Welcome to Friday's Look North. On the programme tonight: A new warning | :00:05. | :00:09.
about the dangers of drinking whilst pregnant. | :00:09. | :00:11.
Doctors in Bradford prove for the first time that binge drinking | :00:11. | :00:14.
significantly increases the risk of having a small baby. We know this | :00:14. | :00:22.
links very clearly to having more problems when the baby is born or | :00:22. | :00:26.
breathing problems or developmental problems as the baby grows up. Even | :00:26. | :00:30.
carrying onto adult life. Also tonight: Told to expect | :00:31. | :00:39.
separate nightclub attacks. And we go backstage with the Kaiser | :00:39. | :00:42.
Chiefs ahead of tonight's homecoming gig. An overcast afternoon, but what | :00:42. | :00:51.
is the weekend looking like? Contrast in fortunes at Wheen | :00:51. | :00:58.
Saturday and Sunday. —— between Saturday and Sunday. | :00:58. | :01:05.
Good evening and welcome to Look North. A major study in Bradford has | :01:05. | :01:09.
shown for the first time that women who binge drink when they're | :01:09. | :01:12.
pregnant are more likely to give birth to smaller babies. | :01:12. | :01:17.
The study looked in particular at the drinking habits of women in the | :01:17. | :01:21.
fourth to sixth months of pregnancy — or the second trimester. | :01:21. | :01:23.
Researchers studied the alcohol habits of more than 11,000 mums | :01:23. | :01:27.
across the city between 2007 and 2010. Alcohol consumption was rare | :01:27. | :01:34.
among Asian mothers but more than 40% of white British mums drank | :01:34. | :01:40.
during pregnancy. In a moment we'll find out what the city is doing to | :01:40. | :01:44.
tackle the problem, but first Joe Inwood reports on the survey's | :01:44. | :01:50.
findings. At eight months old, this baby is | :01:50. | :01:54.
doing well. He was born at healthy £8. His mum says he is | :01:54. | :02:00.
well—behaved, more interested in playing with our cameras and crying. | :02:00. | :02:04.
His chances have been improved by his mum's behaviour, not just in how | :02:05. | :02:11.
she is bringing him up but how she brought him into the world. Once I | :02:11. | :02:18.
found out I was pregnant I stopped drinking. I didn't carry on | :02:18. | :02:24.
drinking, and cuts down slowly, I just quit. It was the first decision | :02:24. | :02:31.
I thought of. Not everyone makes that choice. This ground—breaking | :02:31. | :02:37.
study found 3.1% of mums drank over five units at a time. There are | :02:37. | :02:42.
babies were 60% more likely to be small. With one in ten underweight | :02:42. | :02:50.
babies linked to excess alcohol. This is really important new | :02:50. | :02:54.
evidence. Drinking alcohol has a bad effect on your baby, but what we | :02:54. | :02:58.
haven't been able to demonstrate before is having occasional episodes | :02:58. | :03:01.
of binge drinking on the effect of the baby. This is demonstrating a | :03:01. | :03:08.
clear link between binge drinking and adverse effect on the baby. The | :03:08. | :03:14.
advice to avoid alcohol while pregnant is not new, and yet people | :03:14. | :03:20.
still drink. A lot of parents don't see the consequences until they have | :03:20. | :03:23.
the baby. They don't see it as a problem. We just tried to get that | :03:23. | :03:29.
message across that it can affect the baby, the baby's weight, | :03:29. | :03:35.
development and growth. We are trying to get that across to the | :03:35. | :03:43.
parents. But in Bradford and right across our region, thousands do not | :03:43. | :03:46.
take on board the message. With their babies bearing the cost. | :03:46. | :03:54.
Let's talk to Doctor Duncan Cooper, one of the authors of that report, | :03:54. | :03:58.
who works in public health for Bradford Council. We have known for | :03:58. | :04:02.
a long time that tricking during pregnancy is not good. How | :04:02. | :04:07.
significant are these findings? What we have shown here, this is | :04:07. | :04:12.
researching a very big group of women in Bradford, there is a clear | :04:12. | :04:16.
link between binge drinking, five units of alcohol in one session, | :04:16. | :04:22.
that could be too large glasses of wine —— two large glasses of wine. | :04:22. | :04:29.
