you up-to- date on that story. Let's have a | :13:40. | :13:44.
look at the other time -- News: A fisherman from yard has been killed | :13:44. | :13:49.
after being swept into a river. A lifeboat crew managed to reach the | :13:49. | :13:52.
64-year-old at South Gare on the River Tees in Redcar last night. | :13:52. | :13:57.
But he died in hospital. Another man who was 63 was also sucked into | :13:57. | :14:02.
the water but managed to climb out. Police say no further action will | :14:02. | :14:06.
be taken against two women who were arrested as part of an | :14:06. | :14:11.
investigation into two nurseries and yard. They were among six -- | :14:11. | :14:18.
six staff in Red, White and Blue -- Heworth House and Little Joe's | :14:18. | :14:25.
Nursery. These say people -- a public inquiry has started under | :14:25. | :14:29.
plans for a controversial gas plant on the edge of the North York Moors. | :14:29. | :14:32.
Moorland Energy wants to build a plant to process gas from | :14:32. | :14:36.
underground reserves at ever Burston. There has been opposition | :14:36. | :14:44.
Unions in Doncaster claimed that the council is preparing to fire | :14:44. | :14:48.
all its staff, and then be higher than one different contact -- | :14:48. | :14:52.
contracts. Unison said that more discussions are to take place about | :14:52. | :14:57.
brand new terms and conditions. Barnsley and Sheffield have taken | :14:57. | :15:01.
similar action, if Doncaster council refuses to comment tonight. | :15:01. | :15:04.
Were organisations involved in engineering in South Yorkshire have | :15:04. | :15:07.
met with Nick Clegg to ask the Government to do more to help the | :15:07. | :15:11.
industry. Managers from Boeing, Rolls-Royce and the University of | :15:11. | :15:15.
Sheffield that at a special event hosted by the Deputy Prime Minister | :15:15. | :15:18.
at Westminster. That is your news in brief tonight. | :15:18. | :15:22.
You may remember that last night we brought you the story of the Leeds | :15:22. | :15:26.
couple who say that they could be forced out of business after they | :15:26. | :15:30.
received a 70,000 bill from British Gas. The story led to a big | :15:30. | :15:34.
response from view, our viewers. Many of you got in touch to share | :15:34. | :15:41.
your experiences with us. Just a recap, shone and Catherine | :15:41. | :15:45.
run stand by in Leeds. They had a new electricity meter fitted five | :15:45. | :15:49.
years ago and have been paying their bills to British Gas. | :15:49. | :15:52.
Enormous, they got a letter from the company telling them that they | :15:52. | :15:57.
have not been paid it -- not been paying enough. The bill was later | :15:57. | :16:01.
amended to say that they owed 50,000. British Gas have admitted | :16:01. | :16:06.
that it was their error, but are demanding full payment. Sean and | :16:06. | :16:11.
Catherine are saying that it could put them out of business. The issue | :16:11. | :16:16.
angered their MP, but he wants the way that every companies build | :16:16. | :16:21.
their customers investigated. is totally unacceptable. For a | :16:21. | :16:25.
small business to try and find this level of money. Big business can | :16:25. | :16:29.
probably afford it, but this is not good. Certainly in this economic | :16:29. | :16:32.
climate. We need to be doing everything we can to help and | :16:32. | :16:39.
protect small businesses. The story got a big response from you. Kate | :16:39. | :16:45.
Barton received a bill for 26,000. She ran after battling for 12 | :16:45. | :16:50.
months. It turned out that British Gas owed are more than 600. | :16:50. | :16:56.
Another man got in touch by a face but, saying that his bar was billed | :16:56. | :17:00.
40,000 for a meter that they did not actually have. | :17:00. | :17:03.
Banded Judith Coates says that her husband has just a tiny workshop, | :17:03. | :17:09.
but received a and -- and energy bill for 5,400. After many phone | :17:09. | :17:14.
calls, they got an updated bill for just 79 with no apology. | :17:14. | :17:21.
A final word goes to this woman, who is sick of arguing with energy | :17:21. | :17:24.
companies. She says that when you speak to them, the teacher like you | :17:24. | :17:26.
are an idiot. We have been speaking to British | :17:26. | :17:31.
Gas, they have not set much but they said that the urge all | :17:31. | :17:35.
customers to check every bill to ensure that we -- readings are | :17:35. | :17:40.
correct. Lot of response to that one. An | :17:40. | :17:45.
incredible story. To keep them coming in. Before seven o'clock | :17:45. | :17:50.
tonight. So sad, Victoria and Albert's | :17:50. | :17:54.
treasures. Jilly made for a queen goes under the hammer in a North | :17:54. | :17:57.
Yorkshire. And from an Bremner to Bates, the | :17:57. | :18:01.
play about one of Leeds United's most dedicated fans who has | :18:01. | :18:07.
followed them through thick and thin. | :18:07. | :18:11.
