Welcome to Look North. Our top stories tonight... 15,000 tonnes of | :00:00. | :00:08.
tyres go up in smoke at a recycling plant near Selby. At its height | :00:09. | :00:14.
smoke from the blaze could be seen from sixty miles away. We'll be live | :00:15. | :00:19.
from the scene. Also tonight. Council jobs and services face the | :00:20. | :00:21.
chop. Doncaster Council considers closing all of its elderly care | :00:22. | :00:33.
homes and shedding a thousand jobs. We have nowhere to go. It is the | :00:34. | :00:39.
first time I have been settled in my life. | :00:40. | :00:42.
And the football`mad youngster who's overcome physical disability to | :00:43. | :00:49.
qualify as a coach. There have been a few showers around. This was | :00:50. | :00:54.
Bolton Abbey earlier. Join me for the forecast later in the programme. | :00:55. | :01:06.
First tonight ` a huge fire is burning at a recycling plant in | :01:07. | :01:09.
North Yorkshire. Around fifteen thousand tonnes of tyres have been | :01:10. | :01:12.
ablaze throughout the day, and fire crews from across Yorkshire have | :01:13. | :01:19.
been drafted in to tackle it. The blaze broke out shortly after 8.30am | :01:20. | :01:22.
this morning at the Gascoigne site in Sherburn in Elmet. It made for an | :01:23. | :01:27.
amazing sight over most of Yorkshire. It's sent a pall of smoke | :01:28. | :01:32.
thousands of feet into the air ` so big in fact, that you can actually | :01:33. | :01:36.
see it from space. Just take a look at this. This is shot from a weather | :01:37. | :01:41.
satellite, and you can clearly see the track of the smoke from | :01:42. | :01:44.
Sherburn, through York and right over to Whitby around sixty miles | :01:45. | :01:47.
away. Our reporter Dave Edwards has spent the day at the scene, and he | :01:48. | :01:51.
joins us now live from Sherburn`in`Elmet. | :01:52. | :01:59.
Yes, the fire has been burning for ten hours. There is no end in sight. | :02:00. | :02:05.
Fire crews are still out in force here and they will be here for some | :02:06. | :02:09.
time yet. The smoke continues to fill the sky. Turning day into | :02:10. | :02:16.
night, clouds of smoke from thousands of tonnes of tyres. The | :02:17. | :02:23.
blaze here in Sherburn. The plumes are thought to have reached heights | :02:24. | :02:27.
of 6000 feet, visible for miles around. We received a call after | :02:28. | :02:36.
8:30am to a fire on this site. On arrival, a significant developing | :02:37. | :02:41.
fire involving waste tyres, approximately 15,000 tonnes, most of | :02:42. | :02:50.
that is involved in the fire. 100 firefighters from stations across | :02:51. | :02:52.
Yorkshire have been here dealing with this, luckily no one has been | :02:53. | :02:57.
hurt but police and the ambulance service have been here just in case | :02:58. | :03:03.
they are needed. Thick black smoke has been pouring out of this site | :03:04. | :03:07.
for Match Of The Day. We have seen flames in the distance as well. | :03:08. | :03:12.
There is a slight smell in the air and people have been told to keep | :03:13. | :03:20.
their doors and windows closed. `` much of the day. Pupils were told to | :03:21. | :03:25.
stay indoors as the smoke bill owed above the building. Some people came | :03:26. | :03:28.
out to see the dramatic scenes themselves. | :03:29. | :03:33.
You didn't need to be that close to get a good view. Your pictures from | :03:34. | :03:39.
across a huge swathe of Yorkshire show the smoke dominating the | :03:40. | :03:44.
skyline. It is seen likely to be repeated tomorrow as this fire | :03:45. | :03:49.
continues burn. I am joined now by Nigel | :03:50. | :03:54.
Hutchinson, we heard from you earlier, what is the latest? | :03:55. | :04:01.
If you imagine a site of seven acres full of tyres stacked 20 feet high, | :04:02. | :04:07.
