Sunday. Make the most of Saturday because Sunday | :00:00. | :00:00.
Welcome to Look North. Richard HS2 take a different route through | :00:07. | :00:17.
Yorkshire? We will investigate whether more tunnels could reduce | :00:18. | :00:22.
damage to the landscape. If Yorkshire set for another | :00:23. | :00:25.
record`breaking Olympics? The British team for the games include | :00:26. | :00:28.
more competitive than ever before from this region. Later join me in | :00:29. | :00:35.
Sheffield where we will be exploring an argument that answers, what do | :00:36. | :00:43.
you have on your chips? It was a threatening looking sky earlier | :00:44. | :00:46.
today and there unsettled weather to come over the next few days. A | :00:47. | :00:48.
detailed forecast follows shortly. Good evening. Welcome to the | :00:49. | :01:03.
programme. First tonight. The campaigners who say the proposed | :01:04. | :01:06.
High Speed Rail link from London to Leeds should take a different route | :01:07. | :01:09.
through Yorkshire. Residents living near the proposed HS2 route in Leeds | :01:10. | :01:13.
took their idea to Downing Street today. They say their plans which | :01:14. | :01:18.
include more tunneling are more environmentally friendly. In a | :01:19. | :01:30.
moment we'll ask if this is simply a case of not in my backyard but in | :01:31. | :01:34.
yours. First Phil Bodmer has the details. Campaigners in London and | :01:35. | :01:36.
over suggestions for alternative route for the proposed high`speed | :01:37. | :01:38.
rail line. Currently HS2's preferred option follows a northerly | :01:39. | :01:41.
trajectory between Wakefield and Normanton. Kevin West and onto | :01:42. | :01:48.
Stourton and then tunnels into Leeds. The alternative route curves | :01:49. | :01:52.
West by Stanley and Lofthouse towards the M1. It then follows the | :01:53. | :01:58.
motorway north and into Leeds. Campaigners claim the alternative | :01:59. | :02:01.
route will be quicker into Leeds, and say it will also be out of sight | :02:02. | :02:05.
of residential properties. But they acknowledge following the line up to | :02:06. | :02:10.
Stourton will add to the overall cost of the project. The line along | :02:11. | :02:15.
the motorway would need tunnelling, and it claimed this would remove the | :02:16. | :02:21.
need for 360 foot high viaduct. We are appealing to the Prime Minister | :02:22. | :02:24.
himself and have various proposals which are being discussed and until | :02:25. | :02:29.
we can get some traction, on HS2, on compensation issues and the | :02:30. | :02:32.
alternative route, we are really struggling. HS2 say their opening | :02:33. | :02:38.
two alternatives but will need to look at costs. It's at an | :02:39. | :02:45.
engineering, feasible, cost issues, things to look at, but the point | :02:46. | :02:50.
is, getting alternatives on the table is a good thing. The council | :02:51. | :02:54.
had given the suggestions are broad support the people we spoke to today | :02:55. | :02:59.
seem split on the issue. It's exciting. I've lived here all my | :03:00. | :03:03.
life, I've heard all these complaints. This is to be a great | :03:04. | :03:13.
big quarry. Either way, it's going to infringe on people 's homes, | :03:14. | :03:21.
obviously wildlife, through the canal. I think they should scrap it. | :03:22. | :03:27.
All views on HS2 will be considered by an independent analyst the for | :03:28. | :03:31.
any changes are announced later this year. Well joining me now from | :03:32. | :03:36.
Westminster is the Conservative MP for Elmet and Rothwell Alec | :03:37. | :03:41.
Shelbrooke. Aren't you just moving the problem to someone else's back | :03:42. | :03:48.
yard? It's actually stay in my backyard, it goes through my | :03:49. | :03:51.
constituency. The important thing, what we have done here is we have | :03:52. | :03:56.
taken the idea of HS2, something very important for the city of | :03:57. | :04:00.
