Welcome to Friday's Look North: Tonight - is the army the answer? | :00:06. | :00:09.
Controversy mounts over a plan to use army medics to help staff | :00:09. | :00:13.
Pontefract Hospital's A&E at night. We'll hear from one worried local | :00:13. | :00:18.
MP. Also tonight: In from the cold: As homelessness | :00:18. | :00:22.
rises, more Yorkshire churches open their doors. | :00:22. | :00:25.
Olympic Dreams - can Jessica Ennis regain number one spot when it | :00:25. | :00:35.
:00:35. | :00:39. | ||
matters most? These guys in West Yorkshire were great today. -- the | :00:39. | :00:48.
skies. Join me later for the weather. | :00:48. | :00:52.
But first tonight: Could drafting in army medics be the solution to a | :00:52. | :00:54.
recruitment crisis which has closed overnight A&E services at | :00:54. | :01:00.
Pontefract Hospital? It's been shutting its doors at night since | :01:00. | :01:03.
November because the Trust says there's a shortage of suitable | :01:03. | :01:07.
doctors. Now it says it's asked the Ministry of Defence if it can | :01:07. | :01:10.
provide support on a temporary basis. MPs have described the | :01:10. | :01:12.
possibility as deeply concerning and today, the Government said | :01:13. | :01:22.
:01:23. | :01:25. | ||
there wasn't a shortage of doctors. Doctors and nurses battling to save | :01:25. | :01:30.
a life. These are army medics working in an Afghan war zone. Soon, | :01:30. | :01:36.
they could be trucked into staff the Pontefract accident and | :01:37. | :01:40.
emergency department to keep it open overnight. Since November, it | :01:40. | :01:44.
has been shut at night because the NHS Trust that runs it says it | :01:44. | :01:50.
cannot recruit enough doctors. Emergency cases have to travel to | :01:50. | :01:56.
Wake field instead. When a similar idea happened in Staffordshire, | :01:56. | :02:00.
there were protests against it. Using the army is not a sustainable | :02:00. | :02:04.
solution. How can the government allowed it to come to this but we | :02:04. | :02:11.
don't have enough middle grade doctors to do the job? | :02:11. | :02:15.
Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust says the closure of remains a temporary | :02:15. | :02:19.
measure and is not budded religion. They say using army medics is only | :02:19. | :02:26.
one option being explored. People in Pontefract had mixed feelings. | :02:26. | :02:32.
Absolutely disgusting. The army medics are there for the forces. | :02:32. | :02:37.
Tell them to take more on. They need to train more up, don't they, | :02:38. | :02:43.
if there is not enough. If I need emergency treatment, it wouldn't | :02:43. | :02:48.
worry me what sort of doctor it was as long at all -- as long as it was | :02:48. | :02:55.
a qualified doctor. Pontefract reflects something that is | :02:55. | :02:59.
happening in a number of emergency departments around the country. | :02:59. | :03:07.
Nationally, at a middle grade level, we are approximately at 20-25% down | :03:07. | :03:11.
on power middle grade doctors. Nobody from the trust was available | :03:11. | :03:14.
for interview today but in a statement, be the partner for | :03:14. | :03:18.
Health told us things were improving across the country. It | :03:18. | :03:24.
said that since May 2010, 3,000 doctors had been trained and | :03:24. | :03:30.
recruited in emergency medicine. Until a solution can be found, | :03:30. | :03:33.
Pontefract's emergency department is closed from 10pm and night. | :03:33. | :03:37.
There has been lots of reaction. We're joined now by the Labour MP | :03:37. | :03:43.
for Hemsworth, Jon Trickett. Apparently, you told the trust to | :03:43. | :03:50.
get a grip. What do you mean? is not acceptable. We were given | :03:50. | :03:53.
five days' notice, no proper explanation, we were told it was | :03:53. | :03:57.
temporary. It is not acceptable that these delays are taking place | :03:57. | :04:04.
and people are left with no emergency cover. And it is a brand | :04:04. | :04:09.
new hospital with a brand new A&E department. Not seen anyone after | :04:09. | :04:13.
