Good evening. Welcome to when's edition of Look North.

:00:07.:00:13.

The Yorkshire hon mooners killed in the Maldives.

:00:13.:00:17.

Jay and Emma grey from Halifax fell from a quad bike. The driver's been

:00:17.:00:22.

charged but, back in Yorkshire, Jay's mother is prepared to forgive.

:00:22.:00:28.

It is too horrific to contem play something like this might happen. -

:00:28.:00:34.

- contemplate. We have an exclusive interview in a moment.

:00:34.:00:39.

And what the budget means for Yorkshire's towns and cities. The

:00:39.:00:44.

Chancellor's promising wider WiFi access to two cities and big

:00:44.:00:47.

improvements on some rail lines. I'm reporting from Huddersfield

:00:47.:00:51.

where plans have been announced to turn this into a multimillion pound

:00:51.:00:57.

new shopping development. It turned out to be a glorious day

:00:57.:01:02.

to the day at Temple Newsam. More sunshine for many areas tomorrow.

:01:02.:01:12.
:01:12.:01:17.

Welcome to the programme. First tonight, the man driving a quad

:01:17.:01:22.

bike which crashed killing a honeymoon couple from Yorkshire has

:01:22.:01:26.

been charged in connection with their deaths. Jay and Emma Gray

:01:26.:01:29.

from Halifax had been married for just a week when they died in The

:01:29.:01:36.

Mall deefs last August. Swedish national Philip Petra was arrested.

:01:36.:01:42.

He could face the death penalty under Sharia law. But Jay's mother

:01:42.:01:48.

described that as barbaric. It was a tragedy which claimed the lives

:01:48.:01:54.

of Jay and Emma Gray. The quad bike they were on crashed killing the

:01:54.:01:57.

young couple instantly. Seven months later, Jay's mum gets the

:01:57.:02:04.

news, Filip Petre has been charged with disobedience to order. Under

:02:04.:02:11.

Sharia law, the maximum sentence is death. It is too horive I can to

:02:11.:02:16.

tor ific to contemplate that this would happen. It is not something

:02:16.:02:21.

we would want to condone or happen. Even if the death penalty is not

:02:21.:02:30.

cared out, life imprisonment is a distint possibility. Cath wants

:02:30.:02:38.

forgiveness. Two lives have already been devastated. I don't see the

:02:38.:02:43.

need for anybody else' life to be harmed. There's another family out

:02:43.:02:47.

there with pending doom over them. I still believed what happened was

:02:47.:02:52.

a tragic accident and not the result of wilful or malicious

:02:52.:02:56.

intense. What impact is this having on you and your family. It brings

:02:56.:03:01.

back all the sadness. Takes us back to the day when we heard the news.

:03:01.:03:04.

Sets us all off thinking about it again. It is not where we need to

:03:04.:03:08.

be. We want to be able to move on with our lives and put what's

:03:08.:03:12.

happened behind us. We don't want to forget Jay and Emma but we want

:03:13.:03:17.

to remember them as the lovely people they were and not in the

:03:17.:03:22.

tragic circumstances in which they died. Very little is certain in the

:03:22.:03:26.

malddeefs. Not least what will happen next to the man accused of

:03:26.:03:31.

causing Jay and Emma's deaths. What can be said for sure is that what

:03:31.:03:36.

Cath wants is forgiveness not retribution.

:03:36.:03:44.

The last time the death penalty was handed down in the Maldives was two

:03:44.:03:50.

years ago for gang murder. The then President stated he was opposed to

:03:50.:03:56.

the death pan altogethery. He was forced and replaced by Dr Mow Hamid

:03:56.:04:01.

Waheed. His views are not clear. Today's budget promises significant

:04:01.:04:04.

investment for parts of Yorkshire. The cities of Bradford and Leeds

:04:04.:04:08.

will be among ten around the UK to get ultra fast broadband.

:04:08.:04:12.