80% of that site involved in the fire, the strategy is to let the | :04:08. | :04:14.
fire burn out but in the South are two large buildings and our efforts | :04:15. | :04:17.
are to protect those buildings through water curtains to try to | :04:18. | :04:24.
keep heat away from the building. This must have been a difficult day | :04:25. | :04:28.
for you and your colleagues. Logistically, yes, the only access | :04:29. | :04:32.
is from the north and that is the direction the smoke is blowing. We | :04:33. | :04:40.
had to withdraw to allow the fire crews to reassemble and reposition | :04:41. | :04:45.
equipment to mount a second attack. We have heard warnings to stay | :04:46. | :04:50.
indoors and keep doors and windows closed. | :04:51. | :04:54.
Is there a risk to health? Clearly we want people to be well | :04:55. | :04:58.
away from any smoke plumes, monitoring the weather conditions | :04:59. | :05:02.
and the wind direction closely at the moment, the plume is travelling | :05:03. | :05:07.
high and away from the public. The sensible precautions are to keep | :05:08. | :05:12.
indoors where possible if you are in the line of the plume and if you can | :05:13. | :05:18.
smell it, keep windows and doors shut. | :05:19. | :05:21.
Briefly, how long will the operation last? As long as it takes, we have | :05:22. | :05:26.
relieved crews arriving on the scene this evening, they will stay | :05:27. | :05:29.
throughout the night and until the job is done. | :05:30. | :05:33.
Thank you very much. As you have heard, the fire is likely to | :05:34. | :05:39.
continue for several days, the firefighters are getting ready for | :05:40. | :05:42.
the night shift and they have brought in a catering van just down | :05:43. | :05:46.
the road. It will be a very busy night for them and we will have more | :05:47. | :05:50.
free you on the late programme tonight. Incredible pictures. Big | :05:51. | :05:58.
cuts in spending have been confirmed by Doncaster Council today, meaning | :05:59. | :06:01.
more than a thousand job losses. All care homes for the elderly will | :06:02. | :06:04.
close, along with four day centres. There will also be big cuts to | :06:05. | :06:07.
leisure facilities and library services. The council needs to shave | :06:08. | :06:11.
more than a hundred million pounds from its budget by 2017. Kate | :06:12. | :06:19.
Bradbrook reports. These were the scenes in Tonga in | :06:20. | :06:23.
November. Plans were first announced to cut 1200 council jobs. Now, the | :06:24. | :06:30.
plans will become a reality `` in Doncaster. Council bosses are | :06:31. | :06:34.
attempting to balance the books despite a reduction in funding. We | :06:35. | :06:40.
are being presented with a further ?109 million worth of cuts. | :06:41. | :06:44.
And therefore if you relate it to a family, that is asking us to deliver | :06:45. | :06:53.
with 50% less by 2017. Leisure facilities will also lose more than | :06:54. | :06:57.
?2 million in funding, eight more libraries will need to be run by | :06:58. | :07:02.
volunteers and at the same time council tax will go are up by nearly | :07:03. | :07:06.
2%. Council run care homes like this one | :07:07. | :07:12.
will also close under the plans, seven in total over two years. | :07:13. | :07:16.
The council or government is disgusting. Where will people go? | :07:17. | :07:25.
Who will look after people? It is shocking. | :07:26. | :07:29.
We have nowhere to go. It is the first time I have been | :07:30. | :07:35.
settled in my life. These people are marvellous. | :07:36. | :07:41.
Trade unions said the cuts would not be necessary if past budgets have | :07:42. | :07:46.
been better managed. There's been a woeful mismanagement of finances for | :07:47. | :07:50.
a number of years and the unions are still raising questions about the | :07:51. | :07:53.
amount of money being spent on consultants, the amount spent on | :07:54. | :08:01.
senior management posts, seemingly for not large departments. | :08:02. | :08:05.
The plans will be finalised next month. | :08:06. | :08:07.