Leeds, and said that we must have this project but it can't be built | :04:01. | :04:05.
on the back of hard`working people losing their property values, so by | :04:06. | :04:10.
going for an alternative route, the route which I have suggested takes a | :04:11. | :04:14.
tunnel through the valley and comes out in the areas which already have | :04:15. | :04:19.
industry in them. Therefore avoiding the rule areas, so trying to be a | :04:20. | :04:24.
positive move forward rather than a note not in my backyard thing. | :04:25. | :04:30.
There's already concerns over the cost of HS2. Who is going to cover | :04:31. | :04:35.
these changes? I don't care what it costs. This needs to be built and | :04:36. | :04:40.
needs to be built to a standard which doesn't blight people 's | :04:41. | :04:42.
lives, and if that means more money has to be spent to get that right, | :04:43. | :04:46.
I'm happy for that. However, I believe, because of the geological | :04:47. | :04:52.
issues we have in the area, I think it could turn out to be a better | :04:53. | :04:55.
value for money building this tunnel. Do you think the route will | :04:56. | :05:03.
change? On the 19th of July, I had the directors of HS2 come to the | :05:04. | :05:06.
area and we did a five`hour fieldwork trip with people from the | :05:07. | :05:12.
local community. At the end of that tour, the director said I fully | :05:13. | :05:16.
understand we have got to have another think about what we do in | :05:17. | :05:19.
this part of the route. Thank you. And on tomorrow's Look North we'll | :05:20. | :05:22.
be reporting from Kent where Britain's first high speed railway | :05:23. | :05:28.
line was built. We'll look at the effect it's had on residents there | :05:29. | :05:32.
and some of the benefits to its economy. Later on Look North. | :05:33. | :05:38.
There's no`one quite like Grandma. Why this young lad had his hair cut | :05:39. | :05:44.
off by his idol. Huddersfield Giants' Earl Crabtree. 1000 people | :05:45. | :05:54.
filled Barkers Pool in Sheffield today for a homecoming parade by | :05:55. | :05:57.
soldiers from The Chestnut Troop ` the first regiment of the Royal | :05:58. | :06:00.
Horse Artillery. They have recently returned from a tour of duty in | :06:01. | :06:04.
Helmand Province. The Lord Mayor said it was an honour to have them | :06:05. | :06:08.
in the city. Tom Ingall was there. The sound of a homecoming. A signal | :06:09. | :06:12.
for many in the city to stand and applaud. | :06:13. | :06:21.
The Chestnut Troop, part of the 1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery | :06:22. | :06:27.
regularly exercise their freedom of Sheffield. For some, today's parade | :06:28. | :06:31.
took them down familiar streets. A proud moment for ourselves and | :06:32. | :06:38.
Sheffield as we have strong ties with the city. We have got the | :06:39. | :06:42.
freedom of Sheffield in 2002 and ever since, we have come back to the | :06:43. | :06:47.
city and paraded for the people of Sheffield. Two teams of six horses | :06:48. | :06:55.
pulled replica guns through the streets. The opening shots of the | :06:56. | :06:59.
First World War were fired by the Chestnut tree. We finished a century | :07:00. | :07:09.
on from where the trip originally fought with distinction. The | :07:10. | :07:11.
soldiers were presented with air campaign medals by the Lord Mayor of | :07:12. | :07:16.
Sheffield. As the Lord Mayor, I speak for all citizens of Sheffield | :07:17. | :07:19.
when I say how proud we are to welcome you back to Sheffield today. | :07:20. | :07:26.
It's a fantastic event to see all these troops lined up. They have | :07:27. | :07:29.
graced us with their presence, really. I'm just so honoured to be | :07:30. | :07:36.
part of it. A good turnout from the home crowd, wasn't it? Absolutely, | :07:37. | :07:41.
that's what's good about Sheffield. People are proud of the troops. | :07:42. | :07:46.
Having been in the forces 60 years ago, it's nice to see the | :07:47. | :07:50.
present`day troops on parade. And I'm proud of them and I'm proud for | :07:51. | :07:55.
what they do in Afghanistan. They need all the help they can get and | :07:56. | :07:58.
all the praise. I don't think they get enough praise for what they do. | :07:59. | :08:02.