Two of our rail links between Sheffield and Manchester and

:04:12.:04:16.

between Bradford and Manchester will be upgraded so reducing

:04:16.:04:20.

journey times. Our correspondent Alan Whitehouse is in Bradford.

:04:20.:04:29.

Alan, good news for those of who -- of us who use the trains. The good

:04:29.:04:37.

news, yes. It is part of a much wider idea to updead key routes.

:04:37.:04:43.

They want to make trains run faster and increase frequency. Good news

:04:43.:04:48.

but it doesn't address the issue of overclouded old charges. We all

:04:48.:04:53.

know in this part of the world we have some of the oldest and least

:04:54.:05:00.

reliable coaches on the network. Did you say rattiest? What about

:05:00.:05:06.

that other announcement? Super-fast broadband. I'm not very

:05:06.:05:11.

technological. What does it mean? Well, it's all about connectivity.

:05:11.:05:18.

About wiring up Leeds and Bradford. There will be saturation cover WiFi,

:05:18.:05:22.

very high-speed broad band. If you have a smartphone you can get

:05:22.:05:25.

whatever information you want at the touch of a butt. It is about

:05:25.:05:28.

getting the two cities a key competitive edge.

:05:28.:05:31.

Thank you. More on the broadband announcements

:05:31.:05:36.

on the late Look North at 10.25pm. In a moment, we'll look at what the

:05:36.:05:39.

budget means for you. First, we've been to two parts of

:05:40.:05:43.

the Yorkshire to see how they've been coping with tough times.

:05:43.:05:50.

They are just 35 miles apart but their Prospects couldn't be more

:05:50.:05:54.

different. York's economy is strong and thriving. Doncaster looks to be

:05:54.:06:00.

one of the worst-hit in the country. We've investigate ed why that may

:06:00.:06:04.

be so. Cathy Killick has been number crunching in York and Phil's

:06:04.:06:06.

been looking at the books in Doncaster.

:06:07.:06:14.

In York, the youth unemployment rate is 2.5%. In Doncaster, it is

:06:14.:06:21.

.9%. The average weekly wage here is 465. In Doncaster, it is 416.

:06:21.:06:26.

That means on average, earn ears here are 65 worse off. In York,

:06:26.:06:30.

you have a better chance of getting a job. About four people are

:06:30.:06:35.

chasing each vabgapbsy. Doncaster, it is treble that with

:06:35.:06:39.

up to 12 people looking for every opening. Why should two places so

:06:39.:06:43.

close together have such different economic outlooks when on the face

:06:43.:06:48.

of it, they have so much in common? Both have a Roman heritage and

:06:48.:06:53.

ministers. Both boomed in the middle ages. York has its

:06:53.:06:57.

Knavesmire, Doncaster the ton moor. Both have leading racecourses

:06:57.:07:02.

bringing visitors and cash to their local economies. In the past, it

:07:02.:07:07.

was railways which brought economic prosperity. Both had charge works.

:07:07.:07:11.

York had chocolate factories which boomed in the post-war years. Done

:07:11.:07:14.

carser had coal employing more people in the area than anything

:07:14.:07:19.

else. Mining made its money. But, the closure of the pits hit the

:07:19.:07:24.

town hard. In a sense, it is still trying to recover. In York,

:07:24.:07:29.

chocolate mafring has declined. The Terry's factory closed. And

:07:29.:07:36.

Rowntrees, now Nestle, employs far fewer than it Z but York has found

:07:36.:07:40.

alternatives. These days, it is service industries, insurance and

:07:40.:07:43.

finance which dominate. Tourism is also crucial. It accounts for more

:07:43.:07:48.

than 10% of the city's jobs. Doncaster though, struggled to fill

:07:48.:07:53.

the gap left by coal. Many jobs which supported mining also

:07:53.:07:57.

disappeared. Today, Hatfield remains one of the few working pits

:07:57.:08:03.

left in Britain. New distribution centres have helped but the town is

:08:03.:08:07.

still reliant on thousands of public sector jobs which are now

:08:07.:08:12.

under threat. But Doncaster's workforce may not be that

:08:12.:08:17.

attractive to new businesses. Less than a fifth of people have a high

:08:17.:08:21.

level qualification. That makes it one of the wos educated workforces

:08:21.:08:26.

in the UK. 14.4% have no certificates to their name.