It is likely to be much longer for the people of plonk feel the full | :08:08. | :08:14.
impact. `` Doncaster. Elsewhere, Sheffield City Council says services | :08:15. | :08:17.
will be cut and 600 jobs could be lost as part of a plan to save more | :08:18. | :08:21.
than 50 million pounds in the next financial year. The proposals were | :08:22. | :08:24.
discussed at a public meeting last night where the council asked for | :08:25. | :08:28.
ideas about where it should make the cuts. The proposals currently | :08:29. | :08:31.
include cutting 22 million pounds from Adult Social Care budgets, as | :08:32. | :08:34.
well as millions of pounds from services supporting young people and | :08:35. | :08:39.
recycling. Later on Look North... We are what | :08:40. | :08:44.
we eat. Why scientists here in Yorkshire believe the next big | :08:45. | :08:47.
health risk will be found in cereals and dried fruit. | :08:48. | :08:56.
The owners of Bridgewater Place ` Yorkshire's tallest building ` have | :08:57. | :08:58.
revealed detailed plans of what they're going to do to make it less | :08:59. | :09:02.
dangerous. One person has died and several others have been badly | :09:03. | :09:06.
injured outside it in strong winds. The current design of the building | :09:07. | :09:10.
has been blamed and the changes to it follow recommendations from a | :09:11. | :09:19.
coroner. Ian White reports. Screens and canopies, this is how | :09:20. | :09:23.
the Yorkshire stood `` Yorkshire tallest building will luck if | :09:24. | :09:27.
planning permission is granted. For independent windbreaks would help | :09:28. | :09:32.
reduce strong gusts suspended six metres above one of the main route | :09:33. | :09:36.
from the South into Leeds. When it is windy, the area around the | :09:37. | :09:41.
building becomes dangerous, when Doctor died when a lorry was blown | :09:42. | :09:46.
on top of him. The company that owns Bridgewater Place presented its | :09:47. | :09:50.
plans today ahead of a formal planning application. A lot of work | :09:51. | :09:54.
has gone into the design, we do not want them to look like motorway | :09:55. | :09:57.
gantries. This is one of the best office | :09:58. | :10:04.
buildings into Leeds. There's no doubt, Bridgewater Place has become | :10:05. | :10:10.
for the Council a real headache. It must be a headache for you. We want | :10:11. | :10:13.
to fix the problem. We know there are issues to be fixed | :10:14. | :10:20.
we think we have something that we can implement, it will work and it | :10:21. | :10:25.
will cure the headache. The start of construction work is a | :10:26. | :10:29.
year away, people who live and work around Bridgewater Place are still | :10:30. | :10:33.
at risk when it is windy. Do you worry when it is windy? | :10:34. | :10:38.
Clearly I want to make sure we get this thing started as quickly as | :10:39. | :10:43.
possible. As a responsible building owner, | :10:44. | :10:47.
there is an issue here and I will not be satisfied until we have put | :10:48. | :10:51.
plans in place and the construction fixes the issue. The company would | :10:52. | :10:55.
not comment about the death and injuries that have taken place | :10:56. | :10:59.
because of legal action but the cost of putting things right will run | :11:00. | :11:07.
into many millions of pounds. Jurors, trying the case of a | :11:08. | :11:10.
children's nursery assistant accused of the manslaughter of a | :11:11. | :11:12.
three`year`old girl, were taken today to view the scene of the | :11:13. | :11:15.
tragedy in York. They saw where Lydia Bishop died | :11:16. | :11:19.
playing on a slide at the nursery at York College. Sophee Redhead denies | :11:20. | :11:22.
the gross negligence charge against her. Our Crime Correspondent John | :11:23. | :11:29.