With families and veterans looking on, this was a proud day for many. | :08:03. | :08:06.
And a chance for the city to share its gratitude. Sheffield's wonderful | :08:07. | :08:17.
black form `` welcome for The Chestnut Troop. In the rest of the | :08:18. | :08:22.
day's news. There's been a fall in the number of unemployed in | :08:23. | :08:25.
Yorkshire and the Humber, in line with the national trend. Figures for | :08:26. | :08:28.
the three`month period between September and November show there | :08:29. | :08:31.
were 235,000 people without a job. That's 8,000 fewer than the previous | :08:32. | :08:33.
quarter. The regional unemployment rate is now 8.4%, the second highest | :08:34. | :08:37.
in Britain. ?17 million of lottery money is being given to Sheffield | :08:38. | :08:41.
and Leeds to help young people get off benefits and into jobs. In South | :08:42. | :08:44.
Yorkshire, the money will be distributed by the charity Sheffield | :08:45. | :08:48.
Futures. It's part of a nation`wide scheme aimed at helping 18 to | :08:49. | :08:51.
24`year`olds to get on the career ladder. They say they don't feel | :08:52. | :08:59.
they have confidence, they don't how to respond to jobs, they don't feel | :09:00. | :09:02.
like they have a direction. They don't really know how to approach | :09:03. | :09:07.
employers or how to get past recruitment agencies, for example. | :09:08. | :09:12.
We are here to give them work experience, paid work experience, | :09:13. | :09:17.
paid job opportunities, as well as an opportunity to explore the | :09:18. | :09:19.
entrepreneurial side. A murder investigation has begun in Sheffield | :09:20. | :09:22.
after an elderly woman's body was found this morning. South Yorkshire | :09:23. | :09:26.
Police say a woman in her 50s has been arrested on suspicion of murder | :09:27. | :09:29.
after the body of a 93`year`old was found at a house on Crimicar Lane in | :09:30. | :09:33.
Fulwood just after nine o'clock. Villagers are campaigning for safety | :09:34. | :09:35.
improvements to a North Yorkshire road where three people died last | :09:36. | :09:39.
year. Two men and a woman were killed in November on the B1248 at | :09:40. | :09:42.
Wharram Le Street after their car crashed head on into a van. They | :09:43. | :09:48.
were on their way to work at the Malton bacon factory. Three B in | :09:49. | :09:54.
North Yorkshire have made it into the world's top ten, as voted for in | :09:55. | :09:58.
the Tripadvisor Traveller's Choice Awards. The All Seasons Guest House, | :09:59. | :10:02.
in Filey, took second place. Saxon Villa in Robin Hoods Bay came | :10:03. | :10:06.
fourth, and Millgate B in Masam is ranked ninth. No hotels in the | :10:07. | :10:09.
county made it onto the international list, but Harrogate's | :10:10. | :10:12.
Rudding Park has been named the second best hotel in the UK. And | :10:13. | :10:18.
congratulations to Quayside of Whitby who have today been named the | :10:19. | :10:22.
Independent Take Away fish and chip shop of the year at the National | :10:23. | :10:29.
Fish and Chip Awards in London. Have you tried them? I have indeed. They | :10:30. | :10:33.
are wonderful. Well done. Having pride in your grandchildren isn't | :10:34. | :10:36.
unusual, but one Bradford woman is especially proud. Margaret Pollard | :10:37. | :10:39.
was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago and says her grandchildren | :10:40. | :10:42.
helped her survive the ordeal. We'll be hearing from Margaret in a | :10:43. | :10:45.
moment, but first Olivia Richwald went to meet 10`year`old Bryan | :10:46. | :10:48.
Usher, who made the biggest sacrifice he could imagine to help | :10:49. | :10:59.
his grandma's charity. Huddersfield giant Bill Crabtree. Six foot six, | :11:00. | :11:05.