10 o'clock at night. It is ludicrous. A brand new state-of- | :04:13. | :04:17.
the-art hospital and it closes at 10 o'clock. What happens if your | :04:17. | :04:24.
child falls ill or your elderly relative at 9:55pm, it is | :04:24. | :04:27.
unacceptable. We insist they get a move on and get the hospital open | :04:27. | :04:32.
again. What about the trust who say quite simply, they cannot get | :04:32. | :04:38.
enough doctors? You can't have a sub-standard service. That would be | :04:38. | :04:42.
dangerous. Of course you can't but the truth is that until we got | :04:42. | :04:46.
involved as local MPs, they hadn't even considered all the options | :04:46. | :04:49.
available to them and there were several. I wonder whether there was | :04:49. | :04:55.
a secret agenda to begin to close down really a brand new spanking | :04:55. | :05:00.
new facility in Pontefract amongst some of the managers. Is there a | :05:00. | :05:05.
shortage of doctors? The government are saying there is a shortage but | :05:05. | :05:09.
locally, the management are saying there isn't. The problem is | :05:09. | :05:16.
recruitment. I don't want any more excuses. What we want is can do. We | :05:16. | :05:19.
want to see these plays reopened, however it is done, as soon as | :05:19. | :05:24.
possible. This would help in the recruitment drive. -- this won't | :05:24. | :05:32.
help. We want the hospital trust to get behind Pontefract. They built | :05:32. | :05:36.
this facility, it is fantastic inside. They have to send the | :05:36. | :05:40.
signal that this has a long-term future so that bright young doctors | :05:40. | :05:45.
apply for the post and get the place back open. Thank you very | :05:45. | :05:48.
much. The sporting career of an | :05:48. | :05:50.
international karate champion from York lies in ruins tonight after he | :05:50. | :05:53.
was jailed for five years for sex offences against a 13-year-old girl. | :05:53. | :05:56.
30-year-old Liam O'Grady, who's a married father of two, had spent | :05:56. | :05:58.
months grooming the teenager before committing sexual offences against | :05:58. | :06:02.
her in his club in Osbaldwick. Our crime correspondent John Cundy | :06:02. | :06:12.
:06:12. | :06:14. | ||
Liam O'Grady arrived in court in York today, shamed in his community | :06:14. | :06:19.
and shamed in his sport. He has studied and karate for England and | :06:19. | :06:25.
Great Britain all over the world. A double European champion and black | :06:25. | :06:29.
belt force Dan, one of the highest levels. He trained hundreds of | :06:29. | :06:34.
children in karate at his club here on the outskirts of York. But no | :06:34. | :06:39.
more. York crown Court heard his chosen victim was groomed from Bury | :06:39. | :06:43.
many months before he committed the sexual acts in various places | :06:43. | :06:48.
including his own home. What he did was not only abusive in terms of | :06:48. | :06:53.
the Act he was found guilty for but he was also abusive in the cynical | :06:53. | :06:58.
manipulation of this 12-year-old girl. Her courage stands in stark | :06:58. | :07:04.
contrast of his represents -- reprehensible pursued of self | :07:04. | :07:09.
interest. He abused her position of trust by taking advantage of an | :07:09. | :07:15.
innocent girl. He added to her distress by having to put her | :07:15. | :07:25.
:07:25. | :07:32. | ||
through a long trial. Tonight, the Liam O'Grady went to jail today, | :07:32. | :07:36.
still denying the sex offences which have wrecked his life and his | :07:36. | :07:40.
career. Stay with us as we're off down the | :07:40. | :07:49.
local. I'm in the pub with good reason. This is one of 10 locals | :07:49. | :07:53.
across the city centre that have been transformed into temporary art | :07:53. | :07:58.
galleries for one night only. This one is celebrating Sheffield-based | :07:58. | :08:06.
war films. Joined me in 10 minutes' time. | :08:06. | :08:08.
Next, the growing problem of Yorkshire's so-called hidden | :08:08. | :08:12.
homeless. Tonight, churches in Halifax are opening their doors for | :08:12. | :08:15.
the first time to rough sleepers. A similar scheme already running in | :08:15. | :08:18.
Bradford says its struggling to keep up with the demand. In the | :08:18. | :08:21.
last two years, there's been a rise in the number of people accepted as | :08:21. | :08:24.
homeless by our local councils. The picture's worst in North Yorkshire | :08:24. | :08:28.
where that figure's up by 39%. But West Yorkshire's also seen an | :08:28. | :08:32.
increase of 20%. South Yorkshire has seen the smallest increase at | :08:32. | :08:36.
just 1%. But charities say that's the tip of the iceberg. Olivia | :08:36. | :08:46.