:08:26.:08:31.

contrast, York has one of the best educated populations in the UK. Two

:08:31.:08:34.

fifths have high level qualifications. That's double

:08:34.:08:39.

Doncaster's rate. Here, just 7.2% have no formal qualifications at

:08:39.:08:42.

all. It seems education really does matter.

:08:42.:08:47.

Perhaps that's why Doncaster's been investing heavily in teaching and

:08:47.:08:51.

learning. In reend years, the college has been expanding rapidly

:08:51.:08:56.

with plans to become a university. But, will it be enough to close the

:08:56.:09:02.

gap with places like York? That certainly is the question.

:09:02.:09:06.

Maybe to answer that is financial expert Neil Liversidge. You're the

:09:06.:09:11.

man who knows. Let's start in Doncaster. What do you think will

:09:11.:09:14.

affect that particular town. Probably the best hope for

:09:14.:09:18.

Doncaster out of this budget is the money that will be ploughed into

:09:18.:09:23.

investment. Particularly in the new electified rail links. Doncaster,

:09:23.:09:28.

as we know, has a big heritage in rail. That could, if the investment

:09:28.:09:33.

in directed right, create significant new jobs. What about

:09:33.:09:37.

tax? Doncaster is known as one of the town's that in fact has the

:09:37.:09:43.

highest number of low-paid workers? That's right. The increase in the

:09:43.:09:48.

personal allowance will definitely help lower paid workers. I don't

:09:48.:09:52.

think the change in top rate tax will make any difference whatsoever

:09:52.:09:55.

in Doncaster. At the bottom end people should benefit from the

:09:55.:10:00.

improvement in the personal allowance. Of course, with three p

:10:00.:10:05.

a litre going on fuel later in the year they may feel the pinch.

:10:05.:10:10.

thought he might have listened to pressure?. He has to find money

:10:10.:10:14.

from somewhere on the moves he's making. Because it was in train he

:10:14.:10:18.

took the easy option. He knew he wouldn't get too much flag because

:10:18.:10:22.

it had already been flagged up. We've seen rates increased on

:10:22.:10:27.

cigarettes. That will affect many of our viewers? Yes, it is.

:10:27.:10:31.

Patterns of consumption have changed. When I grew up, pretty

:10:31.:10:36.

much everybody smoked. Every year, people were smoking out of

:10:36.:10:39.

nervousness about what was going to be happen to the tax on cigarettes.

:10:39.:10:46.

It is a much smaller porgs of population now. York doing well,

:10:46.:10:51.

affluent. Part of that golden triangle. Expensive houses. What is

:10:51.:10:55.

the key thing from the bipbl et here? With Corporation Tax being

:10:56.:11:01.

reduced as it is. That will help companies and the again business

:11:01.:11:05.

measures in the budget, I think, will certainly benefit a town like

:11:05.:11:12.

York. Particularly in the white- collar areas. In areas such as

:11:12.:11:15.

video games elts. Hi-tech industries. People make a lot of

:11:15.:11:21.

money in those. They'll pay higher rates of tax. Very much the head

:11:21.:11:28.

line has been the 50% rate scrapped down to 45%. It's not as simple as

:11:28.:11:32.

that? The 50% thing has been a political football. They could have

:11:32.:11:37.

all saved themselves a big argument. It never made that much tax.

:11:37.:11:41.

