Good evening. Tonight, jailed but forgiven by the family. The woman | :00:05. | :00:07.
who killed a little girl while driving down a pedestrianised | :00:07. | :00:16.
alleyway. The driver is sincerely remorse for, being a mother of | :00:16. | :00:23.
three herself. Nevertheless, Shamirah's death has left a heart | :00:23. | :00:25.
rending gap within our family's lives. | :00:25. | :00:28.
Also tonight, the latest case of grooming ends in a life sentence. | :00:28. | :00:32.
The murderer of a teenage mother is sent down for 17 years. | :00:32. | :00:35.
And the long and short of it is that the world's tallest actor is | :00:35. | :00:42.
appearing at the Alhambra. It is looking world in the run-up to | :00:42. | :00:52.
:00:52. | :00:53. | ||
Christmas, join me for that details. The parents of a nine-year-old girl | :00:53. | :00:56.
killed by a learner driver have today spoken of their forgiveness | :00:56. | :01:01.
for the woman behind the wheel. Shamirah Grant died when a car ran | :01:01. | :01:04.
out of control in a pedestrianised alleyway close to her home in Leeds | :01:04. | :01:08.
in May this year. The driver, 34- year-old Beatrice Mawamba, was | :01:08. | :01:14.
today sentenced to two years in prison. After the hearing, | :01:14. | :01:16.
Shamirah's mother and father said they had forgiven all those | :01:16. | :01:26.
:01:26. | :01:27. | ||
involved. Olivia Richwald reports. She was beautiful and talented, | :01:27. | :01:31.
Shamirah's parents say their little girl could light up a room with hat | :01:31. | :01:35.
energy. In May, she was playing with friends in this pedestrianised | :01:35. | :01:39.
alley way which he was hit by a car. The woman behind the wheel was a | :01:39. | :01:43.
neighbour on her first driving lesson. Beatrice Mawamba was being | :01:43. | :01:46.
taught by her husband. The had given her some instructions but as | :01:46. | :01:51.
she moved into first gear, she lost control. Leeds crown court heard | :01:51. | :01:54.
today that she had not know where the break was. She had not thought | :01:54. | :01:58.
to steer the car away from this alleyway and had not tied -- tried | :01:58. | :02:02.
to turn the ignition off. The judge said she had shown an ignorant of | :02:02. | :02:07.
the most elementary principles of driving. The result was the tragedy. | :02:07. | :02:13.
The judge jailed her for two years. But instead of Britain as | :02:13. | :02:19.
commissioner's parents have found be given and. We appreciate that | :02:19. | :02:23.
such an event was not intention. -- intentional so we have accepted | :02:24. | :02:28.
that the driver was sincerely remorse for being a mother of three | :02:28. | :02:32.
herself. Nevertheless, Shamirah's death has left a heart rendering | :02:32. | :02:39.
gap in our family's life. Leeds crown court heard today that Lynda | :02:39. | :02:47.
Baumber, a mother of three, she was still inconsolable. He pleaded | :02:47. | :02:53.
guilty. We accept that it was ignorant, maybe it was stupid and | :02:53. | :02:57.
irresponsible. But we know how intent was not to kill anybody. To | :02:57. | :03:02.
have taken somebody else's child in that way, we appreciate that it | :03:02. | :03:06.
must be a difficult situation. still live next to the place their | :03:06. | :03:12.
daughter died. It is a painful and daily reminder. But inspired by | :03:12. | :03:17.
Shamirah's love of dancing and singing, they are now setting up a | :03:17. | :03:21.
performing arts company in her name to help young people. We just want | :03:21. | :03:24.
to enlightened other children with her spirit. There was nothing that | :03:24. | :03:31.
Shamirah was frightened of going. She was a very positive young | :03:31. | :03:34.
person, unbelievably so. That is what we want to instil in young | :03:34. | :03:42.
people, instead of that dysfunctional background, they | :03:42. | :03:46.
still have every reason to be positive about life in the future | :03:46. | :03:50.
in spite of that. Could you forgive? We'd like to hear what you | :03:50. | :03:52.
think about the remarkable things Shamirah's parents have said. You | :03:52. | :03:56.
can post a comment on our Facebook page or you can send us an email. | :03:56. | :04:06.