Richwald's at the Salvation Army Hall in Halifax. As you can see, | :08:46. | :08:50.
the tables are being set and the food is being cooked in the kitchen. | :08:50. | :08:55.
The doors open at 7 o'clock tonight. This is the first night of a new | :08:55. | :08:59.
pilot project here in Halifax to offer rough sleepers a warm bed, a | :08:59. | :09:04.
hot meal and a hot shower. There is space to sleep 10 people tonight. | :09:04. | :09:08.
The organisers believe there is a demand for that and more. They have | :09:08. | :09:13.
taken inspiration for this project from a similar scheme in Bradford. | :09:13. | :09:17.
That scheme has been running for three years. Earlier this week, I | :09:17. | :09:25.
spent the evening there. Martin and Andrew are best friends. Martin is | :09:25. | :09:29.
from Slovakia and Andrew is from Poland. In recent months, both have | :09:29. | :09:34.
fallen on hard times. Both are now homeless and sleeping rough on the | :09:34. | :09:39.
streets. Tonight, it is minus four degrees outside but thanks to a | :09:39. | :09:44.
project run by Bradford's judges, tonight, Martin and Andrew but have | :09:44. | :09:54.
:09:54. | :09:57. | ||
a hot meal and a warm bed. house because no money. I'm living | :09:57. | :10:03.
outside may be for four months. It is not good. In Bradford, this | :10:03. | :10:09.
winter, there are officially 33 people sleeping rough. That is up | :10:09. | :10:16.
by a third by last year. The true picture could be worse. A lot of | :10:16. | :10:21.
people are sofa surfing. A few of our guests have experienced quite | :10:21. | :10:24.
recent homelessness because they have lost their jobs or their | :10:24. | :10:29.
tenancies. The project is run for three months over the winter and | :10:29. | :10:33.
more than 60 churches take part. A local mosque also helps by donating | :10:33. | :10:38.
food. Flight, the Bishop of Bradford is visiting the project. | :10:38. | :10:43.
He says it is absolutely vital. When you see some of the people on | :10:43. | :10:49.
the streets, you realise that very quickly, there world for a pot. For | :10:49. | :10:54.
some people just like you and me, something goes wrong and it is all | :10:54. | :10:58.
gone. This is one way of trying to provide a bit of practical hope as | :10:58. | :11:05.
well as help. It is staffed by volunteers. There are only space | :11:05. | :11:11.
for 12 and there are always full. This project is very, very good. A | :11:11. | :11:19.
big thank you. The big front you for the help, for these people. -- | :11:19. | :11:24.
a big thank you. This is a much needed service will be. Since the | :11:24. | :11:30.
project started, seven of fake guests have died. That is the | :11:30. | :11:38.
reality of sleeping rough. You helped set the project up. Tommy | :11:38. | :11:43.
that the demand for the project. have been working with this project | :11:43. | :11:52.
which gives food parcels out. We have given out 13,000 parcels. A | :11:52. | :11:56.
majority of those people experience in homelessness, it is hidden. We | :11:56. | :12:02.
do know there is a demand. I need to ask you, this project is great | :12:02. | :12:08.
but long-term, nor -- more needs to be done? They have is a passion to | :12:08. | :12:11.
eradicate homelessness. We have been running this project for four | :12:11. | :12:15.
weeks. We are trying to find out for the situation is, how many pook | :12:15. | :12:21.
-- homeless people we have. We are working to eradicate homelessness | :12:21. | :12:26.
in Halifax long term. I know you are helping to rehouse people and | :12:26. | :12:30.
get them into bed sits. This project gets under way at 7pm | :12:30. | :12:34.
tonight and will be running three nights a week for the next four | :12:34. | :12:42.
wigs. -- four-week. More news from around the region | :12:42. | :12:44.
and police investigating the murder of Amjad Hussein are appealing to | :12:44. | :12:48.
Bradford's Asian community to help catch his killer. Amjad was found | :12:48. | :12:51.
after a fire at his home in Rylstone Gardens in Undercliffe a | :12:51. | :12:56.
week ago. He'd died from severe neck injuries. Police say he had | :12:56. | :12:59.
several business dealings in the city and they think that's where | :12:59. | :13:09.
:13:09. | :13:09. | ||
As detectives, we can do as many clever things as we like, forensic | :13:09. | :13:16.
work and DNA in the background. But we really need the help of the | :13:16. | :13:20.
community to answer questions about his background. Doncaster council | :13:20. | :13:24.
have scrapped plans for 4% pay cut for workers earning more than | :13:24. | :13:31.