Scrapping it won't lose that much tax. That's just a fight between

:11:41.:11:43.

the political parties over something which is actual ji

:11:43.:11:50.

irrelevant to 99% the population. But it starts at 41%, not 43%. The

:11:50.:11:55.

higher rate? The band in which you pay basic rate tax is narrower

:11:55.:11:59.

because the personal allowance increased at the bottom end. The

:11:59.:12:03.

threshold at which you start to pay higher rate tax has reduced. You'll

:12:04.:12:08.

pay higher rate tax now at 40% sooner.

:12:08.:12:13.

What did people think of the Budget? Sp Ieplt' 27. Unemployed. I

:12:13.:12:18.

don't believe the Budget really affects me until I get back into

:12:18.:12:23.

employment. Then I'm happy to pay my taxes again. Overall, it's half

:12:23.:12:28.

and half budget really in that respect. I like the idea of the

:12:28.:12:34.

Trans-Pennine route trains. The tax change at the top is a bit unfair.

:12:34.:12:39.

It would be better for the rich to pay more and for the poor to be

:12:39.:12:44.

better treated. It is a difficult time because of the us a ter city

:12:44.:12:50.

mish use. -- austerity measures. I can't gauge what the benefits are

:12:50.:12:53.

at the moment. It is just about releasing more money into the

:12:53.:12:57.

economy and helping small businesses. No great excitement

:12:57.:13:03.

there, is there? No, there's not. I wasn't expecting fireworks in this

:13:03.:13:08.

Budget at all. We've all learned that we're past the point where

:13:08.:13:11.

politicians solve our problems and the best that can happen when a

:13:11.:13:14.

Budget comes along is the politicians don't do anything that

:13:14.:13:18.

will seriously rock the boat and upset the economy. We're not in

:13:18.:13:23.

recession. There's nothing in this Budget which 1408 put us into

:13:23.:13:26.

recession. There are a few things I'd give a cautious welcome to. As

:13:26.:13:30.

long as there are no major shocks along the way, a year from now,

:13:30.:13:34.

we'll probably be better off now than we are.

:13:34.:13:39.

A lot of problemlies in there! Thank you.

:13:39.:13:43.

Later in the programme. A Sunday League embarrassment - the

:13:44.:13:53.

manager's assessment of Leeds United's humiliating 7-3 defeat.

:13:53.:13:57.

900 new jobs could be Creebased in Huddersfield if prance plans to

:13:57.:14:01.

double the size of the Kingsgate Shopping Centre could be approved.

:14:01.:14:05.

So far, no stores have signed up to the project: Move comes as towns

:14:05.:14:10.

and cities across Yorkshire compete fiercely for shoppers. Huddersfield

:14:10.:14:14.

says it will not be heft behind. Ian White's been for a look.

:14:14.:14:17.

They might look like the best of friends but the relationship

:14:17.:14:21.

between the owners the Huddersfield Kingsgate Shopping Centre and

:14:21.:14:24.

Kirklees Council has not always been a happy one. The a major

:14:24.:14:28.

expanse of the complex was initially thrown out by planners.

:14:28.:14:31.

Now both sides buried their differences to try to make it

:14:31.:14:35.

happen of the this month, Kingsgate's celebrating its 10th

:14:35.:14:39.

anniversary. The world of retail has changed dramatically with

:14:39.:14:43.

retailers and shoppers telling us they want more space. If plan ers

:14:43.:14:48.

agree, more space is what they'll get. This is how it will look. A 4

:14:49.:14:55.

40 million investment. To see the area that will be transforpd,

:14:55.:14:58.

managing Director Peter Everest took me on to the roof.

:14:58.:15:05.

Huddersfield is a major town in the UK. One of the to top 50 by size.

:15:05.:15:11.

Its retailing facilities are not equivalent to that size. It needs

:15:11.:15:17.

new large stores to accommodate new retailers into it. At the this

:15:17.:15:21.

moment, there is an ambition to ensure within the next four or five

:15:22.:15:28.

years, this phase of Kingsgate becomes a reality. What do shoppers

:15:28.:15:32.

think. As long as they get the right stores. Ap John Lewis or

:15:32.:15:37.