:04:06. | :04:10. | ||
Or you can tweet us @BBCLookNorth A teenager has been jailed after | :04:10. | :04:13.
murdering a young mother. Ashtiaq Ahmed repeatedly stabbed Laura | :04:13. | :04:18.
Wilson and dumped her while she was still alive in a canal in Rotherham. | :04:18. | :04:21.
Today he was told at Sheffield Crown Court that he would serve at | :04:21. | :04:26.
least 17 and a half years in prison. 17-year-old Laura, the mother of a | :04:26. | :04:29.
young daughter, is thought to have been groomed for sex by Asian men | :04:29. | :04:33.
in the South Yorkshire town. Our crime correspondent John Cundy | :04:33. | :04:40.
reports. It was nearly three days of the | :04:40. | :04:44.
Laura Wilson was stabbed in October last year before her body was | :04:44. | :04:49.
recovered from the South Yorkshire navigational canal. During two | :04:49. | :04:54.
trials, juries heard that Laura was held down at knifepoint in the | :04:54. | :04:59.
water by 18 year-old ash Tyacke Ahmed as she struggled to survive. | :04:59. | :05:08.
-- Ashtiaq Ahmed. It was her sexual relationship with two men which led | :05:08. | :05:13.
to her murder. The Asian men were said to have been separate -- | :05:13. | :05:17.
desperate to stop their families from finding out that they had been | :05:17. | :05:22.
with a white girl, Laura. At the lonely spot here where Laura was | :05:22. | :05:32.
:05:32. | :05:32. | ||
murdered, his friend -- Ashtiaq Ahmed's friend was cleared. It was | :05:32. | :05:37.
another case where young girls had been groomed for sex with adults, | :05:37. | :05:46.
have been Laura's case from the age of 12. Rotherham's safeguarding | :05:46. | :05:51.
children's board will be publishing a serious case reviewed in the New | :05:51. | :05:54.
Year about Laura Wilson. There have been concerned for her for five | :05:54. | :06:04.
:06:04. | :06:08. | ||
years. In a statement today they I am satisfied that Laura was | :06:08. | :06:11.
stabbed multiple times, some of those stab wounds prevented her | :06:12. | :06:15.
from climbing out. She had a significant injuries to her hands | :06:15. | :06:19.
and wrists which would have prevented her from climbing out. | :06:20. | :06:22.
From our investigation we are satisfied that she was alive when | :06:22. | :06:28.
she went into a canal, made efforts to get out but was prevented from | :06:28. | :06:34.
doing so by the man in court. At knife point, I think the knife was | :06:34. | :06:38.
used to prevent hope of getting out. In the words of the judge, the | :06:38. | :06:43.
murderer had used an element of sadism who brave -- against Laura | :06:43. | :06:48.
Wilson who had bravely stood up to him. But he had decided that the | :06:48. | :06:51.
goal, who had become a sexual target for older men, could not go | :06:51. | :06:57.
Denis MacShane, the MP from Rotherham, joins us from London. | :06:57. | :07:04.
What are your concerns? It is a terrible tragedy, for Laura's | :07:04. | :07:08.
family. Also at this man, we are teeming -- talking about teenagers | :07:08. | :07:15.
here, not adults, he has gone to prison for 17 1/2 years. There are | :07:15. | :07:20.
so many into related problems. The problem of grooming, the problem | :07:20. | :07:24.
that we pour into our children's minds the idea that sexual | :07:24. | :07:30.
gratification at an early age is the norm. The porn industry, the | :07:30. | :07:38.
fact that people are Trafford into Britain, men produced -- if men | :07:39. | :07:43.
produce 50 they can have sex in a brothel anyway there -- anyway | :07:43. | :07:46.
they'll want. We are talking about all of the country, not just | :07:46. | :07:50.