15,000. Instead the unions have been told the revised offer will be | :13:31. | :13:36.
a 2.5% cut for those over 20,000 pound, and a 1% cut for those | :13:36. | :13:41.
earning between 15,020 1,000. There will be no pay cut for those | :13:41. | :13:46.
earning less than 15,000. The Attorney-General has attempted -- | :13:46. | :13:49.
agreed to re-examine the inquests into the death of Kevin Williams | :13:49. | :13:53.
who was killed in the Hillsborough disaster when he was fifteens. His | :13:54. | :14:02.
mother says he has evidence which suggests her son was still alive | :14:02. | :14:06.
for 15 minutes after the coroner said he was dead, and his death was | :14:06. | :14:15.
not accidental. The case may now be debated in the House of Commons. | :14:15. | :14:22.
Before 7 o'clock, above a top clash. Camp the Blades cut down Charlton | :14:22. | :14:31.
I think we might be asking that very question now. I will try to | :14:31. | :14:38.
answer it in a while. It is a very big year, we are into Olympic year. | :14:38. | :14:42.
There are 189 days to go until the start of what promises to be a | :14:42. | :14:45.
successful games for Yorkshire. We think we have got more than our | :14:45. | :14:51.
fair share of gold medal contenders. This Sunday, a special programme | :14:51. | :14:53.
called Yorkshire Olympic Dreams goes behind the scenes as some of | :14:53. | :15:00.
our top stars and Olympic hopefuls get ready for the a London games. | :15:01. | :15:04.
Here is Jess Ennis and her coach Toni Miniechello it setting out to | :15:05. | :15:13.
be number one in the world when it matters most. On day 10 of Olympic | :15:13. | :15:19.
training, Jess Ennis and her coach have an early start. Seeing him | :15:19. | :15:23.
stat there with his laptop open, doing some work, that never, ever, | :15:23. | :15:28.
ever, ever happens. I am always here before him. We will arrange to | :15:28. | :15:38.
meet at 930. 932 hat means she turned up at 8:55am. -- 9:30am to | :15:38. | :15:46.
her means she turns up half-an-hour early! Today's session is about | :15:46. | :15:49.
fine-tuning had heard or technique. There is a diminishing return on | :15:49. | :15:53.
how much better she can get. You are trying to find it very small | :15:53. | :15:57.
margins of consistency of performance, but he was talking | :15:57. | :16:05.
about hundreds of a second. Keep it bent. Nope. The thing is, as your | :16:05. | :16:10.
leader on comes in, it comes in at like this, it does not push. | :16:10. | :16:16.
but that definitely felt like my foot was wrong. It did. Five it was | :16:16. | :16:24.
wrong. My foot was up, but delayed is too lengthy. -- But the leg was | :16:24. | :16:30.
too lengthy. I need a few more degrees. A slight difference of | :16:30. | :16:35.
opinion. Their relationship has changed a lot since she came to him | :16:35. | :16:43.
as a shy 11 year-old schoolgirl. She has been a world champion so | :16:43. | :16:49.
brings her own opinion. If I am not understanding or agreeing, the same | :16:49. | :16:54.
way he thinks, it is good to discuss it. Another tough session | :16:54. | :16:57.
comes to an end. Throughout Yorkshire Olympic Dreams, we will | :16:57. | :17:01.
keep returning to the pair as they work towards the London Games. Can | :17:01. | :17:05.
she master the event she has always struggled with the most? And can | :17:05. | :17:11.
have Visio prevent strains from becoming injuries which camp -- | :17:11. | :17:19.
which could threaten her Olympics? We also concentrate on Sarah | :17:19. | :17:22.
Stevenson and find out why the Chinese authorities confiscated the | :17:22. | :17:31.
Yorkshire flag from this Strath along -- triathlon champion. I am | :17:31. | :17:36.
biased, but it is well worth watching! Leeds United have brought | :17:36. | :17:41.
Fabien Delf on a loan back from Aston Villa for a month. His | :17:41. | :17:45.
arrival may soften the blow of losing their captain he is close to | :17:45. | :17:50.
completing his move to Norwich. There was a demonstration at Elland | :17:50. | :17:55.
Road last night protesting at the move. This afternoon, the Leeds | :17:55. | :17:58.