Cundy reports. The closed playground at the nursery | :11:30. | :11:33.
school which never reopened after the death of Lydia Bishop. The | :11:34. | :11:37.
little girl allegedly unsupervised got her neck caught in a rope which | :11:38. | :11:41.
should never have been left on the slide where she was playing. Court | :11:42. | :11:48.
number one was moved away from Leeds Crown Court to hear York College to | :11:49. | :11:53.
see the site of the former nursery school playground. It was here 18 | :11:54. | :11:57.
months ago when Lydia Bishop tragically died on her first day at | :11:58. | :12:04.
the school. The trial judge and barristers and jurors were able to | :12:05. | :12:09.
see themselves the exact layout of the now closed playground. On the | :12:10. | :12:14.
second day of the trial, the Justice spoke to the barristers including | :12:15. | :12:20.
the prosecution team who described the case as a completely avoidable | :12:21. | :12:26.
death of a child. It is alleged that the nursery assistant Sophie redhead | :12:27. | :12:30.
in charge of Lydia did nothing to stop or supervise the child on the | :12:31. | :12:35.
slide, it is said it was 20 minutes before anyone realised Lydia was | :12:36. | :12:41.
missing. By then, it was too late. She denies manslaughter by gross | :12:42. | :12:45.
negligence and the alternative charge of failing to take reasonable | :12:46. | :12:53.
care of Lydia. They deny failings in health and safety and jurors studied | :12:54. | :12:56.
the playground before returning to the court in Leeds to head the first | :12:57. | :13:00.
prosecution witness in the trial which is expected to last up to | :13:01. | :13:06.
three weeks. A dying man has been sentenced to life in prison for the | :13:07. | :13:09.
killing of his wife and daughter. 70`year`old Peter Redfern from | :13:10. | :13:11.
Wath`upon`Dearne, near Rotherham, strangled his wife Jean and then | :13:12. | :13:15.
beat his daughter Sarah to death with a hammer. He admitted one count | :13:16. | :13:20.
of murder and one of manslaughter. The court was told he had been | :13:21. | :13:23.
diagnosed with incurable bone cancer, was depressed, and on cancer | :13:24. | :13:26.
drugs which altered his behaviour. A judge at Sheffield Crown Court told | :13:27. | :13:30.
him he would serve at least 17 years behind bars. | :13:31. | :13:35.
Teachers at a school for children with special needs in Rotherham have | :13:36. | :13:38.
been out on strike today over plans to restructure the school. Members | :13:39. | :13:42.
of the National Union of Teachers at Abbey Special School in Kimberworth | :13:43. | :13:45.
say they fear the changes would have a negative impact on the children. | :13:46. | :13:48.
They're also concerned that teachers will have to reapply for their jobs. | :13:49. | :13:51.
Rotherham Council says a recent assessment of the school found its | :13:52. | :13:54.
'overall effectiveness' was 'inadequate'. The two fishermen | :13:55. | :14:03.
found dead on a boat in Whitby harbour have been named as Mark | :14:04. | :14:05.
Arries and Edward Ide. They were both from Northumberland. | :14:06. | :14:08.
Police were called to the vessel, moored off Pier Road, at around ten | :14:09. | :14:11.
o'clock yesterday morning. It's still not clear how they died, | :14:12. | :14:15.
though police say there are no suspicious circumstances. A | :14:16. | :14:17.
postmortem examination is due to take place in the next few days. | :14:18. | :14:22.
There's been an increase in the number of metal theft incidents on | :14:23. | :14:25.
the electricity network in West Yorkshire. Repair work is ongoing | :14:26. | :14:28.
after thirteen kilometres of copper cable was stolen in the last few | :14:29. | :14:31.
weeks, resulting in power disruption for thousands of homes. The | :14:32. | :14:36.
electricity distributor Northern Powergrid, says innocent people's | :14:37. | :14:39.
lives are being put at serious risk by thieves targeting overhead power | :14:40. | :14:46.
lines. Three vandals, who were caught in the act, have been forced | :14:47. | :14:49.
to clear up their own mess. These men were caught on CCTV | :14:50. | :14:52.
tipping over wheelie bins and throwing rubbish into the street on | :14:53. | :14:55.
Gillygate in York. Police were quickly on the scene and made the | :14:56. | :15:00.
men clean up the rubbish. No charges were brought against them. North | :15:01. | :15:05.
Yorkshire Police said it showed the fantastic partnership between | :15:06. | :15:07.
themselves and the council in tackling anti`social behaviour. Now, | :15:08. | :15:14.
did you change the way you shop following last year's horse meat | :15:15. | :15:15.
scandal? Well it certainly got us talking | :15:16. | :15:19.
about where our food comes from and what's actually in it ` but it's not | :15:20. | :15:23.
just meat that's in question. Scientists at the Food and | :15:24. | :15:25.