Rotherham. We have problems in Yorkshire towns because I think | :07:50. | :07:54.
there is a generation gap between men and women, a culture of | :07:54. | :08:00.
treating women as easy meat, to use a horrible expression. We also have | :08:00. | :08:03.
some very dysfunctional families, Laura was getting some affection | :08:03. | :08:07.
and good treatment, she did not come from a happy family background. | :08:07. | :08:11.
We also have the agencies, social services and police, the schools, | :08:11. | :08:15.
not quite reading the signs. Parents not even reading the signs | :08:15. | :08:20.
and understanding what is going on. We have this concept of shame... | :08:20. | :08:23.
The government is trying to do something about this, to try and | :08:23. | :08:26.
make us aware of this kind of thing going on. What would you like to | :08:26. | :08:30.
see happen in that initiative or is that going the wrong way? There is | :08:30. | :08:35.
no government argument with this. We have to highlight this. We have | :08:35. | :08:39.
to be very frank and say that in modern Britain, the concept of | :08:39. | :08:43.
shame and honour, the idea that if your son has sex with a goal and | :08:43. | :08:49.
then has a baby, that brings no shame, or rather it is a family | :08:49. | :08:52.
problem. Unprotected sex is a terrible problem among teenagers | :08:52. | :08:56.
anyway. We have to say this does not lead to violence to honour | :08:56. | :09:02.
killings, or this kind of death. I would like to see the concept of a | :09:02. | :09:06.
Guardian, so that where we fear that a person has been traffic or | :09:06. | :09:11.
internally traffic or groomed for sex, and individually -- an | :09:11. | :09:14.
individual adult can take responsibility and say to the | :09:14. | :09:19.
police and social services, this is what needs to be done. It does not | :09:19. | :09:24.
cover people shuffled between other agencies, individuals are | :09:24. | :09:28.
encouraged to take responsibility for someone who is very | :09:28. | :09:31.
dysfunctional. That is one way forward. | :09:31. | :09:36.
Thank you very much indeed. Later: Helping retrace the roots of | :09:36. | :09:40.
travellers. It's not all big fat gypsy weddings, a plea for | :09:40. | :09:50.
:09:50. | :09:54. | ||
youngsters to come forward to help I do not think in all their ears | :09:54. | :09:59.
that we have been doing this, I have seen CCTV footage as shocking | :09:59. | :10:01.
as this. The British transport police in | :10:01. | :10:04.
South Yorkshire are warning party goers to take care after one was | :10:04. | :10:10.
caught on CCTV falling off a train and onto the railway tracks. Tom | :10:10. | :10:13.
Ingall is at Barnsley station now where the incident happened and can | :10:13. | :10:22.
tell us more. I am standing on the platform at | :10:22. | :10:25.
Barnsley Interchange where this accident happened. It was earlier | :10:25. | :10:27.
this year but British Transport Police have released the dramatic | :10:27. | :10:30.
pictures today because they want to warn people to be safe if they are | :10:30. | :10:33.
using public transport this Christmas, particularly if they are | :10:33. | :10:38.
going to a party and drinking. You might find these pictures shocking, | :10:38. | :10:42.
they will take your breath away. The Lady get out of the train, | :10:42. | :10:45.
clearly the worse for wear, and falls down the gap between the | :10:45. | :10:49.
train and a platform, ending up on the tracks next to the wheels. | :10:50. | :10:55.
Important to say, the train did not move, apart from some cuts and | :10:55. | :11:00.
bruises she was not injured. But a lucky escape. As a footnote, the | :11:00. | :11:06.
trains were delayed so it set up -- it messed up some plans for the | :11:06. | :11:09.
evening. British Transport Police are warning Pele -- a warning other | :11:09. | :11:15.
revellers today. They say, plan your journey before you start | :11:15. | :11:19.
drinking, particularly your return journey. Know your limits with your | :11:20. | :11:24.
alcohol, keep an even temper, and most importantly, as they say on | :11:24. | :11:29.