United supporters trust put out a statement urging Ken Bates to | :17:58. | :18:06.
actively look at selling the club. Look North would like to apologise | :18:06. | :18:09.
wholeheartedly for fans of Charlton Athletic, because Yorkshire and | :18:09. | :18:14.
Sheffield are out to get them! Charlton probably think they have | :18:14. | :18:18.
got it in for them, but that is not the case. In fact, they are well | :18:18. | :18:22.
known in football for being one of the friendliest London Clubs you | :18:22. | :18:25.
can visit. Last weekend at Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton | :18:25. | :18:30.
showed more that a bit of steel themselves. The blade of settled | :18:30. | :18:35.
United will be trying to cut down the -- at Sheffield United will be | :18:35. | :18:38.
trying to cut down the place between first and second, three | :18:38. | :18:42.
different corners of Yorkshire are hanging on to the result. We have | :18:42. | :18:46.
looked at this period of fixtures, it is probably on paper one of the | :18:47. | :18:51.
most difficult sections of the fixtures we have had all season. | :18:52. | :18:56.
But nothing scares us at the moment. We both expect to be challenging at | :18:56. | :19:01.
the end of the season. They have had at fantastic start and have not | :19:01. | :19:07.
blipped a couple of times and only got a couple of losses. They are | :19:07. | :19:13.
very good. But there are still 20 games to go. The confidence and | :19:13. | :19:16.
psychological boost will be more significant than anything. | :19:16. | :19:20.
Sheffield United and Charlton is a fixture which already sounds as if | :19:20. | :19:24.
it will fit into the championship next season. Unless Sheffield | :19:24. | :19:28.
Wednesday at Huddersfield Town can do something about it. Whatever | :19:28. | :19:34.
happens in south-east London tomorrow. In the skeleton, | :19:35. | :19:41.
Sheffield, Shirley Redman has picked up a another podium position. | :19:41. | :19:50.
What will you be doing at 5pm on Sunday? I am hoping -- I am helping | :19:50. | :19:55.
a cookery school... What you want me to say is I will be watching | :19:55. | :19:59.
Yorkshire Olympic Dreams. But I will be recording that! I will be | :19:59. | :20:09.
:20:09. | :20:15. | ||
Finally, we are after the pub. you getting them in? I certainly | :20:15. | :20:21.
will! We have already brought to the tale this week of the landlord | :20:21. | :20:25.
who has installed as self-service pumps. I thought that was sexist, | :20:25. | :20:31.
there should be one for gin-and- tonic as well! Tonight, we have got | :20:32. | :20:38.
10 of mac -- 10 at locals who have been turned into galleries. The Pub | :20:38. | :20:43.
Scrawl is an opportunity for local artists to show off their work and | :20:43. | :20:48.
perhaps even pick up a commission. Our reporter is live at a | :20:48. | :20:56.
Washington hotel. It is how around! It is a tough kid being in a pub. | :20:56. | :21:04.
This is not my usual choice of drinking partner, he is like -- | :21:04. | :21:11.
like a conversation. This one finishes -- this pub has got the | :21:11. | :21:18.
work featured of Warp Films, one of the most powerful film companies in | :21:18. | :21:24.
the area. When it is a part not apart? When it is an art gallery, | :21:24. | :21:29.
or maybe even a greengrocer's. People may or may not know, the | :21:29. | :21:36.
Bath Hotel used to be a crisis in the mid- 18th century. I thought, | :21:36. | :21:43.
what a great idea, I will install a greengrocer into a pub. This man is | :21:43. | :21:48.
a Sheffield calligrapher and one of 10 artists putting their work on | :21:48. | :21:52.
show in city pubs tonight. We have got a delivery van there, and on | :21:52. | :21:59.
the lemons, bitter and twisted. Sheffield has always welcomed art. | :21:59. | :22:03.
All of the pubs have been completely on board with this. It | :22:03. | :22:07.
shows that art does not necessarily have to be in galleries. All sorts | :22:07. | :22:10.
of work will be on display across the 10 pubs, with organised tours | :22:11. | :22:18.
running between them. Behind the festival, Sheffield's very own -- | :22:18. | :22:26.
very first illustrator of the stars. Most people would be in pubs rather | :22:26. | :22:30.
than art galleries, so that is where I started my work. People | :22:30. | :22:34.
would be merry, shall I say, and make a decision on art that they | :22:34. | :22:39.
would not in a gallery. Pub-goers in Sheffield tonight, be prepared | :22:39. | :22:43.
to be surprised, but be careful you do not come home with a hangover | :22:43. | :22:49.
and something that he thought looked good at the time. That is | :22:49. | :22:52.
what is going on at some of the other pubs. Back in the Washington | :22:52. | :23:00.
