Welcome to Look North. Hundreds of people are expected to

take part in a protest this lunchtime against plans to close

Calderdale Royal Hospital's accident and emergency department. The

proposals are part of plans to save the NHS ?50 million, and would mean

patients having to travel to Huddersfield for treatment.

Campaigners say the move could cost lives. Here's Kate Bradbrook.

Two hospitals, both with A units, ten miles apart. Last month, it was

announced that one of these casualty departments could close, with the

preferred option being Calderdale. For patients like Holly May, who

suffers from severe asthma, it is a grim prospect. Round about two weeks

ago when I was so poorly, if I'd have had to travel to maybe

Huddersfield, which is around 30 minutes more, I think it could've

been different and it was more of a life`saving place to be there so

quickly. Calderdale Clinical Commissioning Group says the plans

are not just about A, but a bigger transformation of Health and Social

Care across Calderdale and greater Huddersfield. Bosses say no

decisions have yet been taken, but campaigners gathering this lunchtime

say the move could cost lives. Detectives have named a man they

want to trace in connection with the murder of Colin Pierre. He's Anthony

Micah Pyke, who is 31 and from the Meanwood area of Leeds. Mr Pierre's

body was found by school children in woods in Chapel Allerton on Tuesday

morning. He had been shot. Three men have been stabbed after a

fight broke out in the centre of Holmfirth. It's believed the

incident is linked to a house party in the Netherthong area last night.

Two of the men remain in hospital but their injuries are not

life`threatening. Sheffield boxer Kell Brook has vowed

not to be complacent as he prepares to take on Mexican Alvaro Robles in

Liverpool this evening. Brook has been guaranteed a summer shot at the

IBF welterweight title, currently held by American Shawn Porte,

providing he gets past Robles. But Kell's not the only fighter from the

famous Ingle gym who's in action tonight.

It's just a tick`over job, but every fight he has from this point onwards

is dangerous. If he loses, that's the end of his world title dream.

Also, on the same night in Reading, we've got a guy fighting for the

British light heavyweight title. He's a bit of an unknown but

everybody will know his name when he winds that belt.

tandem Tour de Yorkshire for Sport Relief. They left Skipton this

morning and are heading into the Dales. They are expected in the

village of Mooker at about 4pm. They're riding the Yorkshire part of

the Tour de France and it will take them eight days.

It is a bit of a breezy afternoon for many others, about a cloud

around, too. There should be some sunny spells in the East later in

the day but for most of us it will be fairly overcast. That breeze

picking up as we go into this evening, it could be fairly gusty

for a time. Overnight, the cloud built in once again from the West,

that should keep temperatures from falling too low and the breeze

preventing any folk from forming. I'll start initially for Sunday,

Following on from what has been largely dry and settled week with

high pressure in charge, the weekend weather continues on that theme,

too. Things are looking largely dry, not everywhere, but there will