London Underground, mind the gap. The death of a two-year-old girl in | :11:29. | :11:31.
Dewsbury could possibly have been prevented if professionals involved | :11:31. | :11:35.
in the case had not misjudged the risk to her. Jasmine Bellfield was | :11:35. | :11:38.
smothered by her mentally ill mother Sonia at their home last | :11:38. | :11:43.
February. A nurse and care worker had visited their home hours before | :11:43. | :11:47.
the killing but didn't see the little girl. A serious case review | :11:47. | :11:49.
has made 26 recommendations calling for improvements in social services | :11:49. | :11:56.
and health workers in Kirklees. A gang involved in carrying out a | :11:56. | :12:00.
number of so-called sham marriages has been sent to prison. Farruka | :12:00. | :12:03.
Khan devised the scheme to persuade vulnerable Slovak women to marry | :12:03. | :12:06.
Pakistani men so the men could stay in Yorkshire after their visas ran | :12:06. | :12:11.
out. The crime came to light when UK Border Agency officials and | :12:11. | :12:17.
police interrupted a fake wedding at Leeds Town Hall. Khan was | :12:17. | :12:21.
sentenced to two years and three months in jail. Other members of | :12:21. | :12:24.
the gang were given sentences of between 12 months and two and a | :12:24. | :12:33.
half years. We have not only had 20 marriages interrupted, by our | :12:33. | :12:37.
enforcement, but we know that we have stopped 70 more this year | :12:37. | :12:42.
alone. We have been operating in other parts of Yorkshire other than | :12:42. | :12:46.
Leeds. It is that kind of effective enforcement that act as a long-term | :12:46. | :12:48.
deterrent. 48 Yorkshire jobs are going at the | :12:48. | :12:51.
shoe chain Barratts. 43 of them are at its Bradford headquarters, the | :12:51. | :12:54.
other five at a branch of the Priceless chain near Leeds. | :12:54. | :12:56.
Barratts went into administration earlier this month after running | :12:56. | :13:03.
into financial difficulties. A protest has been held in Leeds by | :13:03. | :13:05.
people unhappy with the way elections have been handled in the | :13:05. | :13:09.
Democratic Republic of Congo. Around 200 demonstrators gathered | :13:09. | :13:15.
in Millennium Square. The EU has severely criticised last month's | :13:15. | :13:20.
vote which saw the President stay in power. | :13:20. | :13:23.
Scrap metal thieves are believed to have taken a sculpture by the | :13:23. | :13:25.
Wakefield-born artist Barbara Hepworth. The bronze work called | :13:25. | :13:30.
Two Forms was taken from a park in South London. The local council is | :13:30. | :13:36.
offering 1,000 reward for help finding it. | :13:36. | :13:39.
For women going through breast cancer, losing their hair and | :13:39. | :13:41.
scarring or disfigurement has a huge impact on their self | :13:41. | :13:47.
confidence. Two West Yorkshire women are bringing their personal | :13:47. | :13:50.
experiences to a new business which is proving at the very least, an | :13:50. | :13:54.
uplifting experience for women across Yorkshire. Our health | :13:54. | :14:04.
:14:04. | :14:05. | ||
correspondent Penny Bustin reports. Two friend to the common purpose. | :14:05. | :14:11.
To make women at their lowest ebb feel better. I and Debbie, this is | :14:11. | :14:16.
duly. Baby suffered a total hair loss and Julie is less than two | :14:16. | :14:20.
years on from breast cancer. Today they are on visiting someone who is | :14:20. | :14:25.
still having treatment for breast cancer diagnosed in June. One of | :14:25. | :14:29.
the problems I had was finding a bra that was comfortable. More to | :14:29. | :14:33.
the point, feminine and pretty. I had a few not very nice experiences | :14:33. | :14:37.
in major high-street stores, where you are made to feel a bit of a | :14:37. | :14:40.
freak. I thought about doing something like this for quite a | :14:40. | :14:44.
while, because I wanted to stop lady's going through the same | :14:44. | :14:48.
problems and the embarrassment that I had. Have you had any ideas on | :14:48. | :14:58.
