Welcome to Wednesday's Look North. Tonight: Concern that Yorkshire may | :00:08. | :00:11.
be sidelined ahead of next year's Tour de France. The world's biggest | :00:11. | :00:14.
cycle race will set off from Yorkshire and spend two days in | :00:14. | :00:17.
Yorkshire, but will it now be called England's Grand Depart? | :00:17. | :00:21.
The new man in charge of the Tour in Yorkshire is here. He'll give us his | :00:22. | :00:25.
first interview in just a moment. Also tonight: Six years in jail for | :00:25. | :00:27.
supplying drugs which killed a 16-year-old. | :00:27. | :00:29.
Luke Carey knew methylamphetamine had killed other drugs users in | :00:29. | :00:37.
York, but gave it to Poppy Rodgers anyway. I understand in law this may | :00:37. | :00:41.
not be murder, but given the circumstances, it feels like that to | :00:41. | :00:45.
And to celebrate 100 years of fish frying in Yorkshire, Harry has a | :00:46. | :00:49.
lesson in the perfect way to make fish and chips and couldn't have | :00:49. | :00:52.
been happier. It's been a sun-soaked 183rd | :00:52. | :00:56.
Bakewell Show and the crowds have absolutely loved it. Come back in a | :00:56. | :01:06.
:01:06. | :01:30. | ||
few minutes' time and I'll show you Welcome to the programme. First | :01:30. | :01:32.
tonight, concerns that the Government has been trying to | :01:32. | :01:35.
airbrush Yorkshire out of next year's Tour de France. Back in | :01:35. | :01:38.
January, we were celebrating that the world's biggest annual sporting | :01:38. | :01:42.
event will start here in Leeds in 2014 and then spend two days in the | :01:42. | :01:45.
Dales, Harrogate, York, Sheffield and many other parts of the region. | :01:45. | :01:49.
But now it's emerged that some wanted to market the event not as | :01:49. | :01:51.
Yorkshire's Grand Depart, but England's. The Government was even | :01:51. | :01:54.
advised not to provide public money to organisers in Yorkshire. | :01:54. | :01:57.
Tonight, the new man appointed by the Government to take charge of the | :01:57. | :02:00.
Tour here has agreed to give his first interview about this. | :02:00. | :02:06.
First, our correspondent Danni Hewson has the background. When the | :02:06. | :02:10.
route was unveiled in January, Yorkshire was propelled into the | :02:10. | :02:16.
international spotlight. Anything that could be branded was as people | :02:16. | :02:20.
woke up to the opportunity coming our way. For two days next June, one | :02:20. | :02:27.
of the world's biggest sporting events will cross peak and Dale. At | :02:27. | :02:32.
Westminster, not everyone has been convinced by the Yorkshire brand. | :02:32. | :02:35.
Some wanted the name written out completely. Visit England's first | :02:36. | :02:41.
news release mentions England 11 times and Yorkshire three times. | :02:41. | :02:48.
Minutes of a private meeting showed the Department of culture, media | :02:48. | :02:52.
transport had decided they would the event England Grand Depart. Welcome | :02:52. | :02:58.
to Yorkshire won the dead. It was not the government's preferred bid | :02:58. | :03:06.
and they have now got involved -- the bid. It was well supported by | :03:06. | :03:12.
Leeds City Council. It provided the opportunity to showcase the | :03:12. | :03:17.
wonderful county of Yorkshire. We do not want to miss out on that. | :03:17. | :03:27.
year's Tour de France was the 100. UK sport has advised not handing | :03:27. | :03:30.
over public money to Yorkshire because it did not have confidence | :03:30. | :03:35.
in its ability to deliver. That issue at least appears to have been | :03:35. | :03:40.
resolved with the government pledging 10 million if our councils | :03:40. | :03:44.
for the rest of the bill estimated at 11 million. There are fears it | :03:44. | :03:50.
is more than some councils had originally pledged. We have seen | :03:50. | :03:55.
what the council has played so far but I have concerns that there is an | :03:55. | :04:00.
unknown sum that we may have to come up with. Could Yorkshire suffer a | :04:00. | :04:04.
double whammy of having to pick up the tab without all of the benefits | :04:04. | :04:13.
of having its name on the bill? With us now is Sir Rodney Walker. | :04:13. | :04:16.