Environment Research Agency near York believe changes to climate | :15:26. | :15:28.
could mean the next big health risk is likely to be found in things like | :15:29. | :15:32.
cereals and dried fruit. Our business correspondent Danni Hewson | :15:33. | :15:35.
has had exclusive access to their labs. | :15:36. | :15:41.
It was a food scare that shocked us all. A factory is being investigated | :15:42. | :15:46.
after horse meat was found in burgers. A new system of random | :15:47. | :15:53.
tests on meat is recommended by the European commission. Yorkshire | :15:54. | :15:56.
safety experts were warning for years about the potential for fraud. | :15:57. | :16:01.
12 months since the discovery of horse meat in some supermarket | :16:02. | :16:05.
products, for many of us it was an eye`opener that changed the way we | :16:06. | :16:08.
buy meat. But is meat the only area of | :16:09. | :16:13.
concern? At the Food and Environment Research Agency in York, they are | :16:14. | :16:18.
still running checks on meat products but their focus is | :16:19. | :16:22.
shifting. We are concerned about viruses, some is coming up on the | :16:23. | :16:28.
agenda in terms of threat to health and also micro toxins, natural | :16:29. | :16:36.
products produced by fundi working their way into the food chain | :16:37. | :16:40.
because of climate change. In a nutshell, micro toxins are | :16:41. | :16:45.
naturally a caring found in mould growing on cereals, nuts and spices | :16:46. | :16:46.
and coffee. The most, there is a tolerable daily | :16:47. | :16:53.
limit but some have been found to cause cancer so regulations are in | :16:54. | :16:56.
place to monitor food coming from countries where the risk is higher | :16:57. | :17:01.
or it was until climate change and that is where this comes in. We are | :17:02. | :17:07.
moving to instead of looking at specific entities, we are looking at | :17:08. | :17:10.
things that shouldn't be there, that flags up we can use nontargeted | :17:11. | :17:16.
analysis to look for threats entering the food chain. | :17:17. | :17:20.
Fears over food security have boosted some businesses, places like | :17:21. | :17:24.
this delicatessen which has seen trade up by 20% with customers | :17:25. | :17:28.
seeking more local and more traceable threats. | :17:29. | :17:33.
For a lot of our customers that is why they come here, they know the | :17:34. | :17:40.
product they are buying are from the area and there is a traceability | :17:41. | :17:45.
which is quite important to them. But the traceability comes at a | :17:46. | :17:49.
premium not everyone can afford. It needs scrutiny of the foods that | :17:50. | :17:52.
reaches the table grows more important. Grow your own is the | :17:53. | :18:02.
moral of that story. I don't but if you do, great. Before seven | :18:03. | :18:11.
o'clock. It's little and large! Some new giants of sport in Yorkshire as | :18:12. | :18:15.
Leeds Carnegie tipped off the flight. And how guts and | :18:16. | :18:18.
determination helped this youngster overcome physical disability to | :18:19. | :18:31.
fulfill his football coaching dream. And Paul is forfeit ten! Let's have | :18:32. | :18:35.
some sports news now, and the UK snooker Championship is to stay at | :18:36. | :18:38.
the Barbican centre in York. The competition returned to the venue in | :18:39. | :18:42.
2011 after losing the contract in 2006. During last year's | :18:43. | :18:44.
championship it was suggested it could be moved after some players | :18:45. | :18:47.
complained about conditions. Today the World Snooker Chairman Barry | :18:48. | :18:50.
Hearn confirmed York will host the event and said the centre will be | :18:51. | :18:53.
better equipped this year to meet their needs. The Sheffield Steelers | :18:54. | :18:58.
have a commanding lead in their Challenge Cup Quarter Final against | :18:59. | :19:01.
Dundee. The first leg was on home ice and | :19:02. | :19:05.
goals from Jeff Legue, man of the match Rob Sirianni, Jason Hewitt and | :19:06. | :19:08.