:14:58. | :14:59. | ||
clothes? Or weeks? Blonde, I think. It is just a little stocking cap. | :14:59. | :15:03.
found it very difficult and embarrassing to get a week. It is a | :15:03. | :15:07.
few years since that, but I still do not have any hair and I still | :15:07. | :15:10.
wear the hair pieces. I'd wanted to do something topical in their own | :15:11. | :15:16.
home to make them feel comfortable and relaxed. Because I am wearing | :15:16. | :15:26.
:15:26. | :15:30. | ||
one as well it makes them feel How does that feel? It is lovely. | :15:30. | :15:35.
It is a good colour. That is the one I think. I'd definitely like | :15:35. | :15:43.
the blonde. We look like sisters! Just lean slightly forward for me, | :15:44. | :15:49.
Magritte. Bringing the fitting experience to people's Homes is | :15:49. | :15:52.
helpful because it takes the embarrassment out of it. Some | :15:52. | :15:56.
people, following surgery, if it is quite radical, are uncomfortable | :15:56. | :15:59.
and they have major scarring and they do not want to be tugged | :15:59. | :16:07.
around in a shop. I have not been able to wear a proper bra, I have | :16:07. | :16:12.
had to wear a sports bra, which do not do anything for you. To have a | :16:12. | :16:15.
proper bra is really good. I feel more like a woman, like my old | :16:15. | :16:20.
self- again. The more relaxed they feel, the better response we get at | :16:20. | :16:24.
the easier it makes our jobs. It is so nice when you can do something | :16:24. | :16:30.
for somebody, that makes them feel good. What a wonderful experience. | :16:30. | :16:33.
We wish them all the very best. Before 7pm, an Ironman with a | :16:33. | :16:37.
difference. The extreme event athlete who's dominating the world | :16:37. | :16:47.
:16:47. | :16:48. | ||
in her discipline. And Robin Hood has come to Bradford, | :16:48. | :16:53.
and I am here with the world's largest Little John. Join us later | :16:53. | :17:03.
:17:03. | :17:12. | ||
She is 6 ft 4 as well! If you're already making plans for | :17:12. | :17:15.
getting fit again in the New Year after all that Christmas dinner, | :17:15. | :17:17.
you might take inspiration from one of Britain's most accomplished | :17:17. | :17:19.
athletes, who passed through Yorkshire today. Chrissie | :17:19. | :17:22.
Wellington is reigning Ironman World Champion for the fourth time. | :17:22. | :17:26.
And they came from far and wide to meet her, or was it to try and beat | :17:26. | :17:36.
:17:36. | :17:40. | ||
Tell us why you are here. To see Chrissie Wellington, when are you | :17:40. | :17:45.
going to get another chance to train with Chrissie Wellington? | :17:45. | :17:50.
you mean a chance to beat her? will see, I might take it easy! | :17:50. | :17:56.
came down and then, Chrissie Wellington walked in, and it was | :17:56. | :18:01.
like, wow! It actually her! Chrissie Wellington can light up | :18:01. | :18:05.
the gloomiest of December at Yorkshire afternoons just by | :18:05. | :18:09.
arriving at the track. That makes her a perfect patron for Jane | :18:09. | :18:18.
Tomlinson's charity. Today's run with Chrissie event was an equally | :18:18. | :18:22.
appropriate fund raiser. Jane's appeal continues to inspire and | :18:22. | :18:26.