18 stone, long blonde hair. The John Smith's stadium is as battlefield | :11:06. | :11:09.
and it is here today a sacrifice is about to be made. Ten`year`old Brian | :11:10. | :11:15.
has been growing his here since he was six. He wants to be just like | :11:16. | :11:19.
his hero Earl Crabtree, but is about to find out the prop forward is | :11:20. | :11:26.
actually going to be his barber. How are you? Don't be shy. All right? I | :11:27. | :11:31.
heard them somebody around him with better here than me and I thought, | :11:32. | :11:36.
that can't be true. Brian offered to shave his head to supporters | :11:37. | :11:39.
grandmother Margaret who was diagnosed with breast cancer a year | :11:40. | :11:44.
ago. And, as his 14 inch ponytail is about to head the dressing room | :11:45. | :11:48.
floor, he has just two words. Quite nervous. Here we go. This bit first. | :11:49. | :11:57.
I was his favourite player until today. I feel really guilty. Why | :11:58. | :12:02.
would he want to thank me? I'm slightly scared, you know. In a few | :12:03. | :12:07.
years, you're going to come back and say, do you remember you cut my hair | :12:08. | :12:12.
and ruined my life? The ponytail which took four years to grow, has | :12:13. | :12:17.
gone in just ten minutes. But Brian plans to grow it back. For Margaret, | :12:18. | :12:22.
to date the had given a giant a gesture she will never forget. | :12:23. | :12:29.
Fantastic. I'm pleased to say Margaret is in the studio with us | :12:30. | :12:32.
now, along with grandsons Bryan and Tony. Brian, you are sporting a new | :12:33. | :12:36.
hairdo full soap powders are sporting a new hairdo full sub how | :12:37. | :12:40.
does it feel? It feels emotional. How does it feel to have shorter? | :12:41. | :12:45.
Strange. It has taken years after, Brian. Today was a surprise for you, | :12:46. | :12:53.
wasn't it? Yeah. What was it like to meet your idol? I felt like the | :12:54. | :12:59.
luckiest boy at that point. I'm sure grandmother felt the luckiest | :13:00. | :13:02.
grandmother in the world. What is the last year been like for you? It | :13:03. | :13:08.
has been hard at times. But I kept optimistic, kept going, even when my | :13:09. | :13:15.
prognosis was quite bad. It's a matter of looking forward, keeping | :13:16. | :13:20.
going, you can't give in. What does this lady mean to you? A lot, | :13:21. | :13:25.
because when I found out, I was very upset, and I want to help as much as | :13:26. | :13:31.
I could. You haven't got hair like the young man next to you. Did you | :13:32. | :13:39.
play rugby? Yes. I would've thought it said its advantage to have long | :13:40. | :13:42.
hair because they could yank you back. They can't do that now, can | :13:43. | :13:47.
they? What position do you play? Wing. You can score lots of tries | :13:48. | :13:54.
now. Your grandmother has sported several hairdos. Over the last 12 | :13:55. | :13:58.
months. Here are some pictures of you. Oh dear, glamorous granny. A | :13:59. | :14:06.
rainbow coloured there. I hope of the positive twist on things, | :14:07. | :14:11.
Margaret. Yes, you have got to keep positive. I think people are afraid | :14:12. | :14:17.
of the word cancer. If I said I had got something else, nothing, but | :14:18. | :14:21.
when you say you have got cancer, you have got to be positive. You | :14:22. | :14:26.
have got to think you can make it. But you need help from family. Yes, | :14:27. | :14:33.
definitely. My grandchildren... You are in remission now. Yes. You came | :14:34. | :14:39.
here today because he wanted a say something to your chance `` | :14:40. | :14:45.
grandchildren. Thank you for your help, and to Rebecca, my | :14:46. | :14:49.
granddaughter, who can't be here. We do have a surprise for you. Take a | :14:50. | :14:54.
look at this. Hello, grandma. Sorry I couldn't be there in person, due | :14:55. | :15:00.
to school. I have no idea how you managed to keep positive all the | :15:01. | :15:04.
way. I suppose a different coloured wigs helped. You are truly | :15:05. | :15:08.
inspirational. I will always admire you full sub you are so brave, love | :15:09. | :15:13.
you loads, grandma and grandad. How do you feel? That is a shot, that's | :15:14. | :15:20.
not fair. That's my other granddaughter, Rebecca full sub they | :15:21. | :15:24.
are all wonderful. They have raised over ?1000 between them. They have | :15:25. | :15:30.
done fantastic and so have you. Thank you very much for coming in. | :15:31. | :15:35.