It was of course one of the greatest love stories of the last | :18:11. | :18:15.
two centuries. It was the one between Queen Victoria and Prince | :18:15. | :18:21.
Albert. There were only married for 21 years, had lots of children. | :18:21. | :18:26.
After his death, she went into mourning for 40 years. Now, a | :18:26. | :18:32.
little piece of that love story has ended up here in a North Yorkshire. | :18:32. | :18:36.
By the time these very early moving pictures were taken of Queen | :18:36. | :18:40.
Victoria, she had been in mourning for her husband for almost four | :18:40. | :18:45.
decades. But this story begins many years before that. When Victoria | :18:45. | :18:49.
and Albert had just built Balmoral Castle, and when they were both | :18:49. | :18:53.
very happy. One 28th August 1860, the royal | :18:53. | :18:57.
couple gave some very special wedding presents. Called an | :18:57. | :19:01.
amethyst, the Broads and pendant matched and complemented one | :19:01. | :19:04.
another, much like the people who had given them. | :19:04. | :19:08.
The pieces were given to a lady called Joanna Robertson, when the | :19:08. | :19:13.
occasion of her marriage. Her father was the estate's manager of | :19:13. | :19:17.
Balmoral. The royal couple had just to rebuild their home, and were | :19:17. | :19:21.
said to have fallen in love with the Scottish Highlands. After an | :19:21. | :19:25.
excellent day's shooting on the estate, Prince Albert Gate D | :19:25. | :19:28.
Robertson family this engraved cravat pin, a present he had | :19:28. | :19:32.
actually received from his wife. Generations later, the Robinson | :19:32. | :19:37.
family live in Yorkshire and have decided to sell. They are going to | :19:37. | :19:40.
get international interest. As we have seen with the royal wedding | :19:40. | :19:44.
recently, inter national interest. He cannot recall anything with such | :19:44. | :19:50.
a direct line to the royal family before. This is the first. It is | :19:50. | :19:56.
very exciting. The three items are going -- are being sold separately | :19:56. | :20:00.
in November. They are each expected to sell for between three and | :20:00. | :20:09.
1,000. That is really romantic. Not quite | :20:09. | :20:13.
so romantic, it is sport. Rotherham United's new ground | :20:13. | :20:18.
should be fit -- should be finished in 35 weeks' time. Today they | :20:18. | :20:23.
showed off the new debt of it. A new framework and a muddy field! | :20:23. | :20:26.
Beside his off Don Street, and the stadium is costing around 20 | :20:26. | :20:31.
million. The work, good news, is on Segel and should be done by July | :20:31. | :20:37.
next year. So they can do them for the start of next season. In the | :20:37. | :20:41.
early days, sceptics were saying it would not happen. We are now | :20:41. | :20:45.
showing people in Rotherham that even in bad times, investments are | :20:45. | :20:50.
going in. They are going to witness the new stadium in Rotherham, which | :20:50. | :20:56.
is going to be one of the finest in the week. We are now in a week 15 | :20:56. | :21:02.
with 35 weeks left, and it is coming fast now, it is good. They | :21:02. | :21:07.
do go off we quickly, these modern stadiums. A big Meccano set, really. | :21:07. | :21:12.
It is good stuff to watch. Staying on football, but with a | :21:12. | :21:16.
slightly different angle. I want to ask you this question, how | :21:17. | :21:21.
dedicated are due to your favourite team? At the weekend, my husband | :21:21. | :21:26.
watch the rugby on Sunday, and, where the three of football matters | :21:26. | :21:32.
on? Mind you, man City at, Spurs. You need an understanding wife, | :21:32. | :21:38.
don't you? It has been driving me nuts. I cannot imagine what the | :21:38. | :21:41.
wife of painter and decorator Gary Edwards thinks. By his own | :21:41. | :21:45.
admission, he is completely obsessed with Leeds United. He has | :21:45. | :21:50.
missed just one of their games in more than 40 years, and a new play | :21:50. | :21:53.
about Gary called Paint it White is a train Yorkshire up at the moment. | :21:53. | :22:01.
Here is a taste. You want be going to Queen's Park | :22:01. | :22:06.
Rangers on Saturday, will you? nearly choked on my pillow. Had I | :22:06. | :22:11.
not explain the facts of life? Leeds United were the facts of life, | :22:11. | :22:15.
thou shalt not the rest one game. Commandment Number One. You used to | :22:16. | :22:21.
love football. Gary, all women love football, until they get married. | :22:21. | :22:26.
It is like having double lesson here, because we have the real Gary | :22:26. | :22:33.