Debenhams. Something with a lot of choice. It is really nice, it is

:15:37.:15:42.

big and has a lot of shops but struggled to compete with

:15:42.:15:45.

Meadowhall. Competition's set to get more fierce. Along the road in

:15:45.:15:49.

Leeds, work is well underway at the new Trinity complex which could be

:15:49.:15:56.

open in a year's time. In stark contrast to plans for that

:15:56.:16:00.

big investment in Huddersfield, the multimillion pound refurbishment of

:16:00.:16:04.

a rather famous market, Chesterfield's historic indoor

:16:04.:16:12.

market haul has has been halted. The council is looking for is a new

:16:12.:16:17.

development after the original scheme wend overtpwuj et. Market

:16:17.:16:21.

stall holders will move into temporary accommodation for a year.

:16:21.:16:24.

We need to go back out to the market to attract other companies

:16:24.:16:29.

to come in with bids which offer best value for money for taxpayers

:16:29.:16:34.

in Chesterfield. It is a set back. But hopefully, it is just a

:16:34.:16:38.

temporary one. Hopefully we can get a better price. The number of

:16:38.:16:41.

police divers across Yorkshire could be cut by two thirds in a

:16:41.:16:46.

move to save money. Plans are being considered to merge the underwater

:16:46.:16:50.

teams from Humberside, West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire

:16:50.:16:54.

Police where numbers being cut from 28 divers to ten. That would save

:16:54.:16:57.

400,000. York University has confirmed

:16:57.:17:03.

tonight that a 22-year-old who died while skiing in France was a former

:17:03.:17:07.

student. Thomas Lynch graduated in economics last year. He was working

:17:07.:17:10.

as a holiday rep in the Alps and died yesterday after crashing into

:17:10.:17:13.

a piece of equipment. He was on his day off.

:17:13.:17:18.

The Hepworth in Wakefield's been nominated for a prestigious award.

:17:18.:17:21.

The gallery is one of ten institutions being considered for

:17:21.:17:26.

the arts fund prize. The winner gets 100,000 and the title of

:17:26.:17:30.

Museum of the Year. Good luck to them. It is a

:17:30.:17:34.

fantastic place. And so successful. It is good. Especially so soon

:17:34.:17:40.

after it opened of the Before 7.00 tonight: The Blades

:17:40.:17:48.

find their cutting edge. Sheffield United put five past Notts County.

:17:48.:17:54.

With a little help from their friends, grace and coreach their

:17:54.:18:04.
:18:04.:18:04.

cash target and get even more money. Paul's here. It was a goal-fest

:18:04.:18:08.

last night? Everywhere. But especially at Elland Road. Some

:18:08.:18:12.

won't are laughing? That is true. But some Nottingham Forest fans

:18:12.:18:17.

watching will be very happy in the south of our region. Ten goals at

:18:17.:18:21.

Elland Road. The problem for most Leeds nuetd fans is they came at

:18:21.:18:26.

the wrong end. By early in the second half they were trailing by

:18:26.:18:31.

3-1. For a brief period, Leeds showed the kind of find you'd

:18:31.:18:36.

expect with Neil Warnock in charge. Luciano Beccio scored. Then came

:18:36.:18:41.

this goal, a sizzler from Michael Brown from the end of the box. 3-3.

:18:41.:18:44.

All to play for. The problem is Nottingham Forest can fight. They

:18:44.:18:49.

certainly need to stay out of the relegation zone. They illustrated

:18:49.:18:57.

with more ruthless finishing. Every slip by Leeds was punished. Leeds

:18:57.:19:02.

suffering their heaviest ever home defeat. 7-3. Look at Neil Warnock's

:19:02.:19:07.

face. It says it all. What about the Leeds fans today? Really

:19:07.:19:15.

disappointed in the result. Expecting more from the team. It is

:19:15.:19:22.

the teething period with the new manager. Not a good result. A very

:19:22.:19:26.

unusual roult? A lot of goals. Four goals in the wrong direction. It is

:19:26.:19:32.