Well done, bawdy. What would you do with your hair. I don't know. Put it | :15:36. | :15:42.
in a box. Before 7.00pm. A storm over sauce. Sheffield's Hendersons | :15:43. | :15:45.
Relish put to the test after it's called a Worcester Sauce | :15:46. | :15:46.
impersonator. How dare they! After the incredible achievements of | :15:47. | :15:58.
Yorkshire athletes at London 2012, we're set for another | :15:59. | :16:05.
record`breaking Olympics. Today the British team was announced for the | :16:06. | :16:08.
Sochi Winter Olympics in just over two weeks' time. I have been lucky | :16:09. | :16:12.
enough to cover three winters and it is a wonderful experience, so good | :16:13. | :16:15.
luck to all our Yorkshire competitors. More than ever before. | :16:16. | :16:19.
There will be ten as part of the squad leaving for Russia. To tell us | :16:20. | :16:23.
who we need to be looking out for, here's Ian Bucknell. | :16:24. | :16:31.
Ten is the magic number for Yorkshire in Russia. Number one, | :16:32. | :16:41.
Shelley Rudman. She won Olympic silver in the skeleton bob in 2006. | :16:42. | :16:46.
It is also the reigning world champion and looks our best hope of | :16:47. | :16:51.
having a medal. I know I have done everything possible to just go out | :16:52. | :16:55.
there and perform as well as I can. I would like to walk away from this | :16:56. | :16:59.
Olympics just feeling really proud to be in this position, my third | :17:00. | :17:04.
Olympics, and walk away with a smile on my face knowing I did every thing | :17:05. | :17:08.
possible. She is joined by her partner Christine Bromley and | :17:09. | :17:14.
finally, John Baines from North Yorkshire, who is part of the | :17:15. | :17:19.
bobsleigh team. It's part of my dream to be in the Olympics as a | :17:20. | :17:22.
small child. Thinking back to primary school, thinking, imagine | :17:23. | :17:29.
doing that sport. In freestyle skiing, James Woods, who led that is | :17:30. | :17:37.
learned his trade in Sheffield. He has won a silver medal a year ago. | :17:38. | :17:43.
Katie Summerhays as the earnest member team Yorkshire. She put on a | :17:44. | :17:47.
performance of her life to take silver at the World Cup at the | :17:48. | :17:51.
weekend. Emma Lonsdale from North Yorkshire and James May Chin | :17:52. | :17:57.
complete our freestyle skiing full sub Jamie Nicholson started | :17:58. | :18:00.
snowboarding Madiba seven and frozen self of a man`made cliff for a | :18:01. | :18:03.
living and that's got to be worth a place at the Olympics. It's pretty | :18:04. | :18:08.
crazy, big achievement for me. I never thought when I was growing up, | :18:09. | :18:14.
seven years old, I would be representing my country at the | :18:15. | :18:18.
Olympics. Snowboard cross as a dangerous race to the bottom of the | :18:19. | :18:22.
healthful sub Zoe Billings goes amiss this one and a team is | :18:23. | :18:24.
completed by Dominic Carrington, originated from Leeds in | :18:25. | :18:30.
snowboarding. There is the ten to follow. It's on the BBC starting on | :18:31. | :18:37.
the seventh of debris. `` February. Football now and we only had one | :18:38. | :18:41.
team in action last night but their match produced enough drama for a | :18:42. | :18:44.
full fixture list. It all looked to be going to plan against Rochdale | :18:45. | :18:47.
when Gary Roberts gave the Spirites the lead as half time approached. | :18:48. | :18:51.