About a 70% increase in the chances of having a small baby, which is | :04:29. | :04:32.
important, because small babies are more likely to have respiratory | :04:32. | :04:38.
problems, infections after birth. If there is a lot of binge drinking | :04:38. | :04:41.
during pregnancy, there could be effect which could affect the rest | :04:41. | :04:49.
of the baby 's life. 40% of British women drank through pregnancy, 3% of | :04:49. | :04:54.
those drank heavily, and shrinking. —— inch drinking. A lot of women do | :04:54. | :05:01.
not know they are pregnant in the first month or so, and if that is | :05:01. | :05:05.
the case, it is important for them not to panic and have a chat with | :05:05. | :05:10.
their GP. Alcohol is a big part of our society, it is the way we | :05:10. | :05:18.
socialise and make friends. Most adults, they drink anyway. It is | :05:18. | :05:20.
just a habit that carries on into pregnancy. What we need to make sure | :05:20. | :05:25.
we do this research and keep the message out. There is a bit of | :05:25. | :05:31.
confusion, because bin shrinking when you are pregnant means | :05:31. | :05:34.
something very different. Two large glasses of wine, a lot of people | :05:34. | :05:43.
might consider that to be moderate. This is a definition of binge | :05:43. | :05:51.
drinking that we use. If you're drinking what seems not very much | :05:51. | :05:55.
alcohol, five units, can be detrimental to health. Although | :05:55. | :06:00.
previously, people think of binge drinking as this two day session, | :06:00. | :06:07.
within research purposes we are looking at levels of alcohol that | :06:07. | :06:10.
can have those effects. Whether you think about it as binge drinking or | :06:10. | :06:15.
just a few drinks at home, women need to remember to watch those | :06:16. | :06:22.
units. Doctor Duncan Cooper, thank you very much. | :06:22. | :06:27.
Sheffield Wednesday's star footballer Gary Madine is likely to | :06:27. | :06:31.
be sent to jail, after he was found guilty of assaulting two fans in two | :06:31. | :06:35.
separate attacks at nightclubs in the city. During his trial in Leeds | :06:35. | :06:38.
the jury heard Madine had a previous history of violence at his former | :06:38. | :06:41.
club Carlisle United. But Sheffield Wednesday has refused to comment | :06:41. | :06:45.
after the hearing on his future at the club. Our crime correspondent | :06:45. | :06:50.
reports. Gary Madine, arriving at court on | :06:50. | :06:52.
the final day of his trial. Sheffield Wednesday's controversial, | :06:52. | :06:57.
flamboyant striker, signed for £400,000 from Carlisle United. A man | :06:57. | :07:02.
with a past reputation for his short temper. Described in court by the | :07:02. | :07:07.
prosecution as an old—fashioned English centre forward, well aware | :07:07. | :07:14.
of the power of his frame. But in February and March last year, that | :07:14. | :07:19.
power and temper, led to his punching unconscious two men in | :07:19. | :07:30.
separate nightclub incidents. And that, the jury was told, was not | :07:30. | :07:37.
all. Three years ago, Gary Madine had knocked another man unconscious | :07:37. | :07:40.
when he was refused a drink at a pub. He admitted causing his victim | :07:40. | :07:44.
actual bodily harm. During the trial, the prosecution called Gary | :07:44. | :07:53.
Madine: After one incident, he was said to have become agitated with | :07:53. | :08:00.
police, saying: Later he admitted: Player Mac's —— Gary Madine's | :08:00. | :08:08.
football career is unclear at the moment. Sheffield Wednesday have | :08:08. | :08:14.
refused to make any comment, but the judge told the player that immediate | :08:14. | :08:20.
jail is very likely when he returns to the court next month for | :08:20. | :08:27.
sentence. Gary Madine, allowed bail, was hurried away from the court this | :08:27. | :08:34.
afternoon. Two seasons ago, he had been Sheffield Wednesday's top | :08:34. | :08:37.
scorer. Tonight, his prospects couldn't be much bleaker. | :08:37. | :08:41.
Later on Look North: Reaping the benefits of a long hot summer. | :08:41. | :08:44.
Yorkshire's vineyard owners expect their best ever harvest thanks to | :08:44. | :08:54.
perfect weather conditions. A woman from Bradford is today | :08:54. | :08:57.
giving evidence about the murder of her partner in America on the 20th | :08:57. | :09:00.
anniversary of his death. Gary Colley was shot dead in a car at a | :09:00. | :09:04.
secluded highway rest area while on holiday in Florida. Margaret Jagger, | :09:04. | :09:07.
who survived the attack, is delivering her victim impact | :09:07. | :09:10.
statement as lawyers try to extend the twenty—seven year life sentence | :09:10. | :09:18.
tariff given to gunman Aundra Akins. Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, | :09:18. | :09:21.
has been in Barnsley today. Crowds gathered in the rain as he | :09:21. | :09:24.
officially opened the Barnsley Pals Centenary Square by unveiling a | :09:24. | :09:29.
plaque. It's part of the newly revamped area outside the town hall. | :09:29. | :09:32.