not good. What do you think the problem is? I'm not sure. I think

:19:32.:19:38.

the Leeds fans are quite supportive supporters. I think we'll still

:19:38.:19:42.

support them no matter what. That is true support. What about

:19:42.:19:46.

the rest of last night's football. Advantage Sheffield United in the

:19:46.:19:50.

race for promotion out of League One. The Blades producing their

:19:50.:19:59.

biggest goal tally at Notts County. Sheffield United got going with a

:19:59.:20:04.

fine team goal which finished with Stephen Quinn ghosting into the

:20:04.:20:10.

penalty bobg box and picking out the corner of the net. Meat Lou ton

:20:10.:20:16.

drilled in a 30-yarder to put the Blades in control. It was 5-0 to

:20:16.:20:24.

round off a belter of a night for Leeds. Meanwhile, Sheffield

:20:24.:20:27.

Wednesday were struggling at home to Walsall. They twice came from

:20:27.:20:32.

behind. First at Law threated the ball through six defenders. Then,

:20:32.:20:37.

could this be the most important goal of the Owls season? Medine

:20:37.:20:41.

scored to make it 2-2. Huddersfield had captain Peter Clarke to thank

:20:41.:20:50.

for a goal-saving tackle early on this Chesterfield. Then Lee Novak

:20:50.:20:54.

produced a superstrike to put Huddersfield in front. Jordan

:20:54.:20:58.

Rhodes secured the terrier's win while Chesterfield remain routed to

:20:58.:21:02.

the bottom of league one. It was a miserable night all round

in the Championship. Barnsley outplayed Crystal Palace but failed

:21:06.:21:12.

to create chances and conceded a goal in injury time.

:21:12.:21:18.

But, they remain a healthy 12 months points above reltkpwhaigs.

:21:18.:21:23.

Doncasterp heavily beaten 3-0 at home to Millwall last night and

:21:23.:21:29.

remain relegation-bound. In League Two, rot ral United --

:21:29.:21:34.

Rotherham United made a good start. Pringle with a neat finish followed

:21:34.:21:42.

by an Alex Revel strike. Mad Ford dragged themselves back into a

:21:42.:21:46.

relegation fight with their third defeat in eight days. 1-0 at Crewe.

:21:46.:21:52.

The bantams are four points above the drop zone.

:21:52.:21:56.

Loads to debate. Not least, Phil, putting you on the spot, which

:21:56.:22:00.

Yorkshire team will go up? Tricky, at the moment Sheffield

:22:00.:22:03.

United are in pole. But that can all change.

:22:03.:22:08.

It is changing every week. A fascinating season. I reckon Mr

:22:08.:22:12.

Warnock will not be pleased. His facial expressions said it all

:22:12.:22:16.

N stkpwhrl after eight gruelling days they've done it with just two

:22:16.:22:23.

days to go. Radio Leeds presenters Adam Pope and Katherine Hannah hit

:22:23.:22:25.

their fund-raising target. In fact, they've smashed it.

:22:25.:22:31.

The pair who are travelling the Leeds/Liverpool Canal in that swan

:22:31.:22:36.

shaped pedalo passed through swingbridges and down The Famous

:22:36.:22:45.

Five-rise locks. Tonight, the latest total is 18,000.... Much

:22:45.:22:50.

like the legend of the pied piper, where Adam and Katherine went today

:22:50.:22:54.

people followed. For two miles of their journey, this pair of real

:22:54.:22:58.

swans led the way. Slowly, the number of runners, cyclists and

:22:58.:23:08.
:23:08.:23:09.

supporters started to swell. Entire classes of schoolchildren, day-

:23:09.:23:14.

trippers and people just popping down to the end of their gardens.

:23:14.:23:18.

Some people walked for miles. Others waited for hours to pass on

:23:18.:23:23.

their donations to Sport Relief. And, as the swan a riefd in Bingley,

:23:23.:23:32.

there were almost 300 people waiting to cheer them on.