He's just been appointed to chair the committee which will organise | :04:16. | :04:19.
the Tour de France here next year. It's his first interview since he | :04:19. | :04:22.
got the job. The whole reason for bidding for | :04:22. | :04:28.
this was to market Yorkshire round the world. There is no question of | :04:28. | :04:32.
the event being taken over by visit England. They want to be involved of | :04:32. | :04:38.
course. It is an English event taking place in Yorkshire. But what | :04:38. | :04:43.
I can absolutely categorically say is that the branding for the event | :04:43. | :04:49.
remains Yorkshire's Grand Depart. have a press release issued recently | :04:49. | :04:59.
:04:59. | :05:00. | ||
and it is to -- two pages. It only mentions Yorkshire ones. I have been | :05:00. | :05:03.
in conversation several times with the chief executive of visit | :05:03. | :05:07.
England. I am waiting for them to put a proposal to me for how they | :05:07. | :05:12.
will come up with a marketing campaign complementing the campaign | :05:12. | :05:17.
in Yorkshire. Welcome to Yorkshire holds the contract. They won the | :05:17. | :05:21.
contract. Of course they are going to be the principal brand on the | :05:21. | :05:26.
event. There are two opening days in Yorkshire. The third day is in the | :05:26. | :05:31.
south of England, Cambridge and Essex and the Olympic Stadium and | :05:31. | :05:40.
then London and visit England will clearly want to play a part in that. | :05:40. | :05:43.
The government were advised not to provide public funding. Can you | :05:44. | :05:47.
confirm that the government will give us the 10 million of public | :05:47. | :05:52.
money to pay for the Tour de France in Yorkshire? Not all of the 10 | :05:52. | :05:57.
million is going towards the Tour de France in Yorkshire. Some of it is | :05:57. | :06:00.
going to Cambridge and Essex. Most of the expense for the third day is | :06:00. | :06:06.
being funded, 5 million, by transport for London. The bulk of | :06:06. | :06:12.
the 10 million is going towards the two days in Yorkshire together with | :06:12. | :06:19.
the 11 million of the Yorkshire local authorities budget. Will it be | :06:19. | :06:25.
enough from them? We have got to make sure it is enough. What is | :06:26. | :06:32.
important, the last time the Grand Depart took place here in the UK was | :06:32. | :06:37.
in 2007. It was in London and Kent. It has been estimated that as a | :06:37. | :06:43.
result of the investment something in excess of 100 million was raised | :06:43. | :06:47.
for inward investment. That is the approach we are taking here. The | :06:47. | :06:52.
money has to be seen not as a cost but as an investment in creating | :06:52. | :06:59.
inward investment for Yorkshire. have no new years. You tend to go | :06:59. | :07:03.
into businesses when there is a problem. There was a disconnect | :07:03. | :07:10.
between the fact that the government had backed a Scottish bid and then | :07:10. | :07:15.
Welcome to Yorkshire went out and secured the event. The government of | :07:15. | :07:20.
pragmatic. As you said, it is the world's biggest annual sporting | :07:20. | :07:25.
event. It has to be a success, not just for Yorkshire, but for the | :07:25. | :07:28.
whole country. That is why the government sensibly have agreed to | :07:28. | :07:37.
support it. Thank you. Next tonight: A man who gave a | :07:37. | :07:41.
teenage girl in York a drug which killed her has been jailed for six | :07:41. | :07:44.
years and five months. A judge heard Luke Carey had not | :07:44. | :07:47.
meant to harm 16-year-old Poppy Rodgers who died last year. But he | :07:47. | :07:51.
had known the same drug had killed a man not long before in the city. | :07:51. | :07:54.
Here's our crime correspondent John Cundy. Luke Carey seen here in the | :07:54. | :07:57.
centre of the picture had been on bail since admitting supplying Poppy | :07:57. | :08:00.
Rodgers with a drug he had taken himself. The tragedy happened in | :08:00. | :08:06.
April last year at a friend's home in York where poppy had been | :08:06. | :08:09.
living. She collapsed and was rushed to hospital where she died a short | :08:10. | :08:13.
time later. The court heard that Luke Carey never meant to harm Poppy | :08:14. | :08:19.
Rodgers but he had given her the amphetamine laced drug knowing that | :08:19. | :08:27.
the same drug had killed a man in York a year earlier. Poppy | :08:27. | :08:31.
Rodgers's family paid tribute to their only child after seeing Luke | :08:31. | :08:41.