Midway through the second half Marc Richards eventually got the ball in | :18:52. | :18:54.
the net after it had pinged around the area, putting them two up. It | :18:55. | :18:58.
stayed like that until injury time. Richards handballed on the line to | :18:59. | :19:02.
give away a penalty and get sent off. It was now 2`1. Then, | :19:03. | :19:07.
catastrophe. Rochdale levelled, and it finished 2`2. Staying with | :19:08. | :19:12.
football and Doncaster Rovers have signed their former striker Billy | :19:13. | :19:16.
Sharp on loan until the end of the season. Before he left in 2012, | :19:17. | :19:19.
Sharp scored 40 goals for Rovers, including this one against | :19:20. | :19:21.
Middlesbrough shortly after the death of his young son. Sharp says | :19:22. | :19:28.
he's delighted and very excited to be returning. We hope to talk to him | :19:29. | :19:35.
tomorrow. And some sad news that the former Yorkshire cricketer, Graham | :19:36. | :19:38.
Stevenson has died at the age of 58. The all`rounder played in 177 first | :19:39. | :19:41.
class matches for the county taking 464 wickets and scoring nearly 4,000 | :19:42. | :19:46.
runs. He also played two Tests and four one`day internationals. | :19:47. | :19:49.
Stevenson had endured ill`health in recent years and died in hospital. | :19:50. | :19:57.
Let's move onto something a bit more saucy now! And the row over a | :19:58. | :20:04.
Sheffield spicy relish. Sorry to disappoint you. When a London MP | :20:05. | :20:15.
mocked Henderson's Relish in the Commons, labelling it a Worcester | :20:16. | :20:18.
Sauce impersonator, he unleashed a viral storm. Across the internet | :20:19. | :20:21.
lovers of the 100`year`old Sheffield institution rose up to defend it. | :20:22. | :20:24.
Even the Deputy Prime Minister joined in. Our reporter James | :20:25. | :20:27.
Vincent is in Sheffield now. James, do you know the difference? I | :20:28. | :20:32.
reserve the right to be offended at that question to be honest as does | :20:33. | :20:37.
everybody here. Let me take you to condiment corner. Three bottles of | :20:38. | :20:43.
Henderson's Relish and one bottle of Worcester sauce. Nobody knows the | :20:44. | :20:47.
recipe and no one has been allowed to film inside the factory until | :20:48. | :20:51.
today. We got in and they were fighting their corner. Most | :20:52. | :20:56.
Sheffield people would organise the shape of the bottle. Its distinctive | :20:57. | :21:01.
smell, there's no need for a label at all. This is where Henderson's | :21:02. | :21:07.
happens and they are letting me have a go. They have been making it for | :21:08. | :21:13.
over 100 years. For anybody to get confused with any other sources on | :21:14. | :21:16.
the market, people think it's a bit silly. They are trusting me with us | :21:17. | :21:25.
today. Jim Dowd, a London MP, has not made friend appeared by saying | :21:26. | :21:30.
it's a Worcester sauce knock`off. I didn't know there was such a thing. | :21:31. | :21:35.
It's a spicy sauce, Jim, but not as you know it. Sheffield people are | :21:36. | :21:39.
very proud of their city. And anything made in their city, and | :21:40. | :21:43.
Hendersons is in major over 120 years now, and they like it. And | :21:44. | :21:48.
don't want anybody to say anything naughty about it. We are going to do | :21:49. | :21:53.
a taste test. Will people know the difference between Henderson's and | :21:54. | :21:57.
Worcester sauce? I would put ?1000 on it quite happily. I know people | :21:58. | :22:02.
could tell the difference. Two bottles, but can people in Sheffield | :22:03. | :22:10.
tell the difference? We are in Sheffield market so let's commence. | :22:11. | :22:17.
Relish. It's nice. Do you like it? It's all right. No charge? What do | :22:18. | :22:27.
you make of that one? That's not nice. Which one is Henderson's? The | :22:28. | :22:37.
first one. First or second? The second, the first one is too hot. | :22:38. | :22:47.