Christie picked up the baton for her fans and followers. But she was | :18:26. | :18:30.
not the only one in good nick for Christmas. It has been very jovial, | :18:30. | :18:36.
people are enthusiastic and excited. I am the same, I am excited about | :18:36. | :18:40.
the opportunity to talk to people. High achieving sportswomen, present | :18:40. | :18:47.
and future, all on one December afternoon in north Leeds. You can | :18:47. | :18:51.
bet future sports personality of the air shortlist will not be all- | :18:51. | :18:56.
male. I love triathlon. I just love it. Are we talking to a future | :18:56. | :19:01.
world champion? I think so! It is something that I want to instil, in | :19:01. | :19:05.
as many children as possible. Not necessarily the competitive aspect | :19:05. | :19:10.
but just the joy and passion for sport. Do you have ever have a day | :19:10. | :19:15.
off? Of course, but just not Christmas Day! Absolutely | :19:15. | :19:17.
remarkable. My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding was | :19:17. | :19:20.
probably one of the most memorable TV documentaries series of this | :19:20. | :19:23.
year.It certainly got people talking and brought a lot of | :19:23. | :19:33.
:19:33. | :19:34. | ||
attention upon the travelling community. That and a man from | :19:34. | :19:37.
there ended up winning big brother as well. And if you didn't watch it, | :19:38. | :19:44.
or even if you did, here's a reminder of those huge dresses. | :19:44. | :19:48.
Only on the rarest of occasions the Gypsy and non gypsies celebrate | :19:48. | :19:54.
side by side. But today, the two communities have come together to | :19:55. | :19:59.
see 17 year-old not travel less damage marry her gypsy boy friend | :20:00. | :20:07.
Pat. Some people in the travelling community felt they were unfairly | :20:07. | :20:10.
portrayed in the series and even ridicule. | :20:10. | :20:13.
Now young gypsies and travellers in Yorkshire have been asked to | :20:13. | :20:22.
produce their own DVD, a book for a showing another side to their | :20:22. | :20:26.
community. The project is being run by Violet Cannon. You are a gypsy? | :20:26. | :20:33.
Yes, I am. Why did you not like it? It up like a caricature up of the | :20:33. | :20:38.
community rather than an insight fork -- an insight into the | :20:38. | :20:42.
community. Even though some people saw the moral side of our community, | :20:42. | :20:48.
people who read certain tabloid newspapers watched it and saw very | :20:48. | :20:51.
over-the-top wealth, often patients shows of wealth and questions were | :20:51. | :20:56.
raised about where they got the money without looking at where the | :20:56. | :21:00.
-- how the show was made. Was there anything positive that came from it, | :21:00. | :21:10.
:21:10. | :21:13. | ||
do you think as my from its I got a From that, I got a book deal, but I | :21:13. | :21:21.
also got a documentary in -- on another channel. I know you want to | :21:21. | :21:24.
explain this. The you mind being called a gypsy? Some people say you | :21:24. | :21:28.
are called a traveller. What is the difference between a road map and | :21:28. | :21:36.
agrimony, and the traveller and a gypsy? I work with seven different | :21:36. | :21:41.
groups of people, and within that you have got two lifestyle choices, | :21:41. | :21:48.
to macroeconomic travellers and four ethnic travellers. We are | :21:48. | :21:53.
working with Eastern European gypsies, they are roaming the | :21:53. | :22:01.
gypsy's cousins, they share their same culture. We have similar views. | :22:02. | :22:08.
And then wrote many gypsies? They are English, I prefer to say | :22:08. | :22:18.
:22:18. | :22:25. | ||
English gypsies. If you say Romany I am fascinated by this. There are | :22:25. | :22:35.
:22:35. | :22:37. | ||
a lot of lessons to be learned. Hopefully your DVD will help. | :22:37. | :22:40.
It wouldn't be Christmas without panto, and here in Yorkshire we've | :22:40. | :22:43.
got everything from Aladdin to Jack and his beanstalk. But in Bradford, | :22:43. | :22:46.
Robin Hood has come to The Alhambra Theatre and alongside the usual | :22:46. | :22:48.
heroes and villains, there's one character who will stand out more | :22:49. | :22:57.
than the rest. Amanda Harper can explain. | :22:57. | :23:01.