:08:41. | :08:41. | ||
Carey jails. You would have to know Poppy . She was naturally beautiful | :08:41. | :08:46.
and full of fun and totally trusting. There is now a hole in the | :08:46. | :08:49.
world that will be there for ever which should have been filled by her | :08:49. | :08:54.
magic. I understand in law this might not be murder. But given the | :08:54. | :09:00.
circumstances, it certainly feels like that to us. He played with | :09:00. | :09:07.
other people's lies that night and instead of telling Poppy that the | :09:07. | :09:12.
life she was choosing to have an sending her away from that, he | :09:12. | :09:17.
encouraged her. She was a child and naive. He exploited that. | :09:17. | :09:22.
Luke Carey on his way to prison this afternoon carrying with him the | :09:22. | :09:25.
responsibility for the death of a teenage girl who had not been able | :09:25. | :09:34.
to resist the drugs he pushed on her. | :09:34. | :09:38.
Later on Look North: It's one of life's essential lessons, but there | :09:38. | :09:42.
are calls for more children to learn to swim as a survey reveals in | :09:42. | :09:44.
Yorkshire many children can't. Godfrey Bloom, one of Yorkshire's | :09:44. | :09:47.
more controversial politicians, has spent the day defending himself | :09:47. | :09:50.
after saying taxpayers' money shouldn't be sent to "Bongo Bongo | :09:50. | :09:56.
Land". The UK Independence Party MEP was talking about overseas aid. | :09:56. | :10:01.
Tonight he's said he regrets causing offence. Reaction in a moment. | :10:01. | :10:09.
First, here's what he said. How we can possibly be giving 1 billion a | :10:09. | :10:19.
month to Bongo Bongo Land to buy apartments in Paris, Ferrari 's... | :10:19. | :10:22.
We're joined now by our political editor Len Tingle. Len, these | :10:22. | :10:26.
comments have certainly caused offence, haven't they? He argues he | :10:26. | :10:32.
was making a serious point, that he was not being racist at all when he | :10:32. | :10:37.
called countries that receive UK aid Bongo Bongo Land. The only people | :10:37. | :10:42.
that were causing any sort of outcry about it were left-wing journalists | :10:42. | :10:46.
from the Guardian or from the BBC. But criticism has been flowing in. | :10:46. | :10:52.
We spoke to a Yorkshire campaigner for African aid. First, here is what | :10:52. | :10:57.
Godfrey Bloom had to say as soon as the Guardian came out. There is no | :10:58. | :11:02.
such place as bunga bunga land so I do not see how I could upset anybody | :11:02. | :11:09.
by referring to a place that does not exist -- Bongo Bongo Land. I do | :11:09. | :11:11.
not see how anybody could be offended by something which does not | :11:12. | :11:18.
exist. My daughter is from South Africa and obviously luckily she is | :11:18. | :11:24.
only nine so she does not understand these comments at the moment. But it | :11:24. | :11:29.
is going to breed racism. People this high up talking like that. | :11:29. | :11:35.
People will think it is acceptable to use that terminology and it is | :11:35. | :11:38.
breeding racism. Godfrey Bloom has been a controversial figure over the | :11:38. | :11:43.
ten years he has been an MEP. He has raised a few eyebrows particularly | :11:43. | :11:48.
from women for remarks he has made. He said that small businesses should | :11:48. | :11:54.
be able to turn down women for jobs because of them being child-bearing | :11:54. | :11:58.
age. He said he admired Yorkshire women because they put the food on | :11:58. | :12:02.
the table. He was disciplined by the European Union for refusing to | :12:02. | :12:07.
apologise for calling a German MP a Nazi. Normally his party has gone | :12:07. | :12:11.
along with this but that was before they were rising in the polls. They | :12:11. | :12:16.
hope to win a majority of the seats in next year's European elections. | :12:16. | :12:21.
His party leader has said to him, you must never use the words Bongo | :12:21. | :12:26.
Bongo Land again. He has agreed to that. A little while ago, he | :12:26. | :12:30.
apologised for any offence he might have made. | :12:30. | :12:40.
:12:40. | :12:41. | ||
More of the day's news now. Police believe the body of a missing woman | :12:41. | :12:44.
from Manchester has been hidden in the Thirsk area of North Yorkshire. | :12:44. | :12:48.