That is Henderson's. No doubt. That is no good. Every single person we | :22:48. | :22:54.
spoke to in the market, excuse me a second, knew exactly what | :22:55. | :22:58.
Henderson's Relish was. Marie Dakin says: He hasn't a clue. A pie isn't | :22:59. | :23:02.
a pie without Henderson's. Caron Kolowiecki says: I was born in the | :23:03. | :23:05.
Midlands and raised on Worcester sauce but have lived in Yorkshire | :23:06. | :23:09.
for nearly eight years and have been converted. Doreen Constantine says: | :23:10. | :23:12.
He doesn't know what he's missing but his loss is our gain. Graham | :23:13. | :23:15.
Rowe says: For 50 years my brother`in`law has lived abroad. He | :23:16. | :23:19.
never failed to take back bottles of Henderson's whenever he visited | :23:20. | :23:20.
Sheffield. Janice says Worcester sauce is nothing like Henderson's, | :23:21. | :23:23.
no comparison at all. It is tea`time at the moment and if you don't mind, | :23:24. | :23:28.
I've got some chips to eat. Enjoy, James. I look forward to seeing your | :23:29. | :23:34.
expenses, as well. Time now for a look at the weather. Is it going to | :23:35. | :23:36.
change? There was a risk the middle of next | :23:37. | :23:44.
week might be cold enough for hill snow but blink and you will miss it. | :23:45. | :23:49.
It looks unsettled. Strong winds and heavy rain over the next few days. | :23:50. | :23:55.
Let's look at some pictures you have sent in. The first one, well worth | :23:56. | :24:03.
another look. This was as the rain cleared during the course of this | :24:04. | :24:09.
morning. This is very artistic. The cement works at Castleton. | :24:10. | :24:14.
Absolutely sensational. The third picture you sent me, that was | :24:15. | :24:19.
sunrise yesterday morning in Sheffield. Keep your pictures coming | :24:20. | :24:26.
in. Tomorrow, there will be a short spell of really heavy rain that | :24:27. | :24:32.
could turn wintering over the hills. The skies are soon brightening up. | :24:33. | :24:38.
This is another one which will bring rain through the course on Friday | :24:39. | :24:42.
and then we can look forward to more rain later on Sunday. Things are | :24:43. | :24:48.
turning very much more unsettled. This is the satellite picture. A | :24:49. | :24:53.
bank of cloud, broken cloud this afternoon, with a few showers, so | :24:54. | :24:56.
straightforward forecast evening and overnight. A scattering of showers, | :24:57. | :25:02.
especially in the West, but they will fizzle out ahead of that next | :25:03. | :25:07.
weather front. Onto the Pennines by 6am something like that. Elsewhere, | :25:08. | :25:13.
watch out for icy patches on untreated surfaces. 1`2 Celsius. The | :25:14. | :25:18.
sun will rise in the morning at 8:07am. These are the high water | :25:19. | :25:28.
times. A fast moving weather front bringing heavy rain, turning wintry | :25:29. | :25:32.
over the hills, but look how fast it moves. By 9am, it is merely clear of | :25:33. | :25:36.
the coast and then we have scattered showers and sunshine. A few showers | :25:37. | :25:42.
on the wintry side but eastern areas will become dry. Highs of 6`7dC. Not | :25:43. | :25:51.
far from normal. Rain spreading from the West through the course of the | :25:52. | :25:52.
day. Thank you very much. We are back at | :25:53. | :25:57.
10:25pm. Bye bye. Good night. We all have hopes and fears | :25:58. | :26:21.
for the future and for the lives our children | :26:22. | :26:24.
and grandchildren will lead. I want to build a Britain | :26:25. | :26:28.
where everyone feels secure, so our long-term economic plan | :26:29. | :26:32.
is building a stronger, more competitive economy | :26:33. | :26:35.
and securing our country's future. | :26:36. | :26:40. |