Edwards and also Les Rowley, who is deeply's producer. Can I just say | :22:33. | :22:36.
that Paint it White is to do with the fact that you are a painter and | :22:36. | :22:41.
decorator, and you will not paid anything red. You hate red. I was | :22:41. | :22:45.
nervous about hours so -- about her couch. It has now been turned into | :22:46. | :22:50.
a play, what is it like? They have any really good job. I was not | :22:50. | :22:56.
apprehensive before, but intrigue. But they have done an absolutely | :22:56. | :23:03.
fantastic job, I am proud of them all. What about the waste? Sea is | :23:03. | :23:08.
absolutely outstanding in that, and it is amazing how close it is. | :23:08. | :23:11.
dare tell you that your weight is listening to your every word in the | :23:11. | :23:17.
corner of her studio. I reckon it is your wife that deserves a medal. | :23:17. | :23:20.
Without a doubt, she has been absolutely fantastic. I could not | :23:20. | :23:26.
do it without her. She did not go with you all the time, did she? | :23:26. | :23:36.
:23:36. | :23:37. | ||
Know. A few exotic pre-season games. Exotic games? I like? Italy. I was | :23:37. | :23:41.
interested to read a quote that says it highlights the highs and | :23:41. | :23:43.
lows and pitfalls of being fanatical, and is there is a | :23:43. | :23:49.
fanatic, as in the? When I read Gary's book, I was interested in | :23:49. | :23:53.
the sacrifice we all make to do something we enjoy. If Gary was not | :23:53. | :23:57.
a football fan, he would be a nuclear submarine commander. | :23:57. | :24:02.
would be very wealthy! He would be, and yes. I was interested in his | :24:02. | :24:07.
humour. It was another step of showing Leeds as a city. His | :24:07. | :24:10.
fanaticism and the club revolves around the prosperity of the city, | :24:10. | :24:15.
I thought. Have you worked out how much you have spent? That is a | :24:15. | :24:21.
question I have been asked all the time. He must have some idea? | :24:21. | :24:25.
have no idea. It has gotten more expensive in the last few years. I | :24:25. | :24:31.
know that. Really expensive. It cost 1,000 for two season tickets, | :24:31. | :24:38.
home-and-away. It was not as expensive as that in the 60s. | :24:38. | :24:42.
question, my oldest friend is even as fanatical as you about Leeds | :24:42. | :24:47.
United. When are they going to do well again? This season, awfully! | :24:47. | :24:53.
You really believe that? They are on course and they are doing OK. We | :24:53. | :24:58.
have a good manager there, great supporters. Fingers crossed. I hope | :24:58. | :25:04.
so, as you say, less, it reflects on the city as well. I still cannot | :25:04. | :25:08.
get over it. More importantly, I cannot get over how your wife has | :25:08. | :25:11.
led to get away with that for all of these years. She will be pulling | :25:11. | :25:19.
faces. She is pulling faces. Another red jumper. You are in | :25:19. | :25:29.
We have had some sunshine so far this week. Let's look at the photos. | :25:29. | :25:35.
This is a beautiful photo of a parish church. Onto the next one, | :25:35. | :25:40.
some present -- some beautiful autumnal colours. And finally, some | :25:40. | :25:45.
beautiful sun rise. We have seen some sunshine this | :25:46. | :25:50.
afternoon. We will see more in the way of sunshine as he hated the day | :25:50. | :25:54.
tomorrow. Mostly dry and fine. The weather front will stay away from | :25:54. | :26:00.
us, it will be a fine day and not to be easy, either. This is this | :26:00. | :26:05.
afternoon, it has been mostly dry. We have had a few showers develop. | :26:05. | :26:09.
If you look to the south, a heavy bat of showers is heading into | :26:09. | :26:12.
South Yorkshire. The bright colours in the corners are showing heavy | :26:12. | :26:16.
bursts of rain. Thunder has been reported. The heavy showers will | :26:16. | :26:21.
head northwards across Yorkshire. It will stay around tonight, but | :26:21. | :26:25.
fading out towards dawn. With light winds in the south, we will see | :26:26. | :26:32.
temperatures dropping down to single figures. Looking at the | :26:32. | :26:38.
sometimes across the region, it rises tomorrow morning at 7:55am, | :26:39. | :26:47.
and six -- and five at 40 5:00pm. It will be a better vehicle started | :26:47. | :26:50.
the day, a few early showers but they will die away and then for | :26:50. | :26:54.
most of us, the best of the day will be dry with broken cloud, a | :26:54. | :26:58.
piece about of sunshine. But come the afternoon, showers will creep | :26:58. | :27:04.
back into western parts. Maybe to the Peak District. But further east | :27:04. | :27:10.
to the north that - my North York Moors. The wind will be gentle from | :27:10. | :27:12.
the south or south-west, the temperatures will be roughly where | :27:12. | :27:17.
they should be at this time of year. Told degrees for Scarborough, of 14 | :27:17. | :27:21.
degrees the Vale of York and 12 degrees to was the deals and the | :27:21. | :27:26.
Peak District. 12 is 54 Fahrenheit. Thursday will be cloudy Gwytherin | :27:26. | :27:29.
pushing northwards, Friday will see sunshine return. | :27:29. | :27:35.
There was a little circle over Halifax all day. Could you move it? | :27:35. | :27:39. |