Officers believe the body of Rania Alayed may be near the A19 between | :12:48. | :12:50.
the junctions for the A172 and the A1. The mother of three disappeared | :12:50. | :12:54.
in June. Two men have been charged with her murder. Detectives are also | :12:54. | :12:58.
trying to trace a camper van they think is linked to her | :12:58. | :13:00.
disappearance. A rottweiler dog has been destroyed | :13:00. | :13:02.
after attacking a two-year-old girl in South Yorkshire yesterday. The | :13:02. | :13:06.
toddler was attacked near her home in Rawmarsh by the family pet which | :13:06. | :13:11.
is thought to have been on a lead at the time. The girl is still in | :13:11. | :13:13.
hospital tonight with serious injuries to her head and leg. | :13:13. | :13:16.
Planning permission's been granted for a replacement for the Abbey | :13:16. | :13:19.
Leisure Centre in Selby which was destroyed by a fire last year. The | :13:19. | :13:22.
new development will include two swimming pools, a gym and | :13:22. | :13:26.
all-weather sports pitches. The new centre could be open by Christmas | :13:26. | :13:34.
next year. Did you know that fewer children in | :13:34. | :13:38.
Yorkshire learn to swim at school than anywhere else in England? Now a | :13:38. | :13:40.
grandmother from Conisbrough in South Yorkshire whose eight-year-old | :13:40. | :13:43.
grandson drowned has launched a campaign to make sure all primary | :13:43. | :13:46.
school pupils learn to swim at an early age. Here's Phil Bodmer. | :13:46. | :13:52.
Tributes left on the banks of the canal where Matthew died almost two | :13:52. | :13:57.
years ago. The eight-year-old had been enjoying the last few days of | :13:57. | :14:00.
the school holidays when he fell into the water picking blackberries. | :14:00. | :14:06.
For his grandmother the memories are still raw. The police came to us and | :14:06. | :14:15.
said, he has drowned in the canal. He had not learned to swim. W once | :14:15. | :14:25.
primary schools to begin swimming lessons sooner -- his grandmother | :14:25. | :14:31.
wants primary schools. All it would take is a narrow week. According to | :14:32. | :14:36.
a census, 32% of parents in Yorkshire say that their children | :14:36. | :14:44.
have swimming lessons at school. It is the lowest in England. 44% of | :14:44. | :14:49.
parents say that their kids cannot swim 25 metres. Prince William | :14:50. | :14:57.
patron of the swimming Association is also supporting calls for | :14:57. | :15:01.
swimming lessons to be accessible. Drowning is one of the most common | :15:02. | :15:05.
causes of accidental death in England. Some of the tragedies could | :15:05. | :15:10.
be averted by making sure every child is able to swim. | :15:10. | :15:14.
government says swimming is an important skill for life and under | :15:14. | :15:18.
its new curriculum primary school pupils will still have to learn to | :15:18. | :15:24.
swim at least 25 metres. With many public schools closing like this one | :15:24. | :15:33.
last week, that may be easier said than done -- public pools. If I | :15:33. | :15:39.
could, I would change places with him in a heartbeat. For a | :15:39. | :15:42.
heartbroken grandmother, any measures that can prevent the loss | :15:42. | :15:52.
of another young life by drowning has to be worth it. Incredibly brave | :15:52. | :15:56.
of her to make such an emotional appeal. | :15:56. | :16:00.
Before 7pm: We've got last night's football action, including the Merry | :16:00. | :16:03.
Millers beating their Sheffield neighbours for the first time in | :16:03. | :16:09.
decades. In a few minutes, I will tell you how to make the perfect | :16:09. | :16:18.
fish and chips. These are ones I prepared earlier. | :16:18. | :16:26.
It's been pulling in crowds to the Peak District for nearly 200 years. | :16:26. | :16:28.
It has always been one of my favourites. We're talking about the | :16:28. | :16:31.
Bakewell Show. Some agricultural shows elsewhere may have been | :16:31. | :16:33.
struggling and even closing altogether, but not in North | :16:33. | :16:35.
Derbyshire. Kate Bradbrook is there for us tonight. | :16:35. | :16:40.
Welcome to the show ring at the Bakewell Show. This is where the | :16:40. | :16:44.
action has been going on today and will again tomorrow. The weather has | :16:44. | :16:49.
been perfect. Thousands of people are expected here again tomorrow. | :16:49. | :16:53.
Despite it being a traditional family day out, others similar shows | :16:53. | :16:58.
have struggled and closed. What is the secret to this success? | :16:58. | :17:08.