Hotel, Warp Films art doing some memorabilia. You might know it Four | :23:00. | :23:04.
Lions, and so you'll know about the stuffed Crowe. They have got a map | :23:04. | :23:09.
here, the locations they have featured across the city. That is | :23:09. | :23:13.
not all. Later on, they will be a chance to meet some of the actors | :23:13. | :23:19.
involved in their films, most notable of this is England, set in | :23:20. | :23:28.
the 1980s. It has a 1980s feel, soaked this bike is here for that. | :23:29. | :23:32.
This is a reiteration of one of the key set from that TV series, set in | :23:32. | :23:36.
the 1980s, a fantastically comfortable sofa, and sitting on it | :23:36. | :23:40.
are two very important guests. Shane Meadows, director of the film, | :23:41. | :23:46.
and Mark from Warp Films. What are you doing showing off your wares | :23:46. | :23:55.
here? We started it here. We started in this pub 20 years ago. | :23:55. | :23:59.
All of the gang from the record company, Warp Records, we used to | :23:59. | :24:04.
sit in his room after training and a man sponsored us. But then when | :24:04. | :24:08.
people approach us, he chose the pub but it was perfect for us. It | :24:08. | :24:13.
has been always connected to music it has got a great deal. It could | :24:13. | :24:18.
not have been a better location. What do you think, as a film | :24:18. | :24:25.
direction -- director, showing off your art in a pub? It is incredible. | :24:25. | :24:29.
I think the thing that I always loved about making films, the great | :24:29. | :24:34.
things I always thought about films is that you could buy, my art, for | :24:34. | :24:39.
a tenner at a shop. If you like a Picasso, you would have to struggle. | :24:39. | :24:46.
You are better than the castle Exmouth -- you are better than | :24:46. | :24:52.
Picasso! Art should be accessible for everyone, you can buy at 200 | :24:52. | :24:56.
million film for a tenner. The ethos of this fit into something | :24:56. | :25:01.
that I have always loved, that art should be accessible to everyone. | :25:01. | :25:07.
What better place than a sofa and TV in your local boozer? There is a | :25:07. | :25:10.
celebratory ale that has been brewed for this festival. Or while | :25:10. | :25:20.
:25:20. | :25:21. | ||
you check out the art, I might I think that is an absolutely, I | :25:21. | :25:27.
know we are not meant to be biased, but that is a brilliant idea. I you | :25:27. | :25:37.
:25:37. | :25:40. | ||
going to the pub? Will you be I have got a nice picture for year. | :25:40. | :25:46.
I know you like Whitby. Another very atmospheric one. This one is a | :25:46. | :25:53.
nice, I don't know whether it is sunrise or sunset. Tomorrow, a damp | :25:53. | :25:58.
start. Brighter later, all in all not too bad a weekend. The main | :25:58. | :26:02.
feature, not for the first time this winter will be the strength of | :26:02. | :26:08.
the wind. There could be gales tonight and tomorrow. It is | :26:08. | :26:15.
miserable affair at the moment. Overcast, mist and fog over the | :26:15. | :26:22.
fields and hills. The wind could pick up, girls in exposed places, | :26:22. | :26:26.
in the Pennines and -- gales in exposed places, in the Pennines and | :26:26. | :26:36.
:26:36. | :26:38. | ||
other areas. The sun will rise in the morning at 8:10am. Setting at | :26:38. | :26:44.
4:26pm. It is going to be a slow start tomorrow, a cloudy and damp | :26:44. | :26:48.
start of drizzle and patchy light rain. A slow improvement, very slow | :26:48. | :26:52.
improvement, edging down from the north-west during the day. The | :26:52. | :26:57.
afternoon should be brighter, sunshine and one or two showers. It | :26:57. | :27:03.
remains windy, with alert -- locally gale-force westerly wind. | :27:03. | :27:09.
Temperatures just above average but it might feel a little bit more | :27:10. | :27:17.
chilli. A similar story on Sunday with some rain at first. That clear | :27:17. | :27:21.
through the morning, and then Sunday afternoon is looking quite | :27:21. | :27:27.
promising and one or two showers. They could be win three over the | :27:28. | :27:33. |
