There is more throughout the evening on the BBC News Channel. We are back

Good evening from Look North. A man with the

:00:00.:00:12.

Good evening from Look North. A man from North Wales has admitted

:00:13.:00:15.

posting offensive messages on Twitter following the death of

:00:16.:00:18.

school teacher Ann Maguire. She was stabbed to death exactly a week ago

:00:19.:00:21.

at Corpus Christi Catholic College in Leeds. Another man from Leeds,

:00:22.:00:24.

aged 21, has also been charged with the same offence. Michelle Lyons

:00:25.:00:27.

reports. Robert Riley, aged 42, appeared at

:00:28.:00:29.

Leeds Magistrates' Court this morning charged with sending

:00:30.:00:31.

malicious communications about murdered schoolteacher Ann Maguire,

:00:32.:00:34.

who was killed in her classroom at the Corpus Christi Catholic College

:00:35.:00:41.

last week. The messages, posted on Twitter, were sent by Riley from his

:00:42.:00:44.

hometown of Port Talbot in South Wales and were described by the

:00:45.:00:47.

prosecution today as being grossly offensive and of an indecent nature,

:00:48.:00:50.

although they weren't read out in court. Riley pleaded guilty to the

:00:51.:00:57.

offence and apologised for his behaviour and any upset he may have

:00:58.:01:03.

caused. He left court today with his head covered with his hoodie. He was

:01:04.:01:08.

given bail and told to appear before Swansea Magistrates' Court on

:01:09.:01:12.

Thursday. West Yorkshire Police say this is the second incident of

:01:13.:01:15.

malicious communication that they've had to deal with since the death of

:01:16.:01:23.

Ann Maguire last week. Meanwhile students at Corpus Christi

:01:24.:01:26.

Catholic College will release balloons and lanterns into the sky

:01:27.:01:29.

at 7:30pm tonight to mark a week since Ann Maguire died. The

:01:30.:01:32.

61`year`old had taught at the school for more than 40 years, before being

:01:33.:01:36.

attacked in a classroom last Monday. Ian White is at the school.

:01:37.:01:41.

One week on from the death of Ann Maguire and these are the scenes

:01:42.:01:44.

outside the Corpus Christi Catholic College today. Floral tributes still

:01:45.:01:47.

arriving, people coming along to see what's been written, but this way, a

:01:48.:01:51.

charity football match is under way, organised by many former pupils

:01:52.:01:56.

here. Alex, you are a former pupil. Why was this so important? I think

:01:57.:02:00.

because we were pushed out from Corpus when it all happened because

:02:01.:02:04.

they wanted to keep it secure, so we felt we had to come together as a

:02:05.:02:07.

community to support each other through this time. And it's 16 and

:02:08.:02:11.

17`year`olds who have done this. Ex`pupils started a group on

:02:12.:02:14.

Facebook but we didn't expect so much support from so many groups

:02:15.:02:17.

like adults and people with children. I think it's amazing. You

:02:18.:02:22.

must be pleased with the turnout. Mrs Maguire would be pleased,

:02:23.:02:26.

wouldn't she? I think she would have loved it because everyone's getting

:02:27.:02:29.

together and supporting one another through it and not dwelling on the

:02:30.:02:32.

situation but supporting one another and smiling and enjoying themselves,

:02:33.:02:35.

not forgetting, the main reason of this is to send off and celebrate

:02:36.:02:39.

Mrs Maguire's life, but just everyone smiling is amazing. There

:02:40.:02:48.

is a more buoyant mood this week from the sombre scenes we saw last

:02:49.:02:54.

week. More going on here tonight. Yeah, there is this game and then

:02:55.:02:58.

the girls' game and then we're setting off the balloons, so it

:02:59.:03:02.

should be good, a great day. Thank you. That's the latest for the

:03:03.:03:06.

moment from Corpus Christi. We'll have pictures of those balloons

:03:07.:03:09.

being released on our late news tonight.

:03:10.:03:12.

The Green party has become the latest to launch its campaign for

:03:13.:03:15.

the European Elections in the Yorkshire region. The party's six

:03:16.:03:17.

candidates addressed party supporters in a converted barn at an

:03:18.:03:20.

urban farm visitor centre near Huddersfield. At the last elections

:03:21.:03:24.

five years ago, the Greens narrowly missed out on taking a first seat in

:03:25.:03:27.

the European Parliament for the Yorkshire and Humber region. The

:03:28.:03:32.

Green Party is very strong in Yorkshire and Humber. It has

:03:33.:03:35.

councillors in Leeds, Bradford, York, Sheffield, Scarborough,

:03:36.:03:39.

Kirklees, where I'm a councillor. We've really built up the strength

:03:40.:03:42.

of the local parties. We've got people campaigning in the streets.

:03:43.:03:46.