:17:08. | :17:14. | ||
A slab of tradition, a dash of surprise. A little bit like the | :17:14. | :17:19.
town's eponymous pudding, you need all sorts of ingredients to hook up | :17:19. | :17:24.
a perfect Bakewell Show -- cook up. Get it right and it is an | :17:24. | :17:28.
international success. I think I am really seeing the real Britain and | :17:28. | :17:31.
the lovely countryside and all of the bits that most Americans never | :17:31. | :17:37.
get to see. I feel privileged. Bakewell is very picturesque. Right | :17:37. | :17:42.
out of a storybook. It is wonderful. The preparation takes months and not | :17:42. | :17:48.
just for the organisers. This farm in Bakewell is the very definition | :17:48. | :17:54.
of a family run business. While Tom makes the products, his brother is | :17:54. | :17:58.
in the town selling them. They are past winners at the Bakewell Show | :17:59. | :18:03.
but there is more than pride at stake here. It is good for the town. | :18:03. | :18:09.
Brings in tourists. For us, there are a lot of local businesses that | :18:09. | :18:13.
go to the show and it is a shop window for our products. Good | :18:13. | :18:19.
marketing. Trying to sell and promote our business. Over the last | :18:19. | :18:21.
few years, several large agricultural shows have gone to the | :18:22. | :18:29.
wall. Bakewell continues to thrive. Yesterday it began tentative steps | :18:29. | :18:33.
to becoming a three-day show with an extra equestrian day. It is not all | :18:33. | :18:37.
plain sailing. Last year the show made a loss of tens of thousands of | :18:37. | :18:43.
pounds preparing for wet weather which ironically did not arrive. | :18:43. | :18:46.
Hard graft and careful financial management of the other ingredients | :18:46. | :18:50.
needed to keep the show alive and without it local businesses say they | :18:50. | :18:56.
would suffer. For people like these brothers, it is still the most | :18:56. | :19:03.
important shop window of the year. Joining me now is the show manager. | :19:03. | :19:08.
How has it been today? Fantastic. Could not have wished for a better | :19:08. | :19:13.
day. The weather has been perfect. People have flocked. I told Mike | :19:13. | :19:17.
colleagues I was going to do an interview with a big smile on my | :19:17. | :19:22.
face. You lost money last year. How do you make sure that does not | :19:22. | :19:27.
happen again? Strict financial management. Keep a very close eye on | :19:27. | :19:32.
the finances. And try and get the cash flow going earlier than normal. | :19:32. | :19:39.
The weather is unpredictable. How do you account for that? You don't. At | :19:39. | :19:45.
Bakewell, we are used to it. We get washed out or sunshine and lovely | :19:45. | :19:51.
weather. We just cope with it. Plenty more to see tomorrow. Sheep, | :19:51. | :19:54.
horses and maybe even a Bakewell pudding. | :19:54. | :20:03.
Looks great. Sport now and the first week of the | :20:03. | :20:06.
new football season means the League Cup is back. But I'm afraid Bradford | :20:06. | :20:09.
City's dreams of a return to Wembley have ended already. | :20:09. | :20:13.
But their loss may be Huddersfield Town's gain. And what a night it was | :20:13. | :20:16.
for Rotherham United which is where Paul Ogden starts his round-up. | :20:16. | :20:20.
A full house and a delayed kick-off to get them all in. Sheffield | :20:20. | :20:27.
Wednesday winger probably remains he had not bothered. He was sent off | :20:27. | :20:32.
for head-butting in the closing stages. Before that, a cracking | :20:32. | :20:40.
South Yorkshire show including three memorable goals. Ben Pringle's | :20:40. | :20:44.
powered rivals equalised by a curling free kick for Wednesday. | :20:44. | :20:52.
Shortly after, they went back into the lead at 2-1. The first home | :20:52. | :20:59.
victory over Sheffield Wednesday 437 years. We whizz believed we could | :20:59. | :21:07.
win it. But we knew how tough it be -- for 37 years. The rivalry between | :21:07. | :21:12.
Huddersfield town and Radford city is no less intense but there was | :21:12. | :21:17.
little hostility on view in an entertaining clash. The star was | :21:17. | :21:22.
James Vaughan. His double strike decided the contest. Bradford hit | :21:22. | :21:27.
back late on through their equivalent star striker. Like other | :21:27. | :21:33.
first team is, he was only deployed as a substitute on the night. | :21:33. | :21:41.
had your time again, would you throw them on earlier? No. 60 minutes to | :21:41. | :21:49.
make those changes. That was the plan. Don Caster through as well. At | :21:49. | :21:56.
Rochdale's expense. Barnes Dale's name also goes into Thursday's draw. | :21:56. | :22:00.
They needed a penalty shoot out to get past Scunthorpe. Sheffield | :22:00. | :22:05.