The fountains and gardens are being named after the men who died serving | :09:32. | :09:36.
their country in the First World War as part of the group of soldiers | :09:36. | :09:41.
known as the Barnsley Pals. Archaeologists have discovered | :09:41. | :09:43.
evidence of the medieval church on King's Square in York. The find was | :09:43. | :09:47.
made following works to transform the square as part of council plans | :09:47. | :09:52.
to improve the city centre. The discoveries will now be carefully | :09:52. | :09:58.
been voted Yorkshire's most magnificent attraction, in an online | :09:58. | :10:03.
poll. The open air gallery near Wakefield displays work by artists | :10:03. | :10:06.
including Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth. Just under 5,000 people | :10:06. | :10:10.
voted for their favourite Yorkshire attraction. The Yorkshire Wildlife | :10:10. | :10:14.
Park came second in the poll, followed by Flamingoland and North | :10:14. | :10:22.
Yorkshire Moors Railway. I very good choice. Party conference season | :10:22. | :10:28.
starts this weekend with the Liberal Democrats gathering in Glasgow. The | :10:28. | :10:36.
party leader, faces a tough time with his party feeling poorly in the | :10:36. | :10:42.
opinion polls. He has been speaking to Tim Iredale, ahead of the start | :10:42. | :10:46.
of the Liberal Democrat Conference — and a new series of Sunday Politics. | :10:46. | :10:54.
What has he been saying? He could sit in the House of Commons, but not | :10:54. | :10:59.
as a Liberal Democrat, over controversial comments he made about | :10:59. | :11:03.
Israel. That has all changed now, because I spoke to Nick Clegg, Lib | :11:03. | :11:09.
Dem leader, he confirmed that David Ward's suspension will be lifted and | :11:09. | :11:14.
he will be able to set as a Liberal Democrat once again, even though Mr | :11:14. | :11:17.
Clegg is clearly not happy with some of the language he used. To imply | :11:17. | :11:23.
suggest that somehow all people in the Jewish community are somehow | :11:23. | :11:28.
responsible for some of the terrible things that have happened, was | :11:28. | :11:34.
offensive and wrong and repeated. That's why the decision was made to | :11:34. | :11:36.
suspend the whip temporarily from him. But he will be allowed back in? | :11:36. | :11:44.
Absolutely, a temporary spent seven —— temporary suspension means that | :11:45. | :11:50.
he will be allowed back in at some point. We will also be debating the | :11:50. | :11:57.
£11,000 spent on aid. Could that be better spent back home? Also, Joey | :11:57. | :12:07.
Sutcliffe, the former sports minister, will beginning his view on | :12:07. | :12:10.
whether the 2020 two World Cup should be held in summer or winter | :12:10. | :12:23.
in Qatar. The long hot summer has already | :12:23. | :12:26.
boosted the region's tourism. And now many farmers are expecting to | :12:26. | :12:29.
reap the benefits as well, with bumper crops expected. Our business | :12:29. | :12:32.
correspondent is at one vineyard where the harvest is proving to be | :12:32. | :12:35.
their best ever. Yes, it might be raining down, but thankfully it has | :12:35. | :12:41.
not been raining for a full 12 months. This time last year, the | :12:41. | :12:45.
harvest was looking pretty bleak indeed. In fact, it was almost a | :12:45. | :12:50.
complete write—off, which was not great news for business. But like | :12:51. | :12:56.
most farmers, this year, the warm dry weather has been fantastic. | :12:56. | :13:07.
conditions, and you know what that means for grapes. Five or six weeks | :13:07. | :13:12.
to go until these grapes are picked. Owners believe they have a bumper | :13:12. | :13:17.
harvest. Yorkshire has a number of vineyards. Despite the cooler | :13:17. | :13:21.
climate, the creation of new varieties of grape means the region | :13:21. | :13:27.
is well suited to a slow, flavoursome growth. What do you | :13:27. | :13:36.
grow? This heart of the Vineyard is red varieties. If you look in here, | :13:36. | :13:46.
you can see the grapes forming. The long, dry summer has been the | :13:46. | :13:49.
perfect antidote to last year's soggy affair. But it didn't start | :13:49. | :13:54.
out that way. The late snow here gave Ian a few sleepless nights but | :13:54. | :14:00.
perversely, it actually gave the grapes the perfect start. A lot of | :14:00. | :14:06.
snow, a lot of rain, we were expecting the same as we had in | :14:06. | :14:10.