:23:32.:23:36.

Absolutely shattered. But I can't believe how man people have turned

:23:36.:23:41.

out to see us. It is incredible. Thank you so, so much. From the

:23:41.:23:45.

moment we left Skipton it was one person, two, 10, 50. Schools came

:23:45.:23:52.

out. Cross flats primary came out in their entirety to see us today.

:23:52.:23:59.

When they started, Adam and Katherine hoped to raise 100 for

:23:59.:24:03.

every mile. Today, it has been the biggest support so far. More than

:24:03.:24:08.

300 people turned out here in Bingley. At this rate, Katherine

:24:08.:24:12.

and Adam are hoping they smash the 20,000 mark. Tomorrow, it's

:24:12.:24:20.

Bingley to Attlee. They are still smiling. They have

:24:20.:24:24.

another painful two days to government if you want to donate

:24:24.:24:34.
:24:34.:24:50.

Finally tonight, from swans to big cats, the Yorkshire Wildlife Park

:24:50.:24:55.

near Doncaster is putting the finishing touchs to a new enclosure

:24:55.:24:58.

which will be home to three leopards. Look pretty tame! Maybe

:24:58.:25:04.

not! The animals are native to signeer ya and are on the most

:25:04.:25:08.

endangered species in the world. The new quarter of a million pound

:25:08.:25:12.

attraction will be open for Easter. The park is taking part in a

:25:12.:25:15.

breeding programme which could see any young leopard born here

:25:15.:25:20.

returned to the wild. Aren't they absolutely magnificent.

:25:20.:25:24.

Lovely. Paul. Some sunshine? Been beautiful.

:25:24.:25:29.

Touch of frost tonight. Is it warming up a bit? I think it will

:25:29.:25:37.

do. We've this weather pattern into early march, possibly into April.

:25:37.:25:44.

Potential on Sunday for 16 or 17 degrees. What about my flowers?

:25:44.:25:47.

degrees. What about my flowers? frost tonight.

:25:48.:25:54.

Not a bad one. Sunny spells. Sea fret along the coast at times. It

:25:54.:25:59.

will be a lot colder. High pressure with us. This weak weather front

:25:59.:26:02.

might bring the odd light shower in the west. Bank of England and

:26:02.:26:07.

you'll miss it. It is a basically a bright and dry picture. We should

:26:07.:26:12.

stay dry for next week as well. Not good news for the parching eastern

:26:12.:26:15.

side of our region. You can see that clearance of the cloud. It

:26:15.:26:19.

came up this afternoon. All parts have ended up on a sunny note at

:26:19.:26:23.

the end of this afternoon. Temperatures dropping away quite

:26:23.:26:29.

sharply. Just a light and variable breeze. Later, there could be mist

:26:29.:26:34.

and fog, patchy low cloud. One or two spots down to 0 Celsius.

:26:34.:26:39.

Generally in the range 1-3 Celsius A fairly widespread ground frost.

:26:39.:26:49.
:26:49.:26:49.

Even a touch of air frost in one or two spots. A grey start in places.

:26:49.:26:53.

Any mist, fog and low cloud will break up. It is a lovely day. Fine

:26:53.:26:57.

and dry with some good sunny spells. The best temperatures always in the

:26:57.:27:04.

west. There will be a brisk south- easterly bringing low cloud and sea

:27:04.:27:09.

mist in, especially later in the day. Scarborough, just 8 Celsius

:27:09.:27:14.

tomorrow. That's 46 Fahrenheit. You'll know about it if you're

:27:14.:27:19.

taking a walk in Scarborough. 14 Celsius inland. Leeds, Bradford and

:27:19.:27:24.

Sheffield up to 15. Overcast on Friday. The risk of the light

:27:24.:27:28.

shower. Weekend quiet. Variable cloud. Temperatures gradually on

:27:28.:27:33.

the rise away from the coast. worried about you. You can't get