United are out. York city lost at home to Burnley. Enough said, | :22:06. | :22:11.
really. One more first round tie left for | :22:11. | :22:19.
us. Leeds play Chesterfield tonight at Elland Road. There's commentary | :22:19. | :22:23.
from both biased points of view. BBC Radio Sheffield are firmly in the | :22:23. | :22:26.
Spireites' corner and BBC Radio Leeds are with the Whites. Look | :22:26. | :22:27.
North is absolutely neutral, of course. | :22:27. | :22:31.
Fish, chips, scraps and mushy peas. I bet that has got you hungry. It's | :22:31. | :22:35.
still the meal most of us are desperate for when we are hungry. | :22:35. | :22:39.
Well, today I've been to find out how to make the perfect fish and | :22:39. | :22:41.
chips. We'll sample Harry's handiwork in a | :22:41. | :22:44.
moment. But the reason for Harry's job swap is because the main | :22:44. | :22:47.
headquarters for fish fryers is here in Yorkshire and today they're | :22:47. | :22:51.
celebrating a special anniversary. The National Federation of fish fry | :22:51. | :22:59.
is in Leeds is 100. So too is Edna. Congratulations, 100 years young. | :22:59. | :23:06.
How much for fish and chips? Twopence hate me. Here they learn | :23:06. | :23:16.
:23:16. | :23:21. | ||
the business. -- twopence halfpenny. Try and get six ounce. Six ounces on | :23:21. | :23:28.
the bone. Well done. That is more luck than anything else. This is the | :23:28. | :23:33.
starting product and this is the end product. We want to take the skin | :23:33. | :23:38.
off, Rumble beeper Tate is. Then we want to take off any blemishes so we | :23:38. | :23:48.
cut out any blemishes. -- rumble the potatoes. There are fewer fish and | :23:48. | :23:54.
chip shops these days but it remains the country's favourite dish. | :23:54. | :24:04.
:24:04. | :24:04. | ||
frying in palm oil which most of the country uses but there are still a | :24:04. | :24:07.
significant demand for beef dripping. Yorkshire is the main area | :24:07. | :24:17.
:24:17. | :24:18. | ||
for that. We are about to batter. Here we go. They goes in. -- it goes | :24:18. | :24:28.
:24:28. | :24:30. | ||
in, over. Lost half my fish! The dark side goes in first. Here we go. | :24:30. | :24:36.
There we are. Back to Edna and she certainly knows what she wants. | :24:36. | :24:44.
Salt, ketchup and the taste test. Is it good? I think it is delicious. | :24:44. | :24:52.
Thank you very much. Beds and I liked them. We will do the taste | :24:52. | :24:58.
test now but macro Edna like them. Gorgeous. Reheated in the BBC | :24:58. | :25:05.
microwave. This is no good for my diet. I have a question. Where are | :25:05. | :25:11.
the bits? Mushy peas, where are they? ! We will eat while you do the | :25:11. | :25:21.
:25:21. | :25:44. | ||
in charge to let me stay on the walls and take the photo. What a | :25:44. | :25:49.
beautiful place we live in. Keep the pictures coming in. Tomorrow, it is | :25:49. | :25:56.
going to be another warm day. Greater risk of catching the shower | :25:56. | :26:04.
tomorrow. Our weather is dominated by a ridge of high pressure. Patchy | :26:04. | :26:07.
rain and drizzle coming in from the West. It should brighten again on | :26:07. | :26:14.
Friday. We have had some cloud but also decent spells of sunshine. It | :26:14. | :26:17.
is a nice evening. Dry and bright this evening. Overnight, it looks | :26:17. | :26:25.
like it will stay dry. Last night, it went down to four degrees in the | :26:25. | :26:35.
:26:35. | :26:35. | ||
Dales. Cool once again tonight. I think it will be lower than these | :26:35. | :26:40.
temperatures in many places. A bit of patchy mist and fog developing | :26:40. | :26:50.
:26:50. | :26:57. | ||
that it felt a bit autumnal. It may well tomorrow as well. But that will | :26:57. | :27:01.
lift and there will be sunshine on the cards. In the afternoon, as the | :27:01. | :27:07.
cloud up, there could be a few showers. In the sunshine in | :27:07. | :27:13.
between, it will feel warm. Warmer than today with a light breeze. We | :27:13. | :27:19.
could get up to 22 degrees. On Friday, after a cloudy start it will | :27:19. | :27:24. |