2012. Then all of the sudden, the clouds parted, the sun came out and | :14:10. | :14:16.
it went from strength to strength. Last year, the business produced | :14:16. | :14:22.
enough wine to keep the tour going. No one is complaining. I'm not | :14:22. | :14:27.
normally a wine drinker, the red was very nice. Really surprising. The | :14:27. | :14:32.
wine is nice. I will be buying some. The hope is, if people like | :14:32. | :14:42.
that, they will love what comes next. And that is just as well | :14:42. | :14:49.
because the wine produced next year is going to be tested by fierce | :14:49. | :14:54.
critics. The Tour de France passers—by just over there, quite a | :14:54. | :15:00.
lot of French dignitaries will come by. They note just a little bit | :15:01. | :15:07.
about wine. There are still five or six weeks to go until the harvest | :15:07. | :15:11.
itself. They are watching the weather forecast very carefully, | :15:11. | :15:15.
hoping they will get a lot less of this rain, a lot more warm sunshine | :15:15. | :15:21.
and hopefully, absolutely no hard frost. The wine itself, it is pretty | :15:21. | :15:30.
good. Even though the harvest last year was not great, and they were | :15:30. | :15:36.
not able to make the red wines, and they are hoping that will lead to | :15:36. | :15:39.
additional jobs which will be great for the economy around the last of | :15:39. | :15:46.
the summer Wine country. Please tell me you're not pregnant! | :15:46. | :15:52.
Before 7pm: Meet the young boxer from Sheffield aiming to win the | :15:52. | :15:55.
British title after a chance encounter in his local mosque | :15:55. | :16:02.
inspired him to take up the sport. And how your's rich chocolate | :16:02. | :16:07.
history inspired a new production telling the story of that city in | :16:07. | :16:16.
wartime. A bit nervous at the moment with the sport. It's a bit dodgy at | :16:17. | :16:24.
the moment, isn't it? It is at the moment. We will start with the | :16:24. | :16:29.
cricket. Yorkshire are running out of time to push for victory. After a | :16:29. | :16:35.
delayed start because of rain, Yorkshire reached 326. They then | :16:35. | :16:41.
reduced size six to 48—2. But with one day left to play, and another | :16:41. | :16:46.
poor weather forecast, they may have to settle for a draw. | :16:46. | :16:51.
The Huddersfield Giants will have to make it to the Grand Final the hard | :16:51. | :16:54.
way after losing to Wigan last night. Despite starting well with | :16:54. | :16:57.
this individual try from Danny Brough, they made too many errors in | :16:57. | :17:01.
the game and Wigan came through to win 22—8. It means Huddersfield will | :17:01. | :17:05.
have to play next week when it is sudden death. Tomorrow Leeds are at | :17:05. | :17:09.
Warrington — and you can see the highlights of all of the play—off | :17:09. | :17:12.
games at 5.30pm on Sunday evening on BBC Two. | :17:12. | :17:15.
It's Brownlee versus Brownlee to become World Triathlon Champion, | :17:15. | :17:18.
though Spaniard Javier Gomez could also sneak it! It's close, and a | :17:18. | :17:23.
little complicated, going into Sunday's grand final race on the | :17:23. | :17:27.
Olympic course in London. Alistair can afford to let Gomez win, so long | :17:27. | :17:31.
as he comes second and beats Jonny. Jonny and Gomez must beat Alistair | :17:31. | :17:35.
and each other if they are to become World Champion. It's wonderful to be | :17:35. | :17:41.
back. experience last year with the | :17:41. | :17:50.
crowds. I think it is genuinely a great place for the triathlon. | :17:50. | :17:55.
Becoming world champion in 2013 will be very special. After last year, it | :17:55. | :18:02.
will be very, very special. In boxing it's a big weekend for a | :18:02. | :18:06.
young Sheffield fighter who's aiming to win the British title. Barry Awad | :18:06. | :18:10.
is hoping to follow in the footsteps of former world champion Prince | :18:10. | :18:13.
Naseem. He wants to win his first British title before going on to | :18:13. | :18:17.