Stefan Meyer secured the Steelers a 4`0 shut out. The return leg in on | :19:09. | :19:17.
Sunday, but before that the Steelers have a league clash with top of the | :19:18. | :19:22.
table Belfast at the Arena. Sheffield's Skeleton world champion, | :19:23. | :19:25.
Shelley Rudman, says she's on track for the winter Olympics. Tomorrow | :19:26. | :19:28.
she in action in Austria in the final world cup race before the team | :19:29. | :19:35.
is announced for Sochi. Last weekend she picked up her first podium of | :19:36. | :19:39.
the season and despite a couple of injuries she insists her campaign is | :19:40. | :19:48.
going to plan. I am still third in the rankings which, considering the | :19:49. | :19:52.
results I have not been hitting podiums all the time, I am still | :19:53. | :19:56.
happy that there is a group of us at the moment which are hit and miss | :19:57. | :20:01.
and everyone is working on different things to bring them together for | :20:02. | :20:03.
Sochi. Until now, when we've talked about | :20:04. | :20:06.
top flight basketball in Yorkshire it's all been about the Sheffield | :20:07. | :20:10.
Sharks. But there's a new kid on the block ` Leeds Carnegie Basketball | :20:11. | :20:13.
team are joining them and tomorrow night they've got their first Elite | :20:14. | :20:16.
Cup game against Glasgow Rocks. Tanya's been to their final training | :20:17. | :20:26.
session before the big game. It is a big night, possibly the | :20:27. | :20:30.
biggest night in this young clubs history. They have been going for | :20:31. | :20:35.
eight years but they take on Glasgow Rocks. The coach joins me. Give us | :20:36. | :20:40.
an idea of what the guys are up against. It is a huge night for the | :20:41. | :20:43.
club and testimony to eight years work. | :20:44. | :20:49.
The programme was based in the community and Leeds Metropolitan | :20:50. | :20:52.
University, we have gone from division for two Division 1 and who | :20:53. | :20:58.
enter next year so it a huge test and a chance to test ourselves | :20:59. | :21:01.
against the best. Add your guys are not as big, they | :21:02. | :21:07.
look big to me but they will look small. | :21:08. | :21:12.
We have a reasonably sized line`up but in the professional domain there | :21:13. | :21:15.
are big big bodies. We have a line`up taking us up to sixth at | :21:16. | :21:24.
nine. They do go bigger again. `` six feet, nine. So, it will be a | :21:25. | :21:35.
battle. Also with me as the captain and Danny Evans. What will it be | :21:36. | :21:39.
like against the elite? Great for us, creating work and we | :21:40. | :21:43.
are practising hard so it is a good experience for us. | :21:44. | :21:48.
Can you pull off a shock? Hopefully, not a shock, they have to | :21:49. | :21:53.
shoot in the same group. For a young guy, you are from Leeds, | :21:54. | :21:57.
what is it like for the club to make this step up? It is amazing. | :21:58. | :22:04.
The steps we have made any improvements is amazing. You are 16 | :22:05. | :22:07.
years old. It is fantastic for you to be | :22:08. | :22:12.
stepping up to the elite. I am honoured. | :22:13. | :22:14.
It is fantastic. I'm glad to be part of it. | :22:15. | :22:24.
Unbelievable, six feet, 11. You need to be tall. Good luck to them. Now, | :22:25. | :22:31.
it's not unusual for a young boy in Yorkshire to want to be a footballer | :22:32. | :22:36.
when he grows up. But what does he do when he's told in his teens that | :22:37. | :22:40.
t he'll never realise his dream, because of a physical disability? | :22:41. | :22:43.
Sohail Rehman from Leeds was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular | :22:44. | :22:46.
Atrophy as a child. But through sheer guts and determination he's | :22:47. | :22:49.
established what could be a unique position in the football industry. | :22:50. | :22:59.
Paul Ogden's been to meet him. Header! Well done. On weekday nights | :23:00. | :23:04.
at the sports centre in the shadow of Elland Road, FA qualified coach | :23:05. | :23:10.
