Good evening. A 19`year`old man is in hospital in Sheffield after being

stabbed in a fight at a pub in the early hours of this morning. The

incident happened at the Three Feathers pub in the Darnall area of

the city at 1am. One man has been arrested.

The Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield has become the first place

in the country to fit a new type of hearing aid that is attached to the

skull using magnets. Doctors say the new device will dramatically reduce

the amount of aftercare patients need as well as improving how

implanted hearing aids look. Our Health Correspondent Jamie Coulson

reports. It is really hard not having any

hearing. Now I will be able to hear my little girl singing. People will

be able to talk to me without shouting. The magnet is attached to

another one which has been surgically implanted behind Zoe's

ear. The device will conduct sound vibrations through the bone direct

to her inner ear. They are not new but previously they had to be

attached using a stirred that penetrated the skin. By using

magnets, doctors believe there are big benefits. It is a big step

forward because the patient is `` patient involvement is minimal or

no. They can forget about it so there is no day`to`day looking after

needed at all. For Zoe, it is a question of being able to hear

to be offered this new hearing aid that there are plans for more

route for Le Tour which takes place in July.

Cuts made to opening hours at a historic swimming pool in Leeds are

being reversed by the community group that took it over. Today

bathers in fancy dress jumped into the pool at Bramley Baths to

celebrate the success of the community enterprise. In 2012 the

future of Grade II listed pool looked uncertain as the council

wanted to slash opening hours to save money. A team of volunteers

took over exactly one year ago and the baths now employ twenty six

staff who look after more than 300 members.