European and world glory. Kid Galahad is the latest in a long | :18:17. | :18:23.
line of top fighters to come out of the world—famous ingle boxing gym in | :18:23. | :18:30.
Sheffield. Barry Awad, as he is known outside the ring, talks the | :18:30. | :18:34.
bill when he fights for the super bantamweight title of Great Britain. | :18:34. | :18:39.
But surprisingly, his journey into boxing began at his local mosque. A | :18:39. | :18:46.
former world champion recommended he joined up. This is where it all | :18:46. | :18:53.
started for me, where I met the Prince. He told me if you want to be | :18:53. | :18:58.
a champion, go to the famous Jim and he will make you into a champion. | :18:58. | :19:03.
You can be a champion, if you want to be a champion go to this gym. I | :19:03. | :19:10.
thank God every day for putting me in this position. That was the | :19:10. | :19:13.
turning point where everything clicked into place, and that is when | :19:13. | :19:19.
I met Brendan and where it all began for me, this journey. Prince Naseem | :19:20. | :19:26.
went on to become a world champion. Although many compare the two, his | :19:26. | :19:31.
style has more in common with another champion from the gym. He | :19:31. | :19:37.
has a very lucid, difficult to hit style. Barry is not like that, not | :19:37. | :19:47.
like the Prince. It will not be an easy fight against a previously | :19:47. | :19:51.
unbeaten opponent. But victory tomorrow night would take Kid | :19:51. | :20:02.
Galahad a step closer to the title. Brings back some memories. That | :20:02. | :20:04.
entry that Prince Naseem used to make into the ring. What brilliant | :20:04. | :20:13.
names. Barry is not quite fearful enough. | :20:13. | :20:16.
The First Direct Arena in Leeds has been open a few weeks now, but | :20:16. | :20:20.
spiritually for the people of the city tonight is the big 'opening' | :20:20. | :20:23.
gig. That's because tonight will see hometown band the Kaiser Chiefs | :20:23. | :20:26.
headlining, and Shamir Masri has been to meet them. | :20:26. | :20:31.
I am here on stage at the Leeds arena ahead of a massive homecoming | :20:31. | :20:37.
gig for local favourites the Kaiser Chiefs. Thank you very much for | :20:37. | :20:42.
taking the time out. Originally you were picked to open up this venue? | :20:42. | :20:47.
What are you saying? Are you suggesting we are not opening it? I | :20:48. | :20:55.
got a phone call off Elton and one of Bruce as well. You cannot get | :20:55. | :21:02.
angry about that. Even Elton said to the crowd... He was the first person | :21:02. | :21:09.
to play this venue. You guys have nearly been going ten years, what | :21:09. | :21:12.
would it have been like when you were starting out to have something | :21:13. | :21:17.
like this in your city? They've been talking about it for ten years and | :21:17. | :21:20.
it is actually here, we're pretty excited. It's great. It's been a | :21:20. | :21:29.
long time coming. Both this gig and the arena generally, so looking | :21:29. | :21:33.
forward to it immensely. You have done big shows the summer, haven't | :21:34. | :21:39.
you? We have been writing new tunes, testing them out at festivals all | :21:39. | :21:43.
over the world. The last one we did was in Poland. A free festival. | :21:43. | :21:51.
Obviously you have written new material, the cradle sample some of | :21:51. | :21:56.
that tonight. Any idea when the rest of the public will get their hands | :21:56. | :22:01.
on it? We will go into the studio for a bit and come out of it like | :22:01. | :22:05.
butterflies. I am mixing metaphors, but it doesn't matter. Probably | :22:05. | :22:11.
sometime next year. Let's go for the first quarter. March, April, May, | :22:11. | :22:20.
June or July. Have a great gig here tonight. They will be on stage and | :22:20. | :22:26.
9pm but make sure if you're coming down to get here early. | :22:26. | :22:35.
I like the Kaiser Chiefs. I like the fact that Elton and Bruce were the | :22:36. | :22:39.
warm up act. Next month sees York stage one of | :22:39. | :22:42.
the biggest theatrical productions in the country this year. It's | :22:42. | :22:46.
called Blood And Chocolate and it's been written by the same man as the | :22:46. | :22:49.
enormously successful production of The Railway Children at the Railway | :22:49. | :22:52.
