Good afternoon. The family of Ben Clarkson, from Leeds, are waiting to

hear the formal identification of a body discovered in the River Foss in

York last night. 22`year`old Ben has been missing since he disappeared

from a nightclub in the city three weeks ago. Our reporter Cathy Booth

has the details. The body was discovered by police at 5pm

yesterday, near the Sainsbury's entrance on Foss Bank.

22`year`old Ben Clarkson went missing on the second March

following a night out. North Yorkshire Police say they will not

formally identify the body until tomorrow or Monday. Last night,

Ben's girlfriend, Rachel Peatfield, issued a statement in which she paid

tribute to him. She said, I am truly heartbroken to have lost the love of

my life and I will treasure the fond memories that we made over the last

11 years dearly. Ben was an amazing partner, son, grandson, brother and

uncle, and no`one will ever replace him. Ben's death comes days after

the body of 20``year`old Megan Roberts was pulled from the River

Ouse. She also disappeared after a night drinking in York. It has led

to calls for increased safety measures to be put in place along

the city's rivers. More places in Yorkshire could be

getting direct trains to London. The Department for Transport says it's

asking companies bidding to operate the East Coast line to consider

running regular services to Huddersfield, Harrogate and

Scarborough. The route is currently run by government`owned company East

Coast Trains, but it will be returned to the private sector next

year. Sport and in last night's Super

League, Leeds Rhinos destroyed London Broncos in their tie at

Headingley. At half`time the Rhinos were leading 34`0, including a

hat`trick from Ryan Hall who signed a new five` year deal on Tuesday.

This try from captain Rob Burrows secured a win for the Rhinos. The

game ended 54 `` six. Onto boxing and tonight Sheffield

could be celebrating a new European champion. Kid Galahad goes up

against Spaniard Sergio Prado at Ponds Forge for the super

bantamweight crown. The 24`year`old is confident of adding another belt

to the British title he already holds and says afterwards he'll be

ready to go for a world title. Yeah, hopefully, early next year, I will

get myself in the top two or three, so then I am a challenger, and I

will bring the world title back to Sheffield. Finally a big thank you

Institute of Sport, in Sheffield, last night after their 250`mile

It is quite cold out there. Winter may be on its way back. There are

hefty showers around this afternoon. Some of those are giving sleet and

snow over the tops of the Pennines. Temperature wise, we're looking at

high temperatures of around nine degrees. It is still fairly breezy

from the south`west. This evening, the showers tend to continue. They

will die out in some places, but where we have them, we could see ice

in places. Temperatures around two degrees. High temperatures of nine