We are minutes a wave from the performance tonight of Robin Hood, | :23:01. | :23:05.
and I am with arguably the biggest star of the show. Lovely to meet | :23:05. | :23:10.
you, how tall are you? I and 7th at seven. You are Britain's tallest | :23:10. | :23:20.
:23:20. | :23:24. | ||
man? I am. -- I and seven ft 7. I am playing Little John, it is my | :23:24. | :23:28.
first time in Bradford and it is a pleasure to be here. So far so good, | :23:28. | :23:33.
the pantomime is going great. background is in basketball, so how | :23:34. | :23:40.
you enjoying this change of career? I have been playing basketball for | :23:40. | :23:43.
half my life, I went to the state in a scholarship. But I have always | :23:43. | :23:50.
wanted to get into acting. -- and went to America on a scholarship. I | :23:50. | :23:54.
have now done three pantomimes, I have done television. And a couple | :23:54. | :23:58.
of films. Let's talk about Hollywood. And Kuoni Reeves, no | :23:58. | :24:04.
less, one of your co-stars? Yes, I have just done a film with him | :24:04. | :24:12.
which will be out next year, he is the hero in the film. I play a big | :24:12. | :24:18.
bad guy but it is basically Samurai, fighting, action and sci-fi, it was | :24:19. | :24:22.
a lot of fun and it was really nice to get to know him, he was really | :24:22. | :24:28.
nice. Bringing you back to Bradford, what can our audiences expect? | :24:28. | :24:33.
is a great show for the kids and family, we have got some great | :24:33. | :24:36.
special effects, dragons and that sort of thing. The kids will love | :24:36. | :24:41.
it, it is a great day out for the family. Hopefully we will see you! | :24:41. | :24:46.
I will not argue with you! There are tickets still available, 70,000 | :24:47. | :24:51.
have been sold so come along and see Neil at the hall -- and the | :24:51. | :24:57.
whole team for yourself. A good job that we didn't sell -- | :24:57. | :25:07.
:25:07. | :25:08. | ||
cent Paul! He is Littlejohn. The whole point | :25:08. | :25:18.
:25:18. | :25:32. | ||
is that he was tall. Asli said last week, no chance of a | :25:32. | :25:36.
white Christmas. On Christmas Day it could be 12 degrees, so very | :25:36. | :25:40.
mild indeed. In the short term, cloudy and damp in the West, | :25:40. | :25:46.
brighter in the east. We are in a warm sector, said temperatures are | :25:46. | :25:49.
actually 11 degrees. This cold front will bring some rain on | :25:49. | :25:54.
Friday. You can see the extent of the cloud on the satellite sequence, | :25:54. | :25:58.
there have been a few breaks in the last couple of hours across eastern | :25:58. | :26:08.
areas. There could be some breaks tomorrow. Sunshine across the coast. | :26:08. | :26:12.
Drizzle or light rain across the Pennines, a little bit getting | :26:12. | :26:22.
across further east. We will have a West/East split. It is not -- it | :26:22. | :26:32.
will be frost-free. A lot of cloud around three Thursday. It will be | :26:32. | :26:36.
fit enough at times for some drizzle and light rain across | :26:36. | :26:40.
western areas, in particular the Pennines. Further east it looks dry | :26:40. | :26:46.
and at times it will be bright as well. There will be a blustery west | :26:46. | :26:51.
and the then South West wind, breaking the cloud up. Temperatures | :26:51. | :26:57.
will reach out to top degrees. Even over the Pennines, -- 12 degrees. | :26:57. | :27:03.
Even over the Pennines, 10 or 11. Light on Friday and then especially | :27:03. | :27:09.
in the morning. Christmas Eve looks quite nice, dry with sunshine. | :27:09. | :27:19.
Cloudy and the risk of rain on Some comments about the main story, | :27:19. | :27:23.
one says, the woman who killed a little girl has gone through enough, | :27:23. | :27:27.
she would be prepared to go to prison for a lot longer. Another | :27:27. | :27:32.
says, I would not have been able to have the forgiveness of those two | :27:32. | :27:36. |