Museum. That play featured a real steam engine. This one will feature | :22:52. | :22:58.
the whole of the city of York! Visit York before October and you're | :22:58. | :23:04.
likely to see a lot of this sort of thing. 200 volunteers are rehearsing | :23:04. | :23:09.
their part in a new production called Blood And Chocolate to be | :23:09. | :23:13.
performed on the street. It is high—tech. The cast are wearing | :23:13. | :23:18.
earphones and they are getting instructions from their director. | :23:18. | :23:26.
When it comes to the performance, the audience will wear headphones as | :23:26. | :23:31.
well, so they can hear the actors. The show's producer gives a | :23:31. | :23:36.
demonstration. Without headphones you are none the wiser. But this is | :23:36. | :23:39.
what you can hear if you're wearing them. These people walking around, | :23:39. | :23:43.
they will be walking around looking at people in 1914 costumes with | :23:43. | :23:51.
people just like you looking up. That is the scale. For the audience, | :23:51. | :23:58.
it is a bit of an adventure because they have no idea where they are | :23:58. | :24:00.
going to go or what happen to them and they get there. | :24:00. | :24:06.
The play has been inspired by the changes in your's chocolate | :24:06. | :24:09.
factories during the First World War. The city and its inhabitants | :24:09. | :24:17.
were transformed by it. As the men left, the women moved from packing | :24:17. | :24:20.
the chocolates to doing robust industrial work. By the end of the | :24:20. | :24:26.
war, they decided they were not going to go back into service. Those | :24:26. | :24:30.
stories will unfold theatrically with York as a beautiful theatrical | :24:30. | :24:36.
backdrop. It will be the theatrical event of the year. | :24:36. | :24:40.
That looks something else, doesn't it? | :24:40. | :24:43.
A quick reminder, it's the last day to nominate your community hero for | :24:43. | :24:46.
this year's Yorkshire Awards. It could be anyone from your local | :24:46. | :24:49.
football coach to someone who's raised tonnes of money for charity — | :24:49. | :24:52.
anyone who you think deserves recognition for their achievements | :24:52. | :24:55.
in their local community. Send your nomination to [email protected] — | :24:55. | :24:58.
with no more than a hundred words explaining why you think someone | :24:58. | :25:01.
deserves to be Yorkshire's Community Hero 2013. The deadline is midnight | :25:01. | :25:09.
tonight. Some breaking news coming in coming, Paul played in his first | :25:10. | :25:20.
golf final and he couldn't hit a cow's backside with a banjo! | :25:20. | :25:29.
Somebody said that I played with the dog licence. I was annihilated. | :25:29. | :25:36.
Let's have a look at the forecast for the next 24 hours, 48 hours. It | :25:37. | :25:41.
is looking as though Saturday will be quite pleasant, great news for | :25:41. | :25:49.
the show, a lovely afternoon. But for the 20 mile run, on Sunday, it | :25:49. | :25:54.
is wet and windy, and temperatures are going to struggle. For those of | :25:55. | :25:59.
us meteorological minded, there is the pressure for Saturday. But look | :25:59. | :26:06.
at this, and autumn depression, wet and windy. It might get off to a | :26:06. | :26:11.
bright start towards the coast, but that rain will push in on Sunday | :26:11. | :26:16.
morning and last through Sunday afternoon. A repeat performance this | :26:16. | :26:21.
evening, a dreary Friday evening with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. | :26:21. | :26:26.
The rainbow sink South words and later tonight will clear —— the rain | :26:26. | :26:37.
will sink South words. The sun will rise in the morning at 6:37am, your | :26:37. | :26:42.
next high water time in Bridlington. It is a damp start, | :26:42. | :26:48.
especially across South Yorkshire. Brighter skies already into northern | :26:48. | :26:54.
parts of North Yorkshire. The sunshine slips southwards through | :26:54. | :26:57.
the morning and in the afternoon is very pleasant indeed with some | :26:57. | :27:02.
patchy cloud, the small chance of a light shower. If you are off to the | :27:02. | :27:07.
coast, highs of 13 or 14 degrees. Inland, 15 degrees Celsius. A quick | :27:07. | :27:17.
look at the further Outlook, we do not need to dwell on Sunday, | :27:17. | :27:22.
persistent and at times heavy rain. Really tunnel, cool, windy and | :27:22. | :27:29.
showed the —— showery. There will be sunshine in between. That's the | :27:29. | :27:34.
forecast. We are saying goodbye to night to | :27:34. | :27:41.
one of our stalwarts. He is on camera three. He is a bit too shy to | :27:41. | :27:46.
appear on camera but he has brought a lot of | :27:46. | :27:47. |