We're a lot more visible than we have been in the past, so there's a

:03:47.:03:51.

real opportunity. So a decisive weekend of football

:03:52.:03:55.

has come to a close with our sides and their fans experiencing the

:03:56.:03:58.

extremes. With the story of champions, a last`minute relegation

:03:59.:04:00.

and a knockout punch in the play`offs, here's Ian Bucknell.

:04:01.:04:06.

It's a long season and there are many ups and downs. Chesterfield

:04:07.:04:09.

have had their share, refusing to do things the easy way, but on

:04:10.:04:12.

Saturday, the very last day, they became League Two champions. There's

:04:13.:04:19.

a lot of downtime in football, so you have to enjoy days like this.

:04:20.:04:23.

I've enjoyed two promotions, one when I was chairman of Sheffield

:04:24.:04:27.

Wednesday, and now here. It started a bit flat, but you couldn't have

:04:28.:04:33.

picked a better ending. Gary Roberts has been the outstanding player in

:04:34.:04:37.

the division. How fitting it was, then, that he scored the goal which

:04:38.:04:40.

defeated Fleetwood and decided the title. But for every winner there is

:04:41.:04:46.

a loser, Doncaster players distressed after their defeat at

:04:47.:04:49.

Leicester and relegation from the championship. I feel for everyone in

:04:50.:04:55.

the club, and the fans, the fans were magnificent. We got relegated

:04:56.:04:59.

in the last minute today and the standing ovation they gave the

:05:00.:05:02.

players was outstanding. FC Halifax Town fans travelled to Cambridge to

:05:03.:05:05.

see their team take a shot at promotion to the Football League,

:05:06.:05:09.

but their 1`0 lead from the first leg lasted barely ten minutes.

:05:10.:05:13.

Hesitation in the defence, and Delano Sam`Yorke pounced. He scored

:05:14.:05:17.

again before half`time and Halifax never found a way back. To see what

:05:18.:05:23.

we've done this season, it's phenomenal. We're part`time. When

:05:24.:05:27.

you can smell it and it's so close, it really is heartbreaking. To see

:05:28.:05:31.

more of the last`day drama from our Football League side, watch

:05:32.:05:34.

tonight's Late Kick Off on BBC one at 11:35.

:05:35.:05:38.

Cricket now, and Yorkshire captain Andrew Gale has made an impressive

:05:39.:05:42.

return to the side. The skipper dropped himself from the team last

:05:43.:05:45.

time out. But at Durham today, he hit a century as Yorkshire made 589

:05:46.:05:50.

before declaring. At close of play, the hosts had reached 62`1.

:05:51.:05:57.

Beautiful day for cricket on a Bank Holiday Monday. Will there be any

:05:58.:06:02.

play tomorrow? Just the odd shower. Sunny spells

:06:03.:06:08.

and feeling warm tomorrow only because we are between weather

:06:09.:06:11.

systems and Thursday and Friday looks very unsettled with heavy

:06:12.:06:16.

downpours. Tonight turns wet from the West with persistent rain in

:06:17.:06:20.

many areas, much of that clear of the coast by first thing tomorrow,

:06:21.:06:23.

lowest temperatures around nine degrees. Tomorrow, patchy rain

:06:24.:06:31.

towards the coast soon clears them a lovely day, mostly dry bread, some

:06:32.:06:36.

sunshine and just a small chance of catching an afternoon shower but

:06:37.:06:40.

most of us will stay shower with nice temperatures, with a light or

:06:41.:06:46.

moderate south`west wind. Sunny intervals and scattered showers on

:06:47.:06:51.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday go downhill with some heavy downpours,

:06:52.:06:56.

some sunny intervals in between. Enjoy what is left of this glorious

:06:57.:06:58.

bank holiday. We are back at 20 `` Enjoy what is left of this glorious

:06:59.:07:03.

bank holiday. We are back at 20 `` bike at 10:25pm.

:07:04.:07:10.

The sunshine today for the bank holiday produced the highest

:07:11.:07:14.

temperature of the long weekend in eastern England today, at 20

:07:15.:07:19.

Celsius. But to the west, the cloud has been gathering. We have seen a

:07:20.:07:23.

bit of rain in Northern Ireland and western Scotland, but the thicker

:07:24.:07:26.

cloud now pushing into the south-west of England is delivering

:07:27.:07:31.

more rain. It will become more extensive over the next few hours. A

:07:32.:07:36.

ragged area of rainfall will move east as the night goes on. If you

:07:37.:07:41.

have yet to make your journey home from the bank holiday weekend, you

:07:42.:07:45.

may encounter sums are a. -- some spray. Temperatures are not too bad

:07:46.:07:52.

. The good news is that most of the rain has gone by the morning. Some

:07:53.:07:56.

may be lingering in

:07:57.:07:57.