Sohail is the voice everyone listens to. Come on, quicker than that. As a | :23:11. | :23:14.
13`year`old when he learned his disability had reached the point he | :23:15. | :23:18.
would be wheelchair`bound, Sohail could have let the footballing | :23:19. | :23:23.
ambitions slip away. But not this coach. | :23:24. | :23:26.
I could feel myself getting weaker, the normal low things like getting | :23:27. | :23:32.
out of bed, I was struggling. I was told by the specialist that in the | :23:33. | :23:36.
next two years I would be wheelchair`bound. For me, that was | :23:37. | :23:40.
like a kick in the teeth. It was one of those things I could not come to | :23:41. | :23:44.
terms with. I started taking my badges and then | :23:45. | :23:50.
the level one and level two and three. I was in a rush to get the | :23:51. | :23:55.
badges. I'll is thought somebody might stop me. That was my | :23:56. | :24:01.
mentality. I got my badges and I passed the course. | :24:02. | :24:07.
21 years old now, Sohail routinely passes on his wisdom to local teams | :24:08. | :24:12.
as part of a new venture set up amongst others I2`macro current | :24:13. | :24:18.
Leeds United players. The coach isn't in it for anything else I have | :24:19. | :24:26.
been offered a few jobs but I don't want to take them. | :24:27. | :24:30.
I want to go into local communities and the youth clubs and help them | :24:31. | :24:34.
develop their skills. That is my goal for the next few years. Going | :24:35. | :24:39.
around to help people develop their skills so they have a chance of | :24:40. | :24:46.
making it. I want to give them a chance of getting their dreams. | :24:47. | :24:49.
Goodlad. All very best. A great coach. And | :24:50. | :24:55.
this is a great weather presenter. An accurate one. Some lovely | :24:56. | :25:01.
pictures which came in. One of my favourite old haunts, some locals | :25:02. | :25:10.
there. A beautiful day, lots of sunshine. This was a nice sunrise. | :25:11. | :25:20.
We have had lots of pictures of the fire. You saw those at the top of | :25:21. | :25:23.
the programme but keep your pictures coming in. Let me tell you, the | :25:24. | :25:35.
weather show this weekend, it is about clouds, it is more exciting | :25:36. | :25:42.
than it sounds! That is across BBC local radio. It is really good. | :25:43. | :25:52.
Sunny intervals and scattered showers, low pressure in charge. Hit | :25:53. | :25:59.
and miss showers but bright and sunny... Shut up! Sunny spells | :26:00. | :26:04.
around. Some of us have been quite lucky. You consider showers have | :26:05. | :26:10.
been banding up. If you coming through in South Yorkshire now. They | :26:11. | :26:15.
continue to push north eastwards. A scattering of showers tonight, | :26:16. | :26:19.
easing off but as you can see, one to showers by dawn. Miss dinners in | :26:20. | :26:29.
places, the wind will fall light. `` mistiness. The sun rises in the | :26:30. | :26:41.
morning at around 8:14am. Some mistiness, patchy low cloud, | :26:42. | :26:46.
otherwise variable cloud, some blue skies and sunshine and a scattering | :26:47. | :26:51.
of showers. Hit and miss, it could be having but some places stay in | :26:52. | :26:57.
Tiley Drive. Temperatures expected to be close to average for the | :26:58. | :27:00.
middle of January, the south`westerly breeze continues. `` | :27:01. | :27:13.
entirely dry. Some uncertainty for the details this weekend, Saturday, | :27:14. | :27:17.
scattered showers could give long spells of rain. Back to bright and | :27:18. | :27:22.
sunny intervals and scattered showers on Sunday with much of next | :27:23. | :27:26.
week below or near normal temperatures. That is the forecast. | :27:27. | :27:33.
The Cloud appreciation Society. It is really interesting. | :27:34. | :27:40.
Guessing what the clouds look like. Yes, we talk about all sorts. And | :27:41. | :27:48.
our! See them. Goodbye. | :27:49. | :27:52. |
